Great service, very fast. Often times there will be five people working in that tiny place which helps reduce any lines. The only Poke place I’ve seen which has shiitake mushrooms. Will definitely be back to try their specials!
Delicious food, great selection and friendly employees. There was a bit of a line when we arrived but service is efficient so it moves quickly. Good value for the amount and quality that you get.
My first time having Poke so I'm no specialist in poke establishments. I do, however have ample experience with sushi. Fish was fresh, many different flavor combinations. Enjoyable experience
Amazing poke and very friendly staff! I stopped by a minute past the closing time and they were so nice to still take me order. The portions and options are generous and fresh.
First off, I'm vegetarian and this place has vegetarian protein options which is great. Even if there's a line, the wait is never long because the employees are very efficient. I've been here many times and always remarked how consistently good the food is (good portion and good quality) and how friendly the employees are. It's clean and has a good amount of space to sit inside alone or with a friend. A great place that I will continue to eat at.
We are super-satisfied regular customers. Their food is always fresh, their service friendly and professional and the facilities well maintained and clean. They offer a great value for the price. So nice to have a quality “go to” place for Poke in the east bay. The only thing they could do to make the experience better is to offer on-line ordering.
I was a little hesitant to get poke being vegetarian, but the tofu is absolutely wonderful. I got a small bowl, and it was a perfect sized meal. The bowls are so flavorful, and I really appreciate how they mix the sauce, protein, and vegetables. The little seasonings they put on top just send it to the next level. The food comes out fast, and for a good price. I went with a friend, and both of us could not stop raving about it. I will be coming back!
Love this place! Best poke around! Friendly service and delicious. It's a small location so lines do form rather quickly and service is a bit slow. So wouldn't recommend if you only have a 30min lunch break during the week.
Ok, I just had the best poke of my life here. Like, no kidding, I have had a lot of poke in my life but this was so good. The fish here was fresh, the toppings were perfect, and the bases are done fine. I got a large bowl with white rice, crab salad, 2 scoops of salmon, 2 scoops of tuna, and I had it mixed with the mild poke and spicy mayo sauces. It came out perfectly.
Best poke in the bay area. Fish is so fresh, toppings are the perfect proportions, unlike other poke places where the pieces are cut too large and impossible to eat. Best customer service, they're so sweet. Recommend asking for animal style, they'll mix everything in for you, so the sauce is mixed in perfectly.
Great Poke! Awesome selection of fish including the usual plus seared salmon, albacore and hamachi. Japanese style scallops are amazing. Also great selection of tasty sauces. A large bowl with some extra protein could set you back $20 but well worth it.
Been going for years when I was working at BR. With shelter in place, I haven't gone in a while, and after going last week, I remembered why I enjoyed it. Lots of options (including tofu), I'm definitely full afterwards. The staff are friendly and helpful when you don't know what to choose, and have done a good job with social distancing. A great local business!
Love the make your own bowl for a reasonable price. The medium is a solid amount of food and the fish is fresh. I haven't explored all the sauces and combos but I really like the tuna, salmon, yellowtail with the spicy poke sauce. They don't overdo the sauce, which is nice. One thing that I need to try is the half rice, half salad base that I see a lot of others do.
One of the best poke bowls I've had in the Bay Area! The fish was incredibly fresh, and the variety of toppings and sauces really elevated the dish. It was flavorful, well-balanced, and had a perfect mix of textures. What stood out even more was the exceptional service—friendly lady who made sure we had everything we needed. If you are craving for a good poke, highly recommend. P.S. Make sure to have cash or zelle/venmo to pay!
Great experience and the poke is good, the lady who took my order was gentle and very nice. Toppings were generous but wish the scoops of fish were a little bit larger.
Oh... I am salad eater and maker. Poke Don is greatest salad ever! The owner is greatest too... He put his heart to each plate. For $10-12 you will enjoy raw seafood salad with dressing of your choice. Even you never tried raw seafood you will never forget taste of Poke Don salad. A lots of ingredients mixed together give you unforgettable experience. Please stop and try.
A must try! It's a really good place to eat fresh tuna and fish in a bowl 🍜🤤
Honestly I love coming here! The food is really fresh and tasty, you really can't go wrong with anything here. It's fast and quite affordable considering what you're getting.
Amazing food and customer service! Everyone’s very chill and will help you make your delicious food! 10/10 would definitely recommend! 🔥

