We first stumbled into Bistro 112 back in December 2024, and it instantly became one of those little gems you can’t wait to revisit. On our recent trip, we went back specifically for the famous Arugula Martini they had recommended on our first visit — and once again, it did not disappoint! We had a later reservation this time since the bistro was booked for a private event until 7:30. When we arrived at 7:45, the staff welcomed us warmly. Everything was clean, organized, and seamlessly reset for dinner service. Our waiter struck the perfect balance of being attentive without hovering — checking in just enough, offering thoughtful recommendations, and making sure we were well cared for all evening. The food was, once again, absolutely delicious. I ordered the lamb, my boyfriend chose the filet, and both dishes were fantastic with generous portions. For dessert, we shared the flourless chocolate cake and a macaron — honestly, it was more sweets than we needed, but every bite was beautiful and worth it. The ambiance is exactly what you want from a French bistro: relaxed, inviting, and subtly sophisticated. Bistro 112 continues to be one of our favorite finds — and we can’t wait to return again.

This is a quaint, beautiful bistro. We were greated warmly by the staff and seated immediately. The decor is very pleasant and cozy. Surprisingly, there is a cute bar area. There are options to sit outside where there is a gorgeous garden, or cozy seating upstairs. The menu is interesting, the food is quality and delicious. The food and drink presentation was beautiful. I tried my husband's cute little biscuit and I can say it was the best biscuit I have ever tasted. Leah was our server and she was wonderful. Jay the owner took her time to check on us and gave us a tiny tour. She is so nice. 10 out of 10 we will be back.

Wonderful little spot in heart of downtown. Friendly and attentive staff from the moment you enter. Excellent flavor profiles and seasoning of all dishes. One of the best eggs Benedict I’ve had. Only minor comment might be the portion size of the smoked salmon was rather small for a brunch menu item. Other than that, zero issues. Highly recommended for a day trip anyway from DC. If weather suits, go for patio seating!

How can a restaurant this good be in such a small town? I stopped here for lunch while riding the C&O canal path. The hostess was fine with me sitting in the main dining area, but I felt more comfortable on their patio, which was lovely. It has lots of hanging plants but was still sunny. I had their Thai salmon which had perfectly crispy skin and wonderful flavor. And I was so happy I opted to get dessert.

Have been here many times and it’s such a wonderful spot. Outdoor seating here is lovely and the food and drinks are always delicious (particularly brunch!)

We had dinner last night and boyyy was it good! There were 6 of us and everyone raved about the service and the food! No complaints! I personally had the French onion soup and the trout and they both were great! The sauce for the trout was out of this world! Service was great! Our server was sweet and knowledgeable. The bartender made a mock tail for a kid in our group and he hand delivered it and made her feel very special! It was a wonderful experience all around and we will definitely be back!

We had a great experience at this restaurant! The food and service were excellent. The French soup was absolutely delicious — it had the perfect balance of flavors. The atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. This place has become one of my favorite spots in Shepherdstown. Highly recommend!

Very nice atmosphere, prices are reasonable. Cocktails can be more reasonably priced but they were great. Food is very tasty. Worth the price.

Cozy and quiet atmosphere. Delicious food. Loved the homemade unique butter flavors and bread. The escargot with pistachios and a pistachio butter was the best we’ve ever had. The homemade pasta they do on Friday and Saturday nights was perfection. Absolutely loved all our food!

Highly recommend for brunch. French toast looks underwhelming BUT IT IS INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. I order it every time. My boyfriend loves the farmers breakfast and so do I. It’s filling and very yummy. They switched bacon brands a few weeks back and it was terrible but they switched to a different brand and it’s perfectly seasoned again.

Such a cute little restaurant. Incredible service and everyone is so friendly. One of the best French onion soups we have eaten in recent history. The trout dip was excellent. Tuna und trout main dish was delicious. Great crunchy skin on the trout. The tuna had a bit too much spice on the crust. Lovely varied wine list. There was no room for desserts but I feel the desserts could be more interesting. Give it a try you’ll love the bistro.

