If you are an anime fan, looking for a good vibe, good setting, unique anime theme drinks that will get you good, this is the spot for you. Bring your friends that don’t know about anime, let them get a small peek into your world. Plus the Karaoke is fun for everyone to enjoy. Show your love for this place, it deserves it!
Went here for my boyfriends birthday it was super cool and chill. I personally felt like the drinks were a little expensive mostly $10 and up but then again everything is going in price. They did karaoke at 10pm and it was a vibe mixed music of course but it was fun and funny and totally an enjoyable relaxing place. Loved to see it get pretty full towards the end of the night. Definitely give this place a try. Only downside for me was I think they may have freshly painted and that smell was Definitely there.
I came in on a Wednesday night and I had an amazing time! The bartender Sierra was so interesting & so cute. I give this place a rating of 5 stars specifically because of her customer service! I discovered my new favorite drink because of her. My drinks were made perfectly & my food was hot! Someone greeted me at the door. There are so many TVs, the atmosphere is a 10 out of 10! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Anime :)
First experience here was Halloween and it was awesome loved the atmosphere and how nice everyone was only complaint is bar gets busy but it’s a bar and ppl wanna drink so that’s not a make a break thing food was unique and great tasting also definitely added this place as one my frequent weekend spots
Tonight they added a new menu. Next week will have more items. Tonight I tried the tempura wings and chicken egg rolls. The gyoza has always been good, but this new Sakura sauce they have is sweet, tangy, with just a hint of spice. Honestly, if they sold it in stores, I would use it for a BBQ! This sauce itself is amazing, but even without it, the egg rolls are killer, and the tempura wings have an amazing texture you have to bite to believe! The drinks here have always had a wide array, even though I don't drink. The atmosphere has always been amazing! The staff is kind and fun, the karaoke is a great activity. Here, you are treated like family. I also love anime watch parties with everyone. But with this new menu the Anime Bar went from my favorite hangout spot to my favorite restaurant! It's well worth the wait as this place is usually busy, and with good reason! If you wanna have wings, drinks, anime and sing karaoke, this is the place to be!
Been coming here with my husband and our friends for a few years now always been a lovely experience getting to play games and karaoke and any number of events they host theres always something to come out for. Can't dance like I used to but the line dances are always fun. Never felt any discomfort being myself here. 🏳️🌈 ♥️🧡💛💚💙💜
Went to the grand opening today and had an amazing time. The Manager was handsome and caring and Denise was simply fun and amazing. Drinks were good and although food selection was limit at this time. What they served was good and I ate it ALL. My new hangout spot for sure. So glad there is a fun space for us who love anime!! Thanks for this
Huge thanks to The Anime Bar for the amazing hospitality last night! Our skate group had a blast with the fun vibes, karaoke, great drinks, video games, friendly staff, clean restrooms, and cool patrons. Can’t wait to come back to The Anime Bar and head to Anime Matsuri in August!
I told my school mom friends and family meembers about this new bar and we had such a great time!! They had limited food since it ran out quickly but what I had was hot and fresh!! Dumplings and chicken! So good! We sang karaoke, drank plenty and just had fun all night! And the owners were so hospitable! Definitely going back!!
Came a few times with my best friend and we had an amazing time. We didn't order food, but the drinks were great and service it's a great a bit on the slower side but only cause how much traffic they get. Overall we had a great time 💗💗.
This place is cool if you like anime or gaming the atmosphere is awesome lots of cosplay and karaoke. They have an area set up for gaming and tournaments. The workers are super friendly and they have food which is nice. I've only tried these loaded fries which were so good! its an epic place hangout.
The atmosphere is excellent. It's much more than just anime. They do a very good job at accommodating for multiple interests! The chicken tenders and fries are pretty good
This is a great place! It's the perfect place for anime fans. The figures are big. You can enjoy alcohol. There's a stage! 🎙️You can sing karaoke. It's a great place for friends who love anime to gather.✨
Awesome place. VERY cool atmosphere. Friday Saturday and Sundays have karaoke with Nate as KJ. They also have watch parties for new animes. The popcorn chicken and fries were really good. The drinks are very unique but even if you aren't ordering off the specialty menu they can make pretty much anything you would like. Mickey is excellent at crafting drinks and very personable as well he makes you feel at ease. No matter if it's the first time or 15th time being here you always feel welcomed. The gentlemen who works the door Batman always makes it feel like a safe atmosphere as well. Everyone who works here makes you experience unique!
