This is the best pizza I’ve ever had. Even delivered it’s still perfect. I can’t say enough good things. And the ranch? Otherworldly. My favorite pizza ever like even better than the stuff in Italy. 10/10 I love you guys
Solid pizza, spicy pep is especially fire. Friendly staff and easy parking for SM too if you go at an off peak hour. Can be pretty busy at times though.
Amazing pizza and salad. Everything tasted fresh and well made. Highly recommend the vodka pizza.
True New York style pizza. If you like it greasy get the pepperoni and if you don’t just get the cheese. Great flop great char. The sauce is very good. The homemade ranch is addicting.
Where to start Pep lovers it's great here. Thick crust, thin crust peperoni lovers delight. Crispy goodness and fresh tomato pizza sauce, and the BBQ chicken pizza is the best around they knew BBQ needs a special ingredient which they did spare no expense to add it and give it great taste no matter what flavors/ ingredients you add. Thank you Prime staff you make the place fun to go to very kind and nice people work here.
OMGEEEEE!!! A friend of mine and I JUST went to Pico Prime Pizza and they are AWESOME!! The pizza was great and worth all is the hype!! I got bbq chicken and pepperoni slices, and they both were DELICIOUS!! There were AWESOME vegan options for my friend!! Also, DeMarcus (he may even be a manager/asst manager) was a welcome treat! from the minute we walked in the door, he was kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and gave WONDERFUL service and advice!! He also did it with a big smile!! 6/27/25 - 2nd visit This pizza is soooooo DELICIOUS!! I got the bbq chicken for myself, and vegan for my friend. And again, it does not disappoint!! I was assisted by Jose & Matt today, and they were awesome. I even had a special request, and Jose handled it easily and with no problem!!
The absolute best crew at my favorite pizza stop. I'm a student at SMC and I can say that everyone that works here is the nicest and provides the best customer service. They all genuinely seem to like each other and don't mind how busy it gets here at lunch or dinner. They are so sweet to me ALWAYS. Today especially though. I'm sad I'm transferring to a different school soon. The socialism pizza is great. The cheese here is exceptional. I'm really going to miss coming here!
Excellent house-made gluten-free crust! We had take-out from Prime, and their gluten free pizza with non-dairy cheese was excellent. Delivery was quick and friendly. Will definitely order again.
I recently dined at Prime Pizza on Pico Boulevard, and it was an outstanding experience. Located across the street from Santa Monica College, this spot has a special significance in the Santa Monica community, replacing the beloved Gray Block Pizza. The atmosphere at Prime Pizza is inviting, and the staff is friendly and attentive. What caught my palate’s attention was the Grandma dish pizza. Not too heavy, it struck a perfect balance of flavors and textures. It’s worth noting that Gray Block Pizza used to be a favorite of mine, especially for their pretzel crust, but Prime Pizza has seamlessly stepped into the scene and exceeded my expectations. The transition from Gray Block Pizza to Prime Pizza hasn’t just maintained the quality but elevated it. The Grandma dish pizza is now a top recommendation for anyone seeking a delightful pizza experience on Pico Boulevard. Kudos to Prime Pizza for carrying on the legacy of great pizza in this location!
These folks know how to make a wheel! Paper thin, perfect chewiness, excellent amount of toppings and piping hot! My new go to pizza place when in Santa Monica
I have eaten pizzas in Italy, UK, New York, San Francisco etc. This is the best pizza I’ve ever had bar none. Perfect base, toppings and very generous size for the price. 10 out of 10.
Always fun and reliable. We usually pick up a pie with the kids on Fridays. Love that they fo half and half to avoid fights 😅
Great establishment with great customer service. The employees seem very joyful. What prompted me to leave this review was that they give out their extra pizzas at the end of the day to the homeless! Love it!
LOVE THIS PIZZA! The slices are huge and the ingredients are fresh! The BBQ Chicken is my favorite! I put pineapple on half for extra sweetness. Highly recommend!
