Absolutely wonderful experience. I had the lobster bisque, the bone-in strip, Oscar style with the Merlot sauce I think? And Gouda au gratin potatoes, lobster tails, and a dessert. Man, that steak was cooked to perfection, everything was so delicious, melt in your mouth. The ambiance was really nice, and the service was top-notch. I'll definitely be back!
While in town doing security for the Seattle Seahawks, We stayed at the Marriott during Super Bowl week. Our server Rene was incredible. She told us to come by Morton’s Steakhouse, she would be working there the next day and that we would love it. We headed over to Morton’s for dinner the next night! She was on the money! She had that same bubbly and helpful personality when she brought us our Tomahawk steaks! The food was amazing . She’s a fantastic professional, who truly knows how to take care of her customers!
Love coming to Morton's for happy hour. The drink specials are good and there are a lot of good food options. The staff are super friendly and attentive, and make you feel taken care of without hovering. Parking is non-existent on the street in this area, but there are garages close by.
Visited for a business dinner, table for 3, no wait. Immediately was sat at a table near the middle of the restaurant and there was only one other table with people sat (behind us). Food was great, service was great, drinks were great. After about 15 minutes, the table behind us started becoming annoyingly loud. Not the restaurants fault, however, it would have been nice to he sat at a table away from them since there was literally no one else in the restaurant.
There was a glass shelf above the urinal which was not attacjed. I accidentally bumped it with my arm and it shattered all over the floor. I recommend that if the shelf is replaced, I suggest it be secured or use a wooden shelf as opposed to glass. However, our waitress was excellent!!! Friendly, professional, and addressed all of our questions and concerns.
My husband and I had a date night this past week. I have to say I was thrilled by the end of the night that we chose Morton's. The ambiance there is always set to that low lighting vibe, but our server added a spotlight! She not only recommended some of the best dishes I have ever tasted, the Wagu with lobster tail as an addition. (The crab potatoes are a must try) Everything was cooked to perfection. Her friendliness and personality brought a ray of light and energy. She did all of this while zipping around from here to there with other tables, all the while keeping a smile on her face she's a funny girl You've got a winner! Thanks Renae for making our night a fantastic one! And hats off to the chef!
We had an exceptional dining experience at Morton’s Steakhouse. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, upscale, and inviting—the perfect place to enjoy a great meal before heading to the Sharks game. Our server, Renee, truly made the night memorable. She was attentive, personable, and incredibly professional. Renee struck the perfect balance between being friendly and giving us space to enjoy our evening. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she consistently checked in to make sure everything was perfect without ever interrupting the flow of our conversation. It’s rare to find service that feels so genuine and effortless—she absolutely deserves recognition. Her upbeat energy added a fun and unexpected highlight to the evening, complementing the relaxed elegance of the restaurant. From the quality of the food to the outstanding service, Morton’s delivered a truly stellar experience. I highly recommend this location—especially if you’re lucky enough to have Renee as your server. She elevates the dining experience in every way.
I usually go for Power Hour and find the bar bites and drinks reasonable and delicious! I love the mini shrimp Louis, mini smash burgers, and the onion rings. We also go for special occasions to the dining area and usually they have specials for a meal for two like the tomahawk steak. Super tasty and tender. They make a special occasion extra special with a dessert. The dining area is darker ambiance and quieter. Unless very busy, it could be louder. The bar area is cozy with bar seating and high tables for 2 mostly. A few will seat more. A big outdoor covered area as well. Great for happy hour, after work meet ups, or special occasions.
Visited last month and it's always nice to be able to go into a Morton's when travelling and know you are going to get a good meal and service, and once again they didn't disappoint. I was sitting/eating at the bar, and it was nice but small and nothing fancy. The server whom was initially taking care of me was nice enough but seemed to have some other things going on as well, so maybe not as attentive as he could have been. Luckily, Jose stepped in and he was great - really on top of things and very friendly, even giving some tips and suggestions about going to the soccer the next day. Solid food and drinks as usual as well.
Connected with some work friends on a recent trip back and we grabbed dinner at Mortons. I had been here multiple times when we lived in San Jose. The service was as excellent as I remembered. They take extremely good care of you which makes the dining expereince extra special. We had a variety of appetizers (crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, and two others), all of which were very good. I had a cup of the lobster bisque and the wedge salad to start. The lobster bisque was fantastic. And though I am not a fan of blue cheese, the wedge salad was good also. The start of the show was my 6 oz ribeye that was flavorful and cooked to perfection. They also had an amazing wine selection for us. The NY Cheesecake at the end topped off a great dinner. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend.
We visited after a long time to celebrate the anniversary of our friends and couples. My couple also spent their first anniversary here, but they moved their restaurant location and felt more modern. The tomahawk steak was delicious and the side dish was perfect. We ordered several desserts in addition to the anniversary cake, but the crème fraîche was absolutely fantastic! Thank you for the humorous but meticulousness of the server in charge. We were all able to have a great dinner time. There are many steakhouses, but I strongly recommend you to go there. I forgot the dessert picture and ate it all.
