Fantastic! We got a shrimp and an al pastor super burrito bowls and were blown away. Don’t let the sad chips fool you, the food is great, super tasty and the portion are huge, plus it’s multiple dollars cheaper than some other places.
Whenever I’m in San Francisco, Taqueria Cancun is my go-to spot for a perfect burrito. It’s consistently delicious, served with chips, and the staff are always warm and welcoming.
Wonderful food and generous portions The green salsa is thick and chunky👌
Solid Carne Asada Super Burrito for about $16. The salsa verde is good
Fast food, good quantity, chips included, good price and mandarin Jarrito. Lively, colorful atmosphere well into the night. Staff is warm, didn't know salsa was included (verde & mildly spicier orange) and asked for some, staff was fast. Short wait, less than 10 min.
Simple, delicious, reasonably priced taqueria in the Mission that's awesome to go to whether you are drunk or not. It's justifiably popular. Love the quesadilla here especially, but you can't go wrong with the tacos. Asada, carnitas, and chorizo are my usual picks.
Friendly staff with large portions and decent prices plus bursting with flavor! Open late with clean tables and free chips/salsa with your order. We really enjoyed the al pastor and pollo asado super tacos. The al pastor especially was juicy and full of flavor!
Came here because of Huang's World on vice. Best burritos we've ever had. Great price and taste.
This is my favorite local taqueria. They have received numerous awards and you can see why. Tacos A+ Quesadillas A+ Burritos A+ Vibes A+. You get what I mean! The flavors on the meats are par to none and set the bar for me. Pair it was a horchata or Jarito!
Good food, large portions, reasonable price. Seems popular with the locals as well.
Very good! Great sized burritos and very delicious complimentary chips and salsa. My girlfriend really liked the chicken tacos too. Definitely will come back when I’m craving good quick Mexican food in the neighborhood!
This place is a gem-- I can't stay away. The food is great, the drinks astonishingly good, the staff friendly and attentive. And they play awesome movies at the bar. Note that this is a REAL restaurant. (There are many fake ones around these days, where the decor is sterile and people act like mechanical extensions of the POS.) How special to find a place that is human and warm and alive. What a gift to the city and the neighborhood.
A low-brow classic with real Mission history Emmy’s has been a Mission favorite since the early days, opening around the same time as Mission Yoga. The noodles are big, messy, and consistently satisfying. The vibe is quirky in the best way. With the new owner comes a refined cocktail program that pairs amazingly with the classic dishes. Great for: comfort cravings, cocktails, nostalgic Mission vibes.
Our 1.5 yo toddler loved this place! She became a picky eater recently, but she went totally nuts for the lasagna, and also the spaghetti and meatballs. She was really enthusiastic! It's a great place to arrive with kids right when they open. While they make the food, you can entertain kids with pinball in the back. I used to come here in my 20s and 30s and drink 40oz beers with dinner. You can also still do that!
My teen son took me Emmy's for my bday. It was great! Food was stellar, service was super friendly and attentive, and they put a candle in my bday dessert! Highly recommend and will be back!
Our entire party of was floored by the flavorful dishes each of us ordered. Curious? I shared the lasagna and caesar salad with my girlfriend and we both agreed it was the best lasagna we had ever eaten...and we're not youngsters! It paired magically with the caesar salad. My son ordered the rigatoni and his girlfriend ordered the spaghetti. We all had sample bites of each other's plates and it was an eyebrow-raising experience. Every dish had its own distinctively delicious mojo. We also ordered their red and white organic wines which enhanced our dining experience. If you're in the Mission just go!
Came with a massive group for Portola weekend and the crew handled us flawlessly. They were so kind, attentive and just 10/10. My partner and I split a buncha stuff which was amazing. Hot wings, bomb. Wild mushroom gnocchi, bomb. Fried Eggplant cutlet with added chili oil, bomb. But the star of the show for me? That SPICY Cesar salad dude.. I couldn’t get enough like I need the recipe for that dressing asap The esthetic of the place felt like a warm hug from 90s. I would absolutely come back whenever I’m in the area. Thanks team!!
This place reminded me of Brooklyn (after living there for 6 years). The menu is so beautifully built and has an if you know, you know vibe. They have Lambrusco, unique Negronis, delicious pastas (the lasagna is INSANE) and funky shots for group dinners (like the nacho cheese pickelback). I really appreciate the detail that went into the menu and drink selection and I loved everything we had. We’re coming back often!!
