Delicious; fresh ingredients and not greasy! We had the combination wonton soup, which was delicious, if you want to make it spicy you can use their chilli oil on the table. I wish it were hotter in temperature since I like the burn haha. The Szechuan Pork dish was perfect. Not greasy like other restaurants make it. The broccoli was fresh and crunchy. The sauce with the garlic, onion, and was that ginger I picked up was so savoury. I expected it to be spicy and it wasn’t, so I guess next time we will ask them to add the spice. Pleasantly surprised with this little gem. I will return to try other dishes! I thought the ingredients were all fresh and tasty.
With the new management, the food has gotten better. My husband and I have been eating here for many years and always liked the food. Now, we love the food. The hot and sour soup is fantastic, the egg rolls are crispy on the outside and yummy on the inside. The General Tso chicken is even better than before. And the portions are generous. Highly recommended.
Great quality Chinese food for take out or dine in. Don't order through delivery apps! A 31 dollar order ends up costing 45 dollars and you support a parasitic system that undermines the restaurant industry as a whole and puts money in the pockets of billionaires.
Excellent on all aspects, in at 9 pm on a Friday. It was a birthday dinner for a friend, impromptu as it was, we, the trio were seated, immediately, ordered within 3 minutes of being seated. One short story about birthdays gone buy and whala; Orange crunchy Chicken, Chow Mein Chicken, still steaming as it was served, Golden Brown Pot Stickers, and Fried Rice were placed for consumption. Obviously we were the last party to be served and the staff cordially accommodated our last minute arrival. I think the bill was somewhere around 130, I tipped 35 bringing it to 160 something. All in all I could have tipped more, thought it was fair. Oh, the vegetables were EXCELLENT. ScottD.
Best Chinese food in San francisco. Very friendly service.
Stopped by today about 2pm. The place was very quiet and clean. The service was excellent. I had the Sweet & Sour Pork and it was VERY good. Crispy and delicious. I was very impressed and will be going back.
This place is the best - quick service, extremely reasonable prices, easy to get a table even with a large group. The lunch specials are amazing, especially on days when they serve the egg drop soup! Our favorites are the salty spicy pork - so crispy, so flavorful. And the sesame chicken - again, so crispy! And a huge serving.
The best Chinese food in the city, the only place I’ll eat from. They’re all nice and sweet, clean place, good amount of food portion. Rachel is the sweetest.
love this place! amazing lunch special and generally good prices otherwise. great for pickup or dining in. wish i lived closer !
Place is really good . Service was warm and friendly give you a lot of food and has great prices. Cheaper than McDonalds and better.
I have been to this restaurant for many years . Price is low and we love their fried rice .
My favorite SF Chinese restaurant. Great Chow Mein, excellent sesame chicken and wonderful service. Don’t order off Door Dash if you’re within the delivery radius! They have their own delivery service, it keeps costs down and they sometimes (sometimes!) may surprise you with a bonus item if you place a large enough order.
Excellent service very friendly and accommodating to adjusting my order. I love coming to this Restaurant
It’s a must stop specially with Potent dispensary across from the place I got me my wellness kit and food all on the same block.
My #1 in San Francisco since 2009. My favorite is the General Tso Chicken over white rice.
I’m a regular at the Red Jade, as I work nearby. Every dish I’ve tried has been fresh and lovely. The workers remember my face and occasionally give me a complimentary treat. This place is a respite for me from fast paced work. The atmosphere is relaxing, and I feel welcomed. What I can’t eat on lunch break, I take home. My kids are always sure to finish it!
I’ve been to red jade a few times before for takeout and we came in after work last night. we ordered a bunch of different plates to share but my favorite was the wings! the sauce was sweet/flavorful and the wings themselves were so tasty! Now I know this is a good spot to get some wings when I’m in the mood!
I had one of the lunch specials, a cumin lamb stir fry. The meat was tender, with some vegetables (onions, bell peppers, broccoli) to complement it. The food came out of the kitchen quickly and it was delicious.