Will go again / price = average / service = above average / speed = above average / management = above average / cleanliness = above average Ordered the garlic knots, meatballs, wings, Cobb salad, 1/2 supreme and 1/2 sausage and kale. New location for a NY style pizza...coming from NYC / NJ, this is a big statement. But, well done! Prime Pizza can call it NY style indeed. So there are 2 types: slightly thicker crust and very crunchy & thin crust with soft and droopy. Prime Pizza is the former of thick but perfect sized crust and CRUNCHAYYY! No longer do I need to order to bake the crust well done. I Although I like a slightly thinner crust, they got it to perfection. I can finally say I found a go to pizza spot in LA metro to remind me of my homestate area. From the knots to the meatballs, it is like having a Superbowl party at a pizzeria! The Cobb salad is not a puny order of ingredients. It is stacked with variety and may have a complete set of nutrients for those healthy minded. In contrary but stacked with absolute deliciousness, hearty, and CARBSSS is everything else. The buffalo sauce in the wings fly to your mouth reminiscent of the Superbowl era. The meatballs are grandma style drenched in marinara and oozing of cheese. Continue to top it with more marinara as you plate it. The garlic knots compliment everything else and truly reminded me of some back at homestate. For the main piZZa, the 1/2 supreme, 1/2 sausage and kale are definitely top toppings. The pepperoni in the supreme has more pepp than your normal pepperoni. Definitely not the sad, "bigger is better but flat like Earth" ones you see on other pizzas. Proper Pepperoni. Sausage and kale might be one of the best toppings for a mix of meaty but earthy. Such a perfect balance of toppings. No need to mention the crust again...perfectly CRUNCHAY! No well done crust needed. Next up...order for 1 full pie to myself!
One of my favorite go to pizza places in Santa Monica is across the street from Santa Monica College…. I had a slice while I waited because I needed some emergency food after Jujitsu…It was absolutely delicious…. Meantime, I ordered a large supreme pizza, Caesar salad, and two chicken buffalo wings….Always consistent and always delicious and my kids love it so thank you and keep up the good work and I’ll be back soon.
Prime pizza is the best pizza in LA… there I said it! Yes, I live literally next door to their Pico location so I maybe biased, but this is the most consistent pizza place I’ve had in LA. Also idk where they find their staff but every one who works here has a cool vibe. I personally love their traditional pies but my bf never passes on their square cuts, which are always crispy on the edges but pillow top soft at the centers. They have a sweeter tomato sauce that is bright and zesty. And I love that they offer lunch time deals with a drink around $10 which have saved me when I just don’t have it in me to cook at home. They will also double slice your pizza so if you have having a large party your pie will go further. We’ve come in for a slice and we have ordered 30 pizzas, yes 30… it was a big party. Regardless everything is fresh and always on time. This location specifically has a cute covered patio in the back with a TV so you can catch the game or host a party. So proud to be their neighbor. Love you Prime ❤️🍕
Ordered from here. There (GF) Pizza was excellent and so were their wings. The buffalo sauce they have is also a highlight. Tastewise it was almost perfect. One day later I ate there again (wings, in store) because it was so good.
The pizza was really delicious! One of the best in LA. But what stand out the most is the amazing customer service! Mat is the friendliest and most polite employee at any Pizza spot I’ve been to. He helped me pick what to get and was super quick as well. I’ll definitely be back because of him!
The pizza was amazing! I’ve tried the vodka & cheese signature pizza and the square cheese pizza and the garlic knots. The staff was super friendly! 9/10 for the vodka pizza with thin and crunchy dough 8/10 for the cheese cheese square pizza 7.5/10 for the garlic bread knots Paul gave me the best suggestions and experience! Will come back for sure!
My co-worker put me on this place, the toppings are so fresh! Such perfect dough and sauce! I’m a huge pizza fan, this is easily on my top five favorite places to eat pizza at! The nicest people work here 🌟
This is the second time I’ve been to this pizza spot. I had the pepperoni slice before this time I had the spicy pepperoni slice and both were amazing. The spicy pepperoni is really really good. This is across from Santa Monica College. I recommend everyone goes there. It’s amazing. The sauce is great crust is nice the staff there is cool everybody’s friendly. Another reason why I went back.
Bomb. I got a combo $15 for slice salad and drink. Great deal. I opted for the deep dish style (love this kind) spicy pepperoni slice and the mixed salad. Both were super good and hearty. I ate the pizza too fast to take a pic. Salad was huge and very tasty. Service was friendly and helpful as well! Highly recommended!
