So I was walking down the street and saw this place. It looked clean and inviting. I sat down and Mimi was right there with a warm and enthusiastic smile. Make sure to request her she is top notch. I got the Korean BBQ. Everything on the plate was so good. Shout out to my mom. I ate Brussel sprouts. I was shocked as well. They were so good. The plate was just bursting with flavor. Just wish my stomach could hold it all. Then Mimi came over and asked if I wanted dessert. I some how found the room for the brownie Sunday. Do not leave the restaurant until you try the Sunday. The best ever. Top notch restaurant with fantastic food and great service.

Everything tasted great! We had the ahi poke $13, wagyu cheese burger $13, clam chowder $18 and fish tacos plate $16 with a couple of beers $14. The food came out quick at dinner time with no wait. I couldn't believe it. This restaurant used to packed before the pandemic. Our server was nice and checked on us often. Great job everyone at Pacific Catch.

Went on a Monday afternoon (3pm) and there were a couple tables occupied. They had the tents with propane heaters available. I was surprised there wasn't more people out eating in general. Overall, staff was very attentive and amicable. Food was pretty good. Guacamole chips were good, guac lacked a little flavor. Sea bass tacos were delicious, crispy shell and sauces hit the spot. The side dishes of black beans and fries (crispy and warm) were also good. Fish tacos and claim chowder were also tasty.

Delicious fresh food and drinks with a focus on seafood. They regularly offer specialty menus, like Luau, which offer an expanded drink and food options. What i really like is the ability to customize many of the dishes. Also the menu provides a range of selections from decadent Sticky Ribs to a light Ahi Salad bowl. Portions are substantial.

Exceeded my expectations; pricey for the food but they give a large quantity so it’s not so bad. Came here for a coworker’s birthday. I reserved ahead of time on open table. The max it can take is 6 people so I made multiple reservations. Staff is friendly.

Great food for health and taste. I'm glad this place managed to find a balance in between! This is my go to spot for a quick lunch/dinner on the go. They have a wide variety of menu options and substitutions, which I appreciate since most restaurants don't offer substitutions. Parking is a little difficult on the weekends. You can either park by the Movie Theaters or at the San Mateo parking garage on the other side. A great place for groups and they have a good size dining area outside. Overall the food and service were good!

The place was not crowded, but it took a long time to order. When we got the table, a waiter immediately came to take our orders, but we haven’t decided as it was our first time and we wasn’t sure what’s on the menu. The waiter said he would come back five minutes later, yet when we decided and waited for 5 minutes, nobody came. We tried to call for any available waiters/waitresses, but nobody came, even if I was sure some looked our way. It was until the first waiter came to our table that we could order. The attentiveness of the staff displeased us further when they took so long to get what we wanted. We asked at the start for water and utensils for kids. However, they didn’t arrive even when all the dishes were served. My husband had to give up his plate for our baby and fed our son himself as the adult utensils are not safe for kids. We kept asking for 3 more times to finally have what we wanted. The food is okay. We like the ramen, but fish & chips is not good.

Updated: Went back to Pacific Catch recently and had the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. They served us a meal that had a side of seaweed salad that tasted funky with an alcohol taste and smell (we had another dish that also had seaweed salad and the other one tasted fine). I have an alcohol allergy and am extremely sensitive and was starting to have a reaction. We notified them and gave them the seaweed salad but they didn't really do anything other than offer to take our food away after the manager was notified. We then had to ask to talk to the manager, who already had the demeanor that he was annoyed on his way over and when we told him our situation he simply said "I know, it was shown to me and it was fine" and proceeded to deny any possibility that it could've gone bad and that there's no way that it could have any hint of alcohol. I told him repeatedly that of course I have no idea HOW it could have happened but all I know is that I have an alcohol allergy and am having a reaction to it, and that there was something clearly wrong with the seaweed salad served. Something could have fermented, there could have been cross contamination, etc... I have no idea, but at least acknowledge the fact that something may be wrong and try to look into it. The manager ignored the fact that I was having an allergic reaction and kept saying it's not possible for the seaweed salad to have gone bad, dismissed our concerns with an attitude, did not try to listen from the start, and actually WALKED AWAY while we were still trying to talk to him. The worst management I have ever experienced, and as someone who has worked in customer facing jobs, I know it can be difficult, but to completely disregard a customer from the jump and treat them with such disrespect without even acknowledging their concerns was shocking. I will NEVER go to Pacific Catch again after this experience. Past review: There were so many interesting options on the menu, I had a hard time choosing. I got the Big Kahuna in the end and it was really good! It was a little bit on the pricier side but that comes with seafood, and given the serving size I would say it was worth it. The servers were also incredibly patient and really awesome! Great experience and will be going back to try other things on the menu

Just got off a flight decided to order from the is place to go and it was not good!! Ordered fish and chips fries were ok fish wasnt done all the way was cold in the middle Ordered the salmon sandwich small piece of fish and huge soggy bun ended up just eating the salmon and tossing the soggy bun out!! Was to tired to go back and complain but do not eat here!! They could careless about the dishes being sent out! Very disappointing

I like Pacific catch and it is my go to whenever I’m around in San Mateo. But today I had a terrible experience that I would raise a food safety concerns for it. I ordered Chicken Teriyaki bowl through DoorDash and I picked it up myself, but then while eating I found an insect or a cockroach leg within the rice! See the attached picture

We had an extremely disturbing experience at Pacific Catch in San Mateo. We ordered the Classic Yellowtail Ceviche, and to our shock, we found a used bandage in our food. This is a major food safety and hygiene violation, and frankly, it was disgusting. The staff and manager apologized and told us we wouldn’t have to pay. They also offered a voucher for a future visit, but they took so long processing it that we eventually left, as we were disgusted and still hungry. While I appreciate the apology, this kind of incident should have never happened in the first place, and it seriously calls into question the cleanliness of their kitchen and food handling practices. I hope the restaurant takes immediate steps to improve their hygiene standards, but I personally will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this place to others until they can guarantee a much safer dining experience.
