I was actually trying to go to Ono Hawaiian Barbecue, but my navigation kept recommending this restaurant because of its high reviews. It redirected me here twice, so I thought, “Fine, let’s just try it.” And I’m so glad I did — I ended up discovering an amazing place! The owner may seem a bit reserved at first, but he’s actually very kind. The macaroni salad was delicious, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the chicken katsu was honestly the best I’ve ever had in my life — perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. And all of this for just $12.99! Places like this truly deserve more recognition. I really hope more people come and support this hardworking Korean owner. These are so good. sooooo gooood.
I was close by and this was walking distance. Definitely a solid Hawaiian bbq spot. I ordered there bbq combo with short ribs, bbq chicken and bbq beef with macaroni salad and rice. The short ribs was excellent, seasoned just right, the bbq beef and chicken were also excellent and the macaroni salad was a great addition for the whole entree. The spam musubi and bbq chicken musubi were solid and I got it on easy rice. I’d definitely come back and try their other items.
Oh man there are so many great spots but this is seriously the best Hawaiian BBQ!! I’ve been coming here for years I hate going anywhere else. Their Masubi is fantastic. If you want Ahi burger they have it and it’s awesome. They also have great specialty rolls which is a major plus cuz I can get some sushi and Hawaiian at the same time. The owners are so humble and just always so kind to serve you and always smile and are very Courteous. I’ve never been disappointed. Big 3👍🏼’s out of 3👍🏼’s!!
I LOVE coming here whenever I'm in the area! I got the spicy beef and some spam musubi along with a Thai tea. The spam musubi is to die for, I finished one so quick I was confused where it went 😆 The spicy beef was so savory and tasted like home, and the Thai tea tastes legit. They have green tea too which l've had before and is perfect! Sweet but not too sweet. The owners were super sweet and the ambience is so cute, very Hawaiian themed. I have no complaints at all!🏝️❤️
Love the spam Musubias I forget what's it's called.. cute rice spam wrapped seaweed. Oh n I love their macaroni salad.. Employees are always friendly
Get the spicy pork it's really good but it have some kicks it comes with macaroni salad and rice.
The food is amazing, macaroni salad is a boom, everything is delicious
Delicious food and great customer service from the owners! We will definitely be back for more yummy Hawaiian food!

Delicious food and great customer service from the owners! We will definitely be back for more yummy Hawaiian food!
This place is absolutely the best. We now have two Hawaiian bbq restaurants in the same small area. This one has the hometown feel. It's the one that is family owned and worked! They don't have fancy leis but they have a huge menu, and really good food! If you want the hometown feel.. and yummy delicious food.. come try the best Hawaiian bbq in South Pasadena!
One of my go to spots when I'm in Pasadena. The serving sizes are good and the prices are some the best in the area. Everything on the menu is basically under $15 and the spam and chicken musubi are about $3 and big. It's a smaller place, so just a couple tables and a tv but the owners who I believe are husband and wife are super chill and welcoming. Will definitely continue coming here for sure.
This place is fire. I have went here once a month for an entire year. One of my favorite parts is the catering platters. Can get a lot of delicious food to feed multiple families for a great price.
Loved the food! Tasteful texture of katsu. Shrimps were very fresh and bouncy. Probably it must have been a while after delivery but still fried rice hasn’t become sticky and smelled nice. Their sauce was top notch level. Amazing.
Hands down one of the best Hawaiian BBQ places I’ve ever been to. It’s not the nicest looking restaurant, but who cares? Get in, and get out, enjoy your meal. Skip the chain places and come here instead.
The staff was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. Definitely left with my belly full, I would recommend the Hawaiian combo

One of if not the best hawaiian bbq I have had ever. Service is amazing and the food is the freshest I have seen! Everyone should check it out at least once.

The food here is SO GOOD!! It's a little different than L&L as it should be, because it's not the same company. I feel like this spot has more flavor than L&L. I remember it first opened up around 2004-2005 while I was in culinary school and I continue to come here to this day. Bbq beef and bbq chicken is my go to plates here. But they have a good sized menu if you want to get something more. If it's a hot day, feel free to drop by and get a smoothie also.
Friendly, fresh, satisfying for cold or hot weather #2 - Chicken Katsu combo w/side rice and macaroni salad. #12 - Spicy pork combo w/side rice and macaroni salad. # 1- Hawaiian BBQ chicken combo w/side rice and macaroni salad.

I like it. Not too salty. I've had the chicken, the spicy beef, and also some kind of curry. It's all good. Only thing I would change, the macaroni, although delicious, very small portion.
Overall, this is pretty decent spot for Hawaiian food. I actually think they're better than L&L with better overall flavor and variety. This location has been around for a very long time in South Pasadena and I have frequented it often. The owners are nice enough, I like the spicy beef, I think the macaroni salad is tasty though a little bit too much mayo, and my only criticism is that I prefer cook cabbage over raw shredded cabbage. But if you're in the need for quick, grilled and somewhat healthy food, this is a good spot.

First time here. I don’t get the whole “Hawaiian bbq,” thing. It’s basically any spot that sells beef/pork,chicken with some sauce. Cold macaroni no’s not Hawaiian, Spam mixed in with other items is not uniquely Hawaiian. Menu says combo includes “any,” two meats…so I order bbq chicken with Spam…owner says with a cold, smug voice, “No Spam.” I said you said “any two meats, the menu says any two meats…” Still no Spam LOL! What a joke. The food was no better than any charred chicken spot with teriyaki sauce. Mac salad was bland. NO roll. The bbq with onions also bland. To top it off, I paid almost $16 for what is $10.99-12.00 elsewhere. Place was dirty. Hard pass on this spot.
The taste of their food is spot on. A real delicious taste, but their prices have gone up tremendously over the years. 2 pieces of spam masubi used to be $3.50. Now it's $5+. Mini portions of food entrees used to be $7, now they're basically $9. Used to come here a lot, but not anymore for that price. Update as of October 2020: Food is still spot on but now they even jip you on the portions as well. My almost $9 mini spicy pork (photo) came with meat that could fill up about 2 tortillas. I guess you should always go for the regular size but I’m afraid even that went up in price to maybe almost $12. The added meat doesn’t look like a lot either for that much. I’m way better off driving to the Hawaiian place across the street from East LA Community College on Atlantic and getting a full on single meal that will last me lunch and dinner for $7. The place is called Ohana Hawaiian Island BBQ. It’s so good and they give you so much food and the environment is a nicer.

The food is good, but not worth how much you are paying. I recently got a mini meal with a small Thai tea. But the portion size was very small for a almost 16 dollar meal. Maybe it is more worth if I got the normal portion food. But the mini meal option is really just too small of a portion
