Landed at Grump's during a curated day retreat with the boyfriend. We were in town from DFW and drove past this location. The place was welcoming and fun. Plenty of seating. We were greeted promptly for counter service. Plenty of beer and cocktail choices. I went with a bottle of Shiner and boyfriend's draft was icy cold. Food took the 12-15 minutes we were told to wait. And it was well worth the short wait. The food came out hot and delicious. I chose the basic burger with no mustard with a side of sweet potato fries. Both came out perfectly cooked and prepared. Say yes to the jalapeño ketchup! And the ranch was spot on. Both offered by the attentive staff as they brought us our food at no extra charge. Thank you for the courtesy.

Very good burgers. Happy to taste that the jalapeños are actually spicy (seems to be a rarity around here). Onion rings are very tasty. Service was great.

One of the best burgers I've had! The buns were buttery soft and the burger was nice and juicy. My husband had the onion rings and they were cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back!

This is the kind of place. I look for when I’m going out of town. Homemade hamburgers and onion rings to die for. I ate all of my onion rings and more than half of my burger because it was gigantic! I did not get anything big but it is a big burger I added bacon to mine to give it a little more flavor and it didn’t need it, but it made it more wonderful!

My first time here as I'm bringing my son to college at Tarleton. Stop in with my mother and wife who was pleasantly surprised with the decor and atmosphere. All the marketing and regional advertisements brought a charm to the establishment that you love to see in these college towns. The food was so good. I even forgot to take pictures of my queso Burger, a sweet potato fries in order of normal fries, as well as a side salad and a bacon barbecue burger. The way staff was friendly and they offer a military discount of 10%. If your son or daughter is also a dependent of a veteran and has there veterans ID card, they can also receive the 10% discount per the staff. Super awesome place. Definitely stop by if you're in the area or if you're bringing your kids here for college. Make sure you stop and show them grumps Burger

Dang, this was good. I ordered to go. My wife got the caso burger with sweet potato fries. I got the spicy grilled chicken sandwich with the same side. Man, this was good! I had a draft beer in a frosted mug while I waited. The mug was so frozen that ice was floating in my beer. Wonderful

First time here and the burgers were amazing. I got the queso burger, others got the Swiss mushroom burger, and the regular burger. I loved the fries too. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

You know in foreign movies when they say things like “We going to America let’s get a burger/fries.“ this is the place you wanna take them too. It’s got that home town (clean) hole in the wall feel. You walk in, order at the counter, and pick your own seat. You’ve got some peanuts on the table to pick at while you wait and the burger is worth the wait. I got the queso burger and it was that goood queso not nasty fake cheese. Fries=Yummy. Not shoe string thin or steak fry large, just medium with a golden glow of on the verge of overcooked but stopped just in time. Fried pickles were a bit salty but I’m a little bougie about my fried pickles so you may think they are great. All the Durblin soda you can drank’ in true Texan fashion. Also- it’s kid friendly. I have a ton of kids and they did fine... ice cream box being front and center was a bit cruel to parents and the pocket book but I commend them for their cut throat up sale on the ice cream.

I enjoyed this place. The hamburgers are good. The patties were pretty thick as well. That helps. What seems to be the usual for me, I started eating my food before I took a picture. Lol. I didn’t really care for the french fries just because they were really crispy. I’m not a fan of crispy french fries. But, that being said they were still good. I like the decor of the restaurant. It’s got a pretty cool vibe for what it is. The lady that helped us, Sara, was one of the managers. She was really kind. Every employee we encountered definitely made the Customer Service good. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

🍔 I got the Bacon Jalapeno Cheeseburger with Sweet Potato Fries 🍟 . The burger is above average! The meal and my company made this an extraordinary experience . The sweet potato fries were The Bomb! The Ziegenbach draft was ice cold. Exactly what I expected in a burger joint.

Food is normally good and fresh but today I ordered chicken like always and I get a three piece with a broken tender like some broke it or ate it. It was supposed to be a 4piece originally and fries but I only got three and a broke tender . I guess the tender was too big and could make two out of one but no sir not today

Foods good don’t get me wrong, but they are slow as hell. A toddler with a tablet built by ford could probably go faster. Every time I come into town and try to call in an order before closing time the phone sounds like it’s disconnected or they pick up and tell me it’s going to be a 45min-1hr wait. Every single time I think “hey maybe it was a one off situation let me try again” ….its not….if you got the time to wait for ur food like ur waiting for Jesus to come back and to drive by to make sure they are not just avoiding your phone calls like your ex husband when it’s his weekend to take the kids…then sure go here but if not, honestly it would be faster to go get ur self a grill and all the ingredients at Walmart and for some reason slow cook your patties heck might even come out better if ur not as incompetent as most of the companies and chefs in Stephenville. Also don’t even bother with their fried pickles or fries they are both and disgraces to their lineage of potato and pickles, I even feel bad for the oil they put them in. Point of the story- slower than my dead grandma, will avoid you phone calls like your ex. Upside, they are cheap! But they just raised their prices January 1st…unfortunately a raise in price doesn’t mean a raise in service or McDonalds wouldn’t have better service than this place.

This is the second time they've COMPLETELY messed our order up. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger with jalapeno bread. No jalapeno bread. Ordered a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries, when I showed up they told me no sweet potatoes. I then switched to Fried pickles. Received order missing jalapeno bread, and my wrong side on BOTH ORDERS. I WANT A REFUND OR GRUMPS MAKE UP FOR YOUR MISTAKE. 2ND TIME COMPLETELY RUINED OUR NIGHT
