Well Del's Hideout as far as BBQ places go this is one should be on the top of your list. My husband and I decided to try the BBQ Feast for two. Which consisted of Brisket, BBQ Chicken and Pulled Pork, you also get three sides and choice of Texas Toast or Cornbread. Our three sides were Killer Baked Beans, Coleslaw and French Fries. The Brisket, Chicken and Pulled Pork were OMG tender, juicy delicious. Actually everything was so good. The feast cost $45.95 and it was well worth the price. The atmosphere was a bit loud but they play the coolest music and they have t.v.'s to look at. Loved the staff members also, very friendly and cool to talk too.
Let me start off by saying this: I’m from the South. I know what good BBQ is and it has been extremely difficult to find decent BBQ in San Diego. Insert Del’s Hideout. I went there not knowing what to expect. First off, the customer service was AMAZING. The waitress made me feel at home with a warm smile, good conversation, and laughs. I ordered the loaded potato wedges as an appetizer, the BBQ Sandwich with brisket, and an order of the Brisket Chili bowl. Everything was great. The Brisket Chili bowl could have been seasoned more but that’s just a personal preference. The chef knew what he was doing! If you are looking for a great BBQ spot in San Diego, please don’t hesitate to go to Del’s!
The food (Chicken Caesar Salad) was really good and the bourbon pecan pie was delicious! Portions were large, enough for two meals for me. I ordered through Grubhub and it was delivered within 30 mins to my hotel. They did forget silverware but I was able to get it from the hotel . Recommend!
This place is the bomb. I had a pulled pork sandwich oh my goodness. . I was in heaven and earth. My husband had the ribs with. collard greens and green beans he couldn't put the greens down until he was finished and then he went for the ribs and fell in love. Thank you so much Coming back for sure with friends .
Best brisket I've ever had!! It was so juicy and everything else was delicious! The Mac and cheese makes a great side (:
Great time at Del’s! First time coming and I can’t wait to come back again. Service was awesome. Food came out quickly. Ordered the TJ burger, onion rings, and my husband got the fish n chips. Everything was great and the portions were huge!!! But pricey but you get what you pay for. Will be back again.
Great place if you're a big sports fan and enjoy bbq food. The smoked bbq beans are so good you would want to order 2 portions just for yourself. Great selection of beer. Friendly staff. Portion size is pretty generous. There is a playground for your nuggets to run around while you e joy the game.
Great bbq here!!! Had the brisket which was absolutely perfect and the hot link was great as well full of flavor and spice...beans was awesome as well!!! Great service from the super friendly staff and plenty of beverages to choose from both alcoholic and non...a must visit place and a must regular spot if u live in the area...
This place is now our go-to when friends with kids come into town. The play area is such a game-changer. Parents of little ones can actually eat! They can actually drink! They can actually have a conversation without resorting to playing yet another episode of Care Bears on their phone so that the kids can sit quietly and keep sweet during dinner. The play area is right next to plenty of adult tables, so when we eat there with friends we can keep an eye on the kids. The play items are basic enough that they're hard for kids to hurt themselves (giant Legos, assorted ball-pit-style balls, some fisher-price-type outdoor cars or teeter-totters) while still being engaging. The space is enclosed, to prevent toddler escapees. And at the end of the first hourlong meal you'll have been able to enjoy since bringing home your own bundle of joy, the whole family gets free ice-cream cones. Score!
Feeling stuffed after a delicious lunch at Del’s Hideout! We got the BBQ Plate with pulled pork and sausage link and the Big O’ Melt sandwich. Everything tasted great and they also have a dog friendly patio as well as a kids playground. Very friendly and quick service and a lot of TVs to watch sports. Highly recommend!
Being from Texas I am pretty critical of BBQ in the west, I have to say this was really good the chicken was moist and as late in the evening I was impressed the brisket was not dry and it had a nice flavor. Now then the banana pudding oh my word the very best I have ever had! Three of us shared a platter for two and one banana pudding and no one left hungry, portion size is great. If in the area again we will definitely eat there again.
