Simple the best burger in the world! I was pleasantly surprised. I can tell the owner is very dedicated to offer high quality food even though it is for delivery. The meat they used is of the highest quality. And I like that the onion is cooked. Best yet, the bun is home made! Usually you have have to order at least 45 minutes in advance because they are so popular. 😋

This place is quietly one of the top restaurants in the area, and the positive reviews you see here are for real. Super friendly family seems to own + run the place. Absolutely top notch meals + wine experience before COVID. Since, they've converted to selling burger/fries/drinks to go since, and of course, the burger is ridiculously good. Support this place, highly recommend.

Great place. The food is fantastic and the owner makes you feel like you're eating in his own home. Love that they keep the wine flowing and always show guests an awesome time. They also have a fantastic curated wine selection.

Personalized service that one would not expect to find in a small town these days, let alone San Francisco. Excellent food with superb wine pairing. The owner, John, really made us feel welcome and we lived his relaxed attitude with a sharp focus on quality. One of the most rewarding dining experiences we've had!

On Wednesday, I was walking by and saw "$15 Burger and Fries" in the corner of my eye. Everything's reasonably priced looking at the menus. I saw some people doing prep. It looks like the burger window is also where the kitchen is. I ordered it and didn't have to wait long for it. The service was good considering I interrupted them while they were prepping. They joked and were friendly. There were some chairs and two tables so I just sat down. I brought the to-go box home and opened it to find some lukewarm fries and a burger. The fries were a little soggy but I blame that on being in a box. The fries were also a bit bland but the sensational sauces included helped a lot. The burger wasn't the best burger I've had, but it was still decent considering that it had been getting soggy in a box for fifteen minutes. The patty was juicy and there were thick slices of tomato laid on some vibrant lettuce. The bun wasn't very soft however. Also, the cheese had solidified by the time I got home but overall, it was still a decent burger. Review readers, it's not a burger restaurant so don't expect a mind-blowing burger. There was a little sign advertising a prime rib sandwich and fries for the same price ($15) and prime rib seems to be something they make a lot, looking at the menu. I will probably return again in the future to try the other foods this place has to offer and dine in.

I’ve been coming here regularly for the past few months, and every visit is just as good as the last. The service is consistent, and the food tastes fresh each time. My favorite is the grilled chicken salad, light but filling. I keep recommending this place to colleagues.

I haven’t tried their food, but I’m a dedicated customer. Here’s why. I showed up to meet some friends. No reservations. I beat my friends there. The guy at the front was a little perplexed. I told him I didn’t have a reservation but that didn’t seem to be the issue. I told him I was waiting for a few people; instead of placating me, or telling me he didn’t have room or time, he poured me a glass of wine and suggested I relax with a nice Pinot while I waited. His treat. My friends finally arrived and the penny kinda dropped. Turns out, he wasn’t expecting drop in guests and thus, didn’t make enough prep….. The guy (John) apparently makes his menu, special, every night depending on the number of reservations! John continued to treat us like family after my friends arrived. Continued to pour us wine after he seated us just to “relax a bit and enjoy yourself”. He came by every now and then to top off our wine glasses (of which he had no intention of charging us). Long story short, I’ll be making reservations ASAP. If not for the hand prepared food, for the lovely, genuine and kind purveyor of The Richmond. If you want a slice of genuine human nature and good food, this is your spot……

If I only had one restaurant to choose ever it would be The Richmond! The food is thoughtful and perfectly prepared. The service is excellent. The spirit of place is quiet, cozy and friendly. John makes these beautiful rolls that make you forget any other breads you have ever eaten. He is a genius and hard working chef. We had the best Xmas gift: Dinner at The Richmond ❤️

This was my first fine dining experience where you have a set menu. I was skeptical at first weather or not I would enjoy it but I could not have been more wrong. My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary. We are not wealthy, and I've always been hesitant about going to fine dining restaurants in part because its not fun to be in a place and feel as if everyone around you is rich and you are the odd one out who can't distinguish between the various silverware. This was not the case here at all. The setting is private and intimate, so you are not packed in like sardines forced to engage in unwanted conversations with other guests. The chef serves his own food and he was very warm and welcoming and informative but casual. The fixed menu was great. The lamb dish was brilliant, and everything else was fantastic as well. He even threw in some excellent homemade bread which wasn't even part of the menu. I was also surprised that I left feeling full, I'm a bigger guy and can definitely go back for seconds but I left feeling satisfied. No forced themes or ambient music or pretentious minimalist modern artwork on the walls to make you feel insignificant. It truly seems the chef just does what he feels is best and does what he likes. I admire that and it's wonderful to see someone excel with such grace in their craft. Highly recommend.

