I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad and a bottle of water. The salad was full of dark fresh leafy greens, croutons, chicken and the dressing was fully tossed into the salad so I did not have to make a mess doing it myself. After tasting the grilled chicken I was even happier about my lunch. Great tasting food, great service and only about a 10 minute wait for fresh food.

Marianne South of the Border Burger is the best burger I’ve ever had in my life. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is great. Be sure to get an ice cream for the road- some of New York’s finest.

When it comes to hard ice cream it doesn't get much better than this. They usually have at least one or two flavors of low sugar ice cream as well, if you're into that sort of thing. I had the Chocolate Peanut butter cup and it was frickin awesome!

Best place to eat in Sherburne, if you ask me. Been going there my whole life. The ice cream is the best I've ever had & the softserve hasn't changed in over 30 years. Just as good as when I was a kid. Their burgers, fries, and chicken are pretty good, too!

I've been eating their sense I was a kid. It's one of those places you just want to hang out at because a lot of friends work there though high school. The food is always good not to mention the ice cream that everyone loves that brings you back just about every time you bypass it 😋. It's one of those places that you hope we'll always be around for generations to come. To sum it up all the locals just love it. Those who grew up with with this place and moved away when they come home to visit always stop by to visit and eat.

A very good selection of comfort dinner food, the theme of the menu is, I think, awesome. Their ice cream was limited when we went, they were out of the two flavors were shed for and the flavors they had left seemed, unbelievably, a little too sweet. A really good experience though, overall and for such a small town, definitely a jewel.

Best burger I have had in a very very long time. This is the last of the classic ice cream joints in the area. All the others in the surrounding countys have gone so downhill (mostly bought by downstate NYC people and driven to cheap ingredients and poor service). What you get here is NOT that. Quality food, great ingredients and great staff. Putting this place as my #1 burger in the tri-county area.

This little, old-timey spot is a sleeper. The outside is a little nondescript and if you blink you might miss it. If you have the chance, don't pass it up. Along with the vintage hamburger shack offerings there's more variety than one might think. The ice cream is superb and the sundaes come with the old standard nuts and cherry on top, but those are just the start! They serve pints/tubs of ice cream to go. Gilligan's is a place for all seasons with ample seating inside when the temperature dips and a classic drive-in during the warmer months. The timeless and the modern are all here, so there's fare for all diets and styles. Don't pass this place up, you'll be glad you didn't!

What a great little place! The locals love it. The lines are at times long, but don't let that discourage you because the staff is amazing. These folks are on top of their game. Their food was great and their ice cream is amazing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.

Gilligan's, NEEDS to be a HISTORIC LANDMARK! When going to/leaving Binghamton or Pennsylvania, we always make a obsessive stop for Gilligan's. Never have we selected a ice cream, that's out-of-stock. And we order something different each visit. The inside, to most, may seem nothing fancy, and is very typical small-town diners, which can have better food than those over-rated fancy restaurants. Need a meal, they've got an entire menu. Ice Cream, is the most popular, all four seasons. The staff(The Gals), is always busy and very considerate. Public restroom, is kept clean, and the kitchen area, where all the ice cream is, is very sanitary. Three important factors to have returning customers. I find that average & below average Google reviews, are customers whom have poor attitudes and a general "I hate the world," moral. Ya stop-in at Gilligan's, ya just can't give'em a bad review when you taste the ice cream. Outstanding. Tasteful. Prompt. Welcoming. Devoted. Best-of-all: Ya cannot possibly miss the location. It's on Main Street. Just make sure you are attentive and obeying the speed limit. You'll get a ticket for going more than 5 mph over the posted speed limit.

As a Vermont vegan I search high and low for ice cream wherever I go...this place has some of the best vegan ice cream in North America! Their flavors are robust and their vegan ice creams are creamy from start to finish. A medium cone of this quality will cost easily double or triple in most places. A welcome treat oasis in upstate NY. Wahoo!

Very nice food. I feel the price of there food might be a bit high for what you get, but not insane. The ice cream is the main attraction though and is amazing, if you go you have to get ice cream. Great selection of flavors and good prices on the ice cream. The staff is usually young, I’m thinking high schoolers, and often make small mistakes, but I haven’t had any really bad experience with them.

I bought a medium twist. This thing was HUGE, delicious and only cost $3.78! I recently bought a "medium" twist from an Oneida ice cream parlor and it was $5, she gave me the wrong flavor, and it was the size of a baby cone! Literally 3 licks and it was gone! I will definitely be frequenting Gilligans many times this summer!

Milkshake is absolutely perfect. Burger is done on demand, very tasty. Ice cream and old school drive thru food. Good place to stop on a trip or a Sunday afternoon. Would have taken photos but food disappeared, was so good.

Delicious and worth the wait. Go early before it gets too busy. All the burgers and ice cream sound delicious and, frankly, are delicious. Do know that the burgers seem to be made to order and when combined with the drive through might take a while. The ice cream and burger menus are concise and straight to the point detailing what to expect. However, the ice cream menu's formatting made it quite difficult to read at times.