This was place is definitely a hidden gem. Arrived at happy hour. Great selection of drinks to choose from. Couldn't decide so the bartender gave me 3 great options. Of course I drank all 3. Now the BBQ was absolutely amazing. We went the BBQ Feast for 4 people. Brisket , chicken , and pulled pork. All three cooked perfectly and had a delicious flavor. For the sides we had the brisket chili , baked beans , and coleslaw. As you can see from the picture everyone began to devour the food before I could get the out of the kitchen photo. We all agreed that will definitely be coming back too Del's Hideout. That was definitely some of the best BBQ here in San Deigo.
After a horrible BBQ experience I decided I needed to eat at a different establishment to get that bad experience out of my mind. I trusted reviews once again and I was not dissapointed. First the place has a really relaxed and cool atmosphere. It is nice that they have an area for the kids to play with although it would be better if it was clean. They offer a large variety of beverages from soft drinks to beers. I had something called the lemonade sour and that was delicious. The brisket was not a disappointment. I am so glad that we decided to stop by and give this place a try although we had already been burned once by reviews. Dels brisket was definitely perfectly seasoned and cooked. It was very tender and juicy. The mac and cheese was the creamy texture and flavor you expect mac and cheese to be. The street corn had what tasted to me like a cilantro cream sauce with some spiciness to it. Everything combined well with each other and it was a very delicious meal. Lastly although we were already full we decided to order the banana pudding and I'm so glad I did. So creamy Perfect Blend of sweetness almost like it was homemade. I did accidentally get served a bread pudding and that's smell delicious but I didn't taste it it belong to the table next to us. We will come back :)
Tried this place for dinner and brunch. The portions are HUGE. I got the brisket sandwich and it was pretty good. Really nice to have a new spot in this area to go to. The staff was all friendly. I went on a Friday night at 6 p.m., place was packed with kids. I think every couple with a kid within a 20 mile radius was here. So either come early, or wait til about 7:30 (or get a place at the bar). I asked a mom if it was kids night and she said "no, but also be careful on Wed nights its a kids night". If that helps you determine when to go. Not quite sure how I feel about their concept of not having waiters and waitresses yet, the patrons seem a bit confused on how things work and I think that slows it down. Brunch on Sunday, very calm and quiet. Food was great and the staff was very helpful. Our whole group was happy with all the food. Here is the Breakfast Sandwich I got and had to split it. This will be a solid place, they are just working out the kinks like all new restaurants go through.
As someone who used to work in restaurants as a kitchen manager, I can tell you this place was doing the best they could after their system crashed, one girl not even carrying her own weight around and what appeared to be 4 people doing all the work. The food is amazing and the staff that was working was doing the best they could while a few of their co-workers did next to nothing... It's a shame that CA has such strict employment retention laws i know first hand how hard it is working with people not carrying their weight on a holiday. I hope the owner watches the cameras and gets the slacker employees to pull their weight. I'll be back for the BBQ!
This wonderful place is a staple for my husband and I! The food, speed of service & awesome atmosphere are some big reasons why we love it. The number one reason we love it is Alicia. She is a freaking gem. Attentive, fun, great to be around and a professional bartender. Her ability to anticipate our needs while giving us space when we need it is exceptional. We will keep coming to Dels until we are old and grey because of Alicia and all the other things mentioned. An overwhelmingly enthusiastic five stars.
Laidback, family-friendly spot just off the 8 with bbq meat that doesn’t make you feel heavy afterwards. Large private parking lot makes parking a breeze. Chicken tender starter was airy good (same chicken from their chicken&waffles) and the buttermilk is fantastically addictive. Their burgers/sandwiches were my favorite this time, at least until I try something else on the menu next time. Good sides: Baked beans and street corn hit the spot. Nothing here is ever overdone. They offer nice Zero-proof cocktails (mocktails) which is a plus for 9-5ers coming in on a weeknight for a quick bite. Everyone was welcoming, service was easygoing and well-balanced. Extra thanks to Bryon for taking care of our table. We’ll see you all again soon!
