We eat here regularly, and, when hosting at home, we order many of their delicious appetizers to share with guests. Great food, professional service- this restaurant is a gem!

The food was out of this world. absolutely amazing. i got the mussles with red wine and mushrooms, moussaka, saganaki (to die for) and a great watermelon drink! Jack was amazing and made the experience perfect. I will be back!!

This review is for Alexandros in SMITHTOWN. My husband Frank and I have been to the new location at least 5 times. We eat out pretty often since we also own a business and all of our kids are now adults. I must say we are foodies. We travel a lot and we really enjoy good food and will go wherever for it. The food at this location is amazing! We are so happy to have found a restaurant within a half hour (as we live in Mt Sinai) that is upscale, serves fantastic food (excellent quality) has a beautiful bar to sit at, have drinks, meet with friends or have dinner at the bar as well. The staff... lets begin with Bill. What a gentleman! The only place we see hosts like this is in Queens or Manhattan. He is so friendly, and professional! He always takes a moment to say hello- never ignores anyone. He welcomes everyone i to the restaurant, and is always dressed in a jacket, making the restaurants first site look classy. Kelly and Rocco at the bar are so great! Two if the nicest, most professional bartenders around. Always welcoming, so friendly, always taking a moment to have a conversation. . This past weekend, we also had the pleasure of meeting Chrissy an Randy who i believe are also partners in smithtown. What a beautiful couple with a wonderful family so very friendly. We want to wish all of you much success and prosperity at this location as the food is fantastic as well as the service in the atmosphere. I hope it becomes a local destination for everyone. As long as they find a seat for Frank and I at the bar when we come in- lol good luck to everyone at Alexandros and Smithtown you deserve all the prosperity at this beautiful friendly location. Alexandros, I've always driven by but was looking for a local Mediterranean restaurant and this came up in maps. I was more than delightfully surprised and it just so happens that they have a Muscles Monday dinner. The pesto muscles was my favorite. Could have kept going too but I was satisfied after one refill. For each refill you can change the style of muscles.

Food is incredible and worth the price. Had fish specials the last two times and they always do a great job. The drink specials from the bar are always top notch as well.

Went there tonight for dinner and sat at the bar!! Jamie was bartending!!! She's the best! Makes wonderful drinks!! I ate the grilled salmon with broccoli....hands down the best meal I've had in a while!!!

Food was delicious. The relaxed service allowed for an enjoyable evening over food, as opposed to the often found "just eat and leave" atmosphere. That was quite lovely. Music was borderline too loud where we were sitting. Probably better farther out on the terrace. Absolutely nice service staff!

Amazing Greek food and service. Everything is so delicious, and tasty drinks, too. Can have off nights, but one of the best restaurants in the area. Great specials. Lovely ambience. Outdoor seating is comfortable and spacious.

This place has it all. Sterling staff, attentive and gracious owner, and a menu that is fantastic. Daily specials, and I would put their steaks up against any steakhouse. An excellent cocktail selection and local craft beer on draught. I work in the hospitality industry and have been into literally every restaurant on Long Island. Alexandros is hands down the best.

This was our third or fourth time here. Sat outside in the back. Waitress was great. It was Wednesday so we had the fixe pris menu options. There were six of us. We had everything from swordfish to steak, Greek pizza, Mustafa, calamari etc etc. Good sized portions and a great family atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

First of all, the atmosphere to the outdoor dining was really wonderful! With the exception of the yellow jackets, LOL. The service was wonderful, the food was delicious! I do not eat hummus and I tried their fresh hummus. Absolutely delicious! The muscles were out of this world! As was the shrimp cocktail and crab cakes. The cocktails were to die for! The Athena Martini was delicious dot-dot-dot the right amount of tart and the right amount of sweet. I would definitely recommend this place!

Went for dinner with my wife after a long day. We shared a salad and then I had grilled Scallops and my wife had The Salmon. It was cooked perfect.

