Dang the pastrami sandwich is pretty darn good! For a reasonable price for $12 too! 5 bread choices. Simply sandwich. Mayo mustard bread meat cheese! I forced myself to eat the whole thing but I probably only needed half but it will get soggy so I didn’t want to waste it. Parking is a bit horrible so if you see a spot take it and walk!

Incredible bang for your buck at AK Subs! The food was phenomenal. I got the pastrami sandwich as well as the soup of the day (corn chowder). I went in with fairly high expectations based on other reviews, and was still blown away. The sandwich was stuffed with meat, the cheese melded nicely with the natural gelatin in the pastrami, and it was tied together perfectly with a solid punch of mustardy goodness. On a totally unrelated note, I was also pleasantly surprised by the corn chowder - I wasn't expecting it, but it actually had a nice little kick! Other than the food, it's worth mentioning that the staff was super friendly and very welcoming. If you're in the neighborhood, pop by and grab a sandwich!

There were lots of negative reviews about it location and car break-ins. I go by there 3-4 times a week and never see any problems. Didn't have any probs when I went there. The sandwiches were awesome. I will go back.

This place is insanely delicious. Huge sandwiches but even better flavor. Working my way through the menu and haven't had a bad sandwich yet. I recommend Die's Decadence plus bacon. Half way through the sandwich, look North and you will see God.

I live in the neighborhood and this is hands down my favorite sandwich and coffee in Soma. I love the Die's Decadence but my usual order is a breakfast sandwich on a bagel with a large mocha. The owners are always quick and kind and I am never let down. Prices are some of the best in SF

Highly recommend. Ordered a large catering order just a few days before, and the staff was incredibly helpful on the phone and gave us a great, competitive rate, and accommodated our dietary issues. I asked for the food to be delivered at an earlier time over the phone just a few hours before, and they said yes, even delivering it before the selected time.

This place is amazing, the food was top notch! I had the Philly cheesesteak and every component was seasoned to perfection! The price was pretty decent for such a huge sandwich, and the speed with which I received it for takeout was really fast. Plus, access to Sriracha sauce right on the counter for the fries? Yaas queen! Only downside is it was kinda cramped inside and I had to squeeze past a few people, but the exit is in the back so only had to do that once.

By far the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. I make it a point to come here at least once a week. Half the price of the sandwich shop a couple blocks away and double the taste. Very good fish and chips too!

I’ve eaten something from here at least 5-6 times. Mostly the Poor Sub and Straight Turkey sandwiches. Always order from their site online and pickup and works without a hitch. Every one of their sandwiches tastes awesome and is always ready exactly when they promise. Several of my colleagues love this place, too. Gonna branch out to their burgers soon. Highly recommend.

I like this sandwich shop a lot and have eaten here on and off over the years. They make a really good sandwich, have all the classics like hot pastrami, but also have a lot of interesting specials. Never thought I'd like a turkey sandwich with alfalfa sprouts and mushrooms but it was really great!

I am VERY picky with my food and this place is soo good! The staff are so sweet and make the experience 10x better. I came in for breakfast and ordered the build your own breakfast, everything was made on the spot so it’s very fresh and the food was amazing. I got a side of avocado, and it was fresh, which I was very happy with. Also was offered some watermelon juice and it was BOMB! This is my new go to food spot for when im at work✨. Highly recommend

The dude behind the counter blessed me with so many baked goods thanks to the Too Good To Go app just now. Big Sandwiches for the price! Great quality meats. Love the hot pastrami and grilled chicken sandwich. Try the chicken salad w/ mixed greens. Really healthy and filling. They have a fluffy wheat roll as well! Definitely my go to place anytime I am around the SOMA district. You really can't go wrong here. The owners are super chill. Would be great if they opened one of these on the west side of SF

Hands down best pastrami sandwich in San Francisco. Been going here once a week and still love it.

I mean, you'll get exactly what you're expecting. The omlette with all the veggies, pepper jack cheese, plus a coffee is a really good price for SF, and tasty! The Sumatra was really good! Their parklet is nice, well shaded and good picnic tables. It's almost the diner feel that I've wanted in SF for the past 15 years. If I could have that coffee, plus wifi for work, and pecan pie, I would do the whole morning there and then get some kind of veggie sandwich for much too.

I’m so mad at myself, I’ve been living in this neighborhood all my life and it took me 30 years to cross the street & try AK for the first time. It is delicious not only did I come for breakfast i had to come back the same day for lunch 🥪. Atmosphere is cozy friendly service and friendly customers. I repeat it’s delicious 😋

Saw this place as I was driving by and decided to give it a try, boy am I glad I did! Terri(Terry, not sure how to spell it sorry!) was very kind and helpful and was also kind enough to include pepperocini in my meatball sub. Took a bite and it was amazing! The lady here was very nice, the sandwitch was delicious and a good price. Definitley a classic sandwich sub shop with chips and soda and also popular with folks in the neighborhood.

Polite service. Very good bagels. The jalapenos are quite spicy so if recommend go with the cheese or basic. The broccoli soup was nice though it had a little too much pepper.

I love their outdoor and indoor seating options. They have a great food selection, friendly staff, and quick service. For the price they could throw in some chips or something. Other than that, I’ve been loving it.

This was my favorite place for lunch for 10 years. The crew memorized my order and always make my sandwich with artistic perfection. The crowd outside can be a bit sketchy, but there's a tiny parking lot which makes this place ideal. Bread is always ultra fresh.

It's possible that I just went on a bad day, but I tried to call ahead to place my order so I could get in and out ASAP. I ended up being on hold for close to 5 minutes, and ended up being able to walk in and order from the register instead. A lot of people were there for their smoothies, but I just got Die's Decadence and a side from their deli. It was decent, or better than average. Behind the counter seemed a little dirty, and I was not a fan of how the staff conducted themselves in front of customers. There was some issue in the kitchen, and the tension was exuded from the kitchen to the rest of the shop.

Better than Subway, but nothing mind blowing. Friendly staff, so a strong 3 stars. Not sure why the average rating is almost 5 stars—the place isn’t life-changing.

Ordered the Fish-n-chips, received 3 pieces fish that was the over cooked and the size of 2 tater tots put together. Way over priced. Won't order that again.

I watched the Cook cross contaminate everything in the kitchen with no gloves touching raw chicken immediately putting his hands in my fries and serving them to me and everybody else in the restaurant. When I brought it up to the owners attention he didn’t say a single word and just handed me five dollars wile the cooks were apologizing. Terrible customer service

Ordered by Uber eats. Never been to California and wanted something different. First, missing one of my drinks, 2nd, food was all.cold and bread, meat and cheese were hard! Fries were disgusting and soggy w. Hardly anything on them. This could have been bc our delivery driver had other deliveries before bringing ours, but even if that's the case, there was hardly anything but bread. Won't let me add the pictures

Came here at 3 an hour before closing and said they would not be serving any longer. Kind of crazy to think since making a sandwich can’t take any longer than 5 minutes. Unfortunately won’t be trying this place out. And if your hours actually changed back in February, I’m going to take a guess and say it doesn’t take 6 months to update your hours on both Google and Yelp.