Nice place. Just opened so it is quite new. Decor is a little industrial with a very clean and neat feel. The whole restaurant is open to the outside via windowed sectional doors. The bar looks to be loaded with variety and they do in fact have beer, wine, and a great selection of cocktails. The food is BBQ. My pulled pork was good and the portions were more than adequate. Service at the table was also good. My complaints: you order your meal at the bar which is a huge bottleneck (pun intended). Took way to long to order when there were three servers that could easily have taken an order at the time if they were set up that way. They serve Pepsi and Stubborn products via a two soda machines so you can get refills at your leisure ( just a personal thing that I dont like diet pepsi so that was a drawback). For a party of 1 it cost me over $20 not including alchohol. That's a little pricey but considering what I normally pay for BBQ and the fact that the food was good it's somewhat reasonable. Being my first time here I would definatly eat here again. Seems like a great place to go out with friends for drinks.
Arrived in San Diego last night, late. Hotel canceled our reservation without telling us. After 3 1/2 hours we found the Roadway inn behind Del’s. It’s a dump but that’s another review. We were off to bad start for our vacation. After checking out we needed food and the smell from Del’s lured us in. We had the brisket. I have high standards for brisket. Our trip to this place turned our outlook around completely. It was outstanding. Simply delicious. That was a month ago and I’m still thinking about it
We came for lunch today and it was delicious!! I had the dip sandwich on the gluten free bread and the bacon potato salad and throughly enjoyed it. They have a surprisingly large number of gluten free options and the staff seemed very knowledgeable and accommodating. My husband got the brisket sandwich with onion rings and they were kind enough to warn me that while they normally encourage sharing, the onion rings were not gluten free. It was very nice to have the warning since they looked so good. This was totally worth the wait for opening day!
This is going to be a regular in our group lunch rotation. The food was really good and they have large portions. They make one of the best Rueben's I've ever had! The meat was tender and plentiful. Onion rings were perfect...they are huge and you get plenty to share. I had the corn as a side dish. I'm not usually a fan of spicy food but this was really good. Spicy but not mouth-numbing. Corn cut from the cob, cheese and small bits of jalapeño. My friend had the chicken tenders. Nice and crispy breading, good flavor. Service was very good. We will definitely be back!
I came in with no expectations just meeting my husband for Happy Hour and I was pleasantly surprised! I had the most helpful server, her name was Maki she answered so many of my questions and gave me a recommendation when I was trying to chose between two dishes. I ended up getting the Chicken & Waffle some fries and a Frose. My husband had sliders and a soda. Maki kept checking in with us and making sure we had everything we needed and when I asked for a box to go she even gave me a to go syrup for my waffle. I never had to get her attention and she was spot on with her recommendation! It was delicious. That was some of the best restaurant service I’ve had in years! I’ll be back and I’ll make sure to ask for Maki!
Friendly, efficient service, good food, somewhat reasonable prices, and a decent beer selection - I can't ask for too much more than that. I would mark them down half a star, if I could, for one thing. They surcharge your bill. I HATE THAT!! Don't falsely claim the price is one thing on the menu and then charge me 5% more. I know it's legal (so far), but it reeks of false advertising...or fraud. Beyond that, all good things to say.
Very good food! Top notch customer service! They took a little long to bring our entrees out after our appetizers. We noticed a few tables being served before us, even though we were there at least 10-15 mins before them, so the manager came out to apologize & took care of our entire bill, plus deserts. She even offered another round of beers & shots. Plus they slipped us 2 extra deserts to go. Definitely going back!
Del’s catered our party. Food was excellent, packaged neatly into insulated bags. Highly recommend the brisket!
