Great place for ladies lunch. Had lunch there today and my lunch was great and so much that I had to bring home half of my lunch. Tonight's dinner for me. A win win situation for me. Went to lunch today with my lady friends. We love the lamb burger. The only restaurant that serves lamb burger. We had a marvelous time and the servers are great and very accommodating.

Went to Jacks for a business dinner. The waitress was friendly and funny. The waiters were also very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks tasted great and were presented well. They were all very attentive to our group!

Amazing service, food was delicious. Great addition to the mall! We went on a hot weekday evening and was seated right away. I got the catfish, which was huge! It was very nicely seasoned and had great texture. Also can with delicious mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. My husband got the California Mac and Cheese, it was the best mac and cheese I've ever had! We also got the Mediterranean Sampler, which was yummy (get extra pita bread for it!!) and alcoholic drinks for both of us. Came to just over $100 + tax, which makes sense for five items. Our waitress was very attentive and all the servers were super nice. Definitely recommend!

We came here after having a horrible experience at another restaurant down the street. We walked in and were instantly seated. We quickly got our drinks (water with lemon). A couple of minutes later, we were greeted by our server Maria. We told her we needed a couple of minutes and like clockwork, within a couple of minutes she was back to take our order. After ordering, we got complimentary bread and butter, and about 10-12 minutes after that, we received our food. It was delicious!! After our meal, we ordered dessert. Their pumpkin bread pudding is amazing!! Our server was attentive, courteous, and on top of anything else we needed. And this place was busy!! So kudos to Maria for making a great first impression. My wife asked for the manager to let them know about our previous dining experience at the other establishment and to give Maria praise. My wife and I will be back. Thank you Jack's for saving our date night.

Service and server, Maria, were excellent. Food was perfect. We had breakfast (me) and lunch (granddaughter). Definetly will return. Not too noisy. Music was at pleasant level where you could converse. Will have to try dinner time to see if its any different. It was pretty busy around 12-12:30.

I love the atmosphere! For such a big space, inside and outside, they managed to keep it cozy and warm with the decor and lighting. The food was good and the happy hour was priced well and had lots of options. Probably the best part of our visit hands down was the genuine service we had from Cristina T. She made us feel so welcomed and was so sweet that we want to make sure we sit in her section again when we come back.

We have been looking and waiting for a restaurant like this!! It's right in my neighborhood, and this will be one of our regular dining options. The food was fresh and delicious. There are lots of varieties to choose from on the menu. Warm, cozy ambiance. Good for any age. Friendly, attentive staff. I recommend the calamari, lamb chops, polenta, and tuxedo cake.

We love Jack's. My husband and I traveled to San Mateo to have date nights. I'm so excited that they opened a beautiful one just outside of the West Gate shopping center off Saratoga Ave. Service was fantastic. Everyone was really polite and professional. The fried chicken meal was the best I've eaten and favorite. The caramelized banana split is very unique in itself, our newest favorite dessert.

First time here and it just opened. Bacon Mac with a side Caesar. The salad has fresh croutons. Mac and cheese was really good with enough bacon to taste it. Lots of cheeses. Grilled lamb chop with potatoes and spinach. Really really good. Well cooked and I could taste the marinade. The potato wedges were also very good, crunchy and soft with garlic and feta cheese. The spinach rounded out the plate. Quick and attentive service.

Tried the Greek salad and the crispy buffalo salad, with the some like it hot drink! It was all so delicious and the service was amazing. The servers were so kind and food came out so fast. Will definitely be coming back any chance we get, 100% recommend!

Dropped in for a burger and beer. I like the location and ease of parking, it’s just on the edge of Westgate shopping mall. We were greeted by front desk folks and got a table inside. There is bar and outdoor seating. Service was excellent, there was plenty of staff. The burgers were also very good - meat was good and cooked well. Came with a good sized side of fries. Beers were fine, would be cool if they had more locally sourced brews. Pricing was typical for this type for this type of establishment … around $20-30 per person (one beer and one burger). I would definitely drop by again!

