This place is a must-try for people who are hankering for Singapore food, or wondering what food Singapore is famous for. My born-and-raised in Singapore husband gave a thumbs up for their Seafood Laksa and Hokkien Mee. The Seafood Laksa featured shrimp, puffy tofu, bean sprouts and other ingredients that took him back to his birthplace. The star is the spices that went into making the broth, of course. The Hokkien Mee has a tasty gravy featuring the familiar flavors of seafood, pork, and spices that one expects from this dish - and it has three kinds of noodles and was loaded with good amount of ingredients as well. Good sized portions all around! They did not disappoint - rather, they made us smile and reminded us of home.
I visited because I was missing SG food. I had a great experience in Chinatown but a major letdown in Japantown so Im half scared it will be a disappointment. Turns out its pretty legit char kway teow. I asked for wok-hey which they delivered. Im used to the rice noodle only version but this one is half yellow noodles, which adds to the different texture, but I still prefer rice noodle more. So 5 stars for the food Less stars for service because they forgot to give me my prawns,so I spent the whole meal wondering why this dish was just noodles ( ie had no 料) As usual meal portion in US is big. I think the price of 20 bucks is fair considering its SF and not MY/SG. I miss my penang ckt, so this hits the spot for now
My partner and I have enjoyed Dabao Singapore's meal kits for the past couple of years. It is so exciting to see that they have a brick and mortar space, which makes partaking in this delicious food even easier. If you haven't already, give Dabao Singapore a try. You won't be disappointed! Kudos to the chef!
Went to Dabao recently and had a great experience. Kim was super friendly and attentive, really made the visit enjoyable. The food was also really good, flavorful, fresh, and came out quick. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!
I'm a Big fans of Laksa and I'm so surprised I found this fantastic place in San Francisco. The customer service is just brilliant, Alex is ace, very welcoming , very polite and friendly to the customer. Emily I believe you are the incharge of the shop. Your food OMG it tasted great and Authentic. Nice Boss and nice staff 👍🏻 . Love to come back again when my next visit SFO. Thank you for not just the tasty food but the fabulous service. Happy Customer from the UK, Cece x
Dabao is easily at the top of my go-to restaurant list. Every visit feels like pure comfort. I absolutely love the Nasi Lemak with fried chicken and the Seafood Laksa — I’ve ordered them countless times, and they still make me ridiculously happy. More than once, I’ve wanted to text my friends mid-meal just to tell them how amazing the food is. The fried chicken is perfection — crispy, juicy, and deeply satisfying. And the laksa broth? Rich, fragrant, and comforting with every single sip. If you see the seasonal chili crab on the menu, don’t miss it. It’s a must-try while it’s in season. Beyond the incredible food, the staff are genuinely warm and welcoming, especially Nang - always with bright smile! It makes the whole experience even better! Thank you for bringing such authentic, delicious Singaporean flavors to us. I truly hope Dabao stays around for a long, long time. I’ll definitely keep coming back.
Quick and super tasty. Great way to try food from Singapore. From the seafood soup to a vegan soup, it is fresh and flavorful. The team is super friendly and great at explaining the menu. It’s in the middle of a food court. Nice escape from the bustle outside.
Dabao Singapore is the real deal. We had a group dinner in the food court and every dish was standout. The braised beef was deeply flavorful and tender, the tofu was perfectly done, and the noodle dishes were fresh and perfectly seasoned. Every dish tasted vibrant and thoughtfully prepared. A great reminder that some of the best food in the city isn’t in high-end restaurants. Highly recommend.
As a Malaysian living in SF, Dabao Singapore is the closest I’ll get to having a taste of home. I got the seafood laksa and curry chicken and they were delicious (good spice level, decent portion, very fresh ingredients!). They occasionally have special items on their menu, and I hope to order one of them in the future! Highly recommend to any foodie.
My absolute favourite and most trusted spot for authentic Singaporean food. A few fellow Singaporean friends and I catered from Dabao for a big 30 person event and they did not disappoint! We ordered the chicken rice, laksa, beef rendang, char kway teow and satay. It was a hit among our friends who’d never tried Singaporean food before. I personally love the laksa, beef rendang and char kway teow best. Emily and her team were exceptional and even delivered to us on a Sunday despite that not usually being their working hours. We also ordered warmers for the food which kept it fresh for a few hours. I will say that we overestimated how much people could eat and ended up having leftovers. So be aware the portion sizes are quite generous!! (Which makes sense as the price is high. But it is value for money.)
Am a Singaporean, and was looking for Singapore food because I missed it. Ordered Laksa, Nasi Lemak and Tahu Goreng. They were all excellent and reminded me of home (tastes authentic!) - laksa sauce was so thick and flavorful, and Nasi Lemak chicken actually felt like an upgraded version of what we usually get in Singapore! I also love the sambal, I think it is homemade. I don't usually eat Tahu Goreng, but this was nicely fried, with a black bean sauce and shredded cucumber and nuts - would order again! Will be back to try the other dishes. Prices are actually reasonable for the area - everything else in the food court is similarly or even higher priced. Highly recommend!