Stopped by for a nice lunch, was not dissapointed. Enjoyed the plate for two. The chicken was juicy, the pulled pork was great and the brisket melted in my mouth. The mac and cheese wa not the Best, but it is damn good. The greens were tasty and chill. The street corn was a mystery and I am glad I tried it. I was bummed that there were no fried pickles offered in the menu, maybe they will be added some day. Overall a very nice calm spot to enjoy some good BBQ and catch a ball game. I saw a kids play area and that really adds to the family friendly vibe of the place. Not a loud sports bar but a quiet, friendly local hangout. I will be back and next time I am saving room to try the banana pudding. Good job Del's Hideout.
The food was excellent, I took my parents and daughters and there was an option for everyone. Once the food came out and we started eating we all absolutely loved our food. The BBQ feast for two is so delicious, the brisket was my favorite and you get plenty of food too. My dad loved his classic cheeseburger and brisket chili. My daughters loved the BBQ chicken, Mac and cheese and French fries. I highly recommend visiting this place.
Some of the best BBQ in town and that's the truth! I've benn hooked on the SOB salad the last couple times I've gone but the brisket is fire! Anytime I'm at Del's the staff takes good care of me. Shout out Maki for always making a great experience out of every visit!
A nice family friendly spot ( has video games and a little outside area for kids). I really liked the chicken fingers tossed in buffalo sauce, crispy on the outside and super tender. They were unfortunately out of the Tim's old fashioned but I'm definitely going back to try it since it is made with fat washed bourbon. We also got the bbq for 2 which come with chicken, brisket, pulled pork and 3 sides. All of it was really tasty. Try the street corn and the Mac and cheese for sure. Service was very good as well.
First time here. Randomly looking for another bbq spot that offered brisket, I saw this spot. I’ve been going to Phil’s for wings/ribs, but they don’t offer brisket, Turkey, and single serving of cornbread amongst other items. Del’s has it all and had a tough time choosing a plate. I ordered the combo Turkey and brisket which were both tender. Cornbread was excellent along with the greens, Mac and cheese, beans with brisket pieces. Bar service was good and great atmosphere plenty of parking.
It was such a refreshing experience. The atmosphere, great! The service was great! And the brisket was amazing. We will be back.
I’m in San Diego for work for a couple months and my hotel happened to be right next door to this place. The sign says Best BBQ in San Diego, but I think that’s an understatement. I’ve lived in Texas and Tennessee and this is some of the best BBQ food that I’ve ever had. And their special are amazing deals. The first time I went, I sat right at the bar and enjoyed some amazing food and service. They have a great selection of beers and drinks. The second time I went was for their Tequila Tuesday special. My server was Josh S, and he was great. Again, amazing service, and the tequila drinks were great! I’m sure I will visit this place at least 5 more times before I leave San Diego.
Some of the best BBQ I've had in San Diego, the beers and cocktails are all great. They've got a long list of great tasting liquor on site, Fortaleza being my favorite one. We got the platter for four and could barely finish it. It's a ton of food, every side I had was so good. Definitely can't wait to come back!
Del’s is one of our go-to places for taking our toddler out to dinner! Not only is the food fantastic but they have a great little outdoor play area for small children, perfect for the anti-high chair crowd - would highly recommend to other parents!
If you like BBQ you need to try this place! We stayed in one of the hotels next to this place and my boyfriend loves bbq so we decided to have dinner here our first night and we loved it so much we return three days later before leaving. In our first visit, they took forever to bring our food but we didn't realize because we had time, we were talking and we noticed the place was packed so we just lost track of time in our conversation, when our food arrived we were already excited to play their trivia game night (which we won 2nd place), so it worked for us. They noticed our food took way longer and we didn't complain at all even thought we should have (they said we waited like almost an hour), so they told us dinner was on them, that was such an amazing gesture on their end! In our second visit, food arrived in proper time. Both times, food was delicious, neat and sides were so flavorful & tasty, and our waiter/waitress were super friendly and nice! We can't wait to come back to SD just to have dinner here again.
Just like everyone else, pass this place every day glad we can in. Great food, atmosphere and very happy and upbeat place. The customer service is A-CLASS, from the minute you walk in the door till you leave. There menu has a little for everyone great bar options. Just enough TV's, arcade and a kids area. Food is on point. This hidden gem will not disappoint you.
