Tip: Don't sleep on this spot! Try the chicken sandwich or carne asada tacos. Be prepared for a slightly longer wait than Starbucks, but it's worth it.

Hands down! My favorite place to come visit. There are a lot of great things about it! 1. Location: In the middle of City Heights and there is a parking lot with LOTS of parking. It's a small space but not too difficult to spot 2. Food: IS DELICIOUS. I get try to different foods from all different cultures. My favorite is the Loco Moco and Thai Chicken Salad, HOWEVER, I almost ALWAYS come here and order the Bev's Shake 3. Price: AMAZING! For the portion size and the types of food I am getting, totally worth it 4. Service: The staff and the serve are amazing and sweet. The amazing thing is that it hires teens from the neighborhood to teach them skills/earn income at the same time. I love the mission of UPAC and what this little cafe represents. Sometimes, I come and just sit to look at the mural and how it encompasses the values of City Heights is through the diversity.
Where else can you get delicious Thai chicken, a breakfast burrito, a coconut sambusa, or Ugandan breakfast wrap in one place all for an affordable price? Generous sized smoothies, great coffee. Can only recommend everyone heads over there for breakfast or lunch
This place is for sure the best. It’s better than Starbucks—the wait time is a little longer, but it’s for sure better than Starbucks!

First time at this hidden gem! Loved the mixed menu, food was great, out hot and fast, and at that price... can not be beat! Stop by if you are in the area, very worth it. I got the tacos, a side of fries, and a Vietnamese coffee. It was tasty AND filling. I took home my leftovers. Additionally, they had tasty bakery items. The cookies were so soft! Ample parking when we arrived and more than enough indoor seating. GREAT customer service. :)
People say "Good food. Great vibe." But it's *true.* Great "spicy" chicken sandwich. It's a sandwich with a spicy nudge in a good way. Will come again.
I worked with The Neighborhood Cafe, specifically Joe and Chef Eddie, to cater my wedding, and they did an incredible job from start to finish. They created a custom, gluten free menu based on all of our favorite foods and were thoughtful about helping us stay within budget without compromising quality or flavor. The serving sizes were generous. We had plenty of food left over, and guests were able to go back for seconds and thirds. What really stood out was how thorough they were in the planning process. Joe and Chef Eddie visited the venue ahead of time to anticipate any delivery or setup challenges, and they helped me figure out exactly how many chafing dishes, hot boxes, and other pieces of equipment we would need to keep everything running smoothly. I couldn’t be happier with the experience. If you’re looking for reliable, professional, and genuinely thoughtful catering, I highly recommend The Neighborhood Cafe.
A great place with wonderful food and staff! Its very quiet and calm inside, would be great for working or studying quietly.
This hidden gem has become my go-to morning spot. Their pour-over coffee is meticulously prepared, and the baristas remember regular customers’ orders. The atmosphere is cozy with plenty of natural light and comfortable seating for working remotely.
Very good prices throughout the menu. I sat in the Cafe and was brought my order pretty quickly. I changed out the croissant bread on my sandwich for squaw bread and I was disappointed that it wasn't toasted but all the other ingredients were good so I still liked it. It had lots of turkey, and the cranberry mayo on the sandwich was a nice touch. I also got Thai tea and it had a nice bold flavor the way I love it. My receipt had wifi login information for easy access and I was able to stay and do some work on my phone after I finished my meal. The atmosphere was very slow and all the employees I spoke to were very kind.
Based on the small number of reviews for this place and our wonderful experience, it's clear this restaurant is an undiscovered gem. Tucked away in a working-class neighborhood strip center whose tenants cater to the community's social service needs, the Neighborhood Cafe offers absolutely delicious sandwiches, more substantial meals, smoothies and desserts. I had a turkey sandwich, which is served on a croissant, with sliced cheese and if you want, added veggies. It was satisfyingly yummy. Hubby and I shared a mango smoothie, which was, hands down, the best smoothie I've ever enjoyed. He agreed. He ordered the chicken adobo, which was also excellent I highly recommend this eatery!
The samosas were delicious and the matcha latte was super tasty. The team are super friendly, helpful and passionate about their work. I highly recommend the Neighborhood Cafe!
I just had the best chicken sandwich of my life at Neighborhood Cafe! Super friendly staff and delicious, fresh food. The prices are much lower than you would expect for such a great meal. The chicken sandwich was only $6.50, to give you an idea. Would definitely go back. 10/10!
I got an iced chai and a breakfast burrito. Pretty good and reasonably priced. Staff is nice.
I ordered a carne asada taco and a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was really good and you could tell it was homemade. The carne asada was good, the sauce it a little spicy but not too bad. I wish the taco had come with lime or guacamole - it would have been the perfect addition. Hope to be back soon especially since it's right around the corner from work.
The carne asada tacos here are really good and the staff was very friendly. The Ugandan Rolex burrito was also really nice. Its basically a carmelized omlet wrapped up in a tortilla burrito-style😄 I will be back😎
This was my first time at this amazing cafe and will definitely not be my last! Every single item they served was delicious😋 I had a great experience and the staff was so friendly! You just feel so welcomed😊
Menu is on their website. Catering menu will impress. This place actively supports the City Heights Community and mentors the youth. Don't sleep on this spot.

I joined someone for lunch. Unfortunately, I was unable to partake due to an onion allergy.... But my brother, thoroughly enjoyed the food.... I did eat some french fries. They were shoestring french fries cooked very, well. I enjoyed them. And I love fries. People mess up fries all the time. Establishment was clean and staff was very, very nice.

Not really sure a out all those hipster bars. They didn't have any label alcohol. When we ask for Jack nop, Johnny walker nop, cyroc nop. Then my friend ask for a menu twice and was ignore. Of you don't have the liquor that we ask may we get a menu please. It took 20 minutes till another server brought us a menu. I ask for a glass of Mabelc wine. Then for another and they brought a different wine. Other than that the stablishment had a Clean atmosphere, the bathroom were clean. Good location.

Try out this place the neighborhood cafe. It's bomb and cheaper than most place. A huge plate of food is about 7-8 buck and I got a vietnamese coffee with boba for 4 buck. This place is awesome and nice workers who brought food to me which I don't see ever. It's a collab with UPAC that's why they're awesome. Enjoy! You won't regret. Sorry no pic of the vietnamese ice coffee, I drank it all in like 5 minutes. Lol 20 buck for two days worth of food. Heck yes! Update: dropped 2 stars. Everytime I come they always have something up. Like today, no boba. It's 330pm. Last time closed on me. I came at 4pm. Last Last time, no more chicken. I'm giving up on this place and maybe why no customers?? Update 2 12/21/23 Haven't gotten to eat here for over month now. Always closed down or food isn't available 1 hour or 2 hours before closing time. I'm giving up on this place. Dropped to one star. The hypes gone... would be nice if this place can open around 9am and serve everything cuz lunch starts at 11am... this place says close at 5, they really close at 330pm or sometimes 3pm because food runs out. Dissapointing.