My husband and I came here for the first time last night for our anniversary and had a BLAST! The atmosphere was amazing. The staff and other customers were so fun and welcoming. The decor is so cool. Definitely a place that we plan on spending more time in. The food in my opinion was just ok. I do think that they could improve the food options a bit, but other than that, so far we loved it! We will definitely be back soon ❤️
Greatest location for all to enjoy. Recommend this with the swiftness if you're an anime nerd like myself. It is more than a bar. It is a joyous experience for those that appreciate the art of anime. Good food the fries were addictive. The vibez are true and real. Give yourselves a chance on a memory and go to The Anime Bar.
I was so excited to go. I had this saved for a few months. This place was great the drinks were named after anime quotes. They were good & the bartenders were kind and helpful in explaining some of the drinks there. KARAOKE was so much fun! I had a blast and will go back. They also had a huge screen to play video games there too.
It’s a really cool place but the best part was that we asked the game manager to put MSI league of legends on screen in the back and he did it for us! We are definitely coming back for Worlds. We didn’t get to try the food but drinks were good.
I missed the grand opening on August 27th, but I was there this last weekend and I had so much fun! Drinks were so good! My favorite drink was the "Sonic" drink. They were very attentive, very friendly staff! They had karaoke going on at the time but I was very shy to sing 🙈 I will be back this weekend!
I don't feel that I need to write a review cause EVERYONE loves this place already 🙃 lol. But I love it. It became the only place I can go to BY MYSELF- as a woman, where I feel safe and taken care of. Love the food, the staff that I've befriended, the regulars, EVERYTHING. ❤️
Came last night for the first time with a friend for one of her friend's birthday. Place has a nice set up and nice atmosphere. All the bartenders seemed chill and the bouncer as well. Didn't try any food and only had a couple sips of a drink, so can't talk to much about that.

Always such an amazing time at this amazing and inclusive place. Zachary Clark would have you believe it doesn't except everyone. His lack of ability to cleary read and understand simple tasks on a karaoke sign up seat is utterly abysmal. Come to this amazing establishment for a very enjoyable experience. I have regularly been coming here and between ambiance and and amazing drink options this is the absolute best establishment to come and relax. The amazing staff makes you feel like family.
SO MUCH FUN! A great place to meet people and have a great time. I love the "Set Your Heart Ablaze" drink the best, but they're all real good!

I've been going to this bar for the past 2 years on and off. The atmosphere is amazing, the variety choice of drinks is great and the staff is very welcoming. I also love that they're always having special events happening all the time including karaoke and video game tournaments. They also have a huge restroom which is always a plus. My only issue is the drinks and food are quite overpriced so be prepared for that when visiting. Other than that, I recommend checking it out.
I’ve been wanting to come here for years and finally came for the first time last night.i had a great time and love the atmosphere and the concept of the bar. My only real complaint is how long is takes to get service. There was only 2 bartenders on a busy night so it would usually take 10-15 mins, sometimes longer to get one drink. The drinks are really good but a bit overpriced. I also tried to order chicken tenders but they were out of chicken so I ended up getting a pulled pork rice bowl which was really good. Me and my boyfriend got a few drinks each and one bowl of rice and payed over $100. Overall, I’d recommend this place to any anime lover but it’s a bit pricy and has slow service but great vibes.
They have karaoke and decent cocktails/drink options. Really wish they had better food options, but to be real, this ain't no three star Michelin, but that's okay! Vibes are good, staff are friendly and interact with the customers well. They also have a solid game setup at the end of the venue
Honestly can't really complain about this place. It has a very welcoming atmosphere and depending on what event is going on there determines like the level of service cause it can be understandable that things get busy. The vibe can go from extremely chill to extremely active in the span of 5 mins. The bartenders are cool and if u are a member of the weeb community, a gamer or a member of the alt community I'm sure this place can serve as a safe haven

My son loves Anime. So came to visit. He just loved it. Me my sister and friend also thought it was awesome as well.
It is definitely a unique bar for a first time experience. They have numerous video games, cosplay, events, and even car meets. I would say they are notably understaffed on the bartenders though which took over 20 minute wait for just one drink… Also, the prices are high for one drink ($8 beers, $12+ cocktails not including tip, $19 for one bottle soju, etc.)
Came here on karaoke night. Place is good with great atmosphere. Only thing that bothered me was kids somehow being allowed in. Some of them were even unaccompanied and just walking around with grown adults getting drunk and twerking on each other.
