I didn’t manage to snap pictures of our food because we were too busy enjoying it! Our waiter was so warm and welcoming. Such a friendly and peaceful environment :) we were overwhelmed by all the delicious options and were given great recommendations. Would definitely come back again!
I went with my two best friends and we had such a wonderful evening! We really enjoyed talking with Marco — he’s so charming and clearly passionate about what he does. He chose three different wines to pair with our courses, and each one was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious and high quality. A fantastic experience from start to finish!
I would come here every single time we are in Sonoma. The outside garden is absolutely gorgeous and our server Benedicto was incredible and made our experience great. The food was delicious.
I visited from London England, and Della Santina’s was the perfect place to start my visit. Not only was an amazing wine tasting event on, with some of the world’s best wines, but the food was exactly what I needed after a long flight, Tender meats and fresh delicious pasta paired with the perfect wine for you meal. I left with my heart and belly full. A special Thank you to Rob, Nicole and Marco for taking the time to explain the array of wines and help me pick a perfect bottle to take back to the Uk. A must visit!
We just finished another spectacular meal paired with wines off the carefully curated wine list that stunned and amazed. Rob and his father Dan are present nearly every day, and quality is the touchstone. Our gnocchi with truffle, ravoli with spinach and brown butter, petrali sole and “flat steak” with brown rice and greens were all just spectacular (again). This place is a must-visit on the Sonoma Plaza. Oh yes, their wine bar kills it too. I’ve been a customer for 28 years, and it’s never been better. Kudos to the waitstaff and the culinary team as well.
Loved the patio!!! My meal was so good, I didn't know I needed it! The bread was fabulous. I had the ravioli with pork, chicken and veal. The sauce was divine! And since I was driving I didn't have any alcohol but I did add an Aqua Panna, it was a nice compliment to the tasty sauce. The service was impeccable. I definitely want to go back again.
My friend and I came here for a work lunch and were truly impressed. The food, service, and atmosphere were exceptional, genuine five-star quality. Rob was a gentleman, offering his mother’s homemade gnocchi and dessert, both unforgettable. The family’s warmth and Tuscan heritage shine through every detail. A beautiful taste of Lucca — heartfelt, elegant, and absolutely worth returning for. We’ll be back!
We ate in the wine bar the first night and let Marco (the bartender) choose everything for us. he suggested wines for each course, they paired perfectly. We learned so much about the food and wine with his knowledge. We came back our last night in town and "Benny" took great care of us. We were seated in the patio where we felt like we were in Italy. The lasagna was perfect, but the gnochi was the best. It was soft, and creamy just like it is in Italy. Did I mention the balsamic? just wow, with the homeade bread and smooth olive oil. Every detail was chosen to make the entire experience delightful. I want to come back to Sonoma just for THIS food.
My wife brought me here as a Valentine's Day surprise. This was our 1st time here. The restaurant is beautiful upon walking in. We are immediately seated at our reservation time. The food was delicious and the bottle of wine that we ordered was tasty. Our waiter was very attentive and a pleasure to meet. You can split the entrees if you ask, but they do charge a split plate fee.
25 years ago had the best gnocchi that I have ever had. Just had it AGAIN! Della Santina is unbelievable. Whether you’re in Napa or Sonoma, YOU HAVE TO VISIT THIS QUAINT RESTAURANT. This is a Italian gem in the heart of Sonoma. Every detail from environment, to service, to perfectly served dishes….including a table side visit with the owner who is so genuinely thankful that you cane to visit. It is like eating in your best friend home. Come on down driveway and enter thru the side door. You won’t want to leave.
Della Santina’s feels like coming home. The food was exceptional, as always, but what made the evening truly special was the warmth. The owner pulled up a chair and we had the loveliest chat about life in Marin and Sonoma - like old friends catching up. My waiter Oscar was thoughtful and spot-on with his wine and food recommendations. With family photos on the wall and kindness all around, it felt like I was a guest at their table, not just a customer. Really the most charming place!
Best vongole pasta I’ve had in a while that came with perfectly al dente pasta. The bread was lovely as well as the balsamic vinegar that is home made by Della Santina. We sat in the back, a secret garden space that was comfortable and warm in the cold weather. Met the owner briefly and he was welcoming and made sure to chat with all the guests present. Thank you for a lovely experience!
Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, lovely people! The owner stopped by our table several times to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The balsamic vinegar is to die for, and I bought some to take home with me. On a wine tour, so had limited time to spend here, but will definitely return. Highly recommend!
As soon as you walk through the entrance you are transported. It's a charming and delightful spot, and I was seated next to a fountain in the courtyard. Every moment was absolutely lovely. I started with insalata mista, added a side of olives (must try!), and enjoyed the bread and olive oil. The bread was slightly sweet and not warm but quite good. Save some for the pasta sauce! The duck ragu was a special and I didn't realize it was ground duck, but it was delicious either way. There's nothing like freshly made pasta and this was superb. I enjoyed it with a glass of Pinot noir. Vidal my server and he was attentive and graceful, I hardly noticed as he slid past to fill my water and make sure I had everything I needed at every moment. He surprised me with a glass of Moscato after my meal. It was a true delight! This place is a gem and I highly recommend it.
Highly recommend this restaurant! The service was wonderful, the food was absolutely fantastic, and the atmosphere in the courtyard was just beautiful. We loved the experience here, and every menu item we tasted was impressive. Their penne featured some of the best Italian sausage I've ever had.
Solid 4/5 Best gnocchi I have tasted. Highly recommended. Amazingly light and fluffy texture with melt in your mouth potatoes. Great tomato based sauce The warm bread + fresh tasting olive oil + vinegar. delicious combination. The branzino was just ok. The fish was a little overcooked leading to it tasting dry and tough. Heirloom tomato salad was average. Tiramisu was not bad. They had sweetened/preserved cherry on top. The heavy cherry sauce was very strong and detracted from the dessert.
My pesto sauce gnocchi was bland for my taste, but everyone else had great food! Wine selection was great. Unique food options (duck) in addition to standard pastas, salads and soups. Very authentic Italian. The bread basket bread is to die for. Homemade balsamic was good (more like a glaze, I should have bought some to take home!). Wonderful service! We had a very minor inconvenience early on and they went above and beyond, without our asking, to rectify. Beautiful patio! The prices felt very fair.
I went here for a nice lunch with the my 4 girlfriends… we ended up walking out. Server was condescending and rude. No questions were welcomed, we asked to add a protein to a pasta and the comment back from our server was an eye roll and “this is not Olive Garden”. Do better, make people feel welcome, if you can’t accommodate just be nice about it.