Dels has been our favorite bbq for years. Whenever we need favors from friends, we don’t order pizzas, we order dels. The portions have gotten smaller over the years which is a bummer or else we’d go more often like we used to. Can’t go wrong with their meat platters, wings, sliders, meatloaf, fish and chips, and sides. The killer beans and collard greens are fantastic. Good beer, drinks, and specials on week days. Roll up windows on ice days which are closed when it’s cold. Arcade games and plenty of TVs for sports.
Del's was really fun. Excellent service, and good food too! They have an extensive bar, and many food options from BBQ and burgers to salads. I got the Del's burger with fried green tomatoes and a side of Mac and cheese. Pretty messy but also really good. My wife and daughter both had salads with chicken, and they both liked them. They have Pepsi and Stubborn soft drinks... I would prefer Coke products for sure.
Had such a great time at this hidden gem in Del Cerro. Now I get the name... when you need to get away... this is the spot. Came in with a friend and had the buffalo mac n cheese, French dip, chicken tenders and a few brews. The team was amazing and the GM Sabrina came out to welcome us and treat us to a full conversation about the space, the food, the direction of the restaurant. I was very impressed with the venue and the throw back super hero drawings from the old OB Warehouse days! Also love love love the wall design. Good job from the amazing team with Phillipe Beltran. What a great time! Cant wait to come back! Only recommendation: more dessert options. Reality is I dont think I need the dessert but if it were chocolate or caramel I probably would have got 2!!
If you don’t know what to get, grab “The Big O Melt”! It’s brisket sandwich where all the ingredients work really awesome together. Best side: the baked beans. Stop here if you’ve already decided because I go overboard describing my experience. 😅 I think they put theater popcorn butter on the toasted slices of bread because they taste almost like buttered popcorn, awesome. The sweet onions balance that salty taste and then the melted cheese on the brisket is a great combo.
Great food - BBQ plate with brisket was outstanding and enough to take home leftovers. Sides were classic and delicious. Sweet tea was a nice treat. I would definitely return.
My husband and I are participating in CRG‘s Culinary Quest. To capitalize on it, we have branched out from our normal favorite restaurants to try new places. This is our first time eating at Del’s Hideout. We were immediately greeted by the most wonderful server, Steven. He was friendly, pleasant and very attentive. We told him it was our first time and asked for some recommendations. Everything he suggested sounded great so we took him up on it and ordered those items. We were so impressed by the quality and flavor of the food! Delicious! But more impressive was Steven, our server. He was engaging, professional, personable and helpful. I watched as he went to each table in his section to make sure everyone was satisfied and had everything they needed. Each time he checked in with us he was polite and brought extra things we requested. He refilled our waters without asking and gave us the best service - way above and beyond typical help in a barbecue joint. Oh that every restaurant would have an entire staff of servers like him! One of the best I have met anywhere in a long time. Because of him, and the good food, this will be one of our new favorite places.
Amazing BBQ!!! Wow, I haven’t had it this good since visiting Texas. A must. The service is fabulous too. Atmosphere is super cool, chill and fun. Happy hour delights with a good selection. Tons to choose from when it comes to booze. Thanks and we will be back.
Great BBQ and burgers. They make the best bbq beans ever with ground meat in it. Wouldn’t share the recipe. Chili was pretty good too. I had the meat loaf on my first visit. Wasn’t impressed. I also wasn’t impressed with their signature old fashioned after the first sip. They offered to replace it and I got their standard old fashioned which was great. Thin slice of meat loaf and rather dry. Would be better as a sandwich with Cole slaw or other condiments. So when I came back I had their burger which was great. Fries were on the crispy side which I liked. Thursday is the day for the burger and draft beer special. Other days also have different specials.