Went here for my cousins fiancees birthday the other night. Party of 9 we were altogether. Food was delicious from start to finish. Food came out fast and orderly. Everything was the right temp I was impressed at how easily they pulled it off. Very friendly staff as well. Would absolutely eat there again, highly recommend!

I have gone to all you can eat events and I always feel like there will be a hustle. They only kept them coming, staff was so friendly. I loved the waitress and the bartender. When i couldn’t eat anymore , they let us take the rest home! Never have I had an experience like this at an all you can eat! This is one of those moments you don’t want to tell anyone about because there will be only too many people coming here. SO GREAT! SO TASTY! I ate so many and am now up at 530 eating the rest just because!!! Btw, we didn’t even get alcohol. But the bartender was so awesome and friendly. Lol! We will be back. Thank you

One of my favorite restaurants. The food, staff and ambience are fantastic! I've been many, many times. I have never had anything on the menu that I didn't love. Their own spin on hummus, which they serve you with fabulous pita, is terrific. The mussels are great. The grilled octopus is special. Great drinks too.

I came here for vegan night and the food was phenomenal! Good pricing for what you get, friendly servers and staff, and a beautiful wide variety of dishes. The vegan version of "meat" that they make tastes amazing and you wouldnt be able to tell the difference honestly.

We had a great dinner there. I got chicken kebabs and a salad and everything was delicious. The music was so loud (I’m not that old, I swear 😂) at first that we couldn’t yell over it, but they did kindly turn it down a little when we asked. Will definitely go back!

Very good food, fairly large servings, wonderful wait-staff. Most importantly (to me at least) Trans Friendly <3(at least in my experience) For any other trans people who may want to know the bathrooms are not stalled, so no awkwardness of a stalled restroom. To my knowledge the only difference is the men's has a urinal in it, right next to the toilet.

Went to Alexandros tonight in Mt Sinai for dinner tonight. It was sooo good. Staff was so nice, food was amazing, atmosphere was great. My husband got the lamb chops, i got a greek salad with gyro meat (well done bc that’s the way i love it) and my kids got grilled chicken and fries. Everyone ate every bite! Don’t know how I haven’t been here sooner when it’s 3 mins from my house!

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. From the service and food to the atmosphere, this place is top notch. How they decorated the entire restaurant, inside and out with an abundance of flowers and greenery, it is absolutely necessary to grab a table out back under a canopy flowers or a couch in their outdoor lounge area, there truly is not a bad seat in the house.I was blown away at how beautiful the ambiance was. I've been here several times before this and it truly never disappoints. Jack is the Michael Jordan of server's with his menu knowledge and overall personality. I'd go back 100 times just to have him pick me out what to order.. I'm in the restaurant industry for 25 years and when I say he's a master of his craft, he truly is. Everything we ordered was cooked to absolute perfection and I can't wait to go back again! Friendliest staff overall and even the other patrons were super nice too, we spoke to everyone we sat next to. It's so nice to go somewhere where people are polite and friendly. Everyone needs to go check this place out, you won't be disappointed!

Been here many times and most recently was last night with three of my mussels eating friends and we all dod the All You Can Eat Mussels. Every bowl had fresh mussels and they all opened. I turned the car around because the sign said "dollar oysters." Worth every second doing so and every penny. Apparently this is a Tuesday special and if you're not into oysters, they also do clams. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Cassie, the bartender was friendly, super efficient and convinced me into 10 more oysters after my initial order of 15. They were cold and fresh, and came with all the fixings. Their mingonette was all I really needed. I saw a few other dishes coming out of the kitchen and they all looked great. A few folks at the bar got some healthy looking pours and the mussels smelled divine. Totally worth stopping in.

This is an amazing restaurant. The atmosphere is fun and lively. But the food was absolutely exceptional. I had the swordfish and it was incredible on top of fresh pasta. Compliments to the chef. The bartender was super friendly and the cocktails were just as good as the food..

