I’m a little hesitant to write this review because I’m worried a line is going to start forming out the door and it’s going to be too packed. So yummy, so authentic, and incredibly kind staff + service. I’ve never drank all of the broth before and it’s totally gone. We got the squid tentacle karaage, I got the tonkotsu ramen with pork belly and my partner got the vegan miso ramen. There’s nothing left in our bowls and plates 😋
I've had some good ramen before, especially having visited Japana few years ago, but this spot served some of the best ramen I've ever had! The tonkatsu ramen with pork belly was so filling and delicious. The pork belly was marinated in a sweet but savory marinade that perfectly complemented the ramen broth. And the karaage was so juicy and the right amount of spicy. I will definitely be going here the next time I'm in SF!
We order gochujang garlic chicken wings (😍) Katsu don Miso ramen Tonkatsu super paitan ramen Curry ramen We absolutely love the food. Not sure if the noodles is Japanese noodle, but combined all together makes a good taste in the mouth. Oh, the meat is tender and the eggs are yummy too!! The minus part is the food come out a bit slow. Overall, i think this is better than ramen in Japanese town.
Easy to order via the QR code. I appreciate the fact 15% tip is added and it states "don't tip anymore". I'm not calculating anything and worried of I was rude for not tipping enough or too much. The server was friendly and attentive. Worked put either way. We ordered Shoyu Ramen and Katsu... flavorful and got us full. I would recommend!
Legit! The pork is crazy good! Actually one of the better ramen restaurants in the city! Definitely top 3 and could arguably be top 15 in the USA. No thrill decor inside, just good ol Japanese bowl of ramen. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. This is a San Fran ramen must!
#1 Best Ramen of our lives. My husband and I ate here in May of 2023. Our review is long awaited, but we to this very day talk about how this is the best ramen we have ever had. No other ramen has been able to compare in our experience all the way from the east coast to the Midwest. The broth and ingredients were very fresh and flavorful. Whenever we return to the area again from out of state we will be stopping by and filling our bellies!!
Truly lives up to the 5* review. It was absolutely delicious. Large portions. Our family of 4 shared 2 yakisoba dishes ( beef & seafood) and some pocky - this was perfect. The flavor of these two dishes were slightly different but both so equally delicious. Loved by all 4 of us. I highly recommend this place!! Check out the times it's open though.
This place was really good! It wasn't very crowded when we came for Saturday dinner, and the staff was super nice to let me order a chicken katsudon with steamed veggies instead of rice. The chicken katsu was super tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, and I was glad that I had veggies to go along with them.
Still one of the best ramen experiences of my life — maybe even the best! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked, and every bite was just pure comfort. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely kind and attentive. Highly recommend to any ramen lover — this place is a gem!
I got the Shoyu Ramen with the pork shoulder. I don't have any complaints at all but I'll start the rundown: Bowl was full, Broth was yummy, meat was tender enough, egg was PERFECT, the table spices were so yummy, and the employees were kind! On top of that the bowl was fuller than I've seen a few others lately. I'll remember her for sure 💜. What's cool too is that tip is included AND they gave me complimentary ice cream samples. 10/10
Traveling for a work trip and met with my team for dinner at this location. It was a group of about 12 of us but with QR code ordering, everyone in the restaurant can order at will which was amazing since everyone wasn't ready to order at the same time. This was really cool too because if you wanted something else, you could just scan and order again. This was definitely an experience where the front of house is a one man powerhouse that gets ramen and apps out so quickly and efficiently, we altered all amazed. There is a built in gratuity and several of us tipped cash on top of it. He was clear about the gratuity and insisted it wasn't necessary, but great service and consistency deserves acknowledgement. If I ever journey back this way, I'd definitely bring my family to enjoy the experience.
I can't say enough about the food here. I came on a work trip and was tired and hungry. I ordered the katsu don with chicken and it was so good my feet went numb. Props to the kitchen and wait staff - great establishment.
The food was incredibly fresh and delish. It arrived steaming hot and tasted amazing. The atmosphere was cozy on a chilly night. Ben, the owner was a fantastic host and so kind. We will definitely visit again in the future next time we are near the Marina.
This Ramen restaurant was the best ramen restaurant I’ve ever gone to in my life and I rate it a 5 out of 5 and I recommend you come here. It is in San Francisco and it is it is very good. P.S. you get complimentary ice cream
Highly recommend this place! The atmosphere is very quiet and comfortable, and the food was amazing. We ordered the chicken wings and they were fried perfectly, very crispy, not oily or greasy at all, and the sauce was delicious. The katsudon was good, and I really liked the beef yakisoba as well. The service was very good, and the food quality for the price is surprisingly high. I will definitely come back to try the ramen.