First time visitor to Jack’s on the recommendation of a close family member who has been to this and other locations. Overall, I hope to go back again the next time I visit (a long-time local who moved away but visits often). To think that this was once a Chevy’s, and then something-or-other, is surprising (as I remember when it was a Chevy’s). This is a total overhaul. The design is faux-mid-class, aiming to look like a chain while not being a chain. Think white walls, family portraits, and an exposed ceiling that shows off the pipes in a flat black color. The room has been nicely divided up, so that groups can feel like they are in a crowded space while not feeling crowded. The booths are step-up for some reason. The place had a clean, bustling vibe when we visited on Friday. Sure. It can be a touch loud. But not so loud you can’t hear the other people at your table. The menu leans into the ‘we are old school people who want to give you old school value’, up to and including the ‘charming’ family history and casual ‘wink-wink’ jokes if you read the back. It offers a lot. And, while that can be a warning at other establishments, I don’t think it is here. Sure, some of the ‘old school’ stuff seems a bit forced even if it is true. But they seem to do a pretty good job of turning tables (granted, this was a Friday; also, see below). And, while the list of items on the menu is long, it isn’t so long that a properly run restaurant would start to have to cut corners to make it work. Staff were attentive and greeted us upon entering, as well as saying ‘happy holidays’ as we left. Bussers were quick to clean up plates and refill waters. All of them were friendly and approachable. Our server was as well, with one minor caveat. While she was personable, she also seemed to say ‘yes’ a lot and then forget (to do) certain things. We were missing two table settings. It took two times for her to get us those. She asked for our drink order and then promptly forgot what we ordered. I suspect she was busy and tired. But she always had a smile on her face. Thing is, when a table of six is going to spend north of $300 (excluding tip), you have to try just a bit harder. The drinks? Reasonably priced and poured. The appetizers? They tasted great and were plated as I would expect these days (portion-size is a bit small). Main courses? All were well received by new guests (like me) and returning guests (like my family member). I ordered the lamb burger on a lark. Though it clearly states that it is a mix of lamb and beef, the former’s flavor came through. They asked for the temperature I wanted. I replied, medium-rare. It was medium-rare. And it had a nice mix of spices, was tastefully appointed, and came with a nice serving of fries. My friend’s chicken piccata was also flavorful, with an ample portion of mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The only dessert we ordered was a crème brûlée. For those who liked scorched pudding (I kid, but I also don’t), it went down quite well. I ordered an espresso. It tasted fine, even if it was served in a cup better suited for a double or a lungo. All in all, I was quite happy with the meal. And I think that Jack’s has a place/space to be a newer version of places like OJ’s in the Bay Area at a slightly lower price point and without the necessary history that draws people to those places. I also think that they have processes in place that are a clear ‘tell’ that the place wants to maintain quality services while dealing with what must be narrow margins. Will I go again? I already said I would. In a valley figuratively choking on over-priced restaurants that serve swill to tech bros who love micro greens placed on small portions, this is refreshing. If you want to go to a chain, go local. This place does what it does and does it well. Thanks for a nice meal.

Came in on a Saturday morning around 10am, was greeted and seated promptly. Wasn’t crazy busy, had a cheerful waitress help us who didn’t rush us at all with our order. I had the Hangover (even though I wasn’t) it was on point…bring your appetite very filling. My wife had the Churro waffle and enjoyed her sugar rush for hours;). Our friend had the frittata and loved it! Thanks Jack for a great experience!

Had a really nice breakfast here. Coffee was decent, service was good but not too pushy. We had the corned beef hash and The Moose (scrambled eggs, bacon, tomatoes & hash browns on a biscuit, covered in gravy). The gravy was excellent - flavorful and not overly salty.

My go to breakfast for some restaurants is chicken and waffles. This was my first time eating at Jack's so I thought I try theirs. The plate featured a very tasty half a chicken and waffle. The chicken was moist on the inside and a crispy crust that was like none other. The Belgian waffle was an excellent compliment. Other restaurants usually give you 2 pieces of chicken or chicken strips on a small waffle. I was full enough at Jack's to request a small container to take a chicken breast and 1/4 waffle home. Several days later the leftover snack was just as delicious.

Had an Awesome experience for a quick business lunch when I was in town. I knew about this place from about a year ago attending my sister's Bday celebration. You guys did not disappoint a 2nd time. Will check out your restaurant when I get a chance when I'm in town again! 🤩🤩🤩

The atmosphere has always been lovely since I was coming in today just by myself I kind of felt a little awkward, and I noticed the other servers walking by kinda didn’t pay any attention to me the one little girl that I had. She did pretty well I gave her a very good tip. First, when they brought up my bacon it was too raw and then when they brought it back I could tell it was microwave and two pieces I couldn’t even eat but other than that it was lovely.