I really love the idea behind this bar. A little overpriced (but I mean it’s to be expected) the decor was amazing. I do agree with other reviewers that there could be improvements. 1.) Even if it’s just printed regular menus until they work on getting better ones, it would help a ton. Looking at a menu from one of the bartenders phone is noooot that great to be honest. 2.) Karaoke…I love how they included this but to continuously push people to sing is off putting. I really do feel it could have been it’s own room and have people go in there if they wanted to. While the other half just has music to listen to and chill without being pressured to go up and sing or even just to play music if no one wants to go up instead of just keeping it quiet. 3.) Hopefully in the future they have nights dedicated for certain events and maybe a small area for merch? I know they just opened but I’m hoping they listen to the feedback they are receiving and make some changes as I do want to see them succeed.
Bartenders need to be more aware when to cut someone off. When we arrived before 8pm, there was a guy 6 shots in, and the bartenders continued to serve him more shots after. He vomited an hour later in front of the video games that we were playing, and he was escorted out. Please be more aware of how much you're serving to your patrons and to notice when they're passing their limit. Overall a very fun place to hangout tho! This experience was not great for a first time visit, but may come back.
First off, I want to say that the atmosphere is absolutely amazing! The decor is everything I hoped it would be, and you can watch whatever they have showing on the big screens as you enjoy yourself. My recommendations would be that drinks and food come out a lot faster than it did. We waited over 20 minutes at least and we were the only ones there. I also would recommend that staff interact more with their customers or at least ask them if there’s anything they need. We were there for two hours and nobody came to check on us or offer anything additional. I think with these recommendations, this would have been a five-star experience and I see a lot of potential!
I've visited this place about five times, and while my experiences have been generally positive, I have some suggestions that could enhance the experience for other patrons as well as my future visits. The staff is friendly and welcoming, but they need help, and these suggestions would also benefit them: 1. **Add more bartenders** - The wait for a drink can sometimes exceed 10 minutes. Quick service is essential in a bar setting to ensure customer satisfaction. 2. **Hire full-time servers** - Dedicated servers for the tables would enhance the experience by allowing patrons to remain seated and enjoy their time without having to get up for drinks. 3. **Add stools at the bar** - The long bar could be more inviting with additional stools, encouraging guests to use the space and reducing overcrowding in other areas. 4. **Ensure all tap beers are stocked and food items don't run out** - Consistently running out of popular items can be frustrating for customers. Keeping all tap beers stocked is crucial. 5. **Hire someone to plan and rearrange the space** - The current layout hinders the flow of the bar. Proper space planning can create a more welcoming environment, improve traffic flow, and enhance the overall experience for patrons. 6. **All my suggestions are well-intended** - I hope these ideas help improve the bar, leading to greater success and better experiences for everyone. A well-designed and efficiently run bar encourages repeat visits and fosters a positive reputation.
It's their 2nd day of opening so definitely take this review with that in mind. Give them the benefit of the doubt. That having said, there are a lot of opportunities for this place to improve on. We went yesterday, a Sunday night around 8:30pm. The place is very spacious, with ample seating and open tables. The bar looked full, but we were able to find a seat after a short wait. After about 15 minutes, we were still not greeted. I had to get up and be aggressive in lining up and getting a bartenders attention. There were a lot of people standing around behind the bar, seemingly doing nothing and looking slightly lost. People approached them and found out that they weren't bartenders because they weren't TABC certified. That's understandable, but I would not loiter around in the bar area because you're going to get flagged down for orders. They were however, extremely attentive to bussing tables. This isn't a bad thing, but it did feel like they could allocate their resources better. It also didn't seem like the owners were TABC certified either as they were also sitting around and observing and not really doing much. There are no cocktail menus there. The website is also not up yet either. There were only 2 bartenders there that could serve drinks. Unfortunately they were painstakingly slow at making them, and kept getting distracted. It took about 20 minutes to make about 4 drinks, which went to other customers that also looked like they were getting impatient. This wasn't limited to cocktails as there was a woman that only wanted 3 cans of beer. Still took a good 15 minutes for the bartender to get it out of the fridge for her. The bartenders there seem to operate based on accuracy and quality, which I appreciate, but is unfortunately not appropriate for this fast paced environment. If I may suggest, change up the method of making the drinks from accuracy to speed. It's okay to hastily prepare a drink (Toki highball) without the need to put ice cubes one by one into a tall glass with tongs. Grab a scoop and have at it. It's also perfectly fine to make a whiskey sour without the 3 drops of bitters and forming hearts with it (see attached picture). They use eggs there, which is a HUGE plus already for whiskey sours. Skip the art, and it will help with pushing out drinks faster. The place is very well furnished with lots of screens everywhere, including a giant one. However, it felt like a wasted opportunity as the owner kept trying to show "anime fight amv" on YT instead of streaming full episodes of anime. The place already has music going, and having this on at the same time created a bad mix of 1 track conflicting with a 2nd track playing. It would be nice if they were to host a 12 episode marathon every week of something different to attract people instead of letting it go to waste on random amv videos on YT that anyone can google. Overall, I'm willing to give them more chances as it is just the 2nd day that the place is open. There are definitely kinks to work out. The place has potential, but needs time to make that all happen.

