Excellent brown sugar latte boba (tip: get it with grass jelly). You can ask for it to be less sweet, which few places offer. It’s my favorite one in the area. Downside: their popcorn chicken is only okay. Not as crunchy as it should be, and the textures are too soft and mushy. However, they get 5 stars for their boba quality and service.

Great dessert place. Not much seating and parking can be tough. But we all find something we like. My favorite is the snowflake cup with strawberries and boba. It is not super sweet. Came here at 830 on a Saturday night and didn’t have to wait.

I got the passion fruit tea with chia seeds and boba, and it was great! My kids got snowflake cups with fruit, and they were excellent as well. Can't wait to come back to try the brown sugar boba latte and the fried mochi balls! Here both are super popular!!!

The drink is kinda sweet but they made it so fast even though they are always busy! We order mango smoothie and we love the mango bits! Good size for a good price!

I ordered the Snowflake with boba, vanilla ice cream and strawberry. And let me just be brief this was perfect. I love shaved ice with condensed milk and the topping on top! It just screams deliciousness! And it’s a reasonable price under 10$. Don’t forget to mix if you like your boba to soak up the flavor.

Fresh mango, strawberry and other real fruit in their desserts They make their own herbal grass jelly! It's so much better than what comes out of a can. Great dessert shop. They have handmade momo (mochi), hot black sesame, and red bean soup. The fried mochi balls are so good and waffles too

Favorite boba shop in the Bay Area! Love the lychee royal and that they use organic teas

Mango sago ia good but not the best, it's missing coconut milk, different from what i had in Thailand.

I had this place saved in my collections and finally got to try it out. It is really bright and pretty big inside. They have a cute wall with fake grass too to take pictures with. The place is big, but most of it is taken up by the register/kitchen. The fruit is displayed next to the register and they also cut it in front of you. The fruit looked really fresh!! We ordered the snowflake cup with mixed fruit. It came out in like 5 minutes, so they were really fast! So much faster than Meet Fresh. I really liked that the fruit was fresh. The dessert looked a little small, but was actually was perfect to split between 2 people. The shaved ice was perfectly sweet too. I would definitely come back again and try their other desserts. They have a lot of more traditional asian desserts, like sesame and mochi, that I would want to try also. The waffle and egg puffs also looked good!

Great little dessert shop with a good mix and variety of desserts. We’ve gotten both the custom hand made ice cream bowls as well as the snowflake with ice cream. We’ve gotten both highly recommend the snowflake bowl with mango ice cream and fruit. We added grass jelly as well. Orders and payment are through three machines by the front door. Pretty easy though the choices are a bit overwhelming!! Highly recommended.

Bit pricey but excellent desserts. Had the vanilla based shaved ice topped with chocolate ice cream, red beans ,and uniquely , fresh aloe. Very very yummy. 5 stars and totally worth the trip. Will revisit and try the other snacks too👍

I chose a watermelon slushie with half the sugar, and it tasted great; it was cool and refreshing.

Came for their handmade desserts because of a recommendation. It was so late so we e order 1 dish and shared. Their black rice and fruits with ice cream is very good. It surprised our expectations. The shop is small, so not much seating inside. Most of the time people just order takeout. There are 2 self-oder kiosks outside and 1 inside. Nice store with good desserts. Will come back again!

Wow what a surprise to find this new dessert place on 3rd Avenue in San Mateo and it's right next to Baskin Robbins! Tried the snowflake cup with Mango cream and the Supreme Fresh fruit Tea. Both were totally delish and the service was very good. Try it out!

Refreshing, fully customizable (ice and sweetness level, and boba or so many other add-on options) bubble teas, milk teas, smoothies, etc. Tasty snacks. Easy to order from the kiosk out front, with a realistic time estimate and text notification so you can walk around while waiting to pick up your order. The freshly made egg puffs and fried mochi were yummy and not too sweet. All of our teas were just as expected.