Nice laid back spot for brunch (up to 2pm), lunch (up to 4pm) and dinner! Lots of variety in their menu and quite reasonably priced. We took Monterey Omelette and Meatloaf! They have a nice bar, and many fancy cocktails in their menu. It’s in the same parking lot of the Westgate Center. Took us 10 mins to be seated. Good service and will definitely visit again. Highlight - They offered Gluten free toast along with the Omelette!

A very nice restaurant with a nice varied menu. All the food was good. Esteban the server was very amiable and was a fantastic waiter. He was able to accommodate slight changes to the menu, came to the table to ask about refills frequently. Overall a great restaurant in an area that needs more restaurants of this quality.

All around great restaurant! We booked our reservations a month in advance and were so pleasantly surprised by the amazing service and food. I expected to have to wait for our table since it was so busy and we were a bit early but they seated us right away! I can't wait to come back and try some of the other things on the menu.

As always, this place is amazing for its food and wonderful service. I love the fact that management will make rounds to the tables even during a busy evening. This is a place we frequent For dinners, we even come for Saturday or Sunday Lunches. The menu is large enough to choose something new every time. Although we have our favorites like the French dip that is amazing, the Ruben and the lamb burger is my absolute favorite. They have a good selection of cocktails at reasonable prices.

I go to Jack's quite often and I love this place. So many different kinds of food and fantastic staff. It can get busy during the usual dinner times but they handle it well. You can get breakfast, lunch, dinner. Anything from eggs for breakfast to a steak for dinner and everything in between. Only thing I wish they would add to the menu is a turkey lunch/dinner option.

we came in on a week day for Lunch & drinks, three of Us. seated immediately & we love Soccer so that game was put on for Us. The service was excellent & shout out to bartenders the drinks were stellar!! I had a simple Arnold Palmer but my buds had mixed drinks galore. I had a french dip & the Au Ju was delicious & meat was tender. Asked for crisp fries & received them. All food was quick & hot. We stayed thru the game & truly enjoyed our Lunch.

Visiting town and saw this restaurant as I was driving by, so I pulled in and checked out the online menu before going in. For dinner I ordered a Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini, (Delicious) and the Orzo Salmon: grilled salmon, orzo pasta, cherry tomatoes, spinach, fresh dill, lemon, white wine, cream, butter, garlic. The flavors and the textures all blended amazingly well and the portion size was very satisfactory. A light meal with a tangy creamy burst of flavor, I would absolutely recommend this dish. It's New Year's Eve so I also ordered a little midnight snack to go, the Zucchini Cakes, a thick blended zucchini patty with feta, tzatziki, and a cucumber tomato relish. It lost a little crispiness in the breading, but I was expecting that in a to go order. It would be a bit better eating it fresh in the restaurant but was quite delish overall. And of course, dessert. The popular Tuxedo Cake and as you can see from the picture they PACKED it into the to go box lol, a massive slice of creamy, light frosting and moist chocolate cake and I swear it's going to take me three days to eat it lol but definitely a tasty sweet finish for my dessert stomach! Service was amazing, I didn't bring my receipt and I wish I had so I could give a shout out to my server, she was so amazing! Great service, great personality, great suggestions! (So management, if you see this, she was working tonight and I sat at a high top in the bar area 😊) She made sure to check my ID with my drink order and recognized my birthday!

I ask him ..what is this mystic place you hold in such high regard, and he pouts out in a braggadocious voice and attitude...Jack's Restaurant & Bar! Well, I tell him I've never been to Jack's, what's so great about it...Everything he says especially the French Dip! So here I am, and he was right about that French Dip. It was amazing! 5 stars and worthy of my drive from Napa! ☆☆☆☆☆

They have a great happy hour menu, along with their regular menu that is filled with tons of food and drinks options, the bar area is equipped with tvs, and the food and service does not disappoint! At first it was a great breakfast spot but now it's a great anytime spot! Beware breakfast burritos are not available on the weekends but other than that minor detail, you need to know! They also have a lot of gluten free options so everyone can be included in a great meal out! I tried the chicken picata this last time out and it was delish! I really do love Jacks! Nice spacious dining area, indoor and outdoor seating and plentiful parking. Pricing is still a value for this restaurant especially if you have dinner before 6pm, the specials really are special!