Summer, Winter, no matter the season. This fantastic establishment is a great stop for anyone traveling along the busy NY12. So many menu options for food and the hard ice cream is homemade and it is the best ice cream around. Along with the low prices and high amount you get for a serving you cannot compete. Even living an hour away I will definitely be making this trip more often than not.

Not just great homemade ice cream?! Wow! I stopped through while visiting relatives in the area. I've had their ice cream plenty of times: Our local ice cream shop actually sells some of Gilligan's homemade ice cream but haven't been to the main shop in Sherburne in a couple of years. When we would stop, it was for their yummy ice cream and milk shakes. This time, I was looking for an easy and quick dinner. I ordered a Mr Howell burger and fries for takeout and that was by far the best tasting burger I've had in a long time! Fries were great, too. No wonder the place is always busy with patrons when I would drive by. Definitely will be bringing my family there the next time we are in town!

We have been getting soft serve from the takeout window for years, I’ve been wanting to try a burger and fries. Today I finally did it. I ordered a Gilligan’s burger, large fries and a large vanilla malted shake. Tons of food! Hot and crispy fries, a shake that barely came through the straw, and the burger was well dressed with crispy bacon. All in for $20. The place is clean. The staff is super nice, and if they see your pups in the car, there are dog biscuits too! Highly recommend this place and I will be working my way through the menu as we travel through Sherberne.

This is Sherburne New York's best kept secret. A Hometown Ice cream shop that has many great flavors of ice cream and great food also. They constantly do fundraiser for there community to give back. Check out the many flavors in photo. In our last trip in March of 2019. We found a reason to go there 5 of the 6 days we were there. Yes it's that darn good.

Good lunch/dinner food at decent prices, but their ice cream steals the show. A lot of their own flavors plus some others. Outdoor seating, but a touch cramped inside. If you have a party larger than four, expect to span two booths. Bathrooms are usually pretty clean.

I so wish this place would expand. It is often packed right to the gills with people. The drive-thru is equally long and cuts through the parking lot, which makes it virtually impossible to leave. If you've taken a parking spot. There's no two ways to go out of this place has got to expand. Otherwise the food is great. Service could be better

Great place for a burger and milkshake... but seems always slightly unorganized and there is always something incorrect with order. Need someone to manage the flow behind the counter better during service time as lots of unexperienced young high school girls. Work well just not organized and could flow a lot better.

An old-timey ice cream place/ diner with indoor seating, drive-up service, and walk-up window service. The ice cream ranks up there as amongst the best in Upstate NY.

Gilligan's always has good food and interesting specials. Their home made ice creams are great. So, why not 5 stars? The wrap special I got could have been put together better, all the vegetables on one side, all the meat and cheese on the other.

This place was great. I had two problems the first is the seating area is small for a large family like mine. We took up most of the seating alone. The second is it was hard to hear when or number was called. That was more of an us thing really but hey, still there it is. The staff was outstanding and very accommodating. They were working together like a well oiled machine.

Staff was friendly but a bit scattered due to it being 20 min from close. The family and I weren't disappointed at all with the ice cream! The sizes were a bit wonky though. Be sure to ask how many scoops go on a large cone (it was 6 it looked crazy).

I've lived in Sherburne most of my life and have eaten at Gilligan's probably a hundred times. The food and ice cream very rarely disappoint and during the week and non peak times it is a great place to sit down and have lunch. When it is busy though you might go crazy waiting to get your food. There is typically 3 people working up front and they are all busy scooping ice cream. There will be times where there are 10 plus people in the drive through, outside window and standing inside and the wait is agonizing. I cant tell you the amount of times I have called ahead and was told 15-20 for my food, only to sit/stand in line for 25 minutes when I get there. Nobody likes their food cold when they pick it up. I beg the owners to do something different. Like I said, I love the food but I'm growing tired of the wait.

Our food was really good and they always give us large serving, I can never eat it all. They make their own ice cream which is very good. It seems that when we eat in we do better. When we do the drive-thru the never get the order right and it is such a hassle the go inside to get it straight.

I always like the food here. The service is always good. Decent prices. Very popular place because of food & ice cream. If u can't have lactose, the Strawberry Sorbet is awesome! Can eat outside or in; however, if u dine inside 2 stay away from insects, not going 2 happen. Because it's such a busy place, the doors r constantly being opened. U may have 2 fight of a fly or 2!

I would normally give Gilligan's 5 stars, because the food is consistently delicious. They have the best burgers, surpassed only by their amazing ice cream. Workers are exceptionally friendly, takeout is ready quickly, and special requests are accommodated easily. They give back to the community, a definite plus.

Great food! The daily specials are fantastic and wallet friendly. The place is BUSY when the weather is nice out. Be patient and respectful to the staff when it is crazy!

