**OB Surf Lodge - Ocean Beach, CA** ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was our second time dining at the OB Surf Lodge, and once again, it didn’t disappoint! The oceanfront setting is perfect for a relaxing breakfast, with fast and friendly service that makes you feel right at home. We chose a bar bench with a fantastic view of the surfers in the distance—absolutely ideal for soaking in the morning vibe. A word of advice: skip the parking garage next door! At $12 an hour, it's overpriced, and the empty garage had an unpleasant smell. Instead, we found free street parking for two hours, which saved us $24—definitely worth it! As for the food, it was simply amazing. Our hostess was helpful and suggested a few options; I went with the Pesto Baked Eggs with Sourdough toast, while Erik opted for Dave’s Breakfast Special. Both were delicious—clean plate club all around! It’s clear the ingredients are fresh, and the attention to detail really shows. I personally love trying something I would not make at home and this pesto egg bake was delicious! Even the manager made rounds to ensure everything was to our satisfaction, which was a nice touch. They are also dog friendly and have a PUP Menu available for your furry pet. Overall, OB Surf Lodge offers a delightful dining experience with stunning views and exceptional food. Highly recommend and can’t wait for next time!
One of my favorite restaurants in all of San Diego! I've been coming here for years! The bar is great! And all the seeds around the windows looking at on the ocean are amazing! Especially when they open up the windows and you get the Sea breeze coming in. It is on the second floor so there's nothing obstructing your view of the beach the pier, and the lifeguard station! Food is wonderful as well! It truly is a Wonderland!

The portions are a good size and the food is consistently excellent. The staff is friendly and if you sit at the rail on the patio the view is incredible. The merch is also nice. Pet friendly. It is a must to stop here every time we are in San Diego!

I absolutely loved breakfast here! I’d heard great things about the biscuits and gravy, so I ordered them as a side and wow, they were delicious. I also had the scramble, which was packed with generous portions of sausage, ham, bacon, etc. The eggs were fluffy and cooked perfectly. I added a waffle on the side, which was decent, but next time I’m definitely trying the French toast. We sat in a high booth toward the back and enjoyed a fantastic view of the pier and the ocean, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Great food, great atmosphere. I’d happily come back!
Great atmosphere and location to have a day time food or drink on the water. The food was outstanding, can tell the quality of goods are prioritized. It was fresh and flavorful. French toast breakfast meats and fruit. Happy with the size and portion of plates. Was hoping the service was faster but it was busy. Recommend getting there early.

OB Surf Lodge is an awesome spot, especially on a warm day with the ocean breeze coming through. I'll I had the crab cakes and a couple of beers — the crab cakes were excellent, and the Pina Colada IPA really stood out, super refreshing and unique. Great atmosphere overall, laid-back but lively, and it’s hard to beat the view and vibe right by the beach. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

The food was absolutely delicious! I got the Ahi tuna tacos with sweet potato fries! The portions are HUGE! They got the fish sandwich and falafel burger with garlic fries! The service was excellent and the views are amazing!
What a chill place to have brunch! Busy but service did a good job of keeping up. Had the breakfast burritos(bacon) plenty of food to share. Would suggest getting a sweet breakfast to share along with the burrito. Coffee was good and throw in the amazing view… will be back here again!
I've managed to find street parking here down Santa Monica Ave every time. OB Surf Lodge is the laid-back surfer-vibe restaurant to go to after a morning beach jog or surfing. I've gotten the beef machaca (shredded beef) breakfast burritos every time and they're always tasty with the spicy red salsa, though the salsa verde is also tasty. There are plenty of photos on their website of the food for the avid foodie trying to choose. I recommend coming here when visiting OB with friends, but it gets loud during brunch hours so be prepared to have light conversation accompanying your meal.

Great location with a nice view of the ocean and food to match. Highly recommended. Loved the country fried steak, perfectly done with mushroom gravy. Didn’t try the sausage gravy because we were told it was the sweet version and not a big fan of sweet gravy. The country potatoes were crisp and hot. Daughter loved the lodge burger as well. The spot was amazing 🤩 I loved the layout however, the food wasn’t fantastic and neither was the service. I’m not sure if they were short staffed on the floor or what but it seemed unorganized and our waitress seemed frazzled. The food, it was good but not great. My chicken was cooked so well but the there was little seasoning. The waffle was crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside but again, missing some flavor to put it over the top. The presentation was also so amazing. Maybe I will try some other things next time!

My friend mentioned they did like the food there. Awesome location. Right across from the beach. It was nice to sit out on the outside deck and enjoy our afternoon and people-watching! Friendly service but the place is a bit dirty! Probably will not return to this place because too many alternatives. Lots of bars and restaurants in the area that offer similar views but better drinks, service, and friendlier prices tag.
I have eaten here for breakfast probably about 10 times now and while I do love the food, the atmosphere and the view, the service has been quite lacking. This weekend was probably the worst it ever has been. Food is always good! I love the coffee as well. The only downside is sometimes you wait 10-15 minutes before a server comes over once you are seated, and there have been several times where I am waiting 20-30 minutes after I am finished eating for the bill to come. I feel like I might need to start closing the bill when they bring the food out so I can leave at a reasonable time after I am done eating. Again, I really love the food and the view, but the wait for service and to check out at the end honestly is making me not want to return. From the time we sit down to the time we leave is typically over an hour, sometimes closer to 1.5 hours and unfortunately, I just don't have that much time for breakfast in the morning. I really wish they could improve here.

Soo we must have came on an off day. My girlfriend and I were told the wait would be 15 minutes and after waiting more than 30, we went back to the hostess to check how much longer and we were told we were “somehow not saved” even though we got a confirmation text that we were on the waitlist. We were then seated at a poorly bussed table with a sticky surface and the floor had large water puddles. It took an additional 15 minutes for our waitress to come. They were clearly SEVERELY understaffed — to the point where they should have just closed for the day. I ordered the veggie power bowl with steak and my girlfriend ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich. The food was good BUT I found a METAL WIRE in my food that I accidentally ate and was chewing on. Overall our experience began to feel like an ordeal and we will not be back.