We have been to this restaurant for a few times. And the food is good and tasty, esp fried prawn and honey walnut prawn, our kids love them so much.
These fried chicken wings were crispy, hot, and super juicy inside — exactly what you want. Not greasy at all, just perfectly fried with great flavor. Portions were solid too. Honestly, this is the kind of comfort food that keeps you coming back. If you’re in SF and craving something satisfying, Red Jade is definitely worth it. Would 100% order again.
We grew up with a lot of chinese cuisines in southeast asia- teochew, hakka, hainam, foochow, hokkien, cantonese. And while vacationing in San Francisco, after sunday mass at the Mission Basilica, we stumbled upon the New Red Jade and decided to have some chinese for sunday lunch. Very nice boss and family. Very welcoming. Restaurant is clean. We ordered the Lemon Chicken and String Beans, white rice for 2. Generous portions!!! Delicious, delicious, delicious. Tastes wholesome, like home 😍 lemon chicken is a dish we have back home, but back home it is cooked with various chicken parts like thighs etc, and we even have orange chicken versions.. BUT nevertheless the lemon chicken here is prepared with breast meat, and is crunchy and not dried out... which makes is very yummy. We saw many families and friends dining there, and we hope many more people will go to the New Red Jade and give them a try. If you dont know what to order, try what we've ordered.. ☺️ Will definitely come back when we visit SF again! Thank you laupan (boss) and family and team for preparing these dishes and for feeding us these delicious food. Keep it up! Jia yu! 🫶
Classic Chinese American fare. This place’s lunch specials are a really good deal, and they don’t do any weird surcharges so the bill honestly was shocking…ly small. Portions are huge. Pretty empty at noon on a Sunday, seems like a lot of people order takeout from here. Sesame ball dessert that came with the special was super tasty too. * Asparagus and black bean salmon (the salmon is thin crispy slices, not like a western style filet) * chow mein * green beans with pork
Recommended chiness foods here. Foods yummy and service ok free water, tea ,soup Restroom clean. Overall great chiness resturant.

Delicious food, speedy service, and big portions. I recommend this location for anyone looking for a quick or even a long meal with a friend or family. The waiter was quick, always checking up on us to make sure we were enjoying our experience.
Red Jade is a comforting, casual, easy place to grab a meal in an otherwise generally overpriced neighborhood. Solo diners can feel especially welcome. The best thing that's happened to the New Red Jade in a long time is a young female server, who seems very dedicated to making actual connections with the customers! They have also recently revamped their menu, which has many more exciting options than before.
I love this place!! The service was super quick and friendly, the Singapore noodle and sweet and sour chicken were so so tasty!! No leftovers to bring home😂 will definitely be back!!
If you want just good Chinese food for the best value this is the place! My wife and I have been coming here for awhile and regardless of we dine in or take to go, the food is always yummy with generous portions! Love Red Jade!
So good 🤤🤤 loved everything I had. Would definitely come back. Only issuei had was the waiter borderline demanded a tip and was rushing us when there was barely anyone in there. Mostly rating 5* for the food and how quickly we got it.
If you are looking for incredible Chinese food in San Francisco without the "big city" price tag, you have to check out The New Red Jade. It’s conveniently located right by the Safeway on Market and Church, and it is easily one of the best deals in the city. I eat at a lot of Chinese restaurants, and I can honestly say their prices are some of the best I’ve seen anywhere in SF. But the value isn't just in the cost it’s in the quality and the atmosphere. The restaurant itself is very nice, but the service is what truly made my evening. My server was absolutely wonderful; she was so helpful and had a great sense of humor. I really needed a reason to smile tonight, and she made that happen. As for the food delicious! I had the House Fried Rice, and it was perfect. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. Bottom line: If you’re in the neighborhood, do yourself a favor and stop by. Great food, amazing staff, and prices that can't be beat!
