Food was great. Service was great. Great fruit drink selections.
The food & service was excellent! The 7 courses of beef are the best!!!
Friendly/fast service. Food always please me. Always come back here for the "bo Tai chanh."
The beef 7 ways is to DIE for! Come with an empty stomach! Also try the banh xeo - one of the best meals of my life!!
Been coming here for years, it's a very nice, cozy and unique Vietnamese restaurant. You should always order the 7 courses of meat or the whole fish. Would also recommend the fish and rice porridge. Staff are generally friendly and patient.
This place serves a very unique multiple course Vietnamese beef meal. If you want to try something unlike any other, this is it! I can't wait for my next visit.
Wonderful restaurant. We will be back again. The rice wraps and herbs were great.
The restaurant has really good 7 course beef, 7 course fish and crispy skin grilled fish. Highly recommend their beef congee
Great food and easy to order for takeout. Inside and outdoor dining areas are socially distance.
Pretty good food and atmosphere. Prices arent that bad. Would recommend.
Very good food, fresh ,quick service, nice place for 7 courses beef
All food here tasted very good Best known for 7 course beef Place is clean and food is very consistent good
I love the food and the service. The waiters are very nice and polite.
Anh Hong Restaurant’s fried fish was a standout dish during our visit. The crispy, golden-brown exterior had the perfect crunch, while the inside remained tender and flavorful. The seasoning was well-balanced, enhancing the natural taste of the fish without overpowering it. The accompanying dipping sauces added a nice touch, complementing the dish with a mix of tangy and savory flavors. While the presentation was simple, the quality of the fish made up for it. If you’re looking for a satisfying seafood option, Anh Hong’s fried fish is definitely worth trying!
Reset your expectations about "lunch specials" with Anh Hong. They are dinner-worthy tasty plates here! And this place doesn't charge an arm and leg for the beautiful environment. The first impression I got after chancing into the otherwise nondescript storefront was: What nice decorations! They could update lighting a little, but the paintings on walls are true beauties. Better yet, I didn't get sticker shock when I open the menu. Actually, I was shocked at how low the lunch specials were - they have a full page of them. We had an order of charbroiled minced shrimp on sugarcane and one of shredded pork, crab pate and grilled pork, then we added two grilled quills. (Regular dishes are not exhobinantly expensive like in some highly decorated restaurants, either.) The entire bill is less than one dish at an upscale restaurant. But price can be deceiving. Unlike "lunch specials" in many places, these dishes are expertly prepared and beautifully presented on nice porcelain pieces. The crab pate and shrimp on sugarcane were actually exotic surprises. To our delight, they were also generous in green leaves. Even better, we found a herb in the mix that I only got once in this area in 25 years. It was our favorite hometown treat that I didn't know being used in Vietnamese. (Inspired, we immediately went to Lion City next door and finally found it on the shelf.) Their furniture is simple, but seating is spacious and comfortable. There were plenty of guests but the noise level is low. The next time you go to Anh Hong - we will, don't be afraid to order from the specials section.
Fast friendly service. Great food decent prices. Wifey loves the 7 course beef and I always get the lemon grass rolled in beef topped with green onions and peanuts. These dishes are fire 🔥🔥🔥 Delicious!! Great job Anh Hong and the older man running the floor is a great friendly person very thoughtful and tentative to your needs!!
Love their ban hoi bon la lot and their bo tai chan. I feel Vietnamese beef dishes are underrated in America. A must try experience for food lovers and this place delivers.
They have a great twist on fresh food. Fun time wrapping our own spring rolls. Great healthy options. Finished with fish that was great. Always fun for large groups.
An amazing affordable seven servings of beef. If you've never done it you have to try it. You do have to like eating food with your hands. Since basically you make spring rolls with all the meat. Meat was fresh. Tons of variety. The service was nice and very friendly. It's one of those amazing family run restaurants.

Genuinely good Vietnamese cuisines and a very good service attitude of the staff! Highly recommended to all local gourmets.
This is THE Restaurant that my parents pref to take out of town guest or special occasion celebrations. There are not a lot of places that serve the 7 course beef on the menu. They actually have fish as well if you don't eat beef. The 7 course beef is exactly what it says, 7 ways of cooking beef. It's an interactive dining experience, so make sure you wash your hands before the food comes out. They will have rice wrappers and warm water for soaking and lots of veggies at the table. 1st course is the beef salad, with a light vinaigrette. 2nd course is sliced beef filet cooked in broth. 3rd through 6th is a platter with grilled beef with shallot, grilled beef covered with grape leaf, grilled beef with peanuts and a beef loaf with noodles (eaten with a shrimp chip). How to wrap: 1. Take a rice wrapper, dip it in the warm water, making sure it's all wet. 2. Put it down on your plate. 3. To the lower half of yhe wrapper, add the veggies (lettuce, mint or other leaves, pickled carrots, bean sprouts). 4. Add your beef 5. Gently roll the rice wrapper up and tucking the beef and veggies, without ripping it. Fold the sides in and then finishing rolling it til it looks like an eggroll. 6. Dip in the fish sauce and enjoy! It's a fun meal to teach and enjoy with kids 6yrs and older, and let them wrap their own. After their remodel a few years back, the atmosphere is nice and comfortable. They've added booths and good chairs and tables. I consider it a family restaurant. Kudos for them in keeping the bathroom clean. Hope this helps. Let me know if you try it!
Friday 11/17/23 Dinner at Anh Hong in San Jose with my cousin. Taking a trip to Northern California to explore restaurants and learning how to make Che (Vietnamese deserts) professionally. I was craving for Vietnamese spring rolls with their beef and egg rolls. It’s so delicious and it hits the spot. There are many good dishes on the menu. Leo, service staff, was friendly and attentive. The restaurant has modern decors. I recommend trying this restaurant. David Young Restaurant Enthusiast