The best pizza in Santa Monica. Not sure why Yelp says Sawtelle area. This is located on Santa Monica Blvd more towards Bundy drive. Not much room to dine inside. A few tables for two outside are available. Pizza is by the slice or box. Grandmas Pizza was a treat. Basically pizza on sourdough bread. I really like how the add fresh basil to the pizza here. The sauce is delicious. The crust is phenomenal. A little higher price than other places, but well worth the couple bucks extra.

Great staff and pies. The atmosphere is kind of basic, but it's really a pizza take out experience. Maybe I will try the patio the next time I grab a couple slices.
Excellent undercarriage on regular slices! “one bite, you know the rules” My fav is the Sicilian.
Well, I was there for the first time to pick up an order for UBER. The order was just made so, it takes a while to be ready. At this time, a young guy, that works that, or maybe the owner, or manager… doesn’t meter, realizing the long time I was waiting for the order, offered me a pizza slice. Of course I got it. And this was one of the best pizza slice I ever had in Santa Monica!!! Wow, you got a new customer!!!! What a delicious pizza!!!! Thank you so much for the very nice and friendly experience!!! Definitely, see you soon!!!!

Great Za. A bit pricy per slice and per pie, but if you want really good fresh pizza, it's hard to beat.
The pizza is very good here, and the garlic knots too! Sometimes there is a wait, however, despite text messages that ‘food is ready for pick up’. No big deal but the second time I went, I didn’t rush there and it worked out better.
Not from the area, so I only ordered this b/c uber eats had it as highest rated in the area, and I can see why! High quality ingredients with the perfect proportion of toppings to crust!
Solid pizza spot! Good pizza. Some of then only remaining affordable prices available in LA. Great, GREAT cookies! Order via app and pick up in 20 min. Parking can be a bit of a pain but worth the effort. Also occasionally have some sweet shirts!
Prime Pizza is a hot pizza spot within LA, for the size of this NY style pizza is well worth its cost! The staff is so friendly every time i come here. They offer by the slice, whole pizzas, square pizza and sides + beverages! What i ordered: (shared amongst 3) -pepperoni added jalapeño round pie: 8/10, ringing in about $30, very fulling and crunchy crust -garlic knots: 7/10, paired very well with the marinara sauce given to you, $5, very garlicy which i love as a garlic gal
I decided to stop by Prime Pizza to sample some pizza. We ordered a full sausage pizza to take home, and sampled the following slices. Spicy square pepperoni, four cheese, and Sicilian. The spicy square pepperoni was delicious. Not too spicy, just the right amount. The crust was crispy and not dry. The sauce and cheese evenly melted, and the pepperoni was delicious. The square Sicilian was by far the best tasting. The mixture of cheese, pesto, and tomato sauce was an explosion of flavor in the mouth. The white slice was overcooked and will not be ordered next time, it was really dry. The hot sausage pizza was steaming from the box so we had to try it there. Delicious. Cheese, sauce, and sausage all yummy, but I wished they had added more sausage. Don't skimp on the sausage! Total with two drinks, $58.44. We will be back to sample other slices and the wings.
I came to try out this pizza because my son, pizza was really good but great. The crust wasn't my favorite, the sauce and cheese was good. I took some home and my wife liked it very much so we'll definitely come back to try the rest of the pies. Apollonia's is better in my opinion
This place is pretty good! Especially if you’re coming from class. They get a rush around 12/1 PM, naturally; however, they always handle it with ease. It’s a bit pricey for what you get, but I can’t lie the slice hits the spot 🍕 Also, whoever is on aux is a 10/10, they’re always playing great music in there!!!