The mochi waffle is !!!! Crispy outside and chewy inside what is this magic It's great with the milky shaved ice. Best taro ball ever. You can taste the taro! add 13 taro ball topping for $1.25

Great place in downtown San Mateo with a lot of options for both desserts and drinks, we ordered French creme brulee and an icecream with mango, momoka rolls and strawberry. It tasted pretty amazing. It’s a great alternative to the usual icecream fare(Baskin Robbins is right next to it). The people serving were very polite and the place was clean and well-maintained as well. I’ll definitely visit again soon. Thank you!

How is this only $6.75? We ordered the creamy ice with taro and mango with additional Momoko balls and it was tremendous and super delicious. As you can see the portions are incredibly large can't wait to come back! Definitely should share with at least two if not three people.

Sweet moment is some of the best desert I've had. First of all, I LOVE their snowflake series and egg puff. Everything there is so amazing, and everything comes so quickly. Like the name says, it's sweet, and wonderful. The drinks are also so good, and I love the handmade momoko ball and grass jelly toppings. Something else so good about it is that there are so many other good places around it, which means you can get a good lunch and then come right to it. There is also a movie theatre, (Cinemark), quite close to it. It is a little far from my house, but it's definitely worth coming. It fills me up all the time, and is totally my type of desert. At the time of this review there is a little leak in the roof, but that's fine and they've got that under control. There is no doubt that this is one of my favorite places, and it deserves more than five stars.

DTSM's newest Asian dessert spot -- at least until Meet Fresh opens down the street. Yummy selection of shaved snow (called creamy snowflake), boba, mochi, + other specialty desserts. We ordered a Mango Momoko with Mango ice cream ($6.45) + a custom Creamy Snowflake with Strawberry, Sago + Matcha ice cream ($8.25). Both were great! Definitely on the sweeter side but refreshing for a sunny summer day. The line was literally 30 mins of waiting just to order with only like 8 people ahead of us. Our orders came quickly soon after though. Once they can speed up the ordering process there, I can imagine they'll be quite popular once more people discover them. I'll likely be back.

H

A new Asian dessert spot. Got the Mango peach tea and mango sago smoothie. The quality of mango that they use are actually pretty good but don’t know why there’s still an artificial taste for the smoothie and tea. Will try other desserts for next time.

A nice place to stop by for a snack after walking through the Japanese Garden. We got a snowflake cup with mango. Refreshing and not too sweet. And they had a few tables outside so we could enjoy the weather and our snack before moving on to our next destination.

L
Liz Donut

I liked the Fried Mochi Balls. I wish there was a option to ask for less powered sugar on top tho!

D
David Xu

they use actual watermelon in their yogurt smoothies! popcorn chicken is great. also, they give you a teeny cap, for your cap

B
Ben

Yogurt mango smoothie: Get. Choose less sweetness if you don’t want to get diabetes. If it's already this sweet, i can’t imagine what higher sweetness are. Anyways i love these because it reminds me of vietnamese yogurt which is a bit more tangy as it’s made from condensed milk. The sago and mango were great additions to it, so you don’t need to have add ons to this. It’s a kind of small shop that gets busy so don’t expect to hang out in there. There are kiosks to order outside so that helped us not wait in line. Overall though since i rlly like yogurt smoothies i’ll come back here when i get the chance. Drinks: 8/10 Service: 4/10 Atmosphere: 4/10 Value: 5/10

Found this place on goggle when I was searching for desserts and the fried mochi balls were delicious as well as the caramel mochi doughnuts, along with the tasty drinks. Service to be honest was lacking. They provide certain customers better service and nicer bags. Found that annoying like we're all paying customers, yet I get the plain plastic bag you get from farmer's market. My caramel mochi doesn't even look as good as other photos because I didn't get the same treatment.

I was going to give 3 stars because the Oreo smoothie was watery but then the rest, including the mochi waffle with ice cream that I didn’t remember to get a picture of before the ravening hordes mauled it were quite good. Plus it’s such a nice change of pace. Expensive for what you’re getting but service was prompt and our special orders correctly filled.

The black sesame tang yuan is more than 6$ for 3 balls! Seems pretty expensive and average tasting. Mochi waffle with ice cream also tasted average with an above average price. Also got paged while I was there. Also my pet peeve is they give you everything on one-time use utensils and containers. Makes everything feel cheap So overall mid experience, nothing very memorable

Great dessert fix! I got the mochi waffle with vanilla ice cream and black sugar boba with cheese foam to go, satisfying. They have limited outdoor seating.

