We decided to have date night here. My wife has been here before and raved about the place. We’re from the Bronx and have a certain expectation for American Italian food. And I must say this place lived up to our expectations. The food was very tasty and a good portion. It was just right. The service was also very friendly and attentive. The place was packed and a little loud. But that just shows it’s a local favorite and I can see why. We’ll definitely be back.

Il Forno in Somers, NY, is a true gem that delivered an unforgettable meal. Owners Susan and Rick create a warm, welcoming vibe, making every guest feel like family. Bartender Jamie’s infectious energy and expertly crafted cocktails added a special touch to the evening. The 14 oz New York strip steak, cooked to a perfect medium-rare, was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, elevated even further by a perfectly paired Cabernet Sauvignon that complemented its richness beautifully. The bruschetta appetizer was vibrant and fresh, while the truffle fries with their incredible sauce were simply addictive. The chicken française was light and flavorful, and the family recipe rice pudding was a creamy, nostalgic delight. I highly recommend Il Forno and will be sending friends and family here for an exceptional dining experience.

Stopped here late on Saturday night. The food was great. Our server Nicole was great. The whole staff is genuinely concerned about your experience, and everyone is super attentive. Took some food home for our son. That was really super too. I am looking forward to coming back the next time we are close by.

I had my daughters bridal shower at Il Forno Kitchen & Bar this weekend and I can’t say enough about how terrific they are! Susan, the owner, was so amazing throughout it and the staff were so attentive and nice. The food was delicious. They set up all of the decorations I had and also packed it all up at the end for me. The guests were all saying it was the best bridal shower they have ever been to. Highly recommend!!

Most of us had not eaten there; bit of a wait to get in but the staff treated us so kindly, checked in regularly through the meal, made recommendations when asked, and just generally made sure we were comfortable throughout our evening. The food was very good, and the desserts were excellent. I'd seen a great photo of an Affogato from their business page, and even though it wasn't on the menu they were still willing to make it for me. Recommending and will likely be back.

Love this restaurant. I use to come here for luncheons when I worked in Somers some 20 years ago. Glad I had the opportunity to go back. Food is amazing, prices reasonable and in a charming building. Make a day of it by visiting the Elephant Hotel Museum within walking distance of the restaurant. Note: Museum only open Thursdays from 2-4.

Traveling Cosmos and Tacos

My favorite Italian restaurant in Somers! Affagato! Do I need to say more? The fig & prosciutto personal pizza, beet & goat cheese salad with grilled shrimp are my favorite on the menu. I decided to ask if they could make Affogato for dessert, although it wasn’t on the dessert menu. Sure! No problem! It was perfect! (See picture) Always a pleasant experience from beginning to end!

The Terpatraiters

A wonderful establishment based upon the experience my family had recently on a weekend lunch. The ambiance of the dining area is wonderful and there's a slight openness to the kitchen which brings patron a little closer to the chef. The appetizers were outstanding (the stuffed artichoke the clear star) and everything was prompt and came out fresh. Our server was wonderful and she made sure everyone got all of their items in a funny and attentive manner. The meals were all spot on with incredible flavor that truly tasted home cooked yet still balanced on being modern and sophisticated. You get great sized portions for what you pay and the food is simply great! No complaints anywhere around. Highly recommended and will be returning again!

Wonderful service, clean and well kept restaurant. Our waitress was kind and attentive and we could even see what appeared to be the owners or managers being very attentive to the customers as well. The food was so-so. Only thing I recommend is if you’re getting a glass of wine, specify what size glass you want. They have two options of sizes but only list the price for the smaller.

Just picked up an eggplant parmesan sub. Specifically asked them to toast the bread. When I opened up the dinner, the bread was soggy from all the steam locked into the plastic container. It hadn't been toasted either. French fries also soggy as can be! The amount of eggplant and cheese was minimal and tasteless. Cheap!!! Not generous. Completely disapointing. The side salad however was delicious.
