Came here with some friends for bottomless brunch. Every dish we ordered was insanely delicious and packed with flavor. My personal favorite was the chicken milanesa torta. The music in the restaurant was very upbeat, groovy, and had us dancing in our seats. The service could have been a lot better. When waiting to order more food, I had to yell “EXCUSE ME” very loudly to get a waiter’s attention. Aside from that little mishap, I highly recommend this place, especially for bottomless brunch.

I went for the first time for Sunday brunch with some friends. I enjoyed the decor and the food. Service was also great. However, for roughly $15 each there wasn’t much alcohol in any of the drinks. We went for the “bottomless brunch” which is only food in Massachusetts. We tried a number of dishes, the best were the tacos and the chicken and waffles. I also enjoyed the chilaquiles.

We came for mucho mania - 21$ of all you can eat menu. It has most of the place's dishes, but in tapas style (smaller and aimed to share). This was a great expression, we got to try many (actually, all the vegetarian) dishes, and in reasonable size and portions. Even without this special offer, their prices are fair and the food is delicious. I highly recommend their cocktails as well - all are well crafted, balanced and special. High value for you money. We would definitely come back. The only downside that I would mention is that it's a very loud place, and there isn't much to do about it.

Had a great date night here and plan to visit again this weekend for brunch! When we visited they were doing a poll for a new margarita flavor and had margarita flights available. I loved the watermelon passionfruit marg and I hope to see it again on the menu. For the food, the queso was delicious and each taco had its own unique flavor. The restaurant overall had a great ambiance for date night so I recommend bringing your dates here! Update: Went to brunch and was worth it!

Came for dinner on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Firstly, the guacamole was very delicious. However, $10 for seemingly a small serving for two is quite steep. On to the drinks, I tried to order an autumn sangria and it wasn't ready to be served yet (came here Oct 4th) so I ordered the apple mule instead. The apple mule is a sweet drink that would go well by itself. My boyfriend ordered the Smoke on Davis which was... gross lol. The smell is very strong and it tastes exactly the way the car section of Walmart smells.. tastes like tires idk how else to describe it. Anyways, the food was AMAZING!! Ordered the roasted squash enchiladas and they were perfect. Such a warm fall dinner and I would recommend everyone to try it at least once. The street cart chicken was amazing as well. The rice with it was so rich and buttery, the veggies were perfectly cooked, and the chicken was juicy and delicious. Another dish I would recommend for many to try. If you are looking for a slightly pricier and nicer dinner, this is the perfect place for it.

Really loved the decor and the overall atmosphere of the place! It’s rare to find a nice dine-in restaurant like this in Boston/Cambridge. I tried the short ribs and shrimp tacos, and both were delicious. The nachos were great too. I didn’t get a chance to take photos, but I’ll definitely be back. Very reasonable prices as well!

Fantastic new brunch, always love the food here. I've been here twice in 2 weeks because the food is so good. Order anything, it'll all be worth it. They don't mention that the items on the brunch menu are all small-sized, perfect for tasting. Pace yourself though, it's a lot of food! Get the iced coffee horchata, it's so good!

Went for the All You Can Eat Brunch deal this past weekend and it was such a wonderful experience! The service was fantastic, the food came fast, and the food itself was absolutely delicious! They make sure you are fed there, and I would 100% go back. Can’t recommend more!

The staff here are among the best in Boston. They were accommodating, helpful, and kind. The food here was great! The salsa is fresh, the chips are perfect, and the guacamole is simple but fine right. The enchiladas were full of flavor without just being a cheese tube. The tacos were full and multidimensional; meaning they were not just one note, they had depth. The corn was cooked right and so delicious I could have just eaten those all night. The cake was a good portion; it was rich but not overpowering. This place is great and I want to go back soon!

Painted Burrows in Boston is a must-visit for anyone who loves Mexican-inspired cuisine. The flavorful dishes, cozy atmosphere, and friendly staff make it a top choice for a satisfying meal. This spot is a must-visit for any foodie looking to indulge in some delicious and satisfying meals at a great price point for brunch!