Went there to eat after this year's ComicCon disappointment. Glad we ended the day on a better note. ABSOLUTELY love the BBQ here! We've been to their sister restaurants, but this is where the meats are smoked. (The La Mesa one was recently closed) The food was fantastic! I always find that the best BBQ doesn't need any sauce, and the meat was absolutely delicious without any! THAT'S good BBQ! IMO We were there around 3pm, so it was before the end of the work day rush started. NOTE: My husband and I could not finish the table for two platter, so I made an open faced omelette with six eggs and the leftover meats and cut up fries the next morning. I included that picture too 😏
I've stopped here twice now and have had wonderful service and delicious food and beer both times. The Best Mac is a must, it's a great shareable for two people. Burgers are tasty and they can sub an impossible patty. Fish & Chips are tasty and enough to share. The batter can be a bit thick, but it's delicious! Fries and ranch are top tier. Definitely go on a taco Tuesday! The tacos are big enough to share (with another app or side). I honestly haven't had anything that I didn't enjoy. They also have a house blonde beer that you can get 28oz for $7.50. They also have an extensive liquor and tap list.
It was really nice having Mother’s Day lunch here. I came into San Diego briefly and had Mother’s Day lunch here. The corn cake was good, the turkey was great and the drink was so good, Mac and cheese. We had beef brisket as well with stuffed turkey in mash and corn stuffings. The staff were so nice and very welcoming. They had a special menu for Mother’s Day.
Authentic Texas BBQ!! Today is ALL THE MEAT MONDAY: BBQ Plate 3 meats $30.50 // 4 meats $36.50 // 5 meats $41.95 // with choice of 2 sides, house pickles & onions, texas toast or cornbread which is perfect for takeout as it all comes in one big pan. We had 5 meats, smoked meatloaf, hot links, brisket, baby back ribs, and pulled pork with collard greens and coleslaw for our sides, which were outstanding! Tori my takeout server was so helpful and kind. Love going to this place. Highly recommended to eat in or takeout. Great bar too.
We visited Del's Hideout for Restaurant Week. Our server, Maki, was really great. Very friendly and totally on top of anything we needed. The food was delicious and plentiful. The mac 'n cheese, pork plate, and banana bread pudding I had were all very good. I'd recommend Del's for a great evening out with family and friends.
First time here, and I wasn't disappointed. The first thing I noticed was how family-friendly it was. Many families with their little ones, couples, group of friends, etc. It's for everyone to enjoy. They even have a little playground for the kiddos. Our server was very nice and attentive with us, and so were other servers who approached our table multiple times. They customized my order, which was nice. My husband and his family were also satisfied with their orders. The highlight of the night, I'd say it was the Onion Rings, I could easily say that those are the best ones I've ever tried. They're really crispy, the flavor was just on point, and they're huge! Yummy. 100% recommend this place.

Always a great time when going to Del‘s for dinner and drinks. Food is consistently great and the service is even better. Dels is always a stop I must make on any trip to San Diego.
Good barbecue ribs were tender brisket was tender mac and cheese was good service was excellent plenty of parking definitely worth a visit
Cool place, great vibe and good service. The bbq was good, and the brisket soup was delicious, but I’m from Kansas City and my standards are very high. Everyone was really nice, and the food was tasty though.
Came here again after a year, and the food is incredibly delicious and the wait staff are darlings… but have to take off a star because they took the absolute most delicious item off the menu: Burnt ends! #bringbackburntends
I've driven by this place for years on the freeway and always wondered what they served. Their BBQ is pretty good. Large portions. Tasty sides and good cocktails. We loved the decor. Really cool sheik decorations and ideas throughout the restaurant. A couple things that were disappointing. 1) they charge an arbitrary 5% for I dont know what on top of everything else. Thats not cool, the prices are high enough. And it's not like it's Covid with wild fluctuating prices. Figure it out already! 2) The BBQ plates come with two sides. The waitor reccomeneded the Mac and cheese and the chilli. So I got both. When the bill came they were $3 extra each???!!! Would have been nice to know those two sides cost extra. And would have probably picked at least one other side. Ill probably come back when they drop the bogus 5% upcharge.
