⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem With Heart – Chuy’s Baja Grill, Simi West Review by Aaron G Beebe owner of GonnaHappen I visited Chuy’s Baja Grill in Simi West with my friend Monica, and the experience was unforgettable for reasons far beyond the food. Monica spent over 20 years as a well-known Hollywood publicist, and back when I was just getting started she introduced me to so many incredible artists — Armored Saint, L.A. Guns, members of Scorpions, NAMM events, red carpets, Safe Passage, and countless musicians and industry people. She’s opened doors for me with so many people for me. Recently, Monica was diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s been a tough time, and we decided to go out for a simple meal to enjoy a moment together. Chuy’s treated us with so much kindness and warmth that it honestly meant more than they know. The food was fantastic — fresh, flavorful, and way above what you expect from a “hidden gem.” The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was genuine, and everything just felt comfortable. For Monica, it was a much-needed break. For me, it was a reminder of how important friendships are and how much a good meal and good people can lift someone’s spirit. Thank you, Chuy’s Baja Grill, for giving us such a beautiful experience during a difficult time. We’ll definitely be back. 💜 #ChuySBajaGrill #SimiWest #HiddenGem #SupportLocal #Friendship #BreastCancerAwareness #GonnaHappen #AaronGBeebe
Best service ever had such a great time amazing meal and be sure to stop by and see Bianca best bartender ever drinks are wonderful 😊
Chuy's is a great place to hang out, enjoy good Mexican food and hear live music on the weekends. They often have Mosaic play live for several hours on Saturday nights.
Chuy’s has really stepped up. They are redoing the whole outdoor patio, brand new bar installed, digital menu, extensive cocktail menu, 5 different fresh salsas at the salsa bar, wire chip baskets (no longer red plastic baskets), real ceramic plates, dishes, and silverware (no longer plastic plates/utensils). They nachos were fantastic as was the (juicy and fresh) grilled half-chicken meal. Compared to the Chuy’s of five years ago I had no idea I was walking into the same place. Glad I tried it again.
Memories from going in Moor Park as kids, and confirmed this is a continuation of the same place! Win! The vibe is awesome and definitely liked by locals. The food was delicious, well-priced, and fresh. margaritas did not disappoint! Service was super nice and quicker that 99% of places I've eaten, including fast food! We'll be stopping by whenever we're in the area!
We went to see an old friend's band - honestly, I hadn't thought of Chuy's for ages (used to go to there on Sunday HD rides) back in the day. Everything was Great! The Food, Drinks, Vibe & Service was excellent - as was Gary and the Black Canyon Band (I even danced.) Now we are in the process of planing my hubs 60th featuring a Jam style Band of Longtime Musician Friends! And have the Simi Chuy's at the top of the list.
Happy Hour at Chuy’s was great. My coworkers and I had a great time.
Love Chuy's style of restaurant. Food decent, beer cold, fast friendly service.
Great drink specials. Great food. Awesome staff. They have live bands most weekends. A trivia night. And more...

I always get the same thing when I come here for lunch. Salmon meal is the best and so is their friendly service and bar area.
Went there tonight and I had the best experience...the ladies which take your order are so friendly and awesome customer service. Drinks were great! Food was delicious and came quickly. And most importantly all staff came kept coming to our table to make sure we were happy! I'm totally big in customer service and all staff went over and beyond! Bonus... great bands on patio! Check them out!
Overall, the food was great! The lunch menu is good value. However, this was something odd to me: I came here for lunch and after I initially ordered something, I changed my mind and ordered something else, paid, and then when I looked at the receipt, it had both items. It seemed odd to me that the cashier would think I would want 2 lunch entrees, and so when I asked to remove the first one because it was a mistake, she said no. This was before I received my food and right after payment.
I think this place has a new owner. We rolled, ordered our usual, and low and behold they gave us actual glassware for our margaritas. Then the food came and it was on actual plates. Even had a little basket for my fries and a sizzling plate for the fajitas. The food was ever so slightly different. A little blander, but has bigger proportions. The band was ok, just too loud for my liking.
Went a couple of weeks ago. Food was amazing! Drinks were big and strong. The service was probably the best I’ve had in a long time. The kids and other staff working there are so friendly and helpful. They gave my daughter a balloon which she loved. Manager came by. Everything was great. First time there. Coming back tonight.
Best food 😋 And I tried many food places

We were there for a stop after cruising. The appetizer were good. You order and pay the food is brought out to you. Cool hang out spot for drinks and to watch sports.