New to SF and felt homesick. Decided I needed a home cooked meal. Walked into Emmy's and was greeted with a smile and great place at the bar. Surrounded by friendly, local patrons, Kat the bartender made me feel at home. Ordered house wine (x2) on happy hour and spaghetti with grandma's meatballs (enough for lunch tomorrow), $50 tab. Delicious!!! Left Emmy's with a full belly and comforted soul!
Dined here for the first time last night for my friend’s birthday dinner, and it was such a great experience! The ambiance, hospitality, and food made it well worth the visit. The Fettuccine Alfredo and Chicken Parm were my favorites — and the Spicy Caesar Salad & Garlic Bread were standouts too.
This place serves a proper serving of spaghetti and meatballs. I had to waddle my way out of the restaurant because I was so full. Order your meatballs grandma style (with pork, beef and cashews). You won’t regret it. Also, the chicken parm in spicy vodka sauce. Where have you been all my life????
This place has a certain vibe to it, its so photogenic. We went on Monday night right after an influencer had just been there so it was packed. It took us a while to get seated even with a reservation for that reason, the staff felt really bad so they gave us our appetizers and drinks for free, the staff was super sweet. I loved the ambiance and the food.
Delicious but pricy! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and drinks, but paid over $50 a head (including a drink and tip, no desserts). Service is fast and food came quick, atmosphere is great. Very nice place for a special occasion. Vegan options are delicious - Beyond meatballs that have been creatively flavored.
I ordered to go, and the service was fast. The portions were big, and our burrito and torta were nicely stuffed and flavorful. 🌯 They also added tortilla chips to my bag and they were super good.
Love there shrimp Diablo, wet burritos, good prices
Great late night food option. The super burrito was spot on and very tasty. They're open until midnight, the neighborhood can be interesting at night, burrito a bit salty and definitely on the heavier side. Still a great option!
Taqueria Cancun's super burritos are pretty good. The ordering was easy and they made my burrito fairly quickly. That first bite was delicious. I especially enjoyed the included couple cups of salsa and chips. I wish it came with more chips though. It was less than 10 chips.
My tacos were good enough I didn’t mind that they shorted me on my change. Chips are from a bag though…
The name says it all, it's a shack and there is nothing wrong with it. Just don't expect any highfalutin dinning experience but get wowed with rather healthy sized portions which don't empty your wallet, then this place will do just fine. We tried their White Bean Bruschetta which I quite like. I think the toast needed a bit longer on the grill to absorb the sauce from the toppings and prevent getting soft. The Shrimp scampi Toast was perfectly rounded by flavor, crunch and the lingering flavors. For the main we tried their Spaghetti + Meatballs. The Bolognese sauce was nice but could use a bit more flavor. The meatballs, are huge for sure and tender. i would oven bake them first and the soft broil them in the Bolognese sauce. That way they stay crunchy but pack more flavors while staying soft and moist. If you are seeking a warm spot with hearty food , this might just be the place for you.
Chicken parm and cauliflower balls are amazing. The chicken is huge. The cauliflower balls taste like a better mozarella stick and the sauces it comes with are finger licking good. All the fried food is super crunchy, perfectly seasoned. The spaghetti by itself was great. The caesar salad was under dressed. Grandma's meatball tasted odd. I don't know how to describe it. The grapefruit soda was so tasteless - like when the soda machine runs out of sprite syrup.
Salsa and guac were watery, I got the chicken super burrito and it was only ok
Guys. Calling pico de gallo "Mexican salsa" is dumb and leads to people ordering something that don't want. This is San Francisco - everyone knows what pico de gallo is, you don't need to "simplify" the terminology. While you're at it just call carnitas "Mexican pulled pork" and Al pastor "Mexican sweet pork" 🙄
9.14.25- while visiting SF my brother suggested we stop by Emmy’s. I had ordered the spaghetti & meatballs plate. The meatballs were seasoned and cooked perfectly, the sauce is your basic resturant pasta sauce. I ordered a small order of garlic bread. The bread is sliced thinly from a loaf of sourdough and had garlic butter and some parsley. Basically sliced bread that was toasted in a toaster and then topped w/ garlic butter.. I wasn’t thrilled with the atmosphere, children running around screaming and crying. The lights were very dim. I had to use my phone light to read the menu. The server we had did a pretty good job serving.
The food has gone way down hill since Emmy sold her restaurant. My friends and I got our usuals Really disappointing. The service was fine but the staff was spread way too thin and everything took way too long because of it. Don't order any wine, it is rubbish. BYOB and pay the corkage fee. Trust me.
I have NO idea how this place is still in business… food is straight terrible… it’s a block from my house and i never… who are you people giving this any more than 2 stars??? wild…
Confirmed no beans, foil said no beans, burrito had no rice and double beans. Very funny, way to lose some regulars.