(Dinner Menu) We came in blind and were pleasantly surprised to find that the food was extremely delicious and colorful. I got the seared swordfish with coconut rice and a mango papaya salad, and my partner got the heirloom tomato enchiladas. Both were extremely flavorful. The swordfish was cooked perfectly, and complimented well by the creamy rice and fresh-tasting salad. I usually like a lot of salt in my meals but this did not need anything added. The enchiladas had a very interesting basil flavor to the mole sauce, and overall it tasted extremely fresh and delicious. Both plates were very filling! We could not fit any more than that, and some chips and salsa. Would recommend on date nights and special occasions, the plates were $26 and $20 respectively. The staff were respectful and kind, and the cleanliness standards for the cureent pandemic were good. We sat at least 6ft apart from other diners, and used disposable plates and cutlery. The servers had masks and gloves. I only wish we had been given a quick spray of hand sanitizer at the end, but that's okay! The Painted Burro is great--go check it out!

Love the all you can eat brunch! The dishes are served tapas style so we got to try many different things. Super fun to come here as a group.

Super friendly service, super dope tequila menu even though Fortaleza is just plain tough to come by, has everything else. The tacos. To die for, wait for them patiently; you'll be impressed. Each face of flavor from all of their taco builds are incredibly tasty. Julissa (Jule Isss sah) is a rockstar that was eager to keep me satisfied with her service. The vibe of the rooms; they keep everything very clean and tidy. Almost everything a guest could sell if actually within eyesight. In the bathrooms, toothpicks near the mirrors. Brilliant and thoughtful and something my restaurant will start doing tomorrow. Tomorrow because I'm off today. Go eat tacos everyday!!! These ones are two of their Double stack beef with two shells soft and crispy. And the other is a crispy fish that has a woefully light batter and fry on it. Superb!!! Thank you Team PB!!!!!! The BEST all-you-can-eat brunch located in Davis Square. We ordered the chicken and waffles, papas bravas, brussel sprouts, pancakes, and too many tacos to count (my favs were the fish taco & breakfast taco). But the real winner is their cucumber margarita, it’s refreshing and impossible to order just one!

Great restaurant! Not the best dairy free options as a lot of food includes cheese and some of which cannot be taken out. However still great tacos are awesome and the margaritas were really good! We had a special pineapple chipotle margarita which was delicious. Will definitely go back again.

The food is EXCELLENT. Impressive range of flavor combinations and styles, blending the traditional with the new. Beautiful ambiance, accommodated a huge group of 30+ for us and made us a custom menu. I was full from devouring appetizers by the time our meal came...and yet still managed to find room for dessert afterwards. Great spicy margaritas - and even some TVs in the other room/bar (not interrupting our dining experience) so the boys could catch the end of the game after dinner. Highly recommend for a date, a group, family, coworkers, most anyone!

Great modern Mexican fare with some very good craft cocktails. I had the tomatillo bloody mary which was incredible, not too spicy, amazing smell. Food is generously portioned. Iced horchata coffee was fantastic as well.

I came here for brunch with a group of students from my university. We ordered from the bottomless brunch menu and everything was delicious! The staff was super helpful and the food came decently fast, although there were slight mix ups with our orders. Definitely will be back again!

Really good taste and service Johanna did a good job and the gourmet food for only $ 25 sat and Sunday’s and just pay for good cocktails! Definitely we’ll be back

Great Mexican spot! Not you’re average in the best way due to more of a variety of menu options. House margarita was delicious. Don’t need to overspend on others offered. I got the mahi mahi taco (my favorite the aioli was amazing) with the short rib taco, and my boyfriend got the street-dog. Yes I poked fun at him ordering a hot dog, but honestly I tried it and it was likely the best I will ever have. Waitress was great and atmosphere was awesome. Would recommend!

Great place for local Mexican food. Ambiance/price/service - on a scale of 1 to 10 - 10/5/9. I highly recommend this little gem in the heart if David Square.

we had very good taco (Carne asada, double stack, gulf shrimp diabolo). Especially, crispy taco was really really enjoyable. chips and salsa was served complimentary at first time.

The Painted Burro is pretty much unbeatable. You like Mexican and South American food? You’re set here. I’ve been for brunch (the cold brew horchata combo is a favorite) and dinner multiple times and this place has never missed. Combined with lovely service, a cool interior, and reasonable (for Somerville) prices, they never miss!