Best Nasi Lemak in SF (I can say that as a Malaysian)! The sambal was out of this world. It's not the spicy kind, but the very fragrant type which I like ♥️ The server was very kind and friendly too. 10/10

Soooooooo good — rich complex flavors, perfectly cooked to order! If you like noodles get the Char Kway Teow and the Hokkien Mee which taste just like the ones in Singapore (which is not an easy feat because there are some unique ingredients that are hard to come by in the US). And the laksa and chicken rice were also excellent. The portions are generous — and pricing is very reasonable (considering I just had a chipotle burrito for $16). If you’ve never been to Singapore this is a great way to try authentic Singapore food. We went on a Saturday for lunch and there was a bit of a wait because I think the word is out about how good this spot is, but it’s well worth it!

I decided to see a movie and somehow, I got my times mixed up. I was about an hour and half early so I walked around the Metreon since I haven't been here for quite awhile. There aren't that many restaurants or kiosks as before. This was one of the few restaurants that were opened before11 AM. So I thought I would eat an early lunch. To my surprise, the food was delicious, well seasoned and presented well. The cashier/server was friendly and made sure my order was correct since I asked for no onions or parsley. However, this is the only restaurant that did not give you a same day discount for seeing a movie. Anyways, give it a try if you are in the neighborhood.
Good SG food is hard to find here, no less within the city so we were super stoked to try this! Got the steamed chicken rice, laksa and curry puff. TLDR: Portions are great, the flavour and textures match and even surpass what you can find in Singapore and you HAVE TO TRY THIS. Went during their soft opening so i can't wait till they have more exciting stuff! Don't say bojio! (Sorry my vids don't do it justice) The chicken rice came with a generous portion of succulent chicken, fragrant rice, and lots of veggies. The side of garlic/ginger paste and chilli sauce nailed it for us; mix those in with the chicken rice and you are transported back to Singapore eating your favourite chicken rice. So so good. The laksa ingredients are fresh and noodles were great; smooth yet a nice chew to it. And the broth with the chilli was so yummy! Curry puff uses puff pastry which is different from what I am used to at home but it is so flaky and goooood. And the potato filling.. WOAH. SO SO GOOD.

We ordered the catering menu for a house party last week. The ordering process is easy, the food delivery was on time, great service for helping us to set up and clear instructions for the food. We all love the Laksa Arancini ball — full of seafood in the sauce, Rojak — Singaporean fruit salad, great curry puff and Hainanese chicken rice and we all love the peanut sauce from the satay
If you see the nasi lemak on the menu, you have to get it. The chicken was marinated very well and it was so flavorful — it was outstanding! Also got their taro paste and coconut cream dessert with Ginko nuts — so simple but so well made! Really good if you like a more traditional dessert!
Dabao is DaBOMB! Went for dinner last night and every dish was better than the next. I am visiting from Vancouver and so needed to try tried all of Emily’s signature plates. Each one was better than the next. Flavorful, fresh and just absolutely delicious. And the spicy condiments were sooo good. This is not your average food court fare. Not only is this the best option at the Metreon, it’s up there with the best options in town.
When Emily is here, quality control is a lot better - closer to 4.5. When she’s not, closer to a 3 (overcooked noodle in slightly watery laksa, slightly overcooked shrimp and off tasting bean sprouts)
Update: Most recent laksa I had was great. Maybe it depends on who makes it, but this was in the evening. Broth thick, flavorful, and glistening with oil. Original: Laksa came with generous amount of rice vermicelli noodles, tofu, and fish balls. I’ve had real Laksa in Singapore. This is decent but broth is missing something in the flavor.
Didn't realize this was a new addition to the Metreon and was super excited for the Laksa. Good: - The seafood laksa was really tasty - a bit salty but great strong flavor - The food came out pretty quickly! - The price was good value and I was super full by the end - Nice staff, let me know when my able was ready Bad: - Seating area is a bit jankier - you sit in commuunial - Laksa was a bit too spicy for me too - Ambiance is casual diner Overall this was a good experience and I like it as a new option for food i =n the metreon.
doordashed from here and got the vegan laksa! overall good but def needs some salt and spice lol. lowkey unseasoned but after adding my own seasonings it was amazing! also the spring rolls are so yum

