Loved this place! They serve brunch and dinner with a Thai-inspired menu, and everything we tried was delicious. I had the iced oat matcha latte and my partner had the iced coffee—both were great, and the cup presentation was so cute. I ordered the shakshuka plate which was super filling—the cheese and egg were perfect, and the sauce was rich and flavorful. My partner got the croffle and chicken sandwich with a fried egg, and it was amazing. The sweet-and-sour aïoli dipping sauce was my favorite part and I’ll definitely ask for extra next time. The space is classic yet modern—clean, stylish, and super welcoming atmosphere with a wide range of seating options for small to larger parties. We’ll absolutely be back to try more brunch options, especially since they have pandan toast!
We had an excellent experience here! Loved the food - we had a shakshuka and an avo toast. The food was delicious and looked grat. The restaurant inside is a bit dark for a breakfast spot, but the interiors are nice. It was not too busy on a Sunday at 1pm and we could be seated immediately. The food came out very fast and the staff were friendly.
Came for brunch on a chilly Sunday morning. Called ahead and they were able to accommodate quickly. Small space so it’s better for smaller groups of 4. Friendly and fast service. Bright and airy. Wine and mimosa list. Would come back!
I ordered the Fried chicken Benedict and Thai iced tea. The chicken itself was a huge surprise. It was amazingly tender. Them it was layered with many levels of flavors, including the two sauces and sauteed spinach. It was truly delicious and memorable. I do wish the restaurant would add some more sound absorption. We were there during peak brunch, and it was very loud and hard for conversation.
I would eat all three over again if I had the room. Small menu but so many good options. Got a wagyu burger, a mushroom tempora dish and the French toast. Treat yourself!
Very cute and stylish brunch spot on Polk. They take reservations starting from 4 people so two of us + a baby in a stroller needed to get on a waiting list which was really short on a Saturday noon so we got a table in 5 minutes. We ordered Buttermilk fried chicken Benedict and lamb croissant. Both were delicious and fresh, lots of veggies on a side and the presentation was excellent too! Service was fast and friendly and the total vibe was nice and relaxed. Definitely a place to come back! I’d say it’s pretty kids friendly too.
We really enjoyed this new restaurant in the Polk Street area. Everything is well thought out and the portion quite generous. Very comfortable seating with terrific focus on services. I love their ceramic mugs and places. The combination of Thai and Australia cuisine in their menu are unique. Highly recommend it!
We had benny smoked salmon and benny mushroom, for dessert pancakes with rasberry sauce. Everything was so delish and their foamy cappuccino was amazing. Great and quick service!
Top notch breakfast and service! 5 star experience from start to finish. The interior is very bright, cherry and welcoming and we found the service to be superb. The food was Amezing. I had pretty big bacon and Shashuka both were delicious. My friends had big breakfast, waffle and smash wagyu beef were very tasty and presented, beautifully! Overall the food, drinks, service and interiors were all great! We will be back again. Honestly, just go and see for yourself. This place is awesome.
Man - not a single complaint. The food was SO GOOD. Our party of 3 was sat immediately. The atmosphere was tranquil and the interior design was very appealing, but honestly nothing beat our meal. It was served promptly and the service was so kind and attentive. We were offered refills and waited on regularly. Man - if you want a visually appealing and delicious meal with little to no wait, this is your spot. Pictured is the French Toast and the Buttermilk Chicken Benny
Wow!!! This place is a hidden gem, I am here for a conference and went to yoga down the street and omg it was so amazing! The presentation of the food was stunning and there was no one there so I do truly hope it’s here next year when I come! The atmosphere is stunning and because I was the only one the service was just as good! I am coming back tomorrow! It is well worth the drive or uber or bike ride! I had both the nova salmon and the thai french toast! Both were fantastic but the salmon toast was just divine.
This new breakfast spot on Polk is a must try!! Rise & Set has everything from the delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, and good location on polk. The staff were lovely and friendly. I even met with the owner who was extremely courteous! The food was beautifully decorated and the taste was excellent. 10/10 🎉🎉
Such a cute spot. Went here for a weekday breakfast at lunch time for the first time. Nice decor, comfortable and clean. Great food. I got the salmon steak. It was so good. Salmon was cooked well, loved the sweet potato puree and combo of veggies prepared in different ways
Wow this is the cutest new brunch spot in Polk Gulch! Ambience was high end yet cozy, food and drinks hit the spot and the overall experience was top notch! We can’t wait to go back to try the other menu items; everything looked so tasty it was hard to choose!

