Just happened upon this fun restaurant as I was walking the Haight Ashberry area. I was seated at the bar. They have a good selection of mixed drinks beer and wine. The bartender server was very friendly and had recommendations of places to visit. The food was amazing. I had the pepper and onion sandwich. It was very good. I recommend this as a great stop for food, people, and atmosphere.
Stopped by for lunch after a friend recommended this place. The staff were super friendly, and the bright, colorful vibe made it a fun spot to visit. The food was really good and I would definitely recommend it if you’re in San Francisco!
The food was delicious and service, excellent! It’s been years since I’ve been back and had to get that Cajun shrimp, it’s a must. We were so full just off the quesadilla and shrimp, had to box the rest. Thanks for the wonderful experience, Cha Cha Cha. 🫶🏼
Such a fun comfort food spot. Always leave will a satisfied belly and a smile. Evening menu options are superior to the lunch options but lots of crossover.
Everything you want from a Caribbean restaurant. Food was amazing. We ordered and shared a bunch of plates and they were all on point. Sangrias are a must. Service was attentive and friendly. Clean restaurant. It is busy but manageable. Located in a cool area in SF, the entire visit is a vibe.
Thank you to the Cha Cha Cha team for making our New Year’s Eve night special! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a beautiful smile from our host who sat us right away. The ambiance was warm and delightful and our servers made our dinning experience one of a kind! The ceviche was soo delicious! We also ordered the steamed mussels, the bbq chicken quesadilla & the rice & beans. All of it was so yummy! Oh! And the sangria was on hit! This will be a night we will always remember! I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s and may everyone have a blessed 2026!!
Gone through several owners over the decades, but the quality of the food still remains fantastic. Sat outside in the back where heaters kept us warm. Ate our usual shrimp, banana black bean, muscle, ceviche, jerk chicken, and a pitcher of Sangria. Forgot that they had half pitcher because a full one was too much for 2 person.
Located on Haight Street, across the street from Kezar arena. This is a fun Caribbean restaurant is a great place to enjoy delicious food and sangria! I highly recommend their The paella mixta, which is Spanish rice with saffron, mussels, clams, chunks of fish and shrimp. We loved their cajun shrimp, which was more like a spicy, coconut-tomato bisque soup with shrimp. Served with slices of bread. Their breaded calamari was a great appetizer.
The food I had delivered from this Spanish restaurant was excellent . The Spanish rice was the fantastic and the chicken was finger licking delicious. I highly recommend people try this place out if they are ever interested in having Spanish food for lunch or dinner. I wish I could give them 40 stars ⭐️
Cha Cha Cha - A Burst of Caribbean Flavor and Fun!Cha Cha Cha is one of those quintessential San Francisco spots that just gets it. With locations in the Mission and Haight (I'm reviewing the vibe of both, as they share that distinct energy!), it's the perfect place to dive into vibrant Caribbean flavors, strong sangria, and an atmosphere that feels like a perpetual party. Atmosphere: From the moment you step in, Cha Cha Cha hits you with its lively, colorful, and slightly chaotic charm. Think eclectic decor, loud salsa music, and a constant buzz of conversation and laughter. It's not a quiet, intimate dinner spot – it's a place to let loose, share plates, and soak in the energy. The dim lighting and vibrant art on the walls add to the unique, bohemian vibe. Be prepared for a wait, especially during peak hours, but the energy makes it part of the experience. Food: The tapas-style menu is designed for sharing, and everything is packed with flavor. My absolute must-haves are the Fried Plantains (perfectly sweet and soft), the Cajun Shrimp (spicy, garlicky, and utterly addictive), and the Patatas Bravas (crispy potatoes with a fantastic spicy sauce). Their Jerk Chicken is also a standout, tender and well-spiced. And you absolutely cannot leave without trying their Sangria – it's dangerously delicious and flows freely, enhancing the festive mood. Portions are generous for tapas, so order a few to share and explore! Service: Despite the constant hustle and bustle, the service at Cha Cha Cha is surprisingly efficient and friendly. The staff are adept at navigating the crowded tables, taking orders quickly, and keeping the drinks flowing. They're generally laid-back but attentive, adding to the overall relaxed party atmosphere. Don't expect white-glove service; expect genuine, quick, and unpretentious interactions. Overall: Cha Cha Cha is more than just a meal; it's an experience. It's the kind of place you go with friends when you want good food, great drinks, and a guaranteed good time. The flavors are bold, the music is loud, and the sangria is potent. It's a true San Francisco institution for a reason, offering a slice of Caribbean sunshine even on the foggiest days. Come ready to share, laugh, and perhaps even dance in your seat! Pro Tip: Get there early or be prepared to put your name down and grab a drink at the bar while you wait. The sangria is worth the wait!