3.5 stars. I will preface this review by saying that we have eaten traditional Singaporean food in the food stalls in Singapore, so I am judging this food by much higher standards than expected. Dabao is a good stall in the mall. The guy at the service counter is super energetic and friendly. The whole place isn't much to look at, but don't let that stop you because this food is pretty good! Would it service in the food stalls in Singapore? Probably not, but if you have never had Singaporean food or if you have a craving for that food once in a while, these guys come pretty close. We ordered the chaw kway Teow and the hainanese chicken and rice. The char kway Teow was good but the noodles needed to be more fried. It wasn't spicy by itself. The sauce they provided had a slight kick, but not enough. I'm sure that most people would like the sauce, but just remember that the authentic stuff is way spicier than this was. The hainanese chicken was fine. It wasn't amazing. The sauces (the garlic one particularly) helped the rice immensely. It came with a soup which was delicious. We enjoyed it but we know it can be better. All in all, this was a good tribute to the amazing food stall scene of Singapore and I'm glad we came here. We just think a little more work is needed!

First time trying Dabao in the Metreon food court! I got both the chicken cutlet and the poached Hainanese chicken and thought they were both pretty good. The best part to me was the ginger garlic rice, it was so flavorful and moist! Both dishes could’ve used a bit more of the sauce on top, the good flavor comes from that and the rice. I’m excited to come back when they have their full menu!
Dabao Singapore is a food stand inside the Metron entertainment complex. Hawker food in the heart of SF. 4.6 stars on Yelp and situated conveniently after we saw a movie.. Order on the console and pay the person. Safety Pluses - Online menu, Delivery services available, online ordering. Food Review: Poached Hainanese Chicken Rice ($16.95) Poached lemongrass-ginger chicken, served alongside fragrant rice, cucumber, with steamed vegetables is a favorite dish. This one was better than expected. Not a much portion of chicken but it proved to be tender. Rice had some flavor but wasn't too yellow. Veggies hit the mark. 8.5/10 Tahu Goreng ($8) fried, marinated firm tofu with sweet and savory sauce with peanuts, cucumbers, and bean sprouts is perfect for vegetarians. Strong flavors from the sauce and some nice tofu. 8.5/10 Overall - Good Food - Good Decor - Good Service - Good Value - Good Would we come back - Yes

If you're after authenticity, this is not it. The laksa is muted and one dimensional in flavor, the rice noodles in it are fine, and the toppings are just OK (good egg though). Spice level is good, but no option to tune the spice level in case you were wondering. Authenticity is not the backbone of good food, but in this case it's neither authentic nor good The big item to fix is the laksa broth. I don't think it's made with seafood stock, or if it is, it's not coming through. It needs more lemongrass, more herbs, fish sauce, palm sugar, and coconut milk. The issue is, none of the layers of flavor that I'd associate with loksa seem to be there. It would benefit from lime as well. It does come with a side tin of shrimp paste, and that stuff is pretty good. Wish there were more of it
The nasi lemak was really, really bad. The rice was undercooked and had a hard centre. The sambal was barely spicy. Chicken was tender but didn’t taste seasoned. Bad sambal made everything bland. I’m not an expert on Singaporean food but have had nasi lemak in Malaysia and elsewhere that were orders of magnitude better at a fraction of the price. Do not recommend.