I ordered a Premium Cheese Oolong tea through DoorDash, but it arrived without the cheese. I called the restaurant to let them know, and they said they could remake it—but only if I came in. The whole point of using DoorDash was to avoid going out. When I mentioned that the cheese is literally in the name of the drink, their response was, "We're busy." This isn't the first time they've forgotten the cheese, so I’m leaving a review in hopes they'll start paying more attention. But who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️

This place is super busy and packed and I can see why! Good: The snowflake bowl was really unique! I liked the shaved ice and the ice cream and option to put on 2 toppings - I got the taro ice cream and the mochi balls which were tasty. Bad: The snowflake bowl ended up coming in a cup though I asked for a bowl? So I wasn't sure if my order was just converted to a cup instead of a bowl. Overall I think that the ice cream didn't have a lot of flavor so it was a lot of ice in the end. My food took a while to come out and there wasn't a lot of seating so we had to wait outside and it probably took 15 min or so? I thought that the creme brulee was a bit too sugary for me. Overall might want to do takeout next time to skip the lines.

W
Wilson Tsang

Food was just ok, service was quick and nice. I basically got a scoop of generic mango ice cream, some fresh mangoes and some not too ripe strawberries on top of some condensed milk ice that was a bit too sweet and that i couldn’t finish because of the sweetness level. Overall may try other things but would pass on what I got

A

It's not bad! I guess a lot is acquired taste. Not a fan of the drinks and hot grass jelly. Calamari, takoyaki, and snowflakes are amazing though!

J

Snowflake cup was way too sweet and pricey. I know it's called sweet moment, but its still much sweeter than other shaved ice or bingsoo I've had.

J

I don't think the hot desserts are as good as Meet Fresh, and the shaved ice Fresh is not the best "bingsoo" either. I prefer beignets over fried mochi.

Review only for the Snowflake bowl. They are super sweet so be aware. Prices are a bit high for what it is ($7+). Taro balls were kind of a letdown. The register is towards the back of the shop, pick up is in front.

Their deserts are over priced and portions are very big. I ordered grass jelly signature desert and it was okaish. It looked pretty as you can see in the picture but pic does not make justice to the actual taste and texture of this desert. The one in the pic costed me 11$ which is insanely priced especially for what they give you.

Came here for a bobba drink. What a dissapointment. Tea was bad, watery and stale.. bobba was ok. No way, Ill come back. Just right in front of this shop, Tea Spoon, had way better tea. Tea Spoon is superior tea, Period.

The amount of calamari is sooo little, especially when compared to the popcorn chicken… it’s also way too salty. I had a great experience last time so I ordered it again, but this time it’s so disappointing!

Had high expectations because of the great reviews but our mango momoko came with no mango..?! All we got were mango puree, taro balls and ice cream but no mango bits. Not sure if this was a sincere mistake or what, but given that this isn't a complex dessert with only 4 ingredients, it isn't really an acceptable miss. Also came in a smaller than expected cup so overall just really disappointing. :(

A

I was quite surprised to find out that there was a HAIR in my drink. Unfortunately I found that out the hard way…Th I spoke to someone on the phone and they were kind, the only thing is that they were flat out rude when I came into the store in person. They did not apologize and seemed to have an attitude even though I was simply coming in to get a drink re-made. I recommend checking your drinks before sipping and having a hair wind up in your mouth

I
Inna Bekk

What is given to customers is not even close to what is shown in the menu for these overpriced so called ‘desserts’. Even today, when additional measures are being taken to prevent the spread of the virus, it is still possible to make food look attractive. It was just a waffle thrown into a paper bag and 2 balls of ice cream in a plastic cup for $12.00

A
Annie W.

Very bad customer service. We waited for a long time for our order and ask the staff about it. The staff picked up a phone call when we were in the middle of conversation asking about my order, super rude. Turned out they forgot to make my order. Horrible service, would not go again

I love the popcorn chicken here, but today it contained a strand of steel wool (?), I am now unsure of the sanitation practices of this location :(
