Went with a group from the Berkeley Food Institute and got a chance to hear one of the owners talk about how the business developed and how they source their food. He was genuine and transparent about everything, what a great company. The pandemic hit them hard, but they are still thriving. Really an informative and inspiring experience. And the Cubano was killer! Staff was patient, respectful and friendly. 5 stars all around!
Really tasty veggie food, great flavours & nice portions. Cocktails pretty good too, good balance of flavour and alcohol - can’t go wrong with that! Loved the Latin ambiance/music and the service - attentive and friendly.
Went there for late lunch. Had selections from Happy Hour menu. All were delicious! Cauliflower wings were the clear winner.... watch out for orange-red dipping sauce. Heat comes on after! Shrimp and chicken lettuce tacos were very flavorful. Sat in courtyard, was tranquil and sunny. A truly wonderful experience. Will return without a doubt.
The food there makes you feel good after eating it. The sake cocktails are delicious. Love the patio space.
Great place to get great tasting food that is also healthy. It is a good alternative to the greasy spoons near by. I really enjoy their smoothies as they are able to fill you as well. Very hardy smoothies. They serve beer as well, but I have never been in a situation where that sounded appetizing there.
Tha Peruvian Burrito is my favorite option along with any juice on the menu. God is good and these guys were rated 26 in tha world. Right down the street for the ultimate dining experience the Best Kitchen and Its so casual Love these people for being so fantastic
Everything tasted very fresh and good. Only been there 2 times. If you get banana bread probably ask them to heat it first:) this time I had the chicken avocado sandwich and it was wonderful.
Homey café in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco. They've got vegan and vegetarian options in spades. Had the Power Bowl and it was delicious. I liked this place a lot more than I initially thought I would. 10/10 would eat again.
Great little plant based shop. Have ordered from there several times and always got consistent service and taste. Sanwiches are great as well as the desserts. Large portions and reasonable prices espcially for vegan options
I love this place. The Buffalo cauliflower is amazingly spicy recommend for those who love spiciness. I also love the "cheesy" potatoes they have. The salads are great too. Will always come back to this place.
This place is soooo good! I got the breakfast burrito with the the pesto tofu and I did not expect it to be as good as it was but it was great. I wanted to leave a review because I really loved it so much.
I ordered a lunch from them through DoorDash. So freaking delicious! Spring rolls, cashew avocado chicken salad and green juice. I’ve just texted my husband that this is my new favorite place!
Fantastic food (the lomo saltado is a personal favorite) and a great atmosphere. The food always comes out quickly and there is never a line. A true hidden gem in the neighborhood! Especially for brunch, but the dinner is great too. They have fantastic fries!
Very delicious and healthy food that’s served gourmet style at a very good price point. The dinning experience from start to finish was quite welcoming and everyone was super friendly and attentive. I ordered a tasty cafe mocha and their beautifully presented avocado toast (A work of Art) probably the best avocado toast I’ve ever had in my life. Well worth the visit and I’ll be back for more delicious healthy food that’s not over priced. Thanks for a great dinning experience. I love how you can buy any of the plants displayed inside. Reminds me of my home since I have plants everywhere.
ORGANIC food menu!! On a business trip from Portland and we always 2 a difficult time finding genuine organic restaurants and when we do, they aren’t usually open for dinner. THE PLANT has everything you need! We had the unicorn tots and BLT avocado (bacon was tremendously delicious!!) and a green juice. The staff was helpful and genuinely very nice people. Lots of space inside but their indoor courtyard was such a pleasant place to enjoy our food. Highly recommend you ear here. We are coming back before we leave.
First time here. Quality of the food and beverages is excellent. The service staff are friendly and helpful. If you love organic food this is the place. Will definitely return. As a bonus, you can walk down by the water and enjoy the bay afterwards.
Great place for some pre-game drinks and food. Lots of Gluten Free options and vegan and other dietary needs. Covering GF items that normally wouldn’t be GF so great to indulge! Highly recommend the meatballs!
Wonderful staff and ambiance. Great lattes. Loved the Latin music 🎶. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Wi-Fi available. Mimosas available for Sunday brunch as well ❤️ Food was delicious!
Lovely space and friendly staff! The back patio is super cute and cozy. A little gem with healthy food options in the Dogpatch.