Just got back from Morton’s in San Jose – 184 South Market Street. It was pretty busy when we went, thankfully we snagged a table. The portions are definitely generous, and honestly a bit much for one person! We went for a special occasion, and they really leaned into that with a tomahawk steak, which was amazing – super tender. The service was attentive, our waiter was great. The prices are on the higher side, but it felt worth it. Parking was a bit of a hunt, but they have a nice outdoor area too. I’d maybe suggest asking about the smaller steak options if you’re not huge steak eaters – it felt a little overkill.
We were excited to try Morton’s Bubbles & Bites promo ($29+tax and tip), advertised with a glass of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, but the experience was very disappointing. The bartender was rude and dismissive from the moment we sat down. We were served Cava instead of Veuve without being told until we asked, this should have been communicated upfront. Our food arrived about 25-30 minutes later, cold, with no placemats, silverware, or offer of water or condiments. The overall vibe was negative and uncomfortable. Disappointing experience and not worth returning, especially given how excited we were to support downtown San Jose dining.
The Service & Wine Discrepancy: Unfortunately, the service did not match the price point. We encountered several issues: Wine Misrepresentation: We ordered a bottle of Educated Guess 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was explicitly advertised on the menu as being from Napa Valley. However, the bottle brought to the table was actually the "eg" California version. For a high-end steakhouse, failing to distinguish between a premium Napa-sourced wine and a more generic California-sourced tier is a significant oversight. Dropped Drinks: Our initial round of drinks took a long time to arrive; we eventually learned they had been dropped while being delivered to the table. While accidents happen, we weren't notified of the delay until much later. Missing Sides: We had to flag down our server to ask about a missing side dish that failed to arrive with our entrees.
We were able to make a last minute reservation on a Friday, which was great. Our server was good. We had the seared tuna appetizer, a Cajun spiced ribeye, pork chop and parmesan truffle fries and bread. The tuna and bread were delicious. The meats and fries were good. There were three things that surprised me: 1. No valet parking 2. No validating for the nearby parking garages 3. There was an upcharge for horseradish cream. Seemed quite tacky.
I came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and it was an interesting experience. first of all, the atmosphere is great and it’s a perfect intimate space to celebrate special occasions. however, the food and service are pretty questionable. the food isn’t bad, but for the price range it is, it should probably be better. we ordered a lot of appetizers and most of them were a hit or miss. for example, the wagyu potstickers tasted like average potstickers that you can get in the frozen aisle of an asian market. not bad, but not great either. my 140 wagyu steak was delicious though. not sure if i’d pay 140 for the portion size, but it tasted good. the server was kinda rude to my friend and the other guests but she switched up her attitude halfway. probably wouldn’t come here again
We ordered the Oyster Dynamite for appetizer, 16 oz Proprietary Prime Cajun Ribeye with Béarnaise Sauce and 16 oz Ribeye (Medium Rare) with Whipped Horseradish Cream for our mains, Sauteed Spinach and Button Mushrooms for our side, and a Crème Burlee for dessert. The waiter started us off with complementary Onion Bread and Salted Butter (4 out of 5) as we waited for our food. The bread was warm, soft, and fluffy with a mild onion flavor. I spread the butter immediately so that it could melt on the bread, simple yet soo delicious. The Oyster Dynamite (2 out of 5) which comes with 4 oysters topped with melted cheese and a generous amount of crab lumps. The aroma was amazing. But, the taste was a bit disappointing, it was extremely salty. It over powered the dish, I could not taste the miso or siracha notes. The oysters could have been cleaned a little bit better, 3 of the 4 had a gritty texture, still some sand or sediments in them. The oyster itself was very tender, was delicious. I paired the oyster with the bread to cut out the saltiness which kind of worked. 16 oz Proprietary Prime Cajun Ribeye (4 out of 5) was perfectly cooked to medium rare. The meat was juicy and tender. The hint of spices really elevated the steak. There were a few spots that tasted burnt, but I highly recommended ordering this over the normal Ribeye. I ordered an enhancement for extra $, Bearnaise Sauce (1.5 out of 5). I was a bit disappointed in the flavor, it was overly acidic, tasted more sour than the rich, buttery balance that you normally expect. And for some reason I kept tasting a noticeable coconut flavor, maybe from coconut oil? It was unexpected as Bearnaise is my go to sauce. My partner ordered the 16 oz Ribeye (3/5) with the Whipped Horseradish Cream (2/5)enhancement. The steak was very tender and juicy, simply seasoned with salt. Unfortunately, the cut of the ribeye was missing the cap on this one. It would have been nice to have both the cap and the eye. The Whipped Horseradish needed more horseradish, it just tasted like cream with some seasoning. The Spinach and Button Mushrooms (3.5 out of 5). It was good, the sauce was savory and light. The mushrooms had a slight bitterness to them, wondering if the spinach bitterness leeched onto the mushroom. The Crème Brulee (3.5 out of 5), perfect sweetness for me (not too sweet). The texture was a bit too dense for me. I am use the lighter silkier custard that you normally get. But overall great.