Some of the best ramen we’ve had time and again. We come here often and really like all their ramen! You order from your phone which makes it more convenient. The last time we visited we got a small portion of ice cream for free! The vibe here is also nice and laid back. We come here at least once a month! Highly recommended.
Food is awesome! Great ramen and very tasty! We are just thankful so much to the Indonesian Server who was very patient with us from dropping our chopsticks to spilling glass of water. That man deserves a raise. Kudos. Recommended for Ramen
I rode by here hungry at 9:45pm and they welcomed me with open arms. After a long day of traveling, it felt like an oasis. The vibe is warm, friendly, and unpretentious. The ramen is legit. Easily one of the best bowls I’ve had in the city. I ordered the miso and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. Rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. And here’s the kicker — my entire bill, tip included, was $20. In San Francisco. That’s rare. This place is a gem. If you want great late night food or just top quality ramen without the long wait, this is your spot.
Veg ramen was really comforting! Only thing I'd change would be the spice level -- wish there was a spicy option. Other than that, food was delicious and service was incredible. Our waiter was so quick & kind.
Really nice spot to eat Japanese food at reasonable prices with good portions ! Definitely recommand (especially the gyozas and Oyako-Don) 😋
Amazing ramen!!! Some of the best I’ve ever had and I cannot wait to go back. The 18% service I did not mind and it was so easy to just get up and leave without waiting for the bill. Ramen was so fresh and just absolutely delicious. Plus they give you a little mango ice cream at the end of your meal.
The food is so good! Our kids loved the ramen. The kids also got free ice cream which is so appreciated! We were able to take advantage of happy hour which was awesome. Will try to come back!
Okay! The Tonkatsu ramen was absolutely divine. I couldn’t brag enough. The soup base was extremely creamy, rich, and flavorful; it’s very obvious they care about the quality of their food. The pork belly was hands down the second best part of the dish THICC pieces of kakuni, and they were succulent! I mean come on now. If you haven’t yet, you must come try. Warning: the bowl is filling. I left feeling like I needed to hibernate. Much love ❤️
Torraku Ramen is a great find—fantastic, flavorful ramen that won’t leave you disappointed. Ordering is super easy through your phone with a QR code, and they already include gratuity, so no need to tip extra. They’ve got a few vegetarian options too, which is a nice plus. Cozy spot with delicious food that makes it worth the visit.
The ramen was really good. Much better than what I can find in Toronto. The service was very welcoming. Plus was quiet and felt great after a long day in SF. If you’re near it. Check it out!
Great dining experience, the service was excellent and the food was really delicious. My parents discovered the Japanese food and everyone was very satisfied. Thanks, see you next time!
One of the most delicious ramens I’ve ever had! I got the Tonkotsu Paitan ramen, and broth was so flavorful. The egg was another highlight of the dish, but the noodles were the star, so soft and tender. The server was very nice and offered us complimentary pistachio almond ice cream, which I thought was such a nice way to end a 10/10 meal.
Had 2 of my dinners here during my stay at the Samesun Hotel a couple of steps away. The food here singlehandedly raised my impression of Japanese food. The seafood yakisoba is the absolute best stir-fried noodles I've ever had - and I've had amazing Asian food before. They are also generous with their portion and protein. The staff is super adorable and respectful. The wait time may be slightly longer than what I'm used to but you know they made their food with care and skills. Highly recommend - you have to try!!!
Food was incredible, serve was so good (service fee built in!!!!) and it’s such a nice place to hang out. Vegan ramen was incredible.
I got the beef yakisoba and my firend got seafood ramen—both were super tasty! The yakisoba had tender beef and great flavor, and the seafood ramen came with fresh shrimp and squid in a rich, comforting broth. Portion sizes were generous, and the service was smooth. Will definitely come back next time I’m craving ramen! Highly recommended.

Delicious yakisoba, the best I’ve found locally since visiting Japan, also amazing ramen and tasty edamame. An unobtrusive spot well worth the visit!
The food was delicious. We went from 5-7pm which is their happy hour, (discounted prices on select dishes). I got the Katsu Don with pork. It was crispy and fresh. They also gave us some pistachio ice cream at the very end. Would highly recommend.
