We spent Valentine's day 2026 here. I'm glad we made a reservation, the line was long. My favorite is their Garlic Mizkthra pasta. It doesn't come with shrimps I ordered some on the side. Their scampi was filling

We had a wonderful time at The Old Spaghetti Factory! I brought my dad to celebrate early since I work tomorrow, and everything was just perfect. Tyrone Corleone accompanied us. The food was delicious — we had generous portions, and all three of us had leftovers to enjoy again later (bonus!). I especially loved that they still offer the Mizithra cheese and clam sauce — a childhood favorite! Prices were very reasonable for a party of three. The atmosphere was cozy and charming, from the vintage booths to the vibrant views outside. We also really appreciated that they take reservations — it made everything so easy. Our server was kind and attentive, promptly clearing dishes and keeping everything moving smoothly. A great place for good food, good service, and good memories. Highly recommend!

Amazing restaurant! Was in San Diego for vacation and tried out the OSF in the Gaslamp Quarter. Had the spaghetti with marinara, broccoli with brown butter and cheese, and the minestrone soup. Ice cream was also served at the end. I really liked the flavor of the broccoli, and the marinara sauce was just right and not overly salty like at other chain restaurants. Overall it was a really good deal for the 3 course meal! I even went back a second time before I left San Diego.

Food was great (they make their chicken parm a little more on the non-traditional side : it was more like a thick baked grilled chicken with fresh mozzarella and sauce) didn't care for that too much as im used to a flat, breaded cutlet, but besides that, everything was great and the staff was so nice and attentive. Prices were fair and reasonable too with all that u get. GET THE SPECIALTY GREEK PASTA DISH (I FORGET THE NAME BUT WOWWW WAS THAT DELICIOUS 😋 ) !!!!!

This location is really nice! Always crave this place when in town. Kenny our waiter was sweet and awesome all around. He was very friendly and added a lot of charm to his service. I asked him what was his favorite dish and he recommended the spinach and cheese raviolis with garlic Alfredo. I’m not a white sauce type of guy but he sold me on it and it was delicious! I always recommend the Spumoni ice cream..it never disappoints!

I can't get enough about that sourdough bread! It's amazing! Looks plain, but it's so delicious, I would go just for that bread The food tastes fresh and crisp. Will go there again.

Very delicious Italian restaurant in Gaslamp quarter. We went for dinner and the food was very delicious! For appetizers we shared the cheese bread and fried calamari. With an entree you get a side so I had the Ceasar salad. We also received house bread. Plenty of food you’ll leave stuffed! For my main dish I had the pesto Alfredo pasta and it was very delicious and a large portion. If you’re in the area I definitely recommend coming here!

Okay so this place was amazing! We were in San Diego for our anniversary and this place was top notch. I know people go here for the tacos and bbq but this Italian food was amazing. I had chicken fettuccine both times that we went there. The chicken was melt in your mouth and the sauce was not oily at all. My husband had lasagna the first time and was blown away. The second night he has crab and lobster ravioli and was again blown away. We also had garlic cheese bread for an appetizer and the bread was so soft and fluffy and the cheese was nice and melted. Our severs were nice and the service was great as well. I wish there was this restaurant in Nebraska because that would be my go to place.

It's a wonderful place to eat. They have great food, friendly and fun staff, and usually have fairly short wait times, even during Comic-Con. The food is reliably delicious every time, with generous portions and a small dessert included. We make it a point to come every time we are in San Diego.

Went there during happy hour. Tried the managers special... 2 sauces to taste. My husband had the clam pasta w shrimp on the side. We also oderered 2 appetizers. Everything was pretty tasty for a good price, being about $40 in total. The service to be seated wasn't too great but other than that everything was nice. The lady tried to seat us in an area that was for 4 and a bit bland. We ask for a booth and her attitude changed to annoyed. She then sped off in front of us and guided us up stairs. We shrugged the encounter off because the seats in comparison were what we asked for.

Absolutely love this place! My daughter’s first time here and she loved the food. The wait was a bit long just to place and order for our drinks however I was able to spend some quality time with my daughter. Would definitely come back again , hope the wait isn’t that long next time

This is by far the best bang for the buck in San Diego. You are no going to find an affordable 5 stars restaurant like this in California. Everything we had was perfectly done and served in a decent time. Portions are perfect. You can’t go wrong with any of the appetizers, they are all delicious. Also, salsas and sizes with the house dressings. I will def comeback and bring my friends and family.

Service was average, but a little slow had to wait quite a while for refills of water. We had the lasagna which was pretty good and also the spaghetti with marinara sauce and Sicilian meatballs which was pretty bland. Also, tried the minestrone soup, no flavor at all. The best part of the meal was the fresh baked sourdough loaf for the table. Very good. Had the spumoni ice cream for dessert, not bad.

The GOOD: their Steamed Broccoli served with their delicious grated Mizithra cheese on top, their Chicken Piccata entree, their spumoni ice cream dessert. The BAD: Parking in the Gaslamp, we got fortunate as it was a mid-week Wednesday dinner. Had it been on the weekend, forget about it. It would've been impossible to find parking on the street, or expensive to pay for parking in the nearby parking structures. Way back in the day all their dinner entrees came with milk, coffee or iced tea included with your meal. Neither GOOD nor BAD: Service was just okay. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to write home about as far as exceedingly good. After ordering, it took quite a bit of time before their complimentary sourdough bread and butter arrived. They accept AMEX for payment, dining room (3rd floor by the bar) and restroom was clean and tidy. Food was reasonably priced and portions were adequate for what you pay for. The restaurant was consistent with other OSF dining experiences if you're familiar with the brand.