One of my favorite spots in San Francisco. Food is consistently excellent. Service is quick and no fuss. Came in for a birthday dinner last minute with a group, and the staff here were just really wonderful and the food tasted so good. Highly recommend for your go to joint on a casual day, or even when you want to make a special day feel more meaningful. Red Jade 10/10

I ordered delivery and expected to get steamed rice with my delivery. However, I only got dumplings, which I don't care for. I would rather have had a choice of either but at least would have rather had rice instead of dumplings.
Probably will be one of my go-to Chinese delivery places now. Every dish was solid. General Tao’s chicken was specifically tasty. Have not had egg foo young in little deep fried patties before so that was a bit odd, but it was still yum. Seafood was generous in the Cantonese chow mein. Thanks for the free sesame balls that was a nice and fun surprise! Will be back!
First time ordering delivery from this restaurant and had a pretty good experience so decided to review already. Partly inspired by the little ‘bribes’ the restaurant included for free in our order, 2 little bbq pork buns and 3 little sesame balls. First, the food was generally tasty and had authentic flavors (though on heavier side, so works for us since we like heavier seasoning). Generally more greasy than we prefer but that tends to be the same at most Chinese restaurants so not outlier. We got the cumin lamb which had succulent pieces though not very lamb-forward and could have more cumin seasoning, but was tasty. Also got water chestnut snow peas (solid), broccoli and beef (solid), a fish dish which I can’t remember name of (prefer if it weren’t fried but was tasty), pork and string beans (ok, not the most flavorful so probably skip next time), and sweet and sour soup (solid). Total was about $100 for 6 dishes. I can’t comment on the atmosphere as we got delivery. Ordered through the restaurant’s website directly for free delivery which was fast and smooth. Overall would definitely order again and save on list of go-to Chinese food. Photo of complimentary bbq bun and sesame ball only because we already devoured the rest of the food before I had a chance to take pictures.

Had a soup last night and the broth was really good and they let me do substitutions! Last time I had the broth I doing it too salty and maybe fatty, so definitely some improvement! The man on the phone was nice and accommodating and the delivery driver was nice too. Thank you Red Jade.

12/21/2022 Haven't been here in a while, so this time we ordered for delivery. Sadly they use or have to use "Door Dash", which is a total rip off to the business and the consumer. We ordered the Yang Chow Fried Rice - $11.50. It was really yummy, quite full of meat and veggies and not greasy. General Tao's Spicy Boneless Chicken - $13.50, very good and not too spicy, actually it wasn't spicy at all and quite plentiful. Least favorite was the Asparagus Prawn & Scallop in a BB Sauce - $19.95 (don't bother) So few prawns and scallops swimming in BB sauce. The worst was the asparagus which was all the woody stock, not a single asparagus top in the bunch. What was in the dish was inedible, Also way over priced. Total order was $44 + tax, tip, etc. etc., the order came to $60 One I will not support a business that has to use DD. Two I will never order delivery or take out from this restaurant again, as I have no way to comment on the quality of the food. As I would have returned the Asparagus dish.
My recent experience was a bit underwhelming. I just got off a flight and was very hungry. The sesame chicken lacked sauce, leaving it dry and plain. The brown rice was bland and lacked flavor. Additionally, there was an error in my order, resulting in extra food that I did not request. While the service was prompt and the staff friendly, the overall dining experience fell short of my expectations. Improvement in the flavor and consistency of the dishes would greatly enhance the dining experience. I'm not from the area, so maybe they do thing differently then from what I am use too.
I have been coming to this restaurant with my family for 14 years but unfortunately will no longer return. The quality has changed a lot. The last time I bought food was through a delivery app which I have done many times before. I ordered the exact same thing as always except this time when I ordered meat they all came in a container were more than half of the container was just rice and barely any meat but they still charged me as if it was an entire container of meat. It would have been fine if I wanted this but I ordered just meat, and on top of this they did not mention these changes in the menu they just kind of forced it on you once you already paid. On top of this the green onion pancakes we always get were burnt and the meat was not as good as it was in the past. When I complained to the app they just said sorry here is $20 even though the order was more than that. I would not have cared about the slightly burnt pancakes I could have dealt with that but what bothered my family was the fact that we feel like we got played and they just took our money and gave us rice. It might still be good in the restaurant because they cant get away with it that easily but haven't tried that way. This is an update on the review. My family wanted food from their recently so we gave it another shot and I did see a significant improvement in the food quality and they actually delivered what I paid for and did not add a bunch of rice and replace the meat I paid for. Glad my family decided to give them another chance it seems they are back to their previous quality.