I'm quite disappointed with my first impressions of this place. I had a reservation for my birthday at 5:45 pm. I get to the establishment about 20 minutes before my reservation. The host said that although I have a reservation, I would have to wait one hour to be seated. He also gave me an option to sit in the patio area and stated that at least it would be a more private dinner since no one was there. I was really confused on why I made a reservation on open table and not get the seating that I reserved nor around the time frame I reserved. It was really just the principal of it all that bothered me. The host then proceeded to tell me that the reason why I would have to wait is because the other people who had reservations came in late and a bunch of other excuses. When I asked to speak to the manager about this issue, all of a sudden, a booth would be ready in ten minutes. And after he told me that news he proceeded to ask me, did I still want to speak to the manager or if it was still necessary. I have yet to have an experience where I made a reservation and was told I would have to wait an hour to be seated. This is very strange and honestly, this is the reason why I would not come back to this place. The food was good though. For an appetitzer, we got the bacon steak. It was very flavorful. 5/5 Entree was 32 oz tomahawk steak cooked medium rare. It was cooked to perfection & seasoned just right. 5/5 Brussel sprouts are disappointing. It was hard and lacked flavor. 0/5 Au gratin potatoes was amazing. 5/5 Bread pudding was also 👌 5/5. We had to ask the server if they offered dessert for birthdays & I was able to choose something off of the dessert menu. Kinda sucked that we had to ask and it wasn't offered because it in the reservation notes. TLRD: reservations must be a joke, food was good, brussel sprouts sucked. 3/5 would not go out of my way to dine here again.
We love Morton’s and have been to many but this experience at San Jose was not what we expected! We were there for Super Bowl and booked a special group dinner the night before. The always delish dirty martinis were warm and they used melon vodka by mistake. They were not good possible to sip and then the remade drinks came and were warm and not good. They brought apps after our meals and the whole experience was not what we have had at other Morton’s.
Overall a good experience but started off very rocky. We arrived 10 minutes early for our 6pm reservation for my birthday but had to wait almost 30 minutes to be seated in the “private dining area” (which was really overflow for the bar area). Several times the manager (or matrie ‘d) Jess would come around and specifically not make eye contact with us or communicate in any way. The host did tell us that the reason we weren't seated right away was because a theater show ended early and people came from that. When we did sit down in the “private area”. Another party sitting there was loudly watching a sports game on their phone. Regardless, Jess came by and offered to comp their dessert since it was their anniversary. Jess came by multiple times to talk to them about wine and different subjects. Eventually, other guests came in, some sitting right next to us. Again, Jess was right there, offering his services and providing his ideas for wine and the such. Never did Jess apologize to us or offer any condolences for our inconvenience. I’ve been to Morton’s several times. Here in San Jose and in Miami, by far the worst experience I have had. Siddharth on the other hand was incredible. Friendly, quick, and overall pleasant. And absolute joy. I don’t think I will ever return, purely based on Jess.
The three of us looked forward to the experience but we’re definitely disappointed. I ordered the rack of lamb medium, pink in the center with Brussel sprouts, My sister ordered the Filet mignon with lobster my other sister, ordered the salmon and mashed potatoes. My Brussel sprouts were excellent but the lamb was over cooked… burned to be exact! The lamb chops were very small and were not of a great quality. The salmon mashed potatoes were excellent. The lobster and filet mignon was perfect. Overall the experience was amazing..
Since my parents’ anniversary coincided with the last day of my mom’s 3 week visit from abroad, we had planned to celebrate with a special steak dinner before she returned home. However, we were appalled by not only the quality of food served to us, but the experience as well at what we had assumed was an esteemed institution. Upon ordering drinks to accompany our steak, my dad requested a recommendation of the house red. Our server, Rogelio, recommended the ones in the $80-$90 range. However, when my dad reiterated his request, Rogelio made an extremely inappropriate remark about how he “was unaware of my dad’s preference for only the $50 bottles”, which immediately left a very sour taste in our mouths. To make matters worse, the creamed corn we ordered was simultaneously gritty AND watery, the steak was burned and overcooked, and the crab cakes were simply pitiful. I myself am finding it hard to believe that the French fries were the only redeeming aspect of our meal, which serves as a significant indicator of the overall dining experience we endured at Morton’s today.
To begin with, I am a big fan of Morton's in Asia. Singapore and Hong Kong. The quality food and the best quality service. I expected the best of the breed quality as usual with Morton's San Jose, but it was quite a disappointed experience. - Bread came out when I asked after a starter dish. No excuses before asking - I used steak knife for the salad. I asked normal salad knife but they brought another steak knife - Asked the steak medium-rare, I came out in the middle of medium and medium well-done. The stake was dried up. - No pepper service asked with steak. - After opening and the first serving the wine, nobody served again. I opened 180$ bottle, fyi. - They brought the bill before we finish, without any explanation. My first experience at fine-dining place. Morton's San Jose reminded me the goodness of Morton's SG and HK.
