Despite the bad ratings, I decided to give this place a try—and I was really surprised. It’s a hidden gem. I think many of the negative reviews may be about cleanliness. True, it’s not the cleanest spot, but this is more of a casual eatery than a full restaurant. And considering the prices—almost like McDonald’s—it’s hard to complain. I visited twice and both times ordered the meal of the day. Each time it was very good, with a proper amount of meat, rice, plus complimentary soup and tea. It was filling, tasty, and very affordable. It also felt very authentic—almost all the other customers were Chinese, which says a lot about the quality. Overall, I can definitely recommend it.
Here’s my favorite breakfast spot. They have a variety of Hong Kong style breakfast options and are most affordable price. A steak & double eggs & toast only $7.50, yummy!!! Waitresses are nice and quick. I also like the vibe which is bright and spacious. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to start a wonderful day with a wonderful breakfast. Love it!!!!
Fast service! Delicious foods! Great value with inexpensive price! It would be great if they can take credit cards.
Been coming here with my grandma for many many years. We use to stop by in the morning for their breakfast because it was good. And sometimes we would come for their lunch too. Always satisfied with their delicious options.

Perfect place for a quick and budget friendly meal. Got the daily meal - chicken w/ gravy, a choice of spaghetti noodle or rice, a cup of daily soup and a cup of coffee for $9.50 (that plate feed me and my kid). Didn't get a chance to take a picture as it was good and it was gone very very soon
Great Prices and the Steak was so flavorful. A good breakfast before touring around the city.

I started coming here in the late 80s when breakfast with milk tea or coffee was $2.99! Well, it’s $7.95 now! It used to to be owned & run by two sister and their family and then sold it to current owners! Still same dirty nasty chairs & table but food is still consistently decent! Milk tea is good, broth on the instant noodles are just as good as before! You just have to get over the chairs and aesthetics of the place! Service was fast and very friendly!
We got black pepper steak with noodles and salt and pepper pork chop. They're not super fancy but definitely delicious. The prices were reasonable. It's a place to stop by if you're craving some authentic yet simple Cantonese dishes!
Classic Chinatown Hong Kong Cafe. Expect great value lunch specials (roasted chicken leg and thigh, fried rice, soup, hot drink, and garlic bread for around $7), but also the associated atmosphere and service. Loud patrons, brusque service, and crowded lunchtime tables is the quintessential experience. Their breakfast options are also super reasonably priced, with options like macaroni or vermicelli soups.
There are three main special lunch,ABC on the front door and on the wall. The price was reasonable and cheaper, taste was good,,cash only.
Busy cafe, fresh food to order, fast service, friendly staff. Atmosphere: restaurant is very clean and guests are lively.

No atmosphere or frills restaurant but always busy and attracts the locals. There is a big following and its reputation is based on "word of mouth." Have not been back since the 90's. May have changed several hands and the food is decent. Their breakfast entrées are cheap and tasty. Will definitely return to try their lunches. Braised beef tongue in tomato 🍅 sauce, baked rock cod with spaghetti and pig stomach soup noodles to name a few. Reminds me of homestyle cooked comfort food that's truly missed since childhood. The wait staff are friendly and efficient. Sincerely recommending you give it a try.

Old-School Hong Kong Café in the Heart of Chinatown SF 📍 Location: Located on the slope of Pacific Ave, between Grant Ave and Kenny St in San Francisco’s Chinatown. 🍽️ Atmosphere: This is one of those classic old Chinese / Hong Kong–style cafés that’s been around for decades. From the exterior signage, the worn-in interior, and the crowd of loyal older regulars, you can immediately feel the nostalgic vibe. 🥢 Food: The menu offers all the classic HK café staples — nothing too fancy or modern, just the usual comfort dishes. • My friend ordered the beef stew noodle soup • I went with the ham and egg macaroni in soup and curry fish balls Both dishes were pretty standard — not particularly good or bad, but simple and satisfying enough if you’re craving something familiar. 😊 Service: The staff were friendly and welcoming. The place was quite busy during our visit, and we did wait a little longer than expected for what should’ve been easy-to-cook dishes. 💭 Overall: A nostalgic stop in Chinatown for anyone who enjoys old-school HK café vibes. Come for the atmosphere and tradition, not for anything fancy or elevated.
Came here for breakfast for a several times. The service was inconsistent. Sometimes they were slow, waited for 15 mins after you ordered the breakfast. If you’re hurry to work or doing something, not recommended to come here. Breakfast was good but really waiting too long for such simple breakfast. Service was average. Cash only, very inconvenient. Parking is very tough. Don’t come if you are expected parking on the street.
Been eating a lot of Chinese food lately! Maybe because of all the Chinese New Year meals and celebrations. Sometimes I just want a simple breakfast. Plain toast, some eggs, and a pork chop. Not too many places in SF anymore where you can get a simple breakfast for 5 dollars and even includes coffee! I like to order ham and macaroni on the side. Warms up my tummy. Hard to find parking. Fast and quick service. Cash only.

On a busy day it doesn’t matter if you got in line first people don’t care and the staff don’t either, you can potentially sit with another table if they don’t mind (the food is pretty good)

My children went to this restaurant in Chinatown on a school trip. The waiters in this restaurant had a very unfriendly attitude. When my children finished eating and paid, the waiters yelled that they didn’t give enough tips. Oh my god, why were they yelling at children like that? The children felt very unhappy and thought they had done something wrong because they didn’t give enough tips. They would never go into this restaurant again. The children said that the dining environment inside was also very bad and the food was not delicious. If you want to quarrel with someone, come to this restaurant!
Terrible food! And is super dirty. There is a dead bug inside the jar of honey for the toast. Avoid! The attitude is super rude too!
Asked for 18% tips for a party of Two. Really dirty restaurant, the table and seats are super out dated. Food is blend as well…. Does not recommend Staff are super rude Especially the lady who tie up her hair. She keep talking about the customer who dine there
They didn't provide the whole set lunch, missing drink, and when I order drink, they didn't tell me there is drink included, i had to order drink separately and pay for it. They didn't apologize when I confronted them after I paid the bill. Bad service and cheated customers. This was the first time and last time I would be there. I didn't even want to give any star, since this was the lowest level. 👎👎👎👎👎. I even gave them over 15% tips. Over stars, not worth it. DON'T VISIT.😡😡😡😡😡