We enjoyed our experience at Bistro 112 so much! The food was delicious and came out perfectly timed. We ordered drinks, the small bread basket, salads, the salmon, and steak frites. Everything was classic but with a unique twist that we appreciated. Our service was amazing too. We’ll be back and highly recommend it to others!

Ooh la la! So glad this restaurant has reopened. We enjoyed Sunday lunch and it was as good, if not better, than before. Of course the service was a tiny bit disjointed given the recent opening, but the servers were friendly and prompt. I had steak frite and my husband had the chicken, we shared the escargot. For desert a chocolate mousse and raspberry cream tart. All was excellent! Some of the escargot had grit, but the extra bread to soak up the butter, herb and mushrooms made up for it. It was very busy and got quite loud downstairs, upstairs may be quieter. We'll definitely be back! Recently visited again and enjoyed their newly renovated outside dining which is fantastic!

The seating is a little tight inside, but there are outside options with nice weather. It is a good spot in historic Shepherdstown. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious.

Sit outside on the back patio. It's absolutely gorgeous. Food is delicious and fairly priced. The menu isn't huge but it is very high quality. Wait staff is exceptionally friendly and very attentive.

My girlfriend and I came here for dinner and it was so good! Our server, Cassidy was amazing, super friendly, very attentive and willing to answer any questions about the menu. We had the romaine and spinach caesar salad and the steak frites, brussel sprouts, as well as the seasonal cheesecake which was apple caramel. Everything was delicious and the outdoor seating is beautiful! Our host Izzy was also super nice! Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to eat with kind staff.

This place is delicious! The vibe is calm and relaxed. Allowing you to fully enjoy your company, cocktails and food. The arugula martini was very tasty. The French onion soup, is a true French onion. The assorted bread with different butters were delicious and so was the pear dessert. I was so busy enjoying it, that I can't remember the name of it. Definitely a must go to again!

This is one of the best restaurants in town. The food is fantastic, and the service, too. Their new back patio is such a beautiful space. It's a family-friendly restaurant even though it's upscale. They have a kids menu and offer coloring books for the kids.

The Bistro 112 is a lovely gem of a restaurant in Shepherdstown, WV! I have been here a few times now with friends and the food has been wonderful every time! (I've included photos of food and desserts from a couple of different visits) The servers have always been delightful and always go above and beyond to be helpful, warm, and welcoming. They have both indoor and outdoor seating available and both options are wonderful!

Stopped in for a Sunday lunch. Turkey BLT was incredible; enough for a 2nd meal for me!

We were happily surprised. Bistro 112 is housed in a very interesting building in historic Shepherdstown that underwent updates a couple of years ago. There are nooks and crannies, semi-private spaces for up to 10, a patio (with warmers and fire pits this winter) and charming decor and dishes. The menu is a delight to read and brings back fond memories of meals in Paris. The $10 crock of French Onion Soup is to die for and you should stop what you are doing right now and make a trek to Shepherdstown, WV. Not on the menu, was the oversized portion of Pappardelles au lapin braisé, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. The vegan, gluten free options (around 6) were a surprise. I ordered the mushroom tartlet with asparagus and herbs. We ended the meal with yet another "special"--a homemade cinnamon roll with nuts and a tasty cream cheese glaze. The coffee was perfect. (Again: think Paris). Our hostesses, Izzy and Avery, and server, Bree, catered to our every whim. We will return.

Love this place for so many reasons. It’s quaint with friendly service and delicious food and cocktails. Love the smoked fish dip and the roasted chicken. It may sound odd, but the arugula martini is delicious!! I’ve enjoyed brunch lunch, and dinner here and always leave happy and looking forward to my next visit.

Breakfast at the Bistro 112 is always first class. My wife ordered the escargot which was very tasty. My son and sister-in-law ordered the egg white frittata. It takes a little time for quality food like this. I had the French toast which was a little crispy. We will return in a couple of weeks.