Looks like a great place for drinks. Dinner not as much. Coleslaw was awesome. Mahi was a bit dry and tasteless. Rice tasted parboiled and had a sweet tomato sauce. The fajitas were a better choice. Beans were ok.

Overly priced sandwhich, chicken breast should be more then a very thin cut ,and my wife had a lunch special sandwich which the half was really close to a quarter size sandwich.I haven't been to Chuy's in years ,used stop by the Valencia store.Sorry never will I stop by Chuy's again and I would strongly suggest looking for a better sandwich ....maybe the Hat which is around the corner...good luck and have a great day
Oh Chuy's how you have changed! My favourite mesquite fish taco is twice as much money and much less taco. $7.00 al carte taco!! My favourite chicken wings with the horseradish dressing are no longer there. They taste just like the same buffalo sauce every one else uses. The wings were under done and they did not look like happy chickens as the bones were shredding. The salsa bar has no chips as I assume they cost money too. My favourite red sauce that they used to have in the squeeze bottle at the salsa bar is no longer there. I am sad to say that, it's likely my last visit to Chuy's as the prices are very high for the quality and size of food we had. $35.00 for lunch and that was with some Happy Hour football prices.

Went in for happy hour on a taco Tuesday. Ordered a 24 oz marg, they brought it out in a smaller glass. When I asked she said she made it a double in a smaller glass. The fish tacos ordered off the happy hour menu were really small. Terrible happy hour. Still searching Simi ...
They don't know how to make a spicy margarita. They're not properly cleaning & storing their pour spouts for liquor. Can't get your own chips anymore, and the salsa bar doesn't indicate anything about the different options (spice level, ingredients, etc.) Birria tacos were good, nachos were good too. While we were eating, a couple came inside with their two dogs. Both dogs were being fed food from the table, the small one sat in the booth, and the larger of the two dogs was under the table but shook multiple times as we watched all the hair fly off it's back. They should have been asked to sit on the patio. Thank goodness we were basically done eating at that point. Then trying to close out, the cashier was having a hard time calculating how to break a large bill. It took a while and she had to be told how to break it up and then how much to give back. Staff were very nice and attentive but I don't know if we'll be back unless the cleanliness factor is addressed.

Absolutely horrible, will never eat anything ever here again. I live in town, and want yo like Chuy's. I've ordered the salmon tacos, --the salmon had worms. Yes worms, no not fat or connective tissue. I let that pass because they can't control that. However, last night was the last straw.. ordered tri-tip /chicken combo plate. The chicken leg and thigh piece were old and dry. The thigh portion was small and just bones. I sent it back. $20 should get me at least half a breast and a leg. I got a slightly larger thigh as replacement. Lame. The chicken was barely lukewarm and flavorless. Whatever, its a sports bar. Then, i tried the tri-tip. I couldn't believe it. It was literally less then room temperature, and blood raw. Important: I never specified rare/medium/ or well because tri tip is usually medium unless you request otherwise. It was , I'm not kidding, like 70° meat. I sent THAT back. The cook put it on the flat iron for maybe 30 seconds. It was absolutely devoid of any seasoning. I rarely add salt or pepper to a steak. I was desperate, and you guessed it.... No salt or pepper shakers at any of the tables. My once-lukewarm steak was dying again. Having to ask for basic seasoning, I finally just ate the meat. It also tasted old. The girl asked me if everything was ok. I was nice, but honest and said it was awful. She aplogized, did her best, but I still got billed full pop. Like I said, I want to like the food, but after multiple fails, I give up. Vallarta is the next parking lot. Just go there. DO. NOT. EAT. HERE.
