The best coffee of the town and very friendly and helpfull stuff. They helped me a lot about San Francisco. Thank you!
It's Peet's, what can I say? Definitely not you-know-who, not Philz, great espresso drinks, great drip coffee, great cold brew. Can't go wrong. I have like 6 Starbucks cards languishing in my cars' console.
The best service ever. I work nearby and have to stop off for my coffee be it morning or afternoon. The staff are always friendly and know their regulars by name.
Love Major Dickinsons blend. Latte was too sweet for me but straight black is super smooth. Nice venue. Outdoor seating. Wifi.
This Peet's became much cleaner n nicer than before. I like current friendly staff 😊
The best setup of a Peet’s store. Good location for study. Just parking can be tough or $.
The condiments counter needed some attention. And their recycling containers were a little too full . Other than that everything was good.
Friendly service. Darker, richer than most competitors. Wide variety of snacks, including gluten free snacks, to enjoy with your coffee
great place for group meet ups, featuring all standard peets coffee menu items. is a nice place to work and has free wifi as well.
I enjoy the atmosphere of Pete's, especially after a nice meal in downtown San Mateo. Plus it stays open later than Philz.
Great customer service and friendly staff, clean bathroom. Oh, and superb coffee.
Always clean, always staffed with great help... Almost don't want to give this place five stars, so that I can keep it to myself. 😉
Ah… my nostalgic spot when I came back to visit. I use to love Peet’s so much that in 2007 I worked as a shift leader for 3 months before my restaurant open. Always go for their classic Major D blend. This location hasn’t change much since 10 years ago.
Mobile order iced blush matcha Whole milk, Carmel drizzle.. yummy and satisfied my craving.. made quickly and staff was Awesome...
Their hot chocolate is the best ☕ Perfect coffee, everytime

Went here last night with my friends after having dinner. Conveniently located in the middle of downtown San Mateo, making it easy for passerby to just stop and grab a cup of coffee. The inside is pretty spacious with plenty of seating. The workers are friendly and quick in preparing our order. Overall I'm happy with my experience.
They have a great location and have had good customer service the times I've been there. Recently, I went in and had my 2 year old with me. They asked me if I wanted my hot chocolate cooler so she wouldn't burn her tongue, and it was the perfect temp for her when we got it. I really appreciated that.
Yup, good. Surprised? No. The only issue I have is that the espresso machine has been replaced with an automatic push button machine & it takes almost as long for your coffee drinks as when I worked there years ago & used the manual machine that you had to train on down in Palo Alto. But.... Good.
Good food friendly staff and welcoming environment, anyone can study, for long hours,non-stop 🤗 Had everything vegan burger with hot warm mint tea Then some cinnamon rolls, for dessert but the burrito was tasty I couldn't forget the pinto beans protein mixed with all the veggies
Peet's is the best, and everyone who works here is a joy. Highly recommend
"I came in this morning for a latte. The coffee was delicious and the service was very kind. A perfect start to the day!"
Great Peet's. Both inside and outside seating. Friendly, helpful service. In Downtown San Mateo - kitty corner with B Street Books - great little book shop. Pick up a book at B Street and then relax with a coffee or tea at Peet's! Double door entrance - I don't know if there is a button available to push if you use mobility aid and need help with door.
Good coffee, wifi and space to sit. Tried the oat cold brew. Sugary but nice.

I like this Peet's. Sometimes it can take longer than desired but they are friendly. There is a large seating area. You don't feel crowded as you might in other coffee shops. They package beans in front of you too.
This is one of my favorite peet's. Been here for years and have always had good customer service. Finding a seat in the winter months is tough. A lot of people waiting for their movie at the nearby theater using this peet's is a problem. Some of them aren't even customers. Just taking up seats. Or worse as I show in one photo. The guy just grabs a cup of water, sits himself down with his MacBook and use the web. Second one I see in just 10 minutes.
They’ve included this blower mechanism above the entrance/exit, does anyone know why? Hey were all for keeping fly’s out. But imagine dressing up your just purchased hot bev., and all of a sudden, it's power blown. Not hot anymore. Besides that, they get 5 stars easy. GO DODGERS!
Pretty great Peet's! Lots of seats, great drinks, very nice staff, and good location!

If you're familiar with Peet's than this should be no surprise. The service is fairly good but not spectacular. The coffee is better than Starbucks but maybe not as crafty as something from Philz. This shop itself is a very good size and good for groups to meet.
Peet's is a nice little place to duck into and have a nice warm cup of coffee or specialty drink. I like the window seating bar tops, you can sit there and enjoy your drink and watch all the different people walking up and down the street. The one thing that I do not like is that the only garbage can in the whole place is at the back of the store affixed to the area where you put your cream and sugar in your coffee. A can next to the door would be nice so you don't have to stand in line in the morning just to throw your cup away. Other than that it's a great place ! ! !