The ambience was amazing. We came here to celebrate my daughter's first talent show 🙌. The food and service (shoutout to Alyssa [I hope I spelled your name right!]) were top tier. We sat "outside" and the decor makes you feel like you're sitting in a beautiful forest. The food was beyond delicious as well (I don't remember exact titles but....we had white wine mussels, lemon chicken soup, lamb chops, salmon, lemon potatoes and skirt steak with an awesome chimichurri sauce). We'll be coming back for more. --- didn't get to take pics of everything...it left the plate before I could take a pic.

Really enjoyed dinner here. Plus you can bring your own wine.

Can’t say enough about this place. As a local, we visit monthly and it never disappoints. It’s truly a family-run business with a genuine passion for hospitality. My favorite dish is the skirt steak, but I’ve never had anything I didn’t enjoy. The extra-dirty martinis are always on point, and if you like a little heat, I highly recommend the spicy mango margarita. From service to food, everything is excellent.

Went at 8 pm on Saturday night. They were able to seat us immediately. Place was packed. I have driven past this place for years, thinking I don't know much about Greek food. Alexandro's is TO DIE FOR!!! I love going for a lunch with the girls and getting the Arugula & Burrata salad. Sometimes even with the deliciously marinated skirt steak added on top :) The lemon potatoes as a side are always just perfection, as well as the calamari appetizer. Don't even get me STARTED on the mussels. My personal favorite are traditional and curry, sooo flavorful and delicious. Any of those dishes paired with a Pool Party cocktail? You're in for a great meal on a great patio with great vibes.

She was amazing and so attentive to us, especially to my 85 year old mother. She was kind and patient and just did an outstanding job making us feel right at home. My friend and I finally made it to lunch here on Saturday March 29th around 2:30pm. We sat in the back which is an enclosed space outside and it was lovely as they decorated with silk flowers. Our waitress was very polite and quick, we ordered a bunch of dishes to share and also mixed drinks as it was a nice sunny day. The food was super tasty and very filling! We also got to enjoy some dessert. I did not use their restroom but the restaurant itself is very nice and well kept. I really enjoyed the entire experience and recommend it!

We received a warm greeting from the bartender upon entering. Already looking forward to our dinner for the first time at this establishment on a Saturday. Loved the pumpkin beer and specialty cocktail. The shrimp cocktail was super fresh. The main course of branzini was a little dry, and the mousaka was perfect. Only thing missing was an acoustic performer. Recommended.

Great food and atmosphere, some dishes were better than others, the octopus was a little on the chewy side however great taste. I will go here again.

Food was excellent, but they put us upstairs in what was like an attic which was very cozy, but difficult to access for older people. There was a party of over 10 people seated there who were extremely loud. The noise level was so loud, my wife and I had to almost shout to hear each other, we were sitting adjacent to each other. The restaurant is very cramped but a busy place.

Sweet little place that's worth the visit. I gave it 4 stars overall because of the prices. I'm very confused how 3 very different cuts of steak (strip, skirt, and filet mignon) are all the same price...but everything was delicious regardless.

Soft shell crabs advertised for the weekend. Only prepared one way with coconut . Would have liked a choice of sauteed also. Otherwise food was expertly prepared. Nice young capable staff, eager to please. Lovely outdoor area too

we wanted to love this place; the owner is so nice. but...food is truly inconsistent. sometimes it's good to very good and other times it's poor. example--tuna special on a beet salad with balsamic reduction was expertly cooked tuna on a can of beets, sliced with no seasoning and drowning in a cloyingly sweet balsamic vinegar sauce. we won't be back

It was pleasantly busy on a Saturday night at 8pm. There's seating at the bar, at tables in the bar room, in the main dining room, and there's a lounge area in the back. On Wednesdays they have Vegan Night with an expansive vegan menu. On other nights, they have a separate vegan menu that they will provide you on request with whichever items they have ingredients for that night. I was pleasantly surprised with the abundance of options, including the falafel stir fry. The falafel was spiced well and tasty. The fried rice was decadent but I would have enjoyed more vegetables in there other than just cabbage. The complimentary hummus and pita for the table was delicious. I would definitely return!