This place is amazing. We saw they just opened and decided to stop by. The restaurant is beautiful and so comfy. The food was everything we wanted and more. Had the best tai iced and snowy coffee. The burger I had is easily in my top 3 list in SF. The staff was so kind and quick with everything. This is a must stop and is easily be the best brunch off Polk

This place is incredible. We stumbled upon this restaurant on a Monday evening during the “soft launch” of the dinner menu. My family and I tried 3 dishes. The Rangsit Chicken, Khao Pad Mun Nuer, and Duck Curry. All 10/10 meals! The service was great, the waitress even asked for what they can do better…we had nothing to add!. The vibe and music was really cool. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good meal and chill atmosphere.
Best brunch in SF! The restaurant was beautifully designed from the interior architecture details and high ceilings to the furnishings/light fixtures and lovely plates, silverware, glassware/colorful coffee cups and napkins. The floor-to-ceiling windows facing the street provide extraordinary natural light making the dining experience light and stress-free. And the food is just as lovely. We ordered the Crying Tiger Sandwich ($28) and Smashed Wagyu Burger ($21) both accompanied with French fries. The meat of both sandwiches was tender and well spiced, expertly prepared. The French fries were the best I’ve ever tasted. They were crispy, a substantial cut of fries and accompanied with a delicious dipping sauce. Service was attentive and pleasant. The kitchen was efficient. Our food was delivered quickly after we ordered and hot. We’ll definitely will return. Don’t miss this gem!
Very good Thai food. They just soft opening. Must try !!

We came to rise and set on May 17th. We arrived close to the end of their lunch time. I would say maybe an hour and thirty minutes before they closed. There was about four other tables already seated when we got there and we were seated quite quickly. Considering the amount of tables still seated at the restaurant when we arrived, the frequency of checking in on us was not a lot. After the server took our order we did have to flag them down a few times to get more water and then to get our check as well. The space itself was still practically brand new as it hadn't only been open for a few months. Beautiful interior, there were some very nice light fixtures throughout the restaurant, and even the cutlery and tableware were very appealing to the eyes. Regarding the food overall the food was good but it was definitely missing a little bit of that flavor punch needed. For example the ribeye I got was a bit chewy and was lacking flavor when it came to a little bit more salt maybe a little citrus or acid to really brighten up the other herbs that were used to marinate the meat prior to cooking. The burger was cooked perfectly but it did need a little extra seasoning either salt pepper or a little spice to bring out the flavors of the meat. I will say the fries were delicious though perfectly crispy on the outside, with a little bit of softness in the middle. We almost ordered a third serving of those. Overall I would say good atmosphere, generally good service, food was good needed a little extra spice for some things and with the ribeye it should not be chewy.

new nob hill brunch spot worth a visit! all of the thai dishes were well made and fairly unique. cute interior perfect for catching up with friends. nova smoked salmon tartine: well made with fresh ingredients. as expected tom yum crispy chicken: top tier and so unique! chicken was perfectly cooked and crispy. tom yum sauce was a pleasant surprise and the best part. scrambled tom yum prawn: delicious omelette with great tom yum flavoring. prawns were juicy and cooked well.
Rise I'm Set is a good restaurant. I had brunch here and the food was really good as well as the drink I got, the big bacon omelette and Thai iced tea. I am rating it 4 stars because when me and my group got seated it took 30 minutes for our waitress to take our orders, I also noticed our waitress was on her phone calling someone while getting us water, that is not normal. Overall I would go here again but if you are inpatient it is not a good place for you as the wait for food as well as the wait to get out is pretty long, the atmosphere is decent as it is loud but the food and drinks were good, 4 stars.
I am a breakfast/brunch person, so when I heard about this new restaurant opening in my neighborhood, I thought I would give it a try. The restaurant is spacious (use to be a Thai restaurant), airy and with lots of natural sunlight. I like the way they changed the outside dining area - looks cleaner and more presentable than the previous restaurant). This restaurant did not meet my expectations. I wanted drip coffee - they only have those "special" coffees. I asked for ice in my cup of water. When served, there wasn't even one ice cube. I had to ask twice for a glass of ice. The third downer is that the menu is limited - not what I consider a breakfast/brunch menu. The food is presented well. Some dishes were okay (some were on the salty side and some were a wee bit overcook) but not one dish stood out except for maybe the salmon which was well cooked on the outside but tender in the inside. This is a pretty decent restaurant on this side of Polk.
I really want to like this place. The service was generally good and the atmosphere and ambiance is perfect - I love the color scheme and the layout and fixtures. The food was uneven and the service at the end could have been better- My oat latte was great, and the avocado toast was pretty good, but the fries were very undercooked, soggy and cold. I didn’t eat them at all. When I told the server about it, she didn’t apologize and just walked away. The fries were not taken off the bill and I was forced to pay for them (see photo attached). This place could be great - just please own your mistakes and don’t make the customer pay when you mess up, please. My total spend after tax/tip $38.62 which is a little excessive for a latte, avocado toast, and a side of fries that were inedible….

What a beautiful place this is when we entered, very aesthetically done up. Now I come to the food, which was a complete let down for us…. We ordered the Shakshouka and my god what a let down this was, they actually used the Italian tomato sauce as the base (maybe it was their style), but surely wasn’t mentioned on the menu, and we definitely were not ready for this, the Nova smoked salmon was just ok. The staff were kind enough to replace the Shakshouka and we got a buttermilk fries chicken, the chicken was so fried that it’s not worth mentioning, and the Wagyu burger was nowhere near the W of Wagyu. Have been terribly disappointed with this place. Hope they can do better.
