Palmer’s old school elegance is back after a two year repair remodel retrofit. Classic long bar, booth seating with overstuffed red upholstery, and outdoor tables. They even have usb charger sockets each seat. Big menu, from snacks to full course meals. Wine and champagne by the glass for $13. Full bottles too. Drafts for $8. Good for game day, a date, business, or a fancy night out.
Palmer’s is back!! Enjoy an elegant cocktail and an incredible meal in a gorgeously decorated space. While I wish the large flatscreen TVs were omitted, Palmer’s is always solid, and I’m so glad it’s back open.
Update: June 19, 2023. Still as vibrant and delicious as ever. Monday from 4-6pm is "Happy Hour" and a good amount of people inside the restaurant and outside on the street. Great date place. Monday nights SF good. Food very good to excellent. The kale salad is absolutely perfect. Real kale and not too much dressing, as my girlfriend agrees. The drinks are great and the post Covid (3/12/22) atmosphere is excellent.
We were very lucky to get seated on a Saturday night since we were the last ones to get a table. The outdoor dining section was packed, but understandingly so! The drinks, food, and service were all top notch. Their menu was rather limited, but everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The standout factor had to be their signature cocktails though, they were delicious and decently priced!
Fabulous atmosphere, great happy hour specials, tasty food, friendly service. They not only have boulevardiers, they’re on the happy hour menu! I had the meatballs over gruyere mashed potatoes. Delicious. They open at 4pm weekdays with daily happy hour from 4-6, and open Saturday-Sunday for brunch starting at noon. Comfy booths, wood paneling, gorgeous old school bar with backlit extensive whisky selection, beautiful lighting, and taxidermy on the walls. Heated outdoor seating as well.
Happy Hour. Arrived at 4:00 PM. Sat outside. Great server. Enjoyed two sliders, spicy meatballs and two half wedges of iceberg lettuce with the most amazing dressing.
The atmosphere was pleasant, and it was a nice day so we sat outside. I tried the spicy meatballs from the brunch menu and was a little nervous about eggs on my meatballs. They were truly delicious. I should have asked for another piece of crostini for dipping as it came with only 3 pieces, but it was delicious anyway. My friend had the BLTA and it looked and smelled great too! A lovely experience.

Much better food than we expected from a bar! The sliders, lamb, and tuna were all delicious! Great cocktails as well!
Great HH solid burger service amazing. The decor and warmth of the place is old school cool
We love Palmer's - our local neighborhood spot that we've been coming to for years. Great atmosphere, kid-friendly, excellent service, and terrific cocktails!

Palmers is back! This is a perfect sunny, late afternoon weekend spot for locals and visitors alike — great sidewalk tables for dogs and strollers, good drink specials and decent food. The tables against the building have heat lamps. Definitely recommend a reservation. Good happy hour deals from 4-6pm including weekends. I believe they changed the chef post-renovation because the fried chicken sandwich and salmon dishes were both totally different and not nearly as good as we remembered. In terms of service, the hostess was wonderful and went out of her way to accommodate our stroller and large dog. Server was a bit cold and unfriendly. Go for the happy hour specials and the vibe — we’ll be back!
Ridiccio salad is fresh and tasty. Bacon wrapped prawns will melt in your mouth. Baked chicken and mashed potatoes are packed with flavor! Everything on the menu will make your mouth water. They have a nice wine and cocktail selection too. A glass of wine and salad will set you back ~$40

Very pleasant surprise! We had low expectations given the fact that the menu was limited and it had a bar feel. The wine was excellent. We had the mac and cheese appetizer and it was excellent. The burger was perfectly cooked and prepared, one of the better I have had recently. The salmon was also excellent. Dessert was the only let down. The chocolate cake was just ok. But overall, we would certainly come back and eat here again.
Would be five stars if their Guinness came out in a proper 16 oz pint. Can’t pull a fast one on that G
This is a very cute neighborhood spot with good red wine! My only complaint is that tonight I told my waiter my aperol spirtz was flat and asked for another with non flat prosecco and he came back with a completely flat aperol spritz. It seems like this bar is trying to cut corners by serving old flat prosecco! It’s not worth ordering a spritz here. Also, generally, there are pretty good waiters here but I was disappointed that when our waiter dropped off new aperol spritzes, he never asked us how they were or if we were happy with our new drinks. And I think making sure customers are happy with corrected food or drinks is a must for a decent waiter!

