Been meaning to try this restaurant for a while because of their unique menu. They have a little bit of everything from different Latin American cuisine. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria, plantain chips, yuca fries, popusa, paella, pescado machado, adobo and steak.we shared everything. Everything was delicious. The adobo got mom’s thumbs up for being very tender. The paella was a bit spicy for me. There was live music which added to a very good environment. Good food and good music. What a great combo.
I can’t say enough about how good Peruvian food is. The Saltado Vegetales is a gastronomical experience if you ask me. Mixto is brilliant. I came here with my family after a long day of park hopping with our toddler and our waitress was brilliant. She was patient and helped my wife pick something she’d love on the menu. I highly recommend coming here when you get a chance as the beach is a stones throw away so you can enjoy a nice walk after your lunch or dinner.
Cute joint with good food! Friendly staff and clean bright environment. The food was all really solid, we had no complaints. Nothing was out of this world amazing but absolutely good solid food. I got the chilaquiles with pulled pork. Yummy yummy flavor though the pork was just a tad fatty for me. I had some pure fat bites, might have gotten unlucky. My husband got the seafood omelette and again, no complaints! The appetizers we got vegetable empanada and fried plantains. The empanada were really yummy. Slightly spicy, nice and crisp, very flavorful! The plain rain was good, but less memorable.
Overall 4.5: Food 4.5; Dishes were tasty. Suggest having kids order from the main menu. Our go-to staple dishes, Mixto added their own unique spin to it. Service 5; Server was very personable and attentive. Atmosphere 4; Liked new decor. Suggest changing how the bathroom door closes or add a partition. Also was shocked to see automatic gratuity added for parties of 6 or more but pleased that it was less than what we'd normally tip. We'll be back for the crispy calamari and to try the ceviches.
Amazing food. Incredible service great music. The papusas are the best I’ve ever had. It was simply incredible. The food was also out very quickly. Surprisingly low wait for the quality of the food. In town on vacation and stopped here. Highlight of the vacation.
Wonderful weekday brunch without the weekend crowds. Enjoyed the freshness of the huevos rancheros & my brother loved the vegetable omelette revuletos. Emmanuel, who was serving and managing the front, played some nice Latin beats & mentioned the live Salsa performance on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays. Mixto is such an excellent addition to the neighborhood.
Great food and service! The yuca fries, chips, and pan con lomito were awesome. The standout for me was an amazing and unique (yet slightly expensive) chicken empanada.
TLDR: same owner as Franco’s Latin Table in West Portal, delicious food! The dishes we got were awesome! The mariscada (seafood stew) was creamy with coconut milk like a curry, and had plenty of seafood. The pork is super tender and the steak was delicious and well cooked as well! A lot of the items could be made gluten free as well!
Absolutely Delicious. What a gem of a place to have in the Outer Sunset. We came for lunch on a sunny Sunday. Of course I got the Lomo Saltado!!! Ingredients were fresh and the steak was so tender. There is even a kids menu for those of you all with little ones! Can’t wait to come back :D
Great service, friendly staff, DELICIOUS food! First time at Mixto and it did not disappoint. We went there for dinner and ordered ceviche mixto, birria taco’s and arroz con mariscos. The portions are very generous (two people couldn’t finish a starter, ceviche and a main, took some of it home) and everything is freshly made which makes them very flexible when it comes to food restrictions. I like the dim lighting because it made the dinner feel like date night on a Wednesday. Also, it is located in a quiet neighborhood which gives so much privacy and the time to properly enjoy your food without rushing to empty the table. Will visit them for brunch next time👌🏻
So happy to have tried this place. The food is "da bomb". The flavors are all there and the restaurant is new, clean and simple. The plates are very charming, and there is so much food to try. What we got was Birria Tacos and Mariscada with some not too sweet sangria. Franco's Latin Table, you got some serious competition!