Food was okay. One dish, Hong Kong noodles with seafood, had squid that smelled and tasted a bit old. We picked it out and didn’t eat it.

Time to finally let go of this place. Crab rangoon kept me coming back, but truth is everything else is underwhelming. The chicken, whether General Tso's or orange, is consistently rubbery. Chow mein is flavorless and limp, just a plate of oily noodles. Fried rice lacks any real taste. Nothing about it is fresh. Lesson repeatedly learned.
Highly disappointed with my selections. The orange chicken I would think twice about feeding my dog (see photo) and had zero orange flavor. And the green onion (scallion) pancakes were about twice as thick as I'm accustomed to, and it was undercooked except at the edges. When I commented to the server about my dissatisfaction (he seemed surprised I didn't want to take away so many leftovers), no accommodation was made to compensate or acknowledge my feedback. And to top it all off, the fortune cookie was stale. Luckily, a friend recommended another nearby Chinese place the following night that I thoroughly enjoyed, allowing me to expunge the taste and experience of New Red Jade.

Decent food except the potstickers, but a bad attitude toward the customer unsatisfied with 1 food item, earns them only 1 star from me. On 3/11/23 they delivered 1 order of potstickers (6 pieces) with a few other good items. Immediately I noticed hard gristle or bone and or hard fat in 2 of the 6 potstickers I attempted to eat. Although turned off from eating more, I gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt by not complaining that day, chalking it up to just 2 bad apples out of 6. On Monday 3/13, just two days later I tried the remaining 4 and got the same displeasing gristle/bone/fat so I called, then texted the restaurant my complaint along with a picture of the gristle substance. No response. Then today Tuesday I called to complain and the first thing out of the mouth of the woman I spoke to was that everyone orders and loves their potstickers. I told her I can only speak from my experience and they were filled with bone, fat, or gristle. She then blamed me for not complaining sooner and because of my complaint now 3 days later, she could not refund or replace or do anything for me. I explained my benefit of the doubt on Saturday and then having the right to try eating the rest of them 2 days later on Monday. That was not good enough for her and she hung up on me. Called back 2 more times and got the same, "click." Please learn to treat customers with the same respect you expect from your customers. My request for a refund is not about the money, but the principle the restaurant found best not to acknowledge.
This place gave me food poisoning. So thanks for that. I had the Singapore noodles with chicken and I bet it was the chicken.
Red Jade, what happened? This place used to be amazing, and now it’s a complete disaster. I ordered my usual dishes from the 2009–2021 era, trying to relive the old days. Instead, I got the driest Chinese food I’ve had in my entire life. Tasted as if some pieces of meat were several days old. I ordered at 3:45pm—when the kitchen should have zero excuses. The quality has tanked so badly it’s almost shocking. The restaurant that once proudly appeared on Check Please, Bay Area is now barely recognizable. I’m done. Singapore noodles, sweet-and-sour chicken, basil chicken with white meat—every single one a disappointment.🤮😕
I ordered Uber Eats so I’m not sure how the sit in would be like. I ordered chicken wings, sweet & sour fish, Mongolian beef & one of their chef, special seafood platter. The chicken was ok, it wasn’t too bad or good. The fish one the other hand was super dry and hard. Tastes like sweet fish that’s over fried with lots of batter. You can barely see any fish if you bite it in 1/2. As for the Mongolian beef, it’s not spicy so I’m not even sure if that’s what u ordered. The feef wasn’t too hard but it’s missing that taste so I felt like they gave me stir fry beef instead. The seafood has only a few pieces of seafood. It’s less than a normal small Chinese rice bowl with mixed veggies inside. This meal is definitely not with what I paid for since we tossed most of it away.