By advise we stopped to try the ribs and pulled pork. Both good food, maybe a bit "pepper-ie" for our taste. Side dishes were great and the serving sizes were good. Worth try and check that box.
Finally came to try this spot out since we always see it off the freeway..We got seated right away the staff was super friendly . We ordered the bbq feast for 2 it came with a bunch of meats and bbq chicken it was very tasty and the meat was really tender and the sides we got were Mac and potato salad which were ok, then we ended it with a sweet treat the banana pudding it was good just a lil small for the price but other then that I would definitely come back . One main thing I really liked about this place was their amazing customer service.
Monday Happy Hour all day!!! The deviled eggs were amazing ($5-$6 for happy hour), sliders were pretty good but the pulled pork was slightly dry, and Fritos pie was also good! The Q burger was huge and very tasty. I love the decor of the place, the outdoor kids space in a shipping container is cool, and the free frozen yogurt is a bonus! Great neighborhood eatery...
Sausage great flavor and not overwhelming. Brisket is pretty solid overall tender and decent flavor. Ribs left alot to be desired, somehow overally smokey, dry and not really tender. Baked potato sald was underwhelming. I am from the south and was craving barbacue, this did job.
We finally decided to stop in here after driving by it every day. Cannot say we were disappointed! The food was very flavorful and the ambiance is nice and laid back. You order up at the bar and sit wherever you want and they bring the food out to you. They have a little device at each table that allows you to call a server over to bring another round or bring you to-go containers. You can also signal that you're ready to close out your tab. It was nice to finish eating and be able to leave because we had already paid. It's also pretty family friendly with arcade games and a small outdoor play area for toddlers. They also have TVs for watching sports, obviously. It's open air, so it might get a little warm inside on hot days, but the eating area is never in a spot to get direct sunlight so it might not ever be an issue. They also are dog friendly and provide water bowls so your furry friend can stay hydrated. All in all, it was a great experience and we are glad that we went and are looking forward to the next trip!
Their "smoked meatloaf" is very good. I had it as a sandwich with collard greens on the side (which were amazing). My wife got pulled pork, mac-n-cheese, and a Caesar Salad. The craft beer selection was extensive.
We received a gift card for the Cohn group, so we came here. Before the game. Been wanting to try this spot for awhile. The atmosphere was great, not enough TV,s for a sports bar but foot was on, the beer was cold and the wings were perfect. The hint of smoke with the buffalo sauce. Awesome!! The wide had the Ruben. Pastrami thick sliced and smokey. Even i would have eaten it. ( not a fan of thousand island dressing or sauerkraut) however the server was very attentive.
Good sized portions as expected at a BBQ joint. A bit pricey but fair. The sides were actually a highlight. The brisket was good, but nothing to write home about if you've smoked your own, however the ribs were fantastic. Mac and cheese was great. Ambiance was fantastic, servers were super friendly, and beer selection was solid. Went on a weekend, so parking lot was packed , but overall good experience. A lot of options we didn't get to try. Overall solid spot, good BBQ, great for SDSU game nights, they also have a little arcade scene. We'll be back. Pictured are the brisket sandwich and a 2 meat combo (ribs and brisket).
This is in a neighborhood so it's calm as far as parking. There were plenty of spots when we went at lunch No wait for a table. The server was very friendly and helpful and the service itself was excellent. There were plenty of people to take care of your needs. We had the Reuben and Q burger. There are several sides to choose from. I got the salad and my friend got the chili. Both sandwiches were good The Reuben did not have a whole lot of meat and the dressing needed to be sweeter to complement the salty sandwich. But it was good! The Q burger was good but the chili was bland. It tasted like the beef in it had been boiled separately before it went into the chili..watery almost. Tea is good. The sweet tea had a hint of sweetness. Loved the dessert menu but did not have any. All in all, cool place with a fun atmosphere and great service. The Reuben was $20 and the burger similar. Kinda pricey!