I’m so very glad I gave the reopen of this gorgeous French restaurant a second chance because they knocked it out of the park! Wednesday was half price bottles of wine (oui!), bubbling escargot and delicious bread to start, and trout and tuna dishes that were so good! Will def be back. Merci!

Absolutely wonderful dinner at Bistro 112. The food was great, especially the lamb shank, trout, and the bread basket. The service was wonderful, and our waitress was very attentive. She made sure my grandma (who doesn’t have the best hearing or sight) knew what was on the menu and was very courteous to her.

We went there for brunch. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful without being intrusive. My husband had the Ahi Tuna Salad Nicoise and I had Oeufs Benedict, which the person who seated us recommended. Everything was delicious, including the arugula martinis. I forgot to photograph the peanut butter and chocolate tart, and the strawberry shortcake.

Such a great place and especially wonderful team! The crew made me feel extremely welcome and the bar was superb... try the arugula martini , it was unreal. The food was just as great. Will always recommend this place!

I had lunch at Bistro 112 yesterday and it did not disappoint. I ordered the guacamole burger with bacon and a side of fries, and everything was excellent. The burger was cooked perfectly — juicy, flavorful, and stacked just right. The guacamole added a fresh, creamy layer that paired incredibly well with the crispy bacon. It was one of those burgers where every bite just works. The fries were hot and crispy with that perfect golden crunch on the outside and soft center inside. The atmosphere felt relaxed but polished, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a great meal without feeling rushed. Definitely looking forward to going back. If you’re in Shepherdstown and craving a really well-executed burger, Bistro 112 is worth the visit.

I always go to this place if I want to treat someone to a unique and high quality meal. This restaurant offers delicious classics while also encouraging the customerbase to be exploratory with food. They offer vegan and gluten free options in varying price ranges, and their servers take allergies very seriously. Our server tonight was extremely diligent about checking for my allergens and I felt truly safe eating there. I only took away one star due to the tight space in the dining area. The atmosphere has a well decorated and cozy ambiance, and if you don't mind sitting close to people while eating your meal this restaurant is a perfect place for both special occasions or if you just want a drink and a good meal.

1st timers, dining for our Anniversary. When it comes to restaurants-we are unusually not impressed, or will receive such poor service that will deter us from ever consider returning. This was definitely NOT the case @ Bistro 112! The dishes were flavorful and presented beautifully! The atmosphere is welcoming and the decor just as you would imagine in a French Bistro-fresh and stylish. The outdoor dining courtyard is peaceful and perfect for relaxing! We had such a good experience, we purchased a gift card for our son & his bride who are also celebrating their wedding anniversary later this month! Thanks for a wonderful dining experience!

The escargot was fabulous and stayed hot well past eating all of them so the dipping of the baguette was perfect. My parents had the Steak tartar salad and they raved over it! Would highly recommended this French restaurant gem!

Amazing food and atmosphere. Chef Pauly puts his heart and soul into his food and his restaurant and it clearly shows. Such a wonderful hidden gem. Excellent service, wonderful wine list and all around great experience every time we’ve been. Oh, and did we mention the food so so good! We highly recommend.

Really good restaurant! Beautiful atmosphere, the staff is excellent. Always smiling and checking on us! It always makes a difference. They have a wonderful garden in the back and we had lunch there. The food is delicious, well made! Certainly will eat there again!

A wonderful gem located in this idyllic town! We had the French dip, Gouda Burger, Smoked Turkey Club and salmon & trout dip. All of it was delicious. The staff and vibe are so great. Definitely recommend!