tl;dr the steak sandwich is as good as people say, the new potatoes deserve their own fan club, and the frozen mojito is *chefs kiss*. Service was warm without being clingy, and I’m already planning my return for the nighttime bar vibe. Wow, Cha Cha Cha absolutely lives up to the hype. I came in curious and left full and grinning. The steak sandwich was everything I hoped for: Juicy, rich, and totally satisfying, and the new potatoes it came with were just plain addictive. Crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and seasoned like someone in the kitchen really cares. What really sealed the deal, though, was the service. That Latin-style warmth was spot on: welcoming, relaxed, and never overbearing. It felt like dining at a friend’s place who actually knows how to host. Bonus points for the frozen mojito, super refreshing, light on sugar, heavy on flavor, and dangerously easy to sip. Daytime atmosphere was fun and upbeat, but nothing off-putting. I’ll definitely be back to scope out the evening energy and see if the bar scene brings a different kind of magic. Can’t wait for round two. Let’s see if the mojitos hold up after dark.
Delicious Cuban Caribbean fusion fare in a colorful setting will definitely make you smile! This place is energetic, happy and authentic. A must try is the Cajun shrimp served in a creamy sauce that is full of flavor but not overly spicy. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. The arroz con pollo with grilled chicken was fresh and flavorful. Rice was awesome! Guacamole and chips were as expected. The entire staff was gracious and friendly. Our waiter helped us with our selections and provided great suggestions. I would definitely come back! Highly recommend!
This place is DELICIOUS. I went spontaneously one night with a friend and literally everything we had was so good. For appetizers we had potatoes with a delicious aioli, and mushrooms. I’ve never eaten mushrooms by themselves before and was beyond pleasantly surprised with how yummy they were. Dipping the potatoes in the mushroom juice was a gustatory alignment by the gods. My friend got the mariscada which he really enjoyed and I got the lamb. When I tell you this lamb was so tender you didn’t even have to chew it. Fall-off-the-bone-oxtail vibes. We ended our meal with the friend plantains, no sour cream or beans but instead some kind of sweet sauce that was so damn yummy. Even without the dipping sauce the plantains by themselves we deliciously good. In addition to the complete 10/10 food, the service was wonderful. We came in about 45 minutes before closing and were immediately seated and tended to. The waiter was really nice and came by to refill our waters without us needing to ask. He also offered to package our food when we asked for boxes. Lastly, the atmosphere was much appreciated. I enjoyed the music, the artwork on the walls including pictures, paintings, and various 3D artwork with caribbean roots. I bet this place is pretty lively on a weekend. I wish we had gotten there earlier and could have enjoyed some drinks, I have full faith they would have been just as good as the food. I’ll definitely be coming back to this place to try more dishes and I highly recommend it to anyone considering.
Came here years ago, twice, with a friend. We always love the Cajun shrimp, even though I don’t eat shrimp. The sauce is my favorite thing, especially with bread. Wish I can drink a gallon of that Cajun sauce!!! Come back here with my wife, and we ordered yucca fries, Spanish rice/chicken with beans, and salmon/salad/plantains dish. The yucca fries (which had more on the dish) was crispy and paired well with the sauce. My wife couldn’t finish the chicken rice dish - it was a lot of food! My salmon dish was excellent, loved the spinach salad and the fish was great. The plantains was great, just wish it came with sour cream because it can be a bit dry - I’m Salvadoran and we eat plantains with beans/sour cream. Other than that, fantastic restaurant and food!!! 😋😋😋
The food was delicious, the fried bananas with black beans were unique but full of flavor. The paella mix was fresh as was the fish in it. The sangria was delicious and I should have ordered another one. Prices were extremely fair and wait staff was attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend this place to eat!
The decor is a vibe in itself. We got the big pitcher of Sangria, great choice! We also got the amazing Cajun garlic shrimp which has a sauce you can dip anything in and the paella which was fresh and flavorful. I wish we tried the jerk chicken, we did get the chicken wings and plantains which were good but the jerk chicken would have rounded out the meal . Definitely recommend tho 🔥✊🏾

This place was great: Friendly servers, a laidback vibe and quirky decor, plus the shrimp dish was droolicious - would go back just for that!