Okay, let's just get to it, Hideout is great name due to the location of the restaurant A+. The food was superior in all sense of the word wings, cornbread, beans, Mac and cheese, tri-tip, pork belly, and brisket A+. Server Reese like the candy and the manager made sure the table was well taken care A+. The atmosphere allows people do bring all members of the family B+. The drinks were good could have benefitted from an extra 1/2 a shot, presentation awesome, and an average price point B. Very impressive on all points.

Sat at a picnic table, had a brisket combo with sides & a draft beer. Food was pretty good & the beer was cold. Portions were quite big (not a bad thing). Was the brisket 5/5? No, it was a touch …
Went to Del's hideout for a late dinner; getting there a little over an hour before closing. It was clean, quiet, service was friendly and quick. I ordered the Coastal burger on a gluten-free bun. It was delicious and huge... I had to cut into 4ths and even then it was a pleasant challenge to get a full bite and not nibble at it. Unfortunately, they were out of baked potatoes and with having a gluten allergy, my sides were a bit limited so I chose the potato salad. After tasting it sadly I found it was lacking. It was all (didn't taste like mayo) salad dressing flavor and no discernible "core memory" potato salad flavor one would expect. My partner had the smoked meatloaf and he said for the hype and price point he was very disappointed that it was a dry, meager portion. He requested I cook my Gram's meatloaf recipe the following night.
I may need to give this place another shot and try the BBQ, as that's its claim to fame, but this review is solely based on my experience. Allied Gardens doesn't have a lot of options, especially for burgers, so when my guy suggested burgers for dinner but didn't want to drive far, I headed to Yelp and found Del's. Prices are a bit high for bar food, but maybe you pay for atmosphere? The food was greasy and underseasoned. I was impressed with the green pepper rings. Creative! The onion rings lacked flavor but had that heavy, greasiness expected of bar food. The sliders were better but not amazing. As we were one of only a couple of tables occupied, service could have been faster.
In consideration of the prices, it was just OK. Very loud inside, with large TV screens everywhere - the one right in our face was an infomercial on repeat. The food was nothing special and the presentation was kinda lame. Won't be back.
Food was alright. Service was not too great. It wasn’t very busy and it was lacking- we sat at the bar top. Drinks were empty. A few of the bartenders just looking around but doing other things not paying attention. We had been done with our meal for a while, didn’t get another drink mid meal and waiting a while for our check.
Ordered the baby back ribs, which were not fall off the bone. They could have used more time cooking. Nothing is desirable about gnawing on a fatty bone that you can’t get the meat off of. We also had the smoked meatloaf, which was a total let down. Thinner slices of a seemingly processed meat - spam-like with a smoky flavor. Brisket chili was decent. So was the mac and cheese and the jalapeño hominy. Kids hamburger and fries were good for the kids. This was our second time here. Overall, we’ve decided it’s not somewhere we need to frequent for food. A lot of money for mediocre plates.
Was looking for a new bbq place to go and explore. Land this joint outside of my typical radius for food and it is really hidden away from the Main Street. Sat down and enjoyed the atmosphere. Service was alright but it is about what I like to give positive review for. The brisket was dry and unflavored (imo) and baby back ribs were pretty average. I had to pay $3 extra to get small size of Mac and cheese. In the end, I liked a regular fries out of while experience. I might have to say no for bbq from this place and just order wings instead smh

Really disappointed.. I had really high expectations after reading reviews but my experience was completely opposite of most reviews here. First when ordering over the phone, I order a family meal, that says it includes 3 sides, while ordering sides I'm told I will be upcharged for 2 of them. Then when I go to pick up my food, the guy who took my payment, took it upon himself to add a 20%tip to my bill for a pick up order without my permission. Then when I got home and opened the food the sides I paid extra for (Mac & Cheese and Chili) were so small and so messy. The cold food was in with the hot bbq meats so the potato salad was warm and the hot sides weren't hot. The brisket and pork was almost completely fat. It was unedible. So basically we didn't eat and had to order from somewhere else.
