I love this spot! Stopped in with family for a quick lunch. The service is amazing, the food has great portions, the menu is huge and everything tastes AMAZING. best little hole in the wall spot I've found after 6 years in San Diego. Im so mad it took me this long to find it! There's even burgers for your picky eaters. So great

It's our first time eating at Marlen's Taco Shop in Spring Valley CA & all the food we ordered was the bomb. They tasted so good I wanted to lick all the sauce of the container. I ate it without the hot sauce. Yummy, yummy, yummy! 😋

So glad we found this place. The ingredients are fresh, and very consistent. Friendly service. Atmosphere is what you would expect for a place that focuses on great food (no frills). I was originally sold on the milanesa burrito, but everything else I try is great. I bring my friends here for what I would say are some of the best tacos in SD.

Only thing I can complain about this place is when the big woman with piercings takes my order, she always gets it incorrect, never had this issue with the younger lady or older woman at the counter. The food is good, price is bit high for regular tacos. Will continue to go but will make sure I check my order before and after I pay when ordering with the big lady with piercings.

It's a Mexican restaurant bad atmosphere

I ordered a Chorizo plate with a mango smoothie, but it was just alright. The dish lacked flavor, and the beans had an odd taste and texture. Surprisingly, the rice was the most flavorful part of the plate. The smoothie was the main reason for my 3-star review as it had no flavor, and the color was off.

Your menu says that a side of chips comes with guacamole and salsa and you charge almost 9 dollars for it. The handful of chips didn't have either.

The ladies there were very friendly, however, I ordered the caldo de res and the broth tasted overwhelmingly of cabbage (there was more cabbage in there than beef!). The beef was tender but I didn’t drink much of the broth. Disappointing because I was really craving some soup for my sore throat.

I always order from DoorDash and everything looks great. But this morning I got off from work and I wanted breakfast, I stopped by at 7:55 AM because it said “they open at 8 AM”. We came here twice for good measure before deciding we will unfortunately never return. The food was horrible both times. Today we ordered mulitas but what we got was not a mulita or edible. We had to tear the food apart and eat the meat, only to find a huge hair entangled into the meat. We asked to use the bathroom and the only answer we got was to try the door. That did not even work. I suggest you find a different taco shop this place has nothing positive about it. The food is bad and the service matches.

After I was done with the burrito I had a handful of pieces of fat that I fed to my dogs so at least they were happy.

Ordered $13 carne asada fries and portion was half the plate. I don’t recommend going to pay $13 for half a plate of carne asada fries and the meat is all fat. Never going back