Their 7 course meal will fill you up. Get the 5 course and substitute for the lesser items
Last came here over 8 years ago for the 7 courses of fish. Came back for 7 courses of beef and it did not disappoint. They have improved the interior. Portions appear to be larger than the same branch in Milpitas.
Classic fry catfish, a staples in San Jose, this place is pretty consistent in the quality
I went to the restaurant in my second time, foods were good & served was better than my first time visiting.
My favorite restaurant! Special with beef and fish! So yummy! I love it! You need to try it with rice paper.
Besides the seven course beef, the grilled whole fish is pretty awesome! Great food but the place is a little scary. I think Vietnam Town pretty much took all business away from Tully Road.
Went for the catfish, made some delicious rolls. Also don't sleep in the Banh Xeo, very crispy!
Just finished a good lunch here for the first time before heading to the mall for some shopping.
Over many years the traditional food still makes you happy

One rare restaurant that serves The Seven Couses of Beef, a tradition that originated from the old Saigon city of South Vietnam. Our family has been going to this place as long as we moved to San Jose in 1991. The menu later expands to other dishes like The Nine Courses of Fish., selected grilled delicacies, etc. I'd recommend Crispy Fish, a giant deep fried Catfish served with vegetables. Rice noodles, rolled into a burrito and dip in fish sauce. Give it a try! (Place could be extremely NOISY when filled guests.)
Service fast, table clean, charming atmosphere. Foods just all right nothing special.
The food is okay and is a bit sweet for my taste. Service is good. The place is clean and neat.

The ower 's so cheap. If you sdd rice or rice stick more charge you. No places charge like your restaurant.
Food pricy and less. Have to go next door to fill up my tummy
customer service no good
The owner (who took the order) was too rude to us. We asked him if he has Nem Nuong here or not because we ever ordered it at SF location. He yelled back at us very loud that no nem nuong, no pho, no bun rieu. There are many Chinese restaurants around, if we want to have those, go somewhere else. We almost walked out because he can say it nicely. Luckily, his son ( i guess) step in and took order from us instead. The food is good but the services aren’t. If you don’t speak good Vietnamese, I may not recommend you to eat it here.

Very disappointing experience. Saw the highly rated reviews. Reserved six seats for the special occasion. Restaurant is dark and dirty. Even with plenty of empty seating, they still insisted us sitting on a very small table for six. We ordered the famous six courses of beef. Very disappointing. The entire fired fish is very dry. The total is $380 for six people. They added tip 20% automatically even though the service was so bad. I needed to swapped the dirty dishes myself and removed the empty plates to make room. Horrible experience. Will not recommend.
Food was fine but service took forever. My group must have waited 30+ minutes for a waiter to take our orders. Half the water was delivered and we had to ask for the other half. Food took 1hr+ to come out and it came out in batches. Three orders took forever to come out to the point where the other people in my group finished eating already. One of the three orders wasn't made and they had to wait even longer.

This is the worse Vietnamese restaurant in SanJose. The food is very bad and the owner is very rude. Never come back!
They charge you credit card fee when use your debit card. Very greedy business practice. When I paid over 100$ on the meal not including tip, I not willing to pay for your debit card machine too. Disgusting. Greedy. Never again. Food was mediocre.
We had to wait far too long, and the service was terrible.
Food is good. Service is so terrible.
The worst Viet restaurant ever. The food is just so-so. The owner or old server (whatever, old man), is very rude, impolite. Deserve 0 star
Bad service and even worse food. Paid for my meal, left and went to the food court next door.
I had a good expectation on this restaurant as the one on Calaveras was really good. However the experience was very disappointing. The service was slow and unattentive. However the worst part was the grill pan they provided for food. It was so old, unclean and not well oiled, so the food would stick to the bottom, and it spattered oil as it cooks the food to all of us. One of my friends got it over face, so had to ask for ice cubes to calm down. The vegetables weren't fresh, and the rice papers were very old, all stuck together, we could use only a few of those to wrap. It is a shame as I took friends to experience Viet rolls for the first time. This restaurant needs to improve the food quality, the equipment and service. If it's coincidence on Monday lunch time, it needs to improve on the consistency of the restaurant quality.