Both me and my friend ordered tacos. The Baja fish taco was great but I STRONGLY recommend the diablo shrimp taco. It was cooked perfectly and the pickled onions were delicious with the shrimp. The mango guacamole was really good, totally recommend this place! Thanks Seated!

Great vibe! Cute interior and exterior design. Tables are close together but not uncomfortably squished. Servers are attentive, polite, and coming by to refill our glasses of water. 1) get the Horachata drink! It's served in a large beer glass an it's amazing!! 2) French Toast - amazingly thick toast but it was a little dry. Could've used more egg batter and syrup. But the cream really helped. It was very good! But probably wouldn't buy it again next time. 3) Chorizo & Eggs Torta - (it's the picture of a sandwich with a side salad) - large and filling and hit the spot. The Chorizo wasn't very spicy. It had a kick to it but nothing intense. 4) El Montanero Superbeasto - WOW! Amazing. The dish contains a little bit of everything. I would definitely get it again next time. Only complaint is that the chicharron was a little dry. It was well seasoned but a little too dry. Everything else on the dish was fantastic. 5) note - while you wait for your entrees, servers will give you free chips and salsa. Chips are excellent and WARM! And the salsa is the best I've had - very well seasoned and couldn't stop eating it. 6) side of home fries / potatoes - well seasoned. Highly recommend. In general - well pleased that all the Mexican inspired dishes were well made and well seasoned. Would definitely be coming back again :) TIP - Make reservations. Without reservations, it would probably be a 30 min wait time.

Had a great time with friends at the Painted Burro Saturday brunch. The food was very good and the drinks were excellent too. The Cuban sandwich was very good, as were the tacos, appetizers and breakfast foods. Will definitely be back!

Always happy to have dinner here. The food and service are both excellent. It was a fun atmosphere on this Valentine's day early dinner.

Nice newer large restaurant with several margarita variants. People liked the coconut rice that came with the swordfish more than the swordfish itself. The kale salad was well dressed. There isn’t a lot of sound deadening or fabric pads so it gets very loud very quickly. The bathrooms are down stairs.

I dined here with a group of 4 for Sunday brunch. The drinks were good and food was solid, but nothing blew my mind. I tried almost everything on the menu, and my favorite thing was the esquites corn bowl. The chilaquiles were good as well, but most of the food seemed a little gimmicky. The $29 bottomless brunch is a good deal though!

The food was really good and the nacho also. A little pricey especially since each taco is sold separately and confusing. I’d eat there again.

I came here with a friend and we sat ourselves in the bar section. I was immediately impressed with the atmosphere - it's dark but colorful at the same time. We started with complimentary chips & salsa and the kale & plantains appetizer. I have never had plantains with kale, so I was eager to try it - I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. It reminded me of a basic rice bowl you would get at a chain lunch spot, and they give you the option to add extra stuff on top. The kale didn't make sense, and the two flavors do NOT go together. I got the squash tacos and the short rib tacos - I was impressed with both! We finished with churro's and they were delicious!!The service was great!

The food had a very interesting flavour and the sangria was great. I really liked the interior design with all the Mexican theme paining on the wall. The waitress initially was a bit serious, but she became more welcoming and relax towards the end.

First time here! Love the idea of a bottomless brunch. Food was mostly really good, especially the tacos (love!), the corn dish, and the tortas, with the exception of a few dishes: I thought the potatoes were a little dry and the muffin for the eggs Benedict was too tough (we couldn’t really cut it with a knife). You get 90 mins only but honestly the food is filling and the service is fast, so we were done within 45-60 mins. Amazing horchata iced coffee ❤️

Chimichanga was great - def would order that again. Enchiladas were good, but I wish they came with rice and beans for the price. Wouldn't get queso again - tasted pretty bland.

Great place to enjoy affordable Mexican food and drinks. Recently visited on a weekday night as a large group, and they were able to accommodate our group of 11. We started off with some complementary nacho chips which were warm and crispy. I got the Sonora sunset cocktail drink and it had a pleasant kick with jalapeños. Short ribs torta was delicious but it wasn't an ideal choice to have with cocktails as the bread was quite dry. Overall, their service was somewhat lacking as they rarely came to our table and we had a hard time asking for things that we needed. Otherwise, I would recommend this place for casual hangouts for large groups.