Stopped in for brunch. Located in an old building, you dine in various small rooms on several floors. Nicely decorated. Tables are very close together- a fact that will prevent me from coming back for dinner as I hate crowded seating The person at the front door was less than welcoming. Our Server was pleasant, though overall service was slow. Overall, food was just ok, given the atmosphere, I had higher expectations - Home fries were incredibly salty, and very crisp. Poach egg was close to hard boiled, english muffin very tough to cut, french toast was barely coated with egg, and the jam biscuit was surprisingly tiny. What we ate: Eggs Benedict with hone fries French toast Jam biscuit Mimosa My rating rationale +1 Service +.5 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +.5 Value

What an amazing atmosphere at Bistro 112. We were seated in their outdoor area, which is beautiful. It felt like we were transported to a whole new place with a peaceful, refined garden feel. Definitely a higher class vibe. Tables are nicely spaced, giving plenty of privacy to each table. It was a chilly day, but they have heaters at each table, which worked well to keep us warm. Our server was kind and gave great reviews on what to order. We brought our 11 month old with us. They had a high chair and were accommodating of our needs with a baby. There was not a diaper changing station or room to change a baby in the very small bathroom, but the bathroom was clean and offered quality hand soap and lotion. The food was delicious, with many unique offerings. We loved that the bread basket came with three unique butters to try, and the knotted bread was PHENOMENAL. So flakey, soft, and delicious. We got seasonal veggies for the baby, which she enjoyed. I got the vegan rotini with marinara and added chicken. My husband tried the butternut squash ravioli. Both were tasty. We also got the seasonal cheesecake for dessert. It was delicious, although on the smaller side size-wise. Overall, a great experience.

Great food and fantastic service by the staff. The ONLY reason for 4 stars and not 5 is I ordered a dish to go, and it wasn't what I ordered when I opened it at home... Yes, it's on me for not checking, but honestly everything was so great during our dine-in experience, I had no reason to question it... plus it was packaged to go so well. Aside from that, the food was amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Beautiful, cozy little spot. Service was very friendly and efficient. The French onion soup was great. The duck was very good, but I should have ordered it Medium to give it a little more time to render fat and break it down a bit. Roasted potatoes we're great, the other sides good enough. The chocolate mousse also great!

Everything I was excited for about this place fell flat. Service was decent, but the room we were shoved into was cramped and damp. Food was subpar for what I was expecting and for the price. Platting was fantastic, but the taste just wasn't there. We waited quite a long time for our drinks.

This French style bistro offers straightforward but well executed cuisine in a cozy environment. A prix fix menu was available, but we were enticed by the regular menu. The salmon/trout spread was a welcome start. The knotted bread with a variety of butters, mentioned by other reviewers, was very tasty. The beet, goat cheese and grapefruit salad was perfect. We shared the steak frites and trout and enjoyed both (the outlet was tasty but chewy). The frites were shoestring and very good. The dark chocolate mousse made a nice ending. Sorry for the lack of pictures. In sum, a perfect country bistro experience and highly recommended for your stay in Shepherdstown.

Love this little bistro. The staff are pleasant and professional, and the atmosphere is delightful. Generally the food is exceptional. However, recently, I had a chicken and corn chowder which was quite disappointing. It contained a hearty helping of chicken, but absolutely no flavor. Spices - thyme, rosemary, oregano, parsley, salt and pepper - would have made this an exceptional dish.

Atmosphere- this was my first time here, I reserved a table for 1and was seated upstairs at table 26. The room had some diners when I arrived but I was alone in a dining space withon an hour of being there and I was placed at a very breezy emoty fireplace, i had to wrap my coat around me for the duration of my stay. I enjoyed the food immensely, was one of the best meals outside my home since living in this area. The escargot was fantastic, the chicken exquisite and the spiced chocolate macaron was an adventure of flavor! I paired Sancere with the meal and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend for one of the best meal adventures in the area! My only suggestion would be if there are single diners maybe consider sitting them in busier areas unless they specifically ask to not be. I came for my birthday and though I don't mind dining alone I ended up in a an empty dining room which eventually felt awkwrd for my server. Just a consideration Albeit I enjoyed and would highly recommend and come again as often as I can!

Beautiful building. Service was beyond reproach. We stopped in for a light lunch. Only edible bread in the bread basket due to over toasting to the extreme was the brioche knots. Butter selection was very nice. The escargot was cooked perfectly however was pistachio forward. I prefer more garlic and again bread was way over toasted. French onion soup was second best I've had however would prefer heated a little more. Steak tartare was very nice and tender but was somewhat underseasoned. We will return for a dinner.