Been going there and the restaurant that Sam the owner had before for years. Food pretty good. Expensive. Owner never gave anything complementary to myself or anyone we know despite decades of patronage. Wake up Sam! UPDATE: Still remains one of the better choices around. Had dinner here on a Sunday evening, we dined in the outdoor area and loved the ambiance there, it’s super cute and decorated with fake flowers. Service was great, just the right amount of attentiveness. Food was good overall, we shared the burrata appetizer with watermelon and balsamic over arugula which was pretty good! I had the Greek salad and added grilled octopus. The Greek salad was one of the best I’ve had, really fresh and tasty. The reason I didn’t give the food 5 stars is because the amount of octopus you get for $20 is basically a tentacle, 2 would have been appropriate I think for that price even if they were on the smaller side! The octopus was really good but not worth an extra $20 in my opinion, so not a good value. My girlfriend had the chicken gyro which she liked and we shared her fries which were delicious, just the right amount of crispy and drizzled with feta cheese, probably my favorite thing to eat from here! Would definitely be back and enjoyed dinner here!

I find the food here quite good, and the Pasticio in particular. My point where iI DIFFER IS being charged a service fee for a credit card without being notified beforehand. A small note on the credit card slip doesn't do it. When you are charging premium prices for your entrees credit cards are the cost of doing business. I would have to say, 75 to 80 percent of your clientele use cards while dining here. And if you have to rely on card fees to survive, you're defeating your purpose.

Nice place and good location, overall enjoyed it. My greek salad with salmon was very good as were our soups my friend had filet Mignon which was good (not great), strangely the mashed potatoes tasted weird almost like soap or something got in there. Broccoli excellent, service good. Seemed rather expensive for what it was but would give it another shot.

Spent $88 for their special tomahawk steak that was tougher than the leather shoe I am wearing. Also it was very small, more ounces of bone than actual meat. They state it was prime but certainly didn’t seem to taste or look like it. The rest of the meals and appetizers were very good. Also the staff and waitress were great.

A+ for wait staff. The best hummus & grape leaves. Husband liked chicken entree & the mussels were fine. Inquiry about spices in my chicken sandwich (can't have paprika or cayenne pepper) revealed they use blend made by Lawry's, which gives everything a red tint?... I don't think of that as particularly Greek. This is an unfortunate trend in diners, etc. I've found that people who work in kitchens tend to get annoyed by spice inquiries & that may be what happened, but they did make me a plain chicken breast, which was very good.

The food was way too salty. I felt my pressure going up within a few minutes of eating and my rings were stuck on for the night. One of the things I ordered was the grilled octopus and there was only 1 tentacle. Not worth the price. The staff was nice and the atmosphere was upbeat.

What a cute little spot ! Had the best calamari ever! So delicious and savory with a lemon garlicky cream drizzle. A sangria tower is the drink to share! Their delicious gyros and parsley parmesan fries yummy. It’s a little tight but feels cozy. Great for a first date!

We like to explore new places. We picked Alexander's and placed our order, the waitress did not give us bread and butter in the beginning, and she forgot the avocado on the salad, the soup wasn't good. Food was overpriced.

The food is good, but the service that I received tonight was horrible. The waitress seem like she was miserable. She was not attentive probably came to our table twice. However, the food runner was super attentive. That is why I’m giving two stars for the food and the food runner.

I always hear good things from friends, but tonight was disappointment! Tangeray and tonic in a small rocks glass with all ice, $9! Mussel were fishy not fresh, moussaka served cold, special menu duck l'orange $10 more than duck on menu (roasted with Sheri sauce and mashed) mine was dry, overcooked/ deep fried and no sauce, roasted potato, no veg or salad. When pointed out to waitress just got shrug. Guess it was very off night. Too bad it was our first, will not go back. :(

Sooo disapointed in this place. Atmoshere dark and dreary. Waitress started off good but that slowly declined. There were 4 of us who felt ignored. Charged for a second cup of coffe instead of just refilling the cup..which was a tea cup size. The food was horrible. Not one person i was with had anything positive to say. We each paid alot of money to walk out completely disappointed! Save yourself time and money...Dont eat there!!