Very good authentic Peruvian Mexican food

The food was PHENOMENAL! Everything was fresh, prepared so nicely and service was great. This was our family's first time there and we will be coming back. The atmosphere was great and there is a lovely patio area in the back. If you are looking for amazing organic meals and a good coffee go here. Ive only ever left a handful of reviews for businesses but felt i needed to leave one for this cafe as i was it was so above and beyond.
Plant cafe is underrated! Love the salads and sandwiches and the outdoor patio is a great touch.
Nice place for vegan food. The staff is friendly and the food delicious. Will definitely return. Too bad they close at 3:00 but hoping they will be open later at some point. So happy to have a reply to my review that The Plant will be open later starting in July 2025. Thanks!!
I was in SF for a concert for 2 nights & had a hard time finding something on the healthy side that did not have crazy prices. The first time I was there I ordered the Burrito Mojado from the brunch menu & it was really good. The environment was super nice & the staff was friendly. I liked it so I came back the next morning for breakfast. I ordered the egg breakfast burrito & I also really liked that too. The chipotle sauce that came with it did taste a little weird but not bad. I also ordered a mango smoothie which was delicious. We sat in the back area which was nice & fresh. Definitely would come here again.
I loved this place!! I came here with my family, and their menu is adaptable for everyone. Their coffee is amazona as well! And very reasonable prices
My weekly go-to for a healthy and fresh lunch. Wonderful cafe (with outside patio) and offering a wide menu of fresh; all organic selections. And the employees are all so nice. Support this great business in Dogpatch.
Lovely place for healthy, organic food. Great vibe here, and friendly staff. Met the owner Matt and he was very kind. I loved my chicken empanadas which were homemade and super yum and not dry at all. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to go back and try some of their other options. 😋

The staff is great - 5 stars for such lovely people. They have a great patio area as well that I love. The food is a bit underwhelming, but I do enjoy the breakfast burrito and smoothies.
I do love it her for breakfast and brunch. Can get a little pricey if you have a big appetite like me! But I’d rather pay a little more for healthy, good quality ingredients. They have a few branches, the ones in the financial area can get busy before and after work as well as lunch times. Some of the branches are not open weekends - annoyingly!
1st time getting the vegan burger was great - prep, taste and quality. 2nd time, not so. Consistency is the key. Public transport is easy on metro. Spacious ambience.
Probably the best place in the building, if not the neighborhood if you're looking for fresh salads and/or juices. Brought a vegan friend there. She was ecstatic about the options. I have never been disappointed either. Unfortunately, it's also a bit on the pricey side, similar to the locations downtown and on the Embarcadero. However, this neighborhood has a less posh clientele. Otherwise, it could be am everyday place for me. (They don't offer any special program for loyal eaters, though)
Nice place. A bit noisy. Nice employees. Clean.
They offer a decent selection of both plant-based and standard healthy fare (if your in this area it's a good stop for lunch). The menu items are decent though not as inspringingly flavored as they could be. And it's not the place to get a good smoothie - yet. Since the vibe of the place is good overall, hopefully, they will keep improving the culinary elements. It's good place to go, but didn't wow me yet - I'd give it another chance though.
Ordered deluxe vegan burger with a side of soup. Filling portions. Good quality. Simple and warm soup. The burger was nothing exceptional but not too bad either. Buns could have been a little more toasted and some more sauce would have been good too.
Plant based menu with 2/3 of the options not plant based and vegan options not marked .. I would not recommend it to a strict vegan.. The manager pointed to a couple items and said “ these are vegan”, and I guess I was supposed to remember..,I spent over 15 minutes and 3 different servers to get clarification on what was vegan.. It didn’t seem important for them to know that
The food here was good albeit very pricey. It has a very modern industrial vibe, although the staff seems like either they would rather be somewhere else or they would rather you be somewhere else. It wasn't that the staff wasn't friendly when approached, they just weren't very approachable and generally very busy. This place definitely caters to a very niche market of customer.
Don’t order the mac n’ cheese. Extremely bland, the cashew sauce has no flavor. Burger is mid but not bad.