I'm a more then regular there....feel comfort and chill. Especially when that cute manager Dina is there. What a smile. And those eyes just melt my heart away. I love the place
As far as Peet's go, this one seemed a bit on the grungy side - little things like crumbs, spills, etc. abounded. Located on the corner, it seems like this would be a popular destination. I just found it super echo-y. I heard every bit of the conversation of the young couple behind us. Like how he used to live in the Marina district in San Francisco and his friend had an apartment that you had to walk through someone's bedroom to get to the kitchen, etc. etc. It sounded like this young guy and this girl were friends but were trying to take their relationship further. I tried so hard not to listen, but it sounded like the guy was shouting in my ear. Maybe Peet's should put up some wall hangings or something. I come here for the coffee, not the banal conversations.
Nice atmosphere. Cafe au Lait was too hot and had burnt taste. Chocolate croissant was tasty but a bit soggy.
Typical Peet's (which to me means "good, for a coffee chain"). I mainly go to local coffee shops, but I often head to Peet's to purchase/grind beans.
I love Peet's, but the lines here are generally long and service is not fast. Coffee is not my favorite slow food.
Only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of one, was that there one who help me was courteous, unlike the lady who made my order
Entered Peeps Aug 3rd, no greeting. 2 male employees conversing. My husband needed to use restroom and they told him no, because they were about to do a "Deep Cleaning" He had to run down the street to the movies, where we had tickets for a showing. On top of that, they git my drink wrong. Bad customer service!!
Peetes “No light roast” Me “ok I’ll take dark” Peetes “We need to brew a new batch will be 5 mins” Me “Why not brew light then” Peetes “We don’t brew light after 3pm” Me “Even by request?” 5 mins.... Peetes “large med roast ready” Fail
Staffs here are not friendly, ordered my drink from a guy at counter called Justin, I didn’t want the plastic cover for my hot tea, he stared straight to my eyes talked loudly “I don’t want you to burn yourself!” I told him that I’m environmentally concious. Another staff that I asked for toilet password wasn’t that friendly too.

My biggest complaint is the fact that they wouldn’t let me use their restroom after buying a drink. I had to go to the restaurant next door and they were kind enough to let me use their’s even though I didn’t buy anything from them. A bit of a head scratcher. Additionally, the staff was generally unfriendly. I won’t be coming back here.
Always bad experience ay this Peet's. Today I was explained how they cannot merge my two Peet's card because people steal them. What?? Steal them. I buy mine at Costco, I have receipts and you are still guilty from the get go at this coffee place. Horrible.
🤢
Always had some problem with the service from this location when I was purchasing for a business I was managing. Often if I asked for a receipt from this location I was told they could not give me one. The lattes were often under filled and has a burned taste to them. I would avoid this Peet's location.
They should pay more attention to keep the place clean. Restroom was terrible. I do not want to buy a coffee where the bathroom is not tidy no matter what. I love their coffee, but I will not come back this place.
I’ve been a loyal customer at Peet’s Coffee since 2015, always receiving excellent service from the staff. However, my recent experience was incredibly disappointing. The cashier completely disregarded my order and even laughed at me when I asked about my coffee. A more professional employee, a white woman with glasses, eventually issued a refund. Despite this, the overly enthusiastic cashier continued to mock me for requesting a refund. To anyone reading this review, I strongly advise you to take your business elsewhere. A better example is Starbucks Coffee, which consistently prioritizes customer satisfaction. If the cashier who was unprofessional is still employed, I hope they find a new job, as it seems they genuinely dislike working at Peet’s. By the way, I spoke with a manager at Starbucks, and they have explicitly stated that they do not want this particular cashier/barista to work or be near their stores.

You’ve got 4 workers and all of em talking with each other.. its ridiculous having to wait over 25 mins for a drink
Morning crew are great people. There's a guy who makes the other coffee's should learn manners by not smirking all the time when I come in. Wanted to report him to his supervisor. Refused to give me his name. These are all swing shift people. Never go to that dump again. Go to Philz from now on. People are more polite and respectful.
This is the first time in years that I have been treated with disregard and disrespect, especially from shift leader named "Sala" , they dint have the new grilled cheese that I wanted so I ordered the turkey ciabatta which came our over cooked and got cold due to the other cashier who didn't alert me that my sandwich was ready, I asked for a refund and "Sala" told me to leave. I have been a regular there for 2 years and everything these young girls come in to work there, they think they own the place and their customer service skills are absolutely terrible
The cashier was great that rang me up and got my order right . I tipped him. The barista male was very unprofessional. He doesn’t look like he enjoys his job and does a rush job. He made my drinks wrong and left out the sugar tree vanilla and it was an easy fix but I heard him say I thought you pumped the sugar free vanilla into the cup to the gentleman who took my order and I thought to myself but it’s still the baristas responsibility to know all ingredients are for sure put into the drinks not assume it is once it’s in his hands to make the drink. I felt that’s not the way you handle addressing an issue by passing the blame back to the other employee and especially where I can hear it at a customer . It makes it weird and uncomfortable for the customer. Also if I felt he did a good job to where I tipped him because his attention to getting my order right speaking of the man who took my order . Also the barista seemed more into talking to the young lady that was there and that’s probably why he made my drinks wrong and forgot specific ingredients. Also Don’t embarrass your associates like that . That was something he could have told the employee out of the customer’s presence because I felt I had to make the air lighter for the employee and so shouldn’t have to feel like that and I don’t want weird experiences starting my day when I’m just trying to get coffee to start my day. I’m just saying it’s unprofessional. I am a business woman and my attention to details in customer service is close .