I’ve ordered from **Torraku Ramen** two nights in a row now, and both dinners were fantastic. Last night I tried the happy hour menu, which is an incredible deal. For about $15, I got edamame and a chicken katsu sandwich—enough food for dinner and then a second meal later. The sandwich was perfectly stacked with a crispy, expertly seasoned cutlet. It came with shredded cabbage and sesame dressing packaged separately, which I loved. I tossed them together and even layered the salad on top of the sandwich. The dressing was creamy, rich, and almost decadent—exactly how I like my salads. Tonight I went for the curry ramen with pork belly, and as someone who considers ramen one of my ultimate comfort foods, this bowl blew me away. Instead of a heavy curry paste, the broth was lightly curry‑flavored, balanced with dashi on the side. The portions were incredibly generous—tons of noodles, plenty of pork belly, and more broth than I’ve ever received from a ramen shop (most places are stingy with it). I savored every drop. This was also the first time I’ve had the option to order pork belly instead of chashu, and I couldn’t have been happier. Pork belly is indulgent, fatty, and delicious—perfect for a night when dieting is off the table. Bonus points for the crispy garlic and chili garlic sauce on the side, which elevated the whole experience. Finally, a shout‑out to **Ben**, who took my order. He was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, walking me through the options and ingredients with ease. His customer service made the experience even better. ⭐ **Five stars all the way.** Torraku Ramen has won me over—I’ll definitely be back (probably tomorrow night!).

A small place in the heart of San Francisco with cozy atmosphere, fast service and great food! Recommendations: Vegan/Vegetarian Appetizer: Edamame and soy nuggets Must try! Absolutely delicious nuggets served in a light, delicious broth. Ramen: Miso Vegan Ramen Decent and tasty ramen broth with great seaweed, tofu, tender bamboo shoots and soy protein chashu. For Meat lovers Appetizer: Chicken Karaage Crispy, tasty and wonderful. Must try! Ramen: Paitan Ramen Tasty broth and good Ramen! Dessert Splendid way to end the meal with coffee flavored ice cream!
The chashu was super flavorful because they lightly roast it, which added yummy flavors! They also gave out free ice cream (butter pecan for us). Great ramen!
I won’t say it’s the best ramen I’ve had, but the experience was cool. You pay upfront… tip included. Greeting was awesome. Service was great. Could have used a little more flavor in the broth. Gyoza was delicious. Don’t really know if it’s made there, as advertised. Overall, grab a Sapporo draft, get some gyoza, and enjoy this paint spot. I’ll be back!
Ramen noodles done great!!!! I have tried this place in my trip the food was superb. At the end I got a courtesy ice cream to finish the night out. Mango flavor ice cream so good. The Atmosphere is very simple but great with soft music in the background was easy to listen to it while enjoying the ramen soup. The beer the didn’t have bottle only tap but it was ok. Most places I tried tab beer usually is flat (I am guessing no service to their equipment) it was ok. The only thing I didn’t like it was the SERVICE DINE IN FEE (18%) which it is a force tip embedded in your bill. Also, the fact that you have to pay at front before even trying the food I think is too much. When I asked Benny about the extra charge he said “ we charge the dine-in fee so we don’t ask tips from customers” however, I think I dine out several times and this was a forced tip at front before you even get your food. I didn’t like it. Restaurant that they do this things under different labels I think they shooting themselves in the foot, cause according to the service I can even tip 30%. However it’s just me.

We went to Torraku ramen for dinner on a weekday. The place wasn't busy when we went, and it appeared like there was only one person working at the front desk and taking orders. Once you are seated, you can order as well as pay individually through their online menu. There were 3 of us, so we got a few items to share in addition to our individual ramen. We tried their fried shrimp, pork gyoza, chicken karaage, shoyu ramen, and tonkatsu ramen. The staff recommended the tonkatsu ramen over the curry ramen since it was our first time there. Chicken karaage was pretty good. It came with Japanese mayo. Its citrusy taste went really well with the karaage. Gyoza was decent, too. The ramen were a bit disappointing. The broth was flavorful but very watery. The chashu was very dry.
I found this place lacked the ‘love’ put into dishes that you crave when you visit a restaurant. The appetizers, for instance, could have passed for purchased from the grocery store (pre-packaged). The ramen itself, was good and tasty. I also found it absurd that 15% gratuity was baked into the pricing when you had to order off an app and process your own payment on the app.
I’m not really quite sure how to start off this review because this was the weirdest experience I’ve had in a restaurant in quite a while. We actually waited for this place to open back up at five because they take a two hour break in the middle of the day. We walk in and the kid silently set the table without saying a word to us . We see the menu on the QR code, waiting for him to come back to order and you don’t even order with a server I guess? I’m not quite sure what happened, it was such a quiet and unwelcoming environment. The food was honestly delicious, but it had us thinking at the end. Is this worth coming back to this place for the food and we definitely think no. You have to order from your phone and the restaurant includes the tip in your bill. Which the older man who took our order did not tell us that before we ordered. I’ve had better Ramen, but I’ve never had this bad of service . Not to mention, the bathrooms are a scene . Dark dingy and dirty.