Fun atmosphere for a group hangout, my go to is the jerk chicken and the sangria! Not super special but def a crowd pleaser
Cha Cha Cha isn’t your typical tapas spot—and that’s exactly what makes it special. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and the vibe is full of energy and warmth. We ordered a range of dishes, and each one brought something to the table. The Lechón Asado was tender and flavorful, with rich adobo criollo seasoning and a side of yucca con mojo that added just the right touch of comfort. The Scallop Creole was delicate and savory, served over perfectly cooked white rice. The Ceviche brought that zesty citrus punch we were hoping for—fresh, bright, and just the right amount of heat. But the real star of the night? Plátanos Maduros. Sweet, caramelized, and paired with black beans and sour cream—absolutely unforgettable. We’d come back just for those. Some of the dishes could’ve used a touch more salt, but overall, the flavors were strong and satisfying. What made the night even more special was the live band playing during our visit—it added a fun, lively energy that made the whole evening feel like a celebration. My partner has a lot of great memories at this restaurant, and he wanted me to experience it too. Sharing that with him made the night even more meaningful. Definitely a date night to remember. Cha Cha Cha is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience full of flavor, music, and heart.
Great for large parties to share food and drinks! My second time here and I would say my experiences have been consistent. Came in on a sat night and put our names down for a group of 3, waited for 20 minutes but we just walked next door for a quick drink. Very busy, lots going on at all times. Service can be a little bit over the place but if you holler to get someone's attention I don't think anyone will bat an eye. Lots of drink options available for pitchers! In terms of food, our favorite was the yucca fries! Comes out warm and crunchy, very good. We were confused by the food order. The paella came first followed by ceviche and plantains and the ropa vieja, and the yucca fries were last? The paella mixta was good, we liked how the seafood was cooked just right. Plantains I thought could be fried a bit more but still very sweet. I enjoyed the flavors of the ropa vieja a lot. A decent meal overall.
Really cool bar with a great food menu on the happy hours! We needed some mid afternoon snack and we walked past this place and their menu is great. Many options for small food and snacks. We sat at the bar and had some empanadas and cheese sandwiches and some margaritas. The mains also look wonderful but we didn't get a chance to try it.

Very disappointing dining experience overall. The food was far below expectations. The menu highlights their “famous” sangria, but it turned out to be quite ordinary and nothing special. The ceviche had a strong fishy taste that made it difficult to eat. The voodoo pasta was extremely oily and heavy — it might appeal to some people, but it is definitely not worth the price. The service was also lacking. No one came to refill water or check in on our experience, and we did not feel the level of respect or attentiveness that should come with a restaurant at this price point. Despite this, I still left a decent tip, but overall, I would not recommend this place.
Nice atmosphere & music. Sangria was good. I got the chicken wings and ceviche. Both lacked flavor. Order was ready in literally 2 mins, so im guessing they just popped the wings in the microwave & scooped up the ceviche. Couldn't finish, such a disappointing meal.
We had been looking forward to dining at this restaurant for several years, and unfortunately our visit today was deeply disappointing. The food lacked flavor entirely. I ordered the vegetarian paella and my husband had the arroz con pollo—both dishes were bland and underwhelming. The menu highlights their sangria as “the best,” which was not our experience. Additionally, our server did not check on us at any point after placing our order, nor did they inquire whether we needed anything else. Given the cost and the anticipation we had, the experience felt like a complete waste of both time and money. We would have been far better off returning to our favorite pizza place, which is more affordable and consistently excellent. I would not recommend dining here.
**WARNING: ROACH IN DRINK** Went here for dinner after returning our ebike with the rental shop across the street. It smelled good and the bike guy recommended it. The place wasnt the cleanest looking place but we gave it the benefit of the doubt. Menu looked to have a good variety of items and drinks. As I was waiting for my bf to return from the bathroom, our drinks and calamari arrived. I took a photo of our drinks. I took a sip of mine, stirred it up, and took another sip. When I realize, there is something dark sitting at the top of the drink, IT WAS A COCKROACH. A ROACH WITH AN EGG SAC COMING OUT OF IT. I didnt notice it at first bc the roach was floating mid cup. I guess after i stirred it, it popped up to the top. I was disgusted. We immediately got up because I was not going to continue eating there. My bf pointed it out, gave the drink back. Staff just showed each other and kinda put the drink to the side. The server passed us as we were grabbing our things to leave and said "so sorry about that". Im just so disgusted that i actually took 2 sips from that...