Spacious spot that works well for big groups. Portion sizes were solid, and the three-course meal was pretty budget-friendly. Food was decent overall—not amazing, but it did the job.

The Old Spaghetti Factory is a place I have been going to for about 30 years. The best thing about it and why I keep going back is the consistency. It isn't the most high end food but it tastes the same it did from the first time I started going when I was in diapers. The first change maybe 10 years ago was instead of garlic butter and normal butter they went to just offering butter with the bread. That was disappointing but the other butter still tasted the same so I could live with it. I think the change was so they could now sell garlic bread separately for a high price. Then they took away the drink with the meal (ice tea, milk, coffee) which kind of sucked but oh well. Up until now the only other change has been the prices keep going up a lot and they keep adding weird new items. I swear from 2000 to 2010 the price may have gone up 2 dollars for standard spaghetti meal. From 2010 to 2020 maybe another 2-3 dollars. From 2020 to 2025 at least 6-7 dollar increase! That is like triple the price it used to be and the price of pasta has pretty much stayed the same. The final straw was a recent visit and the butter has now changed to some kind of strange margerine with a horrible after taste. I couldn't even enjoy the bread anymore with such a bad tasting butter. Unfortunately, this may be my last visit with the price increase and the weird cost cutting changes (plastic water cups) I can't justify spending 20 plus dollars for a meal anymore for this pretty average food. Changing the butter to some strange chemical mixture was the last straw.

made a reservation to attempt to avoid costly parking. getting an Uber is out of the question we are comming from Pine Valley so Uber is just out of the question. we arrive at the location early, wait time was very minimal. once we got our table the waiter was very friendly, very professional. we got our bread and our appetizers late, atleast it seemed like it took a while. we got the kids food ordered and our food, since we had lots of time to check the menu, unfortunately the menu is very small... a good thing also. it ahould mean that a small menu... should mean very good food. atleast... they should be able to perfect and make really good. The bread was very good, seems made in house. the cheese bread was also very good. They forgot our salads and the kiddos apple sauce. apple sauce also looked made in house. salads looked good. My food was ok, not great or phenomenal. I ordered the breast of chicken fettucine. the chicken was waaaay overcooked, properly seasoned but overkoocked. It felt like I was eating wood dust. the pasta was properly cooked but lacking seasoning. almost as if the pasta was boiled in unseasoned water. the mushrooms were phenomenal, probably the best of all the ingredients. the brocoli was just boiled, not seasoned or buttered. the alfredo sauce was broken. The server tried his best but seemed like he was overwhelmed. the lighting is nice for a very romantic setting. we also had the spumoni which was a huge letdown. it was just napolitan ice cream not spumoni. it was missing all the actual fruit and nuts like a traditional spumoni. overal the trip was ok, not great. a place I can say I visited and dinnned in but probably wont be comming back and cant really recomend.

I heard good thing from were we were staying. First time in here for a work conference and i just proposed to my girlfriend wanted to take her out yo a nice dinner and she was exited about it but it turned out not good. The guy that sat us down was good and got us bread but after that our server took our order the i did not see him until I gave him the card to pay for the meal. The cook brought us our food and refilled our drinks the bar man took our plates and told our server we were whating for our check. Food was good but not planing on going back.

Extremely mediocre food. The best part of the meal was the bread and water... My grandma and I ordered the Mizithra brown butter and marinara spaghetti. The Mizithra was just dry, and did not mix into the butter. The marinara was supposed to come with carrots and onion, but had neither, unless it was in the sauce already. I could make better spaghetti at home with a jar of classico. Great service and atmosphere. Please update your kitchen SOP's.

Im very sad! This was a traditional restaurant for my family, we have been coming since 1986 or as far as I can remember. The food was disappointed, the fetuccine alfredo was not cremy, the lasagna was ok. The service was very bad, they even gave us some appetizersfor free. The bathrooms were not clean and the restaurantwas very empty for a Thursday nights.

The service was awesome but we don't care about the food. Nothing really outstanding about the food here. Even the margarita was blah. We tried here because we do not have this back at home. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo Fettuccine and my husband ordered the Italian Sausage spaghetti. OG was way way better.

K
Kim Knight

The three courses are a great perk but the salad was iceberg lettuce with a teaspoon of dressing and the chicken parm and pasta were bland. Our group of 8 was one of maybe 5 groups in the whole place and the service was incredible slow. At one point we even had to go find a different waiter just to get our ice cream because we hadn’t even seen ours for 15 minutes. Definitely disappointing for a place with all the nostalgia.

Parishia
Parishia

This is disappointing. I ordered the kids alfredo and I can't eat it, the noodles are undercooked, the diced chicken is extremely dry, they forgot my ice cream and didn't give me any utensils, that is actually MY fork. I've never had a problem at the Phoenix location, some of the food in the Gaslamp is just inedible, mad I paid $10 for this. The people that bring the food out to you when you are ordering to go do not check the bags, so if you don't check your bags before you leave you will have items missing. This happens to me every time, so if you don't want to have any problems then I suggest you not come to this restaurant.

We waited 1.5h for the strangest-tasting meal ever. Not sure why the long wait, especially since tables (of the same size) who arrived 5-30 minutes after us were served before us. My lobster and crab ravioli tasted like caramel, and the balsamic vinegar on my salad was sweet. My coworker's lasagna had thick, doughy, almost impenetrable sheets. If you appreciate edible food, you might want to give this a miss.