Although I don't usually find myself in Dogpatch, The Plant called me in with a wide variety of vegan menu items. I was truthfully underwhelmed with my selections. I asked for the vegan avocado BLT, the totchos, and vegan mac n' cheese. The totchos arrived to start: home-made tater tots with dairy-free cheeze sauce, beans, pico de gallo, and fresh jalapeno. The flavor was tasty overall, but the house's rendition of tater tots was not the crispy potato puffs I had in mind. The tots were more like herbed dumplings. Although they were flavorful, something more crispy would have complemented the other textures of the dish. As a rule of thumb, if a place has vegan mac, I will order it. However, I will keep my opinions of the mac n' cheeze brief: absolutely the worst vegan mac I have ever had. The pasta was incredibly overcooked and mushy, and the sauce was more of a bland, buttery paste than a cheesy sauce. Aside from the parsley garnish, it was as if no seasonings were used. A small child might enjoy the blandness of this comfort dish, but I highly advise against ordering this, as a person with taste buds. In regard to my sandwich, I never received a BLT. There was a mixup with my order and got the Deluxe burger which had a home-made veggie patty, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheeze, and vegan bacon. Although they offered to replace it, I just decided to stick with what they gave me. First thing's first, all of the produce was fresh and flavorful, and I really enjoyed the cut and cook of the onions. However, a soft, dull patty and mealy bun took away from the experience. Was it terrible? No. Would I order it again? Also, no. The Plant uses Hooray vegan bacon, which I had not heard of and was excited to try, and although the flavor was really good, it was chewy and undercooked. I can only imagine the disappointment I would have felt if I received my intended order only to get a soppy, chewy sandwich. As for the side, the soup of the day (tomato) was a tasty surprise, with a subtle kick of heat and a creamy texture. Ultimately, I was not impressed with The Plant, but I am appreciative of the amount of clean, fresh, and organic ingredients they use, in addition to the amount of plant-based options. My critique is to refine the flavors of an already enticing menu. Not the worst, but no the best, especially for something a little out of the way and some may say a little pricey. The ambiance, especially with the outdoor seating, was quite quaint and welcoming, and I would dine again just for the setting alone.

For a place called plant Cafe that clames to cater to vegans I was quite taken back by my servers lake of knowledge of what vegan means. If your don't care if your food is contaminated with animal products I guess it's fine but if you're a real vegan avoid this fake plant cafe
I was really looking forward to trying their food but we waited until 10:10 and it still didn’t open so we left and went elsewhere. I could hear them inside but no luck getting in. We weren’t the only ones who left waiting on them to open.
Very mediocre food. I don't recommend their chicken. It feels like they kept it from a few days ago and just reheated it.
Came here for a team lunch, the food was very bland and vegetarian burger was very mushy. Had to ask for additional sriracha as flavor.

Good food, nice people, way way way understaffed and undertrained! A roasted chix. Sandwich shouldn't take 40 minutes to serve. We watched as the takeout orders were fiiled from 1145 until we finally received our order at 1225. I had the ice matcha last time. The staff asked if I liked it, because it was the first one she ever served cold. It was horrible. Please spend time training better. The 5th brought a salad and took our number and reassigned it before we received the rest of our order. There was 3 number 4's all waiting for different orders. I won't be back anytime soon. Lunch shouldn't be this difficult.
Expensive and not worth it. Nice staff. Food is mediocre but for price should be much better. Many better places along the 3rd Street corridor. Chai latte tastes terrible (very sour, maybe almond milk went bad, maybe bad mix?).
If I can give a -3 I would.. Let's just say it took almost 40 minutes to get our food when "no one was even in the restaurant yet".. We waited and waited for our order order, ribs and a side of Mac and cheese which should probably take no more than 15 minutes at most but all they kept saying was its coming.. So for anyone who's looking for quick and easy service don't waste your time and money at this place.. and by the way the food was not good at all..
i paid $7 for soup. I got the tiniest soup ever that was all broth. bread came with it. it was untoasted, unwarmed, stale bread clearly just taken out of the package. there was no care that went into this food. very dissapointing.
This place has really gone downhill. Service was indifferent, food arrived cold, and the atmosphere felt chaotic and poorly managed. The owner Matthew was dismissive and I hope this place shuts down ASAP. Disappointing on every level.