New restaurant at Westgate with indoor and outdoor seating. It’s an interesting menu, unexpected in that I thought it was a burger place, but it had a number of full dinner plates available. I had chicken piccata with a side of Angel, hair pasta, and a salad. The chicken piccata was very tasty. The salad was nice. They served a side of sourdough bread that was fresh and had a good sour bite to it. I sat in the bar area high tops, which is open seating. There seems to be a longer line for regular tables indoors and out. They have happy hour specials and also an early bird special, which seemed to be a big hit with the older folks as I saw quite a few coming out as I was on my way in. There’s plenty of parking for the mall. There’s a wheelchair accessible entrance.

Came in for lunch on a Saturday and got seated fairly quickly. Orders were taken not too long after that. Overall the experience and the food were both great. We had 2 kids with us (2 and a 5 year old) and they were pretty happy with the food as well. Pictured are the macaroni and cheese classic, fish and chips, kids chicken tenders and a kids hot dog. Pretty straightforward menu of American food and a good vibe inside. Will definitely be bringing the family back

This is a great place to go with friends and family to grab a burger or some pasta. The restaurant was clean, the wait staff was polite, and the food was good.

Server took a bit too long to come back for our order after telling her we needed a minute to look at our menus. Good was incredible.

The Early Dinner menu portions did not disappoint. One entree is enough for two people or two dinners! The service could be better, we waited for almost half an hour before the waiter came back to inquire about our order and by that time, it’s past their early dinner menu by about 15 minutes. When we ordered, server said it’s past 6 and we said we’ve been here since 5:30pm and could have ordered on time had they come back to check on us earlier. The manager was nice enough to honor the early dinner rate. Would come back again.

The food here was pretty solid. I ordered the double chicken breast, Asian wings, and something from the kids' menu. Everything was tasty and the portions were generous — definitely a plus if you're hungry or sharing. What really took away from the experience, though, was the service. I had to ask three different servers for basic condiments, and they still took a while to show up. It felt like the staff were mainly focused on the larger tables, and smaller parties like ours got overlooked. If you're just looking for a decent meal with big portions, it might be worth a try. But if good service is important to you, this place may leave you disappointed.

First time dining here. I ordered the breakfast burrito. It came hot and was very tasty. Probably the best tasting breakfast burrito I've ever had. But, I found a coarse black hair in it so I had to send it back. I was seriously disappointed. They made a new one promptly and it was equally as good, minus the hair. Burrito was comped, and then 10% take off our bill, which wasn't necessary, but we appreciated it. Id go back.

Update: We ate at Jack's again. The service was only so-so this time. In the distance, we often saw our waitress hanging out near the bar, chatting with another employee while we were left wanting. We enjoyed the fried chicken here in the past, but today, the chicken was mostly breading and not much meat; the chicken breast was especially deficient. From previous visits: Their Pasta entrees, Cheesy Polenta with Veggies, Fish and Chips, Grilled Lemon Chicken Breasts, Blackened Catfish, and Wedge Salad are gòod options. Their bleu cheese dressing and tartar sauce are tasty.

This is my third time here. The food quality has always been very stable and there is no big difference. The environment is comfortable and clean, and the service is very diligent. Jack’s is a nice restaurant. There is a lot of seating and a bar area. The staff were nice and attentive. We ordered the Rigatoni Di Pollo and Spaghetti and Clams with Prawns added to the dish. You can order the spaghetti with a white wine sauce or marinara. The chose the white sauce. It was good.

It had so much in it and was a really unique take. The honey added a lot to the basic entree. - I liked the Jack’s special oatmeal since it tasted super healthy and was easy to digest after running for 2.5 hours - Staff were super nice and food came after 15 min or so - Super beautiful ambiance! Sunday lunch reservation, no additional wait needed. The place seemed fairly full, though the outdoor seating was empty (probably due to chilly weather). Table of 5 at a U-shaped booth. We ordered from the lunch menu: carbonara, 2x lamb & beef burgers, fish & chips, & a Reuben sandwich. Appetizer order of piping hot onion rings with some chipotle mayo. Pretty good, though probably doesn't serve 5 adults. Lamb (with some beef) burgers are delicious and juicy. Fries were warm, on the thinner side so they needed to be eaten immediately before they got cold. Carbonara was quite rich with the cheese. Reuben was a repeat order for someone who has lunch here often. Fish was good, not too much breading. Lemon-y soup was on the thinner side and not well received at our table. Probably would have preferred a chowder. Service was fine for a busy lunch hour, however getting a hot coffee refill was not easy. All the carafes contained lukewarm coffee and we wanted hot coffee. Hot water was easier to get refilled, along with a soda refill (Pepsi brands only?). Good place to meet for a small group, plenty of food choices for everyone.