Fantastic salad bowl spot! Nestled in a good spot next to Safeway, the poke is nice and fresh - toppings and everything else is fantastic! Price is reasonable, my wife and I can share a medium bowl as a light dinner. But great spot so healthy, great ingredients!
This is still, hands down, my favorite place to eat. Nothing compares to Poké Don. The fish is always so fresh, as well as the vegetables. Good selection, fair price. Use the menu to pre fill out your order while in line to have a faster experience. The mango sauce is definitely something to try with the brown rice. The small portion is enough for most people.
Food was good. Basically design your own poke bowl. Lots of things to choose from. Most are included in the price. A fee items are extra charge. Volcano sauce is very spicy for those who like it hot.
Good quality fish and love creating my own rice fish bowl. All our family's creation are all different. Can be tough to order first time around as there's so many option.
Being a consultant is hard work. I mean lots of time spent driving and traveling, but the pay is too good to switch career anytime soon. Only 5.3% of my net pay is spend eating out in a year, the rest are from clients. On this day, I was called upon Poke Don prior to their soft opening, but couldn't make it. A few months went by before I finally made it. This place is clean and organize with a easy to understand menu and concept. You know money and effort was put into the place. Staff are young and diverse waiting eagerly to make you bowl. My bowl was worthy in weight and presentation. Fish are fresh and not smelly as nothing was masking the potential flavors of each fish. I didn't opt for full choice toppings as I went a little here and there, but turns out still good.
The food was great, good flavor and quality. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the customer service. The employees were chatting with each other the whole time while I was trying to give my order. He would ask me what toppings and continued to chat while I was listing them off. It was a bit uncomfortable. Besides that, everything was good!
First time here, the signage made ordering easy. You build your bowl at 4 different stations: base, protien, cause, and sides/toppings. The bowl was served cold and you mix it yourself. Small place, not much seating but a good experience. The ingredients were fresh so if you dislike your bowl you don't know your own tastes.
I recently visited Poke Don, and overall, it was a good experience. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, but when I arrived—nearly an hour after opening—all the tables and chairs were still set aside, making the space feel uninviting for dine-in guests. The staffing seemed limited, with only one employee working. He appeared a bit stressed, which was understandable given the number of customization options for each poke bowl. However, service was still efficient, and my order was prepared in a reasonable amount of time. As for the food, I ordered a medium poke bowl with brown rice and salad, spicy tuna, salmon, and octopus. The ingredients were fresh, and the variety of options available was great. The portion sizes were appropriate—not overly generous but also not stingy. While I would recommend trying Poke Don, it’s not necessarily a must-visit spot. If you’re in the area and craving poke, it’s a solid choice, but it doesn’t stand out as exceptional. 4 out of 5 stars. Would I return? Yes. But I’d hope for a more inviting setup for dine-in guests next time.
The service is quick and easy. The food is good. Pick and choose what you like.
First I see they are good with flavoring (love the wasabi sauce!) and food freshness. Second I can see that they are conscious of food health safety, especially working with seafood. Third, the only server there shows good customer service and resilience. Fourth There are plenty of options to choose from. Portion for cost though I think could be improved, and they can improve in staffing. A shift lead and part timer? Bottlenecking when the line increases (not the server's fault). Atmosphere (customer space) could be revamped. Its very quiet in there.

Honestly the poke wasn't that bad but for $18 I felt like the tuna and salmon weren't as fresh as they should've been. It had a very distinct fishy taste that made it hard to eat. Before you say fIsH iS gOnNA tAsTe FiShY, good fresh fish should not be tasteless
They never open on time, even though their posted business hours indicate otherwise.
Edit: it’s hard to recommend this place given how packed it always is now. Expect a thirty minute wait due to lines. This place should have transitioned into pickup orders and instead they continue to cram people into lines. Classic Bay Area poke. Extremely tasteful fish, toppings, rice and sauces. The house soy sauce is excellent. Never had a single complaint about their food. The staff is extremely nice and the place is super clean and tidy.
I liked this place quite a bit, but a few things prevented me from giving it a 5-star rating. I felt as though I was overcharged for the entire meal. I've been to other poke restaurants where I wasn't charged for certain toppings for which Poke Don charged me - mainly the mangoes. I have received more and larger portions of fish for a cheaper price at other locations as well. They also gave a very small amount of rice for the entire bowl. The taste was quite delicious, but I have definitely tasted poke that was just as good - if not better - than the poke served here at a cheaper price.
food taste good but portion getting smaller everyday