A mainstay in Davis Square. This place has good mexican cuisine and offers a great environment. The dishes are not that good to warrant five stars, but all good nonetheless. Highlights here include the ceviche, tacos, enchiladas, and the margs. Overall, love coming back here whenever we can and hope to come again soon !

I got the baja fish taco with beans and rice and empanadas to go. The fish taco was good, a bit pricey for tacos at around $9. I thought it was tasty with the jalapeño sauce adding a bit of spice, but wanted the fish to be crispier. I enjoyed the empanadas a lot! I thought it needed more salt at first, but then I hit the cheese and it was great. Beans and rice were normal, not world changing. Everything tasted fresh and I will most likely order again.

Overall good food, good vibes, good drinks for a Saturday brunch. Downsides relate to this being in a crowded part of Somerville with limited parking nearby depending on time of day. Another downside is that brunch service is super crowded and the service slows down. We ordered the bottomless brunch. They bring you out small tapas plates of anything on the brunch menu. As much as you want. However, several times our order got messed up or never arrived. The server was friendly and eventually the food came out, but it definitely wasn't seamless. Service started with a warm greeting but it ended with a cold/non existent farewell.

Creative Mexican cuisine with over 100 different tequilas offered on the menu... yet the house Margarita is pretty boring. So definitely make sure to order your drink with the kind of tequila or agave you prefer. The dishes are a bit hit or miss, but there are interesting vegetarian options and our server was friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about gluten-free options. The beets taco was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS - yet the rice and beans were just meh. I expected more out of these staples here, but both the creamy poblano rice and the seasoned Mexican rice were lacking in flavor and texture, and the vegetarian black beans are served pureed into mush. The highlight of my meal was definitely the Mexican chocolate ice cream for dessert! Nice and creamy with little bits of frozen milk and the lovely light taste of cinnamon laced throughout. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal but I regret not trying a few more sides like the kale & plantains and their watermelon and heirloom tomato salad. It feels like the focus here is on really fresh ingredients prepared in new ways - but at the cost of the super traditional offerings. Service was very attentive and we enjoyed the atmosphere very much.

This review is based on getting take out from here. I’m sure if I was dining in and enjoying the atmosphere the price would seem worth it. But each entree pictured was $21 and the “make it a meal” was just the cup of rice/beans showed. The flavor is good but the portion size is not. (Pictured is the chimichanga entree, the pork carnitas enchiladas entree, and the “make it a meal” add on).

K
Kathleen Snow

The server got my drink order wrong, the music was so loud that I couldn't hear my friends at the table, it's too expensive for me to want to visit again, and it doesn't have many vegetarian options either. The sweet potato quesasilla was alright though. I also got the mushroom enchiladas, but it's the most bland Mexican dish I've ever had. I wouldn't say it was bad since the textures were good, just kind of boring to eat, especially for $20.

Z
Zsuzsanna Tóth

The place has a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the food looked better than it tasted. My husband ordered nachos, it was fun to eat with the cabbage and the pickled(?) carrots, the dressings were good too, but the meat and the cheese didn't taste really good, and they should be the hero of the meal. I ordered the chicken milanese (without garlic) and it was a bit bland in my opinion. I guess fried chicken sandwich is not really a classic mexican food, but the chicken and cheese were pretty tasteless and the beans needed more flavor too. There was like 1 slice of tomato in the whole sandwich. There was a tiny amount of arugula salad (or something similar) next to the sandwich which actually tasted way better than the sandwich itself, a bit more would have been nice. After reading all the good reviews, I start to think that we just didn't order the best items from the menu...?

This is a great place to come with friends or family for some good food and drinks. While all the food was delicious, the experience didn’t quite match. All the tables are very close to each other, so there was only a few inches between our table and the table next to us which had young kids at it. We ordered a bunch of things to share, but everything showed up at the same time and there was no room on the table so we had to ask if the server could delay the rest of the food. The restaurant was very busy and we didn’t see our server very much at all. The food was 4 stars, the service was 2, so overall 3 stars.

Drinks were tasty, food was disappointing. The birria taco was good, but the mahi and carrot ones were not. Nachos were average.

B

The food was decent, however for the price I would expect it to be much better. Seasoning was lacking. Drinks were good. Staff were friendly.