Disgusting food. Overrated reviews from friends of ours. We typically go to Spiros but heard such great things we had to try it. From the beginning, chick peas were dry and bread was mushy. Spanakopita.....definitely frozen brand. Costco has better. Main course looked pretty, but definitely dull and boring. Very disappointed after hearing such great things. Nice atmosphere though.

Ordered door dash for 3 gyros of which no sauce was provided also chicken gyro had nothing on it no tomatoes or onion. Expensive take out for huge disappointment. Had to go out of my way which was the whole point of doordash. There should be a way the restaurant can or will rectify the order at their cost after the fact to make the delivery satisfactory. Unfortunately sorry didn't make our meal any better.

Hostess was rude and unprofessional. A bunch of kids work there and they are more concerned with getting the restaurant closed on time so they can go home and scroll on social media than work the potential business. I feel sorry for whoever owns this place and hired some of the staff. I’m shocked this place has been in business this long.

I have been here before and it's hit or miss with the service. Just came back, we had reservations for 4:30 and ordered pretty quickly. The restaurant was basically empty, only 2 people at the bar. Our salad took 40 minutes to arrive. Waitress never checked in to explain why it was taking so long. This will be our last visit.

Party of 12. Been here for 2 hours. Still no food. Not even close to enough staff. Problem is no one is here but us. Is this a joke??? With these prices you ought to be able to provide service. Otherwise, consider keeping your doors shut. Owner came out and saw the issues and decided to stay out of it. Offered a free dessert but still charged the 4% credit card fee. Will not be coming back here again

Have been going there for years. But last time I went ordered the chicken lemon orzo soup and noticed it tasted different right from the first sip, as I have it every time I go there. The waiter (manager) said he had it for lunch and it was delicious, so I finished it. I barely made it home before I got sick and began vomiting and then diarrhea. It continued for the next day. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager, and that's when I found out that my waiter was also the manager. I told him what happened and he remembered me stating that the soup tasted off, and I even canceled my take home order of soup. He said the Owner would call me back and that was 2 months ago, and still no call from the owner, so either the manager never told him, or the owner didn't care enough to make me feel comfortable about me and my friends going back there for dinner every 3 weeks. We have not been back since, they lost 4 good customers. If something doesn't taste right, don't rely on the staff, trust your gut, literally!!

We used to live across the street from the owners but had never tried this restaurant so my husband and I decided to give it a shot. It was a terrible disappointment. $14 for 3 stuffed mushrooms with no taste. Shrimp cocktail was supposed to be served with a mango cocktail sauce but instead came with jarred cocktail sauce. My husband ordered a steak gyro and the steak was so dry that he took one bite and that was it. My orzo soup was disgusting. The drinks were good! I guess the trick is to get drunk enough that you can’t taste the food. Never again!

Had 7 PM reservation. Seated at 8. Drinks by 8:30 apps by nine. Finished dinner 10:20. Not organized. They had 3 months to get it right. When asking when we will be seated told they had a table with no chairs. Great answer. Maybe Sam should offer a drink or apology when you don’t get seated for an hour after your reservation. Watered down drinks. Mussels were excellent. Chicken with lemon potato’s so salty almost inedible. Salad ordered with lamb rare was very well done. Salmon was excellent. Been coming here for years but won’t come back.

Wow, this was my favorite restaurant. Was. I don’t know what happened to this place, everybody used to be cheery and happy. When I walked in, the hostess who couldn’t even lift her head, thought putting together the menus was more important, asked how many and If I wanted to sit inside or out. When I expressed to her outside, her next question was do you have a reservation, again, not making eye contact, but continuing to slip the paper into the menu cover. When I responded No, she looked at me and said I need to sit you inside because you don’t have a reservation. When I asked ,We can’t sit outside? Her response was no, those are reserved. My point is she didn’t try she didn’t look outside to see if anybody was ready to get up, she didn’t say it will be 15 minutes, do you want to have a seat at the bar? She didn’t do anything and looked shocked when I told her I would go somewhere else. I have frequented this restaurant many many times, but not anymore. Your customers are what keeps you in business. This restaurant is lacking in the customer service dept. where’s Jack?! He would have never let me walk out.