Quite a large restaurant with a sizable menu. Lots of outdoor seating, great for friends and family gatherings. The various dishes we got were reasonable, liked the seafood pasta, the omelette was so so.

Tried this Jack's for the first time today. We've been to the one in San Mateo. It was fairly crowded, and we sat at the bar. Besides the inside dining area, there's two outside dining areas. Service was pretty good, and what we ate was tasty. We had Bloody Mary's that were very good. Had Pancakes with bananas and The Standard, two eggs any style, pork sausage, fresh fruit, and a biscuit.

Overall 3/5 stars. Tried Lamb burger, Shrimp Scampi pasta, Churro Waffle and Fried Calamari. Best of the three entrees was the Lamb Burger; like having gyro in a bun instead of in a wrap. Skip the churro Waffles. Calamari was on the chewy side. Good garlic fries.

Pretty mid American restaurant. We went because I was craving mac & cheese and they had gluten free noodles for it. I got the chili mac and it was incredibly bland. There was sauce and toppings but it just didn’t taste like much, not even cheese. My partner got the Greek lemon chicken soup which was better but nothing crazy. It was quite affordable on the bright side and service wasn’t bad.

The food has become very bland. The atmosphere with music and the games on were cool. But service was bad. 2 different waitresses interrupted us every couple of minutes. Then after paying our bill a 3rd waitress that didnt serve us accused us of not paying then made us wait for 5 minutes while they tried to figure it out. The waitress tried to say it was a wifi issue that tried to charge us $12 extra. When we pointed out the basic math of what we paid the manager played dumb and said he had no idea why it was charging us the $12 for. The waitress that accused us disappeared and they let us leave but no one offered an apology for their mistake. We definitely wont be back.

We were very disappointed with this visit. We ordered carbonara pasta for a child, fries with a burger, and a cocktail. The pasta was extremely greasy and the child couldn’t eat it at all, the burger was inedible, and even the cocktail was overly sweet. We only managed to eat the fries. When we told the waiter that everything was too greasy, he just said “it’s fine” and didn’t offer any solution. We ended up paying for food we couldn’t eat and left feeling like we wasted our money and time.

This place looks very beautiful, but maybe a revamp on their servers would make this place feel more welcoming. Our server Stefany K did not check up on us WHATSOEVER. Then when I push no tip in front of the her she seems so surprised on why she did not get a tip, maybe putting on a fake smile, actually checking on your tables, and not judging people based on looks, this could have been the easiest tip, she has EVER gotten. Crazy how she can talk to the tables next to us and be so happy, talkative, but yet when it gets to me and my friends, we keep a complete shift of energy. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

My food was impressively bad, look at the pictures for pooling fat and butter in an orzo salmon; it eclipsed everything in the meal so much I had three mouthfuls. Almost inedible. Our server was excellent, and my partner's feed was okay, but I absolutely do not recommend this place.

Food was very good and restaurant was very nice. Our service was terrible, Me and my friends felt like we were being watch the whole time, every-time my server came up to our table she just gave us look and walk away after ordering. Im a easy tipper but the service was not great and i don’t appreciate that.

Very beautiful place and portions were good but service was so unwelcoming. My friends and I felt like we were being stared at, no friendliness at all. When we walked in the hosts stared at us and our server looked annoyed that customers were coming in. As a server myself, it’s not that hard to fake a smile and act like you enjoy your job. Like I said, this place is nice inside and the food is delicious, but it’s extremely frustrating to feel unwelcome the whole time. They went to the table next to us with smiles and were talkative so why weren’t we greeted the same way?

Normally we love Jack's-great food and great service. We come often for lunch and dinner. We did not love it 2/24/2026. We were not going to post this review but then we heard the waitress comment to the other waitress that our tip was low and then they snickered. We came to just get a small snack and drinks so we asked to sit in the bar area. Not busy. No water was given. We ordered the Mediterranean plate (never got it) and no one checked on us after we got our drinks or when we finished our drinks. When we finished our drinks we waited for about 5 minutes still no one came by, so we had to ask for the bill. Why on earth would you expect a good tip for forgetting our food and never checking on us?