Cozy neighborhood spot that recently opened. They have another location on West Portal as well. We were given chips and salsa upon sitting. Both were tasty and the chips were nicely crunchy. Some dishes I would recommend: • Ceviche Mixto - great mix of fresh seafood with a nice lime flavor • Birria Tacos - tender meat with tons of flavor inside a consomme drenched shell • Chicharon de Pollo - flavorful chicken with a delicious dipping sauce • Platano Frito - sweet and delicious, perfectly cooked plantains Service is great and staff is friendly! A great addition to the area. Would also recommend the sangria, or if you're not into alcohol, the chica morada (corn cider) is really delicious!

Great food and great vibes, often live music, delicious eclectic menu, pupusas to die for and I also love the birria tacos and ceviches. There’s nothing else like it in the sunset. Super hospitable staff, 10/10

Hidden gem for amazing food. Cuisine is primarily Peruvian but also has dishes from other South American countries. Prices are slightly higher but portion sizes are actually big so it evens out. Highly recommend the Mariscada and the Baja fish tacos. If you haven’t tried Chicmorada, great place to try it as well. Very close to the original we had in Peru
Peruvian with a mix of other Latin food. We had the Quesabirrias and the pork was tasty and tender, it was really good. Then we had the flourless chocolate cake that tasted really good, it was like a big truffle! Servers were really nice and kind. I think it’s a great place for a date, and also to go with the whole family. (My daughter [10yo] said it was 10/10)
We made reservations for a party of seven and when we arrived we were immediately taken to our table. Our party consisted of five adults and two children, ages 10 & 8. For starters we ordered Mejillones, Ceviche Chino & Ceviche Mixto. Everyone (including the kids) enjoyed the excellent starters. The kids ordered Adobo Sliders, Papa Fritas & Tallarines Al Pisco. They enjoyed their meals and gave their dinners 👍. The adults ordered : Mariscada Seafood Stew : Excellent & Delicious 👍 Arroz Con Mariscos : Excelente y Delicioso 👍 Adobo de Chancho : Bueno 🥲👌 Fish Tacos : Excelente y Delicioso👍 Pescado & Papas : Demasiado empanizado en el pescado. Las papas fritas estaban deliciosas.👌 The service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. 🤩 The serving sizes were generous. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the kids were very happy with their meal.
The vegetable salteado had a very salty sauce which took away some flavor from the well tossed vegetables. The fish and chips were surprisingly light and fresh with an excellent crust and very moist tender fish inside. Very good! The sangria was great - light and flavorful. Overall, a very good place.
New Peruvian Latin restaurant in the Sunset. We tired the ceviche chino which was quite good. We also had the steak salad and fish tacos which was okay. Service was nice and would come back again. Pro tip: they have a kids menu.

Not cheap. Overall a good experience and I'd come back. The ceviche was a 10, very authentic Peruvian. The fish tacos were very abundant and fish was very fresh and perfectly cooked, they could have used a little heat in my opinion though. The kids' hot dog was a little too smokey, I liked them but my kid didn't. The service was slow and sloppy, maybe they were understaffed being a holiday.

I came here for a late meal, and ordered branzino with seafood stew. The fish was quite a bit smaller than what I was expecting for $36, and the bowl of seafood stew I was told would come with the meal was actually just that small circle of shellfish enclosed by the branzino. With that said, the seafood stew was pretty good. The main dish, branzino, however, was undercooked, which is why there were two different photos of the same dish. Service was good from one server, but not much from the other. The waiter asked if I needed some chips, while the waitress simply brought them and told me that the sauce was a bit spicy. Little difference I know, but I felt more welcome by the waitress. And also, although the waiter was the one who took my order and served the undercooked fish, the waitress was the one hwo kept apologizing: I said it was no big deal, because neither the waiter nor the waitress prepared the meal, obviously. Overall, I think if food quality can improve, I would definitely recommend this place, since the view can be pretty good in the day.

During my recent visit to San Francisco, we order food from this restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was a bit disappointing. I ordered the ceviche mixto, which was very spicy (using maybe habanero, and other hot pepper), and the fish need more time in lime to denaturing. Also, it was a smaller portions than I anticipated. Additionally, we also order sliders, but the bun was burned. On a positive note, I would recommend trying one of their beers, as that was enjoyable. The atmosphere of the place was decent as well.