The food was okay.... just okay. Everything was nicely prepared, but nothing stood out as something I'd recommend, except perhaps the side of Brussels Sprouts. For the price, I'd have expected more enjoyable flavors.

Let’s start with the bad: the food just isn’t very good, especially for the price point. It’s maybe a slight step above Harry’s bar food (iykyk). Try a meal here and then look at the bill—you’ll probably be able to think of 10 places within a mile where you’d rather spend that same money. Now the good: the atmosphere is great, and the bar is where this place really shines. They just completed a remodel, which makes it even more confusing that they didn’t make the bar bigger. It’s easily their strongest asset and probably their highest-margin offering. Most people coming here want to grab a drink, not sit down for a full meal, yet a lot of people end up getting turned away because so much of the space is dedicated to tables. Hot take: after summer 2026, this place might start to feel the effects of that decision. There’s simply too much space devoted to dining tables, and if the food doesn’t improve, that reputation will eventually catch up with them.
They were closed for two years for a rennovation that looks....exactly the same? lol okay. The food here is quite alright, nothing I would write home about -- i do love the onion dip with the fresh made chips. however i came here last night with friends and they completely spilled a bunch of water on us without even saying sorry? the staff's training is the aspect at this establishment that needs renovating to be quite honest.
Apparently they don't apply their Happy hour until next year, even though its advertised online. Aside from that, it took servers awhile to get to us after forgetting said drinks

I returned tonight on 5/2/22 after several months of staying away. I have always had very pleasant experiences at this upscale establishment. However, tonight was an exception. Not only was the bar tender seemingly unable make a decent cocktail, he also lacked basic hygiene and looked deshelved with his sleeves roll up and talking with food in his mouth. The bartender was eating in between making drinks, and wiping his mouth with his bare hands and then handling ice cubes with his fingers without washing his hands. Not only is this unprofessional and unsavory, it is potentially unhealthy for the patrons. Better training is needed. You should be able to enjoy a fifteen dollar cocktail without weighing the risks if it is going to make you sick or not. I was rather disappointed as this was one of my favorite places in SF to enjoy a relaxing drink amongst other polite patrons.

Popular spot, reservations made, hostess pleasantly seated us on a busy Friday night. Service afterwards seemed rushed, overall underwhelming kitchen, food, and inconsistent drinks from the bar (same cocktail tasted different) for the price. Loud acoustics made it difficult to have a conversation. But, a lot of people seemed like they were having a good time! Was much better before they closed for a long renovation.
Really disappointed at the dinner I had here - the service was inadequate and they gave us the wrong check and will not respond to my email asking for help with that (they overcharged us by a lot) but the food is yummy and the drinks are good and the other customers are always so vibrant

This place has a great neighborhood atmosphere and we were excited to try it since they reopened, but the experience fell short. We arrived on time for our reservation during a busy evening, which we expected, but the hostess walked past us multiple times without acknowledging us. She was friendly when she finally seated us, but the start felt weird. Our server Eric was polite at first, but once we skipped drinks and appetizers the vibe shifted and felt a bit judgmental. The service also felt extremely rushed from the start. We ordered the Palmers Burger and Mushroom Rigatoni — both were fine, just nothing memorable. The biggest issue for us was the lack of attentiveness. We weren’t checked on once, our water was never refilled, and after paying the bill there wasn’t even a thank-you. Overall, disappointing experience.
we went on a Saturday at like 4:00. Our brunette server was 100% high and incredibly rude. I asked where the bathroom was and she looked at me like I had four heads and just pointed to the back of the restaurant. The meatballs have no seasoning baked in.. they just taste like beef. I tried to wave over one of the servers so we could get our check and one of them saw my hand and literally turned away from me. Then, I asked for a printed receipt and it took literally ten minutes for us to get one. Food was terrible, service was terrible, and I will not be going back. Was excited when Palmers reopened because I never got to try it, but now I’m just disappointed.