Reservation for 4 table was not available had to wait 20 minutes, what's the point if reservation? Matre'd then sat us next to crowded bar. I asked for another table which was away from bar in dining area being set up for 4 but was told for someone else which was unacceptable. Don't think individuals doing seating know what they are doing. Have been there many times before won't be returning.

It's been a couple of weeks since we had dinner at Alexandros. After our experience, we all just decided we were just not going to support Alexandros anymore but the more I thought about it, I decided to share what we experienced and then leave it up to you... Alexandros is a good local restaurant with good food and service that my family and friends had frequently picked up from or would dine in. There were 3 couples in our group. We had drinks, appetizers and a lovely dinner. Alexandros is not bashful with their prices. The main courses we had were between $35-40 and when the $450 bill came, in very small print it stated; "we will be adding an additional 4% to your total for use of a credit card". I went to speak with Sam (the owner) about this and all he had to say was that he has a $4,000-$5,000 monthly bill from the credit card companies, many businesses are now doing this and he cannot afford to absorb. As I mentioned, they are not bashful with their pricing so I suggested that going forward he charge $2 more for the $40 fish I had and call it a day. Sam said that he could not do that and "it is what it is". Sam is entitled to run his business as he seems fit and we are entitled to frequent establishments that appreciate our business, offer cash discounts, will accept our personal checks or accept our credit cards without a penalty.

Advertised before dinner reservations on Saturday night and advertised after we left. “$30 all you can eat” mussels. Sat down at the table with our 8 o’clock reservation and they told us that they don’t do it on weekends. How about updating your website? The fellow they rolled over after the waiter gave us the bad news blamed it on the IT guy. I wouldn’t go back there if it was free for all you could eat. Wasted my evening, because I built my plans to be there for the $30 all you could eat.

the bartender served us tap water in our drinks when we asked for shots he served us water again, apparently he poured water in the bottles for practice shots. when i asked the manager if it could be taken off the bill she refused and said “we can’t serve you guys free drinks” but tap waters free in most restaurants? anyway then she proceeded to basically call my boyfriend an alcoholic and blame him for not tasting the alcohol in the tap water. If you like $40 tap water and rude management this place is for you👍🏽

Food was great and I have ordered for pick up in the past and LOVED IT - however dining experience was entirely different. Staff acted like seeing children in their restaurant was the worst thing they have ever seen. I didn’t see anywhere online that this wouldn’t be a family friendly restaurant, yet they immediately offered to seat our group outside, not only 1 but 3 different staff members immediately said the same thing after seeing us. Very unwelcoming, and honestly ruined however great the gyro was.

STAY AWAY from this restaurant. The food is horrible, and the service is rude and unprofessional. The owner Sam discriminated on me, embarrassed me in front of the whole restaurant, and threatened to punch me because he thought I was someone else who called his son a derogatory word the other night. He ended up telling me to come back from the parking lot when his son told him it wasn't me on the phone. He even called a friend cop on me that circled the parking lot. I actually know his son Alex, and I was with my wife there the night before having drinks and conversations about him going to law school since we both went to Hofstra. I was giving him friendly advice since my brother is a corporate lawyer. I was livid and in such awe that I contacted Sam directly, and still no apology. He ranted about his kiddie staff trying to close up one night and that I came out of my face for a last round. First off, their staff closes early just to get out quicker when he's not around, and they were suppose to close at 10PM & it was just 8:30PM. Also, that never happened, I have always been courteous, and I know everyone there. He's too prideful of a nasty old man to say sorry for the huge mistaken identity he he made. Did he really think I was going to hit a senior citizen in front of his staff, I have old grand parents his age. He's the lowest of the lowest of human beings, not even worth going to jail over. Almost though he was on the spectrum, felt bad for him. Anyway, I smell a defamation of character lawsuit coming along his way.
