Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria

Audrey was very friendly and efficient as both a hostess and server. I ordered olive oil and vinegar with sourdough bread along with the Michi combo pizza. Both were very delicious and the bread was hot and fresh made... So be careful you might burn your fingers with that lol... The pizza was very flavorful and of course old world brick oven cooked... I was very excited about that fact... And the price was reasonable especially for the high quality food that you get. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone who gets the chance.

If you New York style pizzas (very thin crust), this is the place. They are on the pricier side but it is well worth the extra bucks. The pastas, salads and desserts are good but nothing special. This location is in downtown San Mateo which means street parking can be difficult. My suggestion is to park in the public parking garages. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. Definitely go for the pizzas.

The pizza came out with sweet aroma that instantly woke up your appetites. They’re very tasty and flavorful. At the end of the meal, we were given some mint candies 🍬 it was very kind of them!

The bottom wasn’t burnt but there were burnt crumbs, so it seems like maybe they could clean their ovens more frequently. As someone who grew up on the east coast, I approve this place.

Hopefully it's attached if not I just wanted to pray San Mateo staff no matter what night I go in I usually get it to go they are professional they're smiling polite great people. Represent your company well and you should give them all raises for early retirement. Just kidding haha. But on a serious note they are wonderful and I'm not just saying that I love your food and I'm a big KNBR listener too. Thank you Amici's. OneNote you should sell your Caesar dressing at a retail level. The best Caesar dressing I've ever had hands down. It's so good I love it.

Katherine found a table in their pseudo patio area where there was no one else and took great care of us. He was unhappy with her, but we really appreciated it. It was one of the hottest days of the year and we couldn't leave the dog in the car. The therapy dog also works for a local entity and she had her vest on. Hope she didn't get into too much trouble. She also provided excellent service.

There are a handful of pizza spots around downtown San Mateo. I like supporting local businesses and trying out new places. I’ve pretty much tried every pizza shops in downtown SM. I wanted to like this place since I like crispy thin crust pizzas. I also like their tasty pizza options. However, what I got was just a mediocre pizza.

We have only ever had pizza delivered from Amici's which is relatively efficient and has yet to arrive cold. The website works and there are many options including some slightly unusual ones like pine nuts but no ham?? The price is a bit high for pizza when everyone in the family gets something different.

Pizza was great. The beer selection was really bad. Try the roasted Broccoli side dish with garlic and lemon. It's spicy so remember to have them skip the hot pepper flakes if that's not your thing.

Good wood-fired pizzas and lemon wings -- they definitely taste better dining in than to-go as the crust gets soggy. The pastas are a miss and lacking flavor and seasoning. I'd stick to pizzas here, and they have some tasty sounding combinations such as white clam, spicy pepper chicken, pesto, and classics like margherita.

pizza needed 1 more minute in the oven. I did change my review. I attempted to reheat the leftovers. The crust turned to greasy mush and had to be thrown in the trash. 1st time in over 50 years that happened to me. This would not fly on the East Coast.

Music is so upbeat can't go wrong with oldies! Love the inside front sectioned off seating by the open windows. The gorgeous and gracious manager made up for the waiters faux pau of forgetting me. Food was off tonight compared to other locations, Bbq chicken pizza sauce was a bit too sweet and dough was not flat but not fresh and springy as usual. Cheese lasagna was bland. Caesar salad dressing was not good as it was just 7 months ago. Forgot to try the wings. Understandably restaurants are changing food wholesalers so the quality and taste may diminish. Probably will not return to this location unless there are changes..

UPDATE: manager reached out to apologize/try to resolve issue. Haven't gone back yet... Every Flipping Time. So there is one pizza that my mom really likes at this place. That's why we go. Everytime she orders it, we specify no parsley. Everytime it still comes with parsley. It doesn't matter what proactive steps are taken. This time there was even a note on the receipt to have it inspected by a manager. Either they didn't check or didn't care. #fail. Thankfully it's just a flavor thing and not a food allergy issue... Photographic evidence included.

Ordered a family-sized chicken Caesar salad at $25 + tax only to discover it was the size of a regular clear plastic to-go container. In addition, they left out the chicken and I had to return to the busy downtown location on Father's day evening to have them correct the order. 15 minutes for them to add the missing chicken with no apology.

Had a large Amicis combo and a Hawaiian delivered to work and it was embarrassing. I remember when Amici's first opened, their pizzas were loaded with toppings and it was amazing, but the pizza today had barely any, and I mean 2 pieces of pepperoni and one piece of something else. Anyhow, everybody wants Round Table Pizza instead.

Want to give this place the benefit of the doubt maybe they were having a bad day. The food was under seasoned , half our tables order wasn't put in , and we had to asked multiple time what was taking so long after 45 minutes the server told us they had forgot to put in the order. Server was rather rude and messed up 5 out of 6 orders. Again maybe they were having a off day but the food wasn't great and the poor service is what got them a 2 star review.

Ordered a mushroom pizza for my mom for delivery, and it came with very few and small amounts of mushrooms. It’s the ONLY TOPPING, so why be cheap? I called to alert them and they gave me whole $3 credit.....on a $25.00 pizza, plus tax and delivery...$35. Not worth it. Won’t be ordering from them again.

Plain and simple, you don't put chunks of raw tomatoes on a margaritas pizza. It ruins the pizza. Fortunately, my family is not Italian and does not have my standards.

Pizza delivered. Worse pizza I’ve ever had. Combination super thin, which I don’t mind but it looked like a fake pizza that you leave in your display for days. Cold and like cardboard. It had some kind of meat sliced that was a weird brown color. Will never go here again. Possibly my mistake was delivery. In person might be different? $97 for two pizzas plus $20 Tip- ouch and not good

Over rated! I wanted to come here for months, finally made it and I am not a believer nor impressed. Only bbq or lemon chicken wings, ok, I love chicken wings and order spicy lemon. First set comes out under cooked, second set is decent but was not spicy at all and lacked flavor. Salad and soup were good. Bread was cold and pizza, meh mod pizza does it better! Not to mention the price tags, most expensive pizza joint I've ever seen in my life.

If you have any food allergies DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!! I ordered last night for delivery and made sure to double check that there was no tomato on my salad the person taking the order said "no we don't put tomato on our ceaser salad." OK perfect just making sure because I'm very allergic to tomatoes. I get my order and decided to wait till my kids got home from their night out so we could eat together. As I'm fixing my salad there's a half cut cherry tomato so I put that portion aside and grabbed from the opposite side of the container. Not thinking that there was a whole lot of cross contamination. I probably should have just opted out of having salad but I that's all I really wanted so I take 2 bites and my throat starts to close, luckily my daughter knows how to administer my epi pen she quickly then called 9-1-1 so I could get to the hospital asap. I get home and call the restaurant and they basically called me a liar and do I won't be going back here because of their lack of compassion and attention to detail. So upset with this outcome. I suggest you al ne very aware of the way this company does business.

This place just continues to disappoint. Called them to inquire why my order hasn't arrived after almost an hour and the response was that it will be another 30 minutes and 1.5 hours is "Very Normal". No apologies offered. And the 20% tip is charged upfront for terrible service! Very disappointed, Pizza showed up almost two hours after was ordered and was cold and burnt. I called the store to complain and was told they’ll give us a $20 store credit on $100 order. Totally unacceptable from start to finish. Done with Amicis San Mateo.
