Was Kunden über Ballast Point Tasting Room & Kitchen sagen
Ballast Point is a spacious, modern pub with a great beer selection, especially IPAs. It's conveniently located near Chase Center. Customers praise the food, especially the fries and pretzel bites, and the attentive service. Some find certain dishes like wings or falafel underwhelming.

Chill after work vibe. Foods were pretty decent here. If you haven’t tried Ballast Point, try their IPAs.
New brewery with a lot of attention to detail! The food was all piping hot, fresh and delicious, the beers cold and fast, the space open and bright and modern. We tried the chicken wings (spicy, crispy and juicy), millionaire's bacon (indulgent, delicious), and the falafel (moist and flavorful). They have 4oz, 8oz and 16oz pours available, with a heavy pour for a 8oz! They're still working through some new business things, like needing a proper method for wait list and needing some artwork on some walls, but the actual experience was excellent. I hope they add some sours to the list!
Lots of seating inside, bright and spacious. Good for groups and socializing and board games... Great food menu beyond the usual bar food. The garlic fries were piping hot - so good. Wings were saucy. Good draft selection and they have sours and ciders... and kombucha too?! Love love love. Hard to park - limited street parking and garages are hard to access unless you work near by, so you might need to walk a few blocks.
Everything was on point here. We've been to Ballast before but in Anaheim and were so excited to see they had a location in SF. Beer selection was great (on top of being tasty), food was delicious (best fries), and service was top notch. We parked in the street in the Potrero Hill area just a few blocks away but overheard that parking can be validated from the garage next door.
One of the best brewery. Good vibe, everything is QR Code menu driven, so no pressure, you can relax and take your time. Good food and of course very good beer with lots of choices. You can create your own flight by getting each beer in 4 oz portions. And the venue is well decorated with colorful LED and mural, which is great for photos too.
Trick :Order lots of beers 4 oz to make yourself a beer flight. It's super fun, we get to try as many different beers as we want. We seated ourselves. We order from the QR code. The staff is all super nice and attentive. The vibe in this bar is awesome. Love the decor, it's so modern and so Spacey. We went Friday evening and it's almost packed. Good news, they opened at 11 AM now. & Free wifi. Love love love this awesome drinking place.
I've been to the San Diego location, and this one is just as amazing. The SD one sits you on the water with a completely different vibe. This one is alot bigger, and more indoor. Very lively in here with some great food as well. They do the little QR scanner thing to order and it worked extremely well. Got our food to our table super quick. The staff was super nice and talkative. The beer was obviously great. I would highly recommend when in the area, or just visiting SF. Loved it here
Great spot! Ballast Point is huge (2 massive bars, 15+ TVs), it’s spacious and most of all: it’s a great addition to San Francisco. It’s located a short (3 min) walk from Chase Center so perfect for pre-game/concert drinks, and it’s one of the few places in SF where you could easily show up with a group of 10+ people and have plenty of space. They have a small in-house setup for some local brews, alongside a big list of their classic beers and wines. And there is food too! Definitely will be back to watch some sports events or try some of their beers!
Big, brand-new space that is super convenient to Golden State arena. Impressive, fairly priced menu. Pleasant, helpful staff even when busy. Plenty of range, focusing on IPAs. Back to being a craft brewery in recent years, too. Not as picturesque as an oceanfront spot, but still impressive.
Great selection of beers at this new tasting room. Wish they had the habaneros sculpin on tap; apparently it’s starting production again but not available right now. Beers available in 4, 8, and 16 ounces so you can create your own flight. Tried the aloha sculpin which I haven’t had before. The short ribs are great also.
Ballast Point Brewing San Francisco offers beer and food. Both were of high quality, and the service was satisfactory.