Will always love this place, it’s a SOLID poke spot, but admittedly it hasn’t been the same since covid hit. There used to be kids running this place who were the best at fair servings, exciting interactions, and overall creating a welcoming, fast paced and deliverable atmosphere. Since then, they cut all of their staff and it’s simply just a mom and pop who got a little quiet and kept in, raised the prices, and cut back on servings. I get it, small business survival is rough these days and you gotta do what you gotta do, but I do miss those 2018-19 days at Poke Don. This place will always be nostalgic for me though and I’ll keep coming back again and again simply because of the quality of the food and the memories.
Just got a serving To try out. They will serve you small portions of fish with a melon ball scooper….. which isn’t even a quarter cup. Even if you ask for the four scoop, it’s barely half a cup of fish. …. Seriously? 😒 The salmon fish is the cheap farm raised fish. You could tell because there’s huge layers of fat in between the meat. So I had to pass on the salmon. 😔 Extremely small amounts of fish. They bury it with all the other toppings. The prices per bowl In my opinion Should’ve been 35% cheaper.

First time here, let the employees know that right off the bat - felt some negative energy from the guy who was helping me - I didn’t know what I was selecting yet I had to take some time to make my selections there was no one else in the store so I was not holding up a line . Not friendly at all very mono tone - I know he could speak a bit more courteously because after he took my order and gave me my food he was having a full on conversation with the female employee that was there. So basically he doesn’t think he needs to be polite or friendly to customers - the ones who spend their money there in order for him to have a job. Did not get a thank you or have a nice night or please come again Won’t be back there again that guy rubbed me the wrong way.
The food is pretty decent. However, after being a regular customer for at least three years now, I will not be returning. First, the owners let go of most of the people who used to work there and raised the prices. The wait time increased from 5-10 min to average 30. Now, they have started closing at random times. Today I came at 3:30 and the sign on the door said they're closed and will be back at 4:30. I guess, if you are ok with someone disrespecting your time -- keep coming over, but my patience threshold has been reached. I'd rather drive farther out to get poke, at least I know they'll be open during posted work hours. Plus, most of other poke joints don't charge you extra for so many things. 2$ for a small scoop of avocado is quite atrocious.
I used to come here almost every weekend but as most others have observed, service is lacking quite a bit. I don't want to feel like I'm annoying anyone when I'm ordering take out but that's totally what I feel when I walk in and order. Not a single friendly face behind the service counter. Hopefully they implement online ordering.

There’s only 1 woman making the food and there’s clearly more staff in the back. Would be nice to come get some food without waiting 30 minutes because there’s 2 people in front of me. Every time I come here it’s a wonder this place is still open. Must be a front lmao
Tuna is sour and spoiled. Be aware.
The food is okay, but I've had better poke elsewhere. My biggest qualm is the price and how cheap they've gotten with serving. They've raised it from 12.95 to 16.95 for a medium (3 scoops) in a year. Furthermore, if you get expensive ingredients like tobiko or crab meat, they give you very little! And don't bother getting avocado which costs $2 extra. I've started to make poke at home because it can be done much cheaper.
Their random closing is frustrating. I understand sometimes small businesses have to close but it seems like this is a practice so they can update their hours. The hours posted say they’re open until 7pm but the doors are locked at 4pm.

Rude service and got food poisoning after my last visit. It used to be decent place but has gone downhill since COVID
The lady serving me treated me like a child while I was trying to order. I also tried to ask her what Tobiko was because I couldn’t recall (I haven’t had Poke in awhile?) and she has the audacity to point me to the signs to tell me to that everything was right in front of me. How rude and condescending. Customer service, lady. I will not be returning. 2:13 pm Saturday July 19th, 2025 - whoever was working at this time (in case the owner wants to revisit employee training)
They need to hire more people. The old lady was SOOOOOOO SLOW. Took almost an hour and more people left but dang. She was slow. Idk if i am coming back again.