Hidden gem. The place is awesome. I can't wait to go back. The chef stopped by after each course to check in. The staff was exceptionally prompt. Food was unique and excellent. Menu is always changing and I have only been once so keep that in mind. Wine selection is limited but the prices are reasonable ( I believe these are related). They had a few of my favorite (mid tier) wines, so I couldn't ask for more.

This is a real find! We wanted to catch up with old friends and it was like having a gourmet dinner in our own home. Quiet, atmospheric, incredible food, attentive and warm waitstaff (the chef even came out to talk with us several times) and very reasonable prices considering the quality. The five tables are separated by heavy curtains making it ideal for Covid dining out and well as privacy and noise. Absolutely our new favorite restaurant in SF. We made another reservation before we left.

I honestly don't know how this place isn't Michelin reviewed, it is by far the best meal I've had in NYC. The ambiance is personal and romantic. Great for anniversaries or birthdays. The service is impeccable with the owner John being extremely friendly and helpful. The prie fix meal is an amazing deal and every tasting course was more delicious then the next. Wine menu has some reasonably priced options. Everything is made in house including the fresh bread. I recommend this hidden gem to everyone I know- it's truly an experience.

Loved the intimate prix fix dinner and wine pairing! Dinner was lovely! Really delicious and filling. The wine pairings were generous and complemented the plates (as well as being delicious on their own!). The ambiance was super intimate. We loved it and can’t wait to come back!

Wow, what an experience. Chef came by several times throughout our 5 course meal. Super intimate setting where they only turn over the table once a night. Tables are spaced out with privacy curtains, making you feel like you're the only ones in the restaurant. If you're looking for a romantic date night with delicious food, this place is it. Will definitely be back.

We were able to enjoy our food and talk as if we were the only people in the restaurant. The food was also great. I don't really like butternut squash soup, but I loved John's. Halibut was very delicious that melted in your mouth. The other dishes were also great and wonderfully presented. Even the dinner rolls which they bake in the house, were also delicious. I actually begged John, and he gave me some to take home. I think the local patrons should chip in and buy this place a great espresso machine :). That was the only thing missing for me in this dinner.

Every table has its own pocket, surrounded by curtains, to create a cozy private pocket. I loved the food, especially the ribeye. Two bonus courses. They easily accommodated a shellfish allergy, changing up one of the courses. Everything tasted fresh and was played beautifully. We also had good wine that was reasonably priced. Fantastic dining experience overall.

He was incredibly patient while explaining the wines to us, and he happily struck up conversation with us about the little treasures in the neighborhood. We can’t wait to return and try the menu during every season!

Mushrooms were so delicious. I personally didn’t really like the pork itself since I am the lamb lover. Of course it was paired with another red wine. Dessert was coffee ice cream paired with dessert wine. Since it is my birthday, I also got a special treat: a piece of cheesecake. Thanks chef John for the kindness. I am the cheesecake lover and really like it. Overall experience is super. We got a very private table and excellent service from Jeffrey. It was a very special birthday dinner!

We did the 5 course with the wine pairing. The food was delicious and each course was nicely spaced. The wine was sooo good, and the pours were incredibly generous. We also added the corn bread pudding which was on the 3 course menu as an a la cart and that was one of my favorite dishes. The foie gras was also perfectly balanced and excellent. Definitely come here for a special, personal experience.

The Chef, John, was very accommodating and helped us pre-plan a menu for the night. All the dishes were fantastic but these are the ones you MUST GET: Crab Cake: 5/5 Crispy exterior and moist meaty interior. It was perfect! Red Wine Braised Short Rib w/ Maine Diver Scallop: 5/5 [Best Dish] Scallop was perfectly seared and not overcooked. Short Rib melts in your mouth and explodes with flavor. The creamy polenta was decent but I would rather have creamy mashed potatoes.

However, the 3 course tasting menu is less that $40 a person, which is likely the best price you’ll get in the city. There is also a wine tasting that you can add on. All of the meat and fish dishes were cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend the duck entree, the chicken entree, and the apple crisp for dessert.

This is a family run upscale yet very casual restaurant. The chef comes out a few times during your meal to check on you. He has his own style of cooking that's unique. The corn brioche pudding was very good. The duck was flavorful and the meat falls right of the bone. The chocolate, peanut molten cake.

This charming neighborhood gem has been here for many years. We come here quite often. We enjoy the privacy, very quiet, good food and interesting menu, good service although sometimes a little slow. The prices are very reasonable. Although they could cut down the generous servings and you still wouldn't go home hungry.

This used to be a great restaurant with good food, good affordable wine and a friendly staff. They've changed to a prix fix menu and the food is quite heavy. The owner is flexible if you have dietary restrictions which is good. The wine is still affordable and there is a wide selection. Overall, I probably won't return but it is at least worth a visit.
