Tavola Rustica is a Larkspur gem with exceptional service and delicious Italian food. Standout dishes include the oxtail pappardelle, pizzas, and pastas like gnocchi and ravioli. Some found appetizers inconsistent, but mains and atmosphere are highly praised.

Tip: Come for the mains, especially the pastas and pizzas, and enjoy the warm hospitality. The wine, grown in Mendocino, is also highly recommended.

Fabulous food, warm sincere hospitality, and lovely atmosphere. The wine list is refreshingly interesting and delicious. The persimmon buratta toast was as sumptuous as you could imagine, but somehow delicate. Their nebbiolo braised oxtail pappardelle was complex and rich without being heavy. If I had a grandmother who cooked, this is what I imagine she’d make. Took home the tagine for my vegan partner who devoured it & loved its peppery heartiness. If you’re someone who is sensitive to terrible lighting, you’ll love it here, and you’ll look gorgeous in the rose-gold hues. Can’t wait to go back!
The oxtail paperdele was rich, tender and deeply flavored and tasted fresh and delicious. Loved the outdoor/indoor feel with the heated canteens and blankets on the seats.
If you’re looking for truly exceptional Italian food in Larkspur, CA, Tavola Rustica is an absolute must. Located conveniently upstairs from our salon, this hidden gem consistently delivers some of the most delicious, authentic Italian cuisine in Marin County. From handmade pastas and wood-fired pizzas to seasonal specials and decadent desserts, every dish is prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and so much care. The ambiance is cozy yet elevated, perfect for a romantic date night, family dinner, or just treating yourself after a long day. The service is always warm and attentive, and the wine list is thoughtfully curated to complement the menu beautifully. As a local business owner, I’m so grateful to have Tavola Rustica as our neighbor. I recommend it to all our clients and friends, and it never disappoints. If you’re searching for the best Italian restaurant in Larkspur or anywhere in Marin, look no further—Tavola Rustica is it
I decided to try the Rustic the day I returned from a weeklong trip to Italy. I was not disappointed. My group shared their little gems salad which was so fresh and delicious and two pastas and a pizza. We also topped off the meal with their tiramisu. The food was plentiful and truly rivaled some of what we ate in Italy in terms of quality. Service was also top notch. I love Picco just as much as everyone else, but this place is just as good and way less crowded. Definitely going back soon to try out their weekend brunch!
Great new restaurant in Larkspur, I love the Vegetable Tangine, they removed the dill yogurt for me to make it vegan. It is served physically hot, between the Fregola and the Vegetables, the sauce felt light and full. I want to try a pizza, and ai am already wanting this dish again! Amy enjoyed the risotto and we split the Little Gem salad, which is why it looks small. The salad looked basic, and delivered like you can and should when you are here in the Bay Area. The lettuce was delicious, lightly coated with a vegan Green Goddess dressing which accented the crisp leaves, perfectly ripe avocado added to the rich contrast and crunch of the thin slices of radish and croutons. I’d eat this salad any day! We weren’t in for dessert, next time I’ll indulge with some sorbet!
Very nice staff and great wine, which is their own and grown in Mendocino. The grilled peach appetizer and sausage pizza were lovely. It’s a lot less congested than Picco, too, which was nice. Welcome to Larkspur!
We like the decor and atmosphere. Service is very friendly and attentive. Food is fairly authentic - but the carpaccio actually was coppa.
The butternut squash risotto 👌Only suggestion is perhaps go a bit lighter on the cheese (at least my preference) 😉
Service was 10/10. Food was also great. We had a variety of pastas including gnocchi and the ravioli. So good. Really hoping this SF outputs gets the Marin love!