Prices are decent. It took about 20 minutes to get our food. Employees were very nice. Sherburne has a dog food production plant, and you do smell it when you're outside.

1st time there was highly recommended, but felt disappointed by the burger me and my wife had. I ordered medium, she order medium rare both burgers were well done. You would think that a place that makes a point on there menu and when you order how you want your burger cooked would at least come close. The quality of the meat was good and was a good burger overall would of been very good. The savior of the visit was the ice cream very good portions and very good quality.

I wish this place was more consistent :( When it's good it's really good, but for us it's hit or miss and we order the same thing every single time. We're creatures of habit like that lol Today I got literally 1/2 the size of the chicken they normally put on the sandwich. First time ever I got a very bad meal from this place , normally I give this place 5 stars or even higher stars but the night of sept 29 it was Terrible. The 4 orders of burgers were cooked wrong, the four orders of ff were like way over cooked ( we are talking about hard as Rocks) and I also paid for ex mayo for ff and did not get it . Which I guess was fine because all of us Fed the wildlife on the way home with just the fies. Than another Customer saw that I was waiting for a long time and she asked if I was forgot and than they did not even know what or where my order was . So I give the girl my recipe back so she could find my order and than when I got my order I asked for receipt back and the other girl Throw my receipt in the trash or something. So the Original girl wrote me a handwritten receipt which is not what I wanted but it was what I got .

My husband, three kids and I have made Gilligan’s part of our weekend. We get lunch or dinner and ice cream. It’s usually tasty. Last time we went, the college kids from Colgate ruined our experience with their loudness and entitlement. This time, our food was not even warm. Stone cold. And this was after I waited at least a half an hour. I went up to check on it because they weren’t busy, was told it was almost done, and then it was literally ice cold. I’m rethinking our weekend tradition. It costs us $55 for a cold dinner.

Food is really good when they make the correct thing you ordered.. All kids working there and when I tried to tell them that they gave me the wrong burgers they told me it was there mess up but wouldnt remake us the food. Instead just gave us the burboun sause for our normal burgers instead of just making the correct thing. Would have gave a better ratting if staff was better. Especially when your taking someone there from out of state because you recommended it.

My wife and I have been going to Gilligan's usually once a weekend for a burger, fries, soda, and ice cream afterwards. We often order one of their liquor flavored cakes for a party. It's a nice treat going there. The caveat is....that when you order a burger you are asked to pull to the parking lot and one of the young girls brings the order to your car. It seemed that over the past several months the food was coming out cold. A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I waited for 40 minutes for our meal. I finally drove over to the window to see where our order was. The young girl asked if I had an order number....they never give an order number or receipt. I told them that if they could not supply the food, that I would want my money back. After all, $27.00 for two burger meals is no bargain. I was told that the girl who took our order went home and did not tell anyone. They asked that I park and they would bring out a new order. They did, in a timely manner, and refunded our money besides. Now, I would of never have brought this up except, yesterday my wife and I went there and ordered our usual. We waited again about 40 minutes. I was just about to go back to the window, when the girl came to my car with our order. She must of drew the short straw to be the one to bring us our meal. She appeared distraught as she handed it over and hesitantly told us that our order was misplaced. So now for $27.00 we had a COLD burger and fries....hardly appetizing on a cool fall afternoon. The owners of Gilligan's are hard workers. I am sure that they would not want their customers treated this way. I implore them to be more aware of their employees actions and hopefully implement a system from preventing this from happening again. If I was to have another incident such as this, I would think my business with Gilligan's would be in jeopardy.

The Buffalo chicken sub was just chicken tenders, topped with cheese, lettuce, and ranch... disappointed. I asked the girl on the phone if the onion rings were breaded or battered, and she replies " I honestly don't know" and never answers. After seeing them I understand why she may have been confused as they were the most sickening things to look at, and not in a good way. They were dripping oil, soggy and very thick onions, burnt in only a few spots, and the crust oddly just slid right off. Huge disappointment as I absolutely love onion rings. The curly fries are honestly just the same as Arby's. For spending almost 30 dollars on a dinner for my partner and I to spilt it was utterly disgusting. I would have been better off putting my tenders on a hot dog bun.... *Update: stopped in for ice cream and ended up throwing it away and getting a refund due to their being hair and other objects in it, pictures posted*

I will not be going there again. Worst meal. My fish was soggy and cold fries were cold. The tarter sauce was warmer than the fish. A great disappointment in this restaurant. The was also a very loud whistling noise and the radio was static. All in all not a good experience tonight.

Very upsetting that it took over 1/2 hour to get a hot dog and fries. We ordered inside. The place was very dirty. Cobwebs and dust hanging over the freezers where they dip the ice cream from. They did offer us a free ice cream but we did not get it due to the filth. We always enjoyed stopping here but don't think we will be back. Dust and dirt so bad I was choking on it. My dog liked the food.