Nice beer hall near the Chase Center. It's been years since I've had a Ballast Point Sculpin, so I started with the Imperial Sculpin. Decent. I wanted to mix it up so next up was the Sour Wench Blackberry Ale. Was also decent. Overall, decent experience. Would stop in again next time in San Francisco
Good food and beer. Large bar and dining/ lounge to accommodate small to large groups. Pretzel bites are a must try, the cheese sauce it comes with is delicious. Had a few of their entrees, but my go to is their Fried Chicken Thigh Sando. Great place to grub and have a beer after a long day of work, solo or with coworkers.
Lots of space and seating for any sized groups. Went with a party of 3 in the afternoon. You can order with a QR code from your table. I enjoy that convenience. Order some different beers. 3 sized available for many of the beverages. So if you just want to sip, you can. I do think a flight would be a good addition to the menu, which currently is not available. They do a brunch every Saturday and Sunday with specialty food items not served during the week. Being from Buffalo, I always order wings anywhere I go to see how every does it. I asked for extra crispy and extra saucy. 🤣 well you guys tried! They weren’t really crispy, but had a nice enough flavor sauce wise, that they weren’t terrible. Need to be spicier… and served with ranch!!?? The chicken Parm sliders were good. Good plate to share. Service was friendly. Bathrooms were clean. An overall nice visit from the east coast, to finally see the brewery we enjoy over here in NY.
This place is a great place to get some good hand crafted beers. I love their IPA’s. The food here is also pretty good. I got their fish and chips. It came out nice and hot. The batter was nice and crunchy and the fish was nice and flaky. I have to say their Michelada cocktail sauce was a nice twist with keeping it in the theme of beer and cocktails.

Beer was super solid, as expected. The wings were 3/5 at best, a bit of a letdown to get 6 wings for $18 that weren't very good. Otherwise a great spot! Good vibes, very clean and inviting. One random side note is that this multi million dollar brewery/taproom could spend like $50 for a single restroom sign Restrooms are hidden behind the host stand hella hard to find
Great place to stop by before the Warriors game for food and drinks. Lots of great selections here, but you won't find the entire classic Ballast Point beers or experimental menu items at this location. Good happy hour for food and drinks. The burger was delicious and they were able to cut it in half for us in the kitchen. The garlic Parmesan fries are tasty with a huge portion and plenty of garlic. Don't expect to kiss anyone after having the garlic Parmesan fries haha. Lots of seating, but not enough servers. Hard to track someone down sometimes to place more orders, but it's much easier from the bar seating.
As someone who hasn’t had a ballast point beer in over a decade; I was really surprised. I had the smash burger, it was great, fries were awesome. Grapefruit Sculpin was solid…will definitely come back.

3-31-23: Came here for drinks and dinner. Tried a hazy IPA and it was okay. Rated 3.5 star ⭐ on untappd. Nothing wrong but I have had a lot better hazy IPAs elsewhere. Ordered the falafel balls and the grilled fish tacos. Again, both did not meet expectations. ☹️ The falafel balls were dry. The menu stated it came with eggplant hummus. I didn't taste eggplant nor hummus. 👎 Tasted like it was made using chickpea flour instead of using whole garbanzo beans. Definitely not as good as Sunrise Deli. The fish tacos lacked kick. Would have been better with some siracha mayo or pickled jalapenos. Service was okay. A lady kept coming by trying to take our plates when we weren't finished. Somewhat annoying.

The service is great the beers are good but the food was not so great. I’ve visited other ballast points in SD, LB and downtown Disney and the food there taste really good like it’s made and not like the flat bread pizza we had here in SF tastes like card board. But I’m to timid to send food back so just left it there and powered through eating the Caesar salad.
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent dining experience at your establishment on 8/30/2025. I had been looking forward to trying your renowned burgers, based on the positive reviews I had heard. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of expectations. The $19 price tag for the burger was simply not justified by the quality of the food. The patty itself was excessively dry and lacked flavor, a stark contrast to the juicy burgers I've enjoyed elsewhere – In-N-Out Burger comes immediately to mind. Furthermore, the burger's construction was suboptimal. The lettuce was placed at the bottom of the bun, leading to a soggy bun and an overall unpleasant eating experience. The excessive height of the burger also made it difficult to eat, requiring me to cut it in order to take a bite. (See attached photos for further illustration of these issues.) While I acknowledge that your establishment may excel in its beverage offerings, the quality of the food, in my opinion, needs significant improvement. My family and I were collectively very dissatisfied and rated our meal one star. We sincerely hope you will take our feedback constructively and address these issues to provide a more enjoyable experience for future diners.