A true Larkspur gem! The service at Tavola Rustica is exceptional—Zoti and his team are warm, professional, and incredibly attentive from the moment you walk in. The food is just as impressive. The lamb shank was a standout—perfectly braised in white wine and so tender it fell apart with just a fork. We also loved the hand-cut pappardelle; the pasta was clearly fresh and the rich oxtail ragu was out of this world. What really sets this place apart is the wine list. It’s creative and full of interesting bottles you don't see everywhere, clearly curated by someone with a deep passion for wine. Whether you're dining on the airy patio or in the cozy dining room, it’s a perfect spot for a high-quality, friendly neighborhood meal.
Great find for us in Larkspur, I had the pre fix lunch, with the wine pairing. Highly recommend. My partner had the seafood pasta dish and was also impressed. Is definitely recommend this spot.
An overlooked gem of this restaurant is the pizza which I find to be the best in the neighborhood. I get the margherita with anchovies and it is excellent. The dough is way better than what they serve down the street.
It's delicious Italian food... I went for the oxtail ragu on a rainy night, and completely hit that comfort food need i was having.

My partner and I had a wonderful meal! She had the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe and I had the Speck pizza (crispy prosciutto, gorgonzola and caramelized onions) and shoestring french fries. Our server was wonderful and the place was full of happy patrons!!! We will definitely be returning to try a different menu items.
Tavola Rustica quickly became our go-to in Larkspur. Super chill vibes, delicious food. So far I’m hooked on the fried chicken and steak, but still working my way through the menu — pizza looked legit, that’s next. Great spot, can’t go wrong.
Nice new option in Larkspur. Food is good but can use some fine tuning. Frito Misto was almost all lemon slices and small bits of veggies, with one shrimp. Not the mix I expected for an expensive appetizer. Lots of pesto dishes, which I love, but their version is unusually mild; seems like it needed more garlic and/or nuts. The steak was well cooked and very flavorful - as long as you like pepper. The broccoli that came with it was well flavored but undercooked; stems almost raw.
Overall A: consistently delivers truly exceptional Italian food, service, atmosphere. Supper of delicious handmade petso pasta ravioli, bolognese, pistachio ice cream. Highly recommend.

We got the Burrata, Vegetable Tagine and the Butternut Squash Risotto. The squash in the risotto felt undercooked, but otherwise the food and experience was great.
Our service was amazing! I was let down by the appetizers (I’m looking at your meatballs), but the oxtail beef ragu we had was stunning. Come here for the mains, the ambiance, and great service.

They have only a few vegan / gf items but all were really good. Salad, broccolini(yum!!) and the build your own gluten free pasta is great!! So bummed the regular pasta noodles are not vegan! Can’t please everyone but pasta so rarely has eggs, it’s a real sad day when it does. The place is so pretty and in such a cute area of Larkspur, I hope to convince my husband to try the GF pasta because I’d definitely go back.
Decent restaurant. Some dishes were really good, some were eh. The pesto ravioli and eggplant parm were absolutely incredible. The meatballs were pretty good, and the pizza overcooked and eh. I felt like the flavorings and dishes were generally good but the major reason I docked a few stars is the ingredients didn’t taste or seem to be too great of quality. The breads seemed store bought and spongy, the meatballs used poor quality beef and pork, etc. For an expensive local familial restaurant I thought more of the menu would be handmade. The pasta and pizza I believe were handmade. Personally, I’d skip this restaurant. If anyone does go though, I think pasta dishes are their speciality. I legitimately enjoyed the Pesto Ravioli and Eggplant Parmesan.
We decided to try this place for date night. I would say the service was OK and the food pretty average. Specifically, the host was friendly, but also a little condescending. The waiter was OK but when he first approached us, he did not offer to take her drink order or tell us what the special soup was. He did come and check on us during the meal and he paced the courses. The food was pretty darn average. We had the Barada salad and it was pretty thin on tomatoes, which certainly did not appear to be heirloom. There were maybe three or four wedges of tomatoes. The shoe string fries were good but the sauce that they came with pretty much tasted like thousand island dressing. The branzino was good but very small and did not melt in our mouth. We had a side dish too but it was pretty darn average. Overall, nothing to write home about and on a street that is home to Picco, left bank, Perry’s and Keiko, I would go to those places first.

Not sure how I feel I ordered to go and once I arrived home I realized they ripped me off. They charge you for the pasta then they charge you extra for the protein to only add 5 pieces of shrimp. Not even olive garden! And the pasta is not even that good!