So, first off, NY style is not my favorite, I prefer a thicker crust with a chewy outside ring, and a good unhealthy blanket of cheese and sauce. In my area, that describes Fat Tomato in MdR, and especially Johnnie's, on the other side of Lincoln. My rating is based on the NY style, because if you put that on the same scale as wood-fired artisan pizzas, it wouldn't be fair, that's almost a different food group. For some, NY is everything to them, and I'm sure you've seen the Evil Corp tube guy's reviews, he downgrades any pizza that isn't NY. So-called Neapolitan style starts out at an automatic 6.8, he would rate a mediocre NY over an accomplished pizza of another type, which is silly in my view. He loved Prime, but even setting my preferences aside (I won't commit the same crime), I can't agree. First off, the crust ring was larger and more puffed up than I'm used to seeing on NY style, but still crunchy. That's not a bad thing in my book, and in practice, a lot of crusts seem to fit the category. I thought the crust was the best part. The rest, not so much. It was oily on the surface, and apparently with so little cheese, the sauce carried the predominant color. I'm not use to seeing orange pizzas. There were also way too many mushrooms, which I realize is viewed as a sin by NY fanciers anyway, so never mind. It did taste good, no problem there, and I liked the crust very much. So I guess I'll give it four stars, but in my universe, the kind of pizza I prefer, it would be be a three. Oddly enough, the nearby pizza the famous YT reviewer hated was Upper Crust, which has a flat, crispy crust ring I most associate with NY style. It also looks better imho, and I like the taste (Prime is on the left in the photo, UC right). The problem is their very thin crust makes the pizza droopy, even though the bottom is well browned, which was intolerable to the YT reviewer. I agree UC is too floppy, they probably go too thin, but I much preferred that pizza to this. Sorry to Prime fanciers, that's my call. Finally, there's that subject we don't talk about, refer pizza. When you buy a large, never mind two, some of it is going to end up in the fridge, and a cold pizza breakfast can be sublime. Oh sure, you can try heating it up, but even with a convection oven it's hit and miss. The super thin Upper Crust was one of the best refer pizzas I've ever had, the cheese solidified and cured the droop, and the crust ring even retained some crunch, great. Unfortunately, the Prime crust edge seized up and turned into leather, not that I found those browned mushrooms embedded in cold orange goo all that appetizing anyway. The leftover slices went into the trash chute, a sad end for any pizza.

Tried this place out twice same both times. Place looks fun and exciting. Although staff is slow to help. Pizza has minimal toppings, cheese, and sauce. Although the bread is very good. By the slice looks like they are not seeing good turn around. There is plenty of parking which is great. Probably will not return due to better options around.
The Grinch stole Christmas here. The pizza is above average, but the fact that they lack the Christmas spirit spent almost $100 and didn’t even get one ranch sauce.

2 pepperoni slices and lemon pepper wings for $25, definitely not worth it Almost 20 minutes later I get my order, the wings had no lemon flavor all the pepper was in a lump in one spot of the wing. Pizza sucked and cold. I will never go there again.
I live less than 2 mi away from here, the delivery wasn't even 10 minutes, and the pizza showed up completely cold. There wasn't even attempt to heat it up. How crappy can a restaurant be when they can't even try to serve you fresh food. Really wish I would have looked at the ratings before I listened to someone who said they had good pizza. Waste of Money. Much better places around LA, for more affordable prices!
Ordered on Postmates, came ice cold. No refund. If you chose to be an exclusive through Postmates make sure they are delivering properly. Unacceptable to be charged an exorbitant amount for cold pizza. 👎🏻
Folks, I'm shocked by this establishment. Here's my short story. I left Ukraine and came to the US as a school student. We were forced to leave our home because of constant bombings and shelling. We didn't plan to move to the US, so my parents, who are pensioners, didn't learn English. After arriving, I studied at school, and then enrolled in a college which is across the street from this pizzeria. On the first day of my trip to the college to submit my application, I arrived early and parked with my parents near this pizzeria to have breakfast before going to the college admissions office. We went into the pizzeria and started thinking about what to eat. But the manager came out and said that they were still closed. We left and decided not to waste time, crossed the street, and went to the college for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes we returned to the pizzeria, but our car wasn't there. We were shocked. It was very hot. My parents don't tolerate the heat well. We didn't know what to do, because we weren't familiar with the city, we didn't know where to go or who to call. We went back to the college and asked people for help. One kind person told us that the car might be in an impound lot. We walked a long way in the heat looking for this lot. Then we waited for an employee to become available. And this is what we found out. The manager from this pizzeria called a tow truck service. We were fined $500. I'm a master of sports in chess, and I spent two weeks earning that money playing chess on the Santa Monica boardwalk to pay for my college tuition, but instead I had to use that money to pay the fine. This is a disgrace. I have never encountered such inhumane behavior in my life. I want you to know how this pizzeria treats its customers.
Staff was extremely rude and pretentious. I frequent the Altadena location, and this one was so far off and below the bar of what the Altadena location set. Tried to enjoy my pizza and the staff members just had a very pretentious attitude and was very rude when asking questions about certain pizza. I won't call out the exact individuals, but it was very unnecessary the way they felt the need to talk and act the way they did. Food was ok, definitely not as good as the Altadena location.