Great environment, and welcoming crowd. Music was great and the drinks were good, a little pricey. All that being said, I saw a bunch of underage kids in a BAR were adults are drinking, tweaking on each other and being productive. Not sure if their is a certain time that they kick the kids out..? Nonetheless, I still enjoyed my time
Okay to begin with the bar in general was good. Good drink, and good service only reason I give it a 2 is because yall have to much people singing. I be wanting to just go chill and vibe with good music, I don't want to be hearing people's crack voice every single song 😭. If yall would limit it like 1 person every 30 minute then this bar would definitely get a 5 star. But as of now it stays as 2 stars.
Really cool place and had a fun time. Service was kind of unfriendly, almost pissed off, and took forever to get my food. I tipped 30%, which I usually do since cost of living skyrocketed…in retrospect that was a mistake. Other than that it was a super unique experience.

Not sure if anyone else had a similar experience. Bartenders were not attentive and dj for karaoke had the same 4 people going up the entire night. This is the second time I’ve come and just had a dull time. Love the ambience, decor, and the vision. I live nearby, and I would rather make the 45 min commute into midtown/downtown for an infinitely better experience.
Having only 3 bartenders for the grand opening is ignorant. It took over 30 minutes to get a bartenders attention. I overheard a bartender saying they are running low on ingredients for drinks. As one bartender poured half a shot in my drink and charged me $14 for it. She was also very rude. No menus, so that was annoying. QR codes could easily solve that. Anime music playing on one side of the room and karaoke on the other. That was very annoying. I suggest having a karaoke night. Instead of having different things playing at the same time. The location is also an inconvenience. People tend to bar hop and The Anime Bar is in Sugar Land. So driving all the way out there to be disappointed was a major let down. My friends and I left after one hour to drive 30 minutes downtown to another bar. At least downtown you have the option to jump to different bars. I love anime and it’s cool being surrounded by others who also enjoy that. So I can understand why The Anime Bar picked another location instead of downtown. But maybe Bellaire would of been a nice choice instead. Because it’s either The Anime Bar is so great people plan to stay the whole night there or there’s other things close by so people can hop. I love the concept though. And the establishment has nice decor. I liked all the statues. The bar was very nicely done. The Gundam theme was cool. I enjoyed the environment. I would not recommend coming here. It’s way to out of your way. You can not bar hop. The drinks are over priced. They run out of food fast. They have a small staff so orders are completed slow. I want to go back and change my review but The anime bar left a very poor taste in my mouth. I don’t want to risk the disappointment again. The drive is just not worth.
I tried this place for a girl's night. Some creepy ghost tried to sleep with me. It's haunted and the food sucks. It was also nasty. I told the WOMAN owner what had happened and she victim blamed me.
If you're queer, don't come to this bar. One of the most homophobic experiences I've had in my life. I signed up for karoke an hour before sign ups closed for kareoke battle. No one told me there were two lists. They refused to change it without explanation. When they had no issue doing the same for others. Give your business to people who don't discriminate against you. I can't do anything to fix the discrimination, except for leaving this review. I'm sure it won't change their culture or matter. Their drinks are overpriced. Their staff ignores you. You've been warned.
Pretty cool concept in the burbs of Sugarland. Johnathan, our bartender was a pretty cool cat and gave pretty good service. I usually give 5 star reviews because I’ve been in industry myself and I know how reviews matter. Given all the facts, I give exception to this very specific bar(I have traversed over 60 countries and all 7 continents and visited literally thousands of bars). Everything was going fine until the manger (Mickey, in a condescending and hostile way) told us to put the lid back onto a candy jar at the bar. He then told us to respect the rules of the bar by putting the lid back. Bruh, I’m patronizing this place and you are serving me; why would I need to put a lid back on a jar. (There were no written rules!!!). On top of that, why would you even put a lid on the jar if it’s for the patrons!!! All on all, I hope John and Denise are reading this. This place has so much potential, but you lost a potential regular by a super rude manager. You can run your daily sales report and run my name with whatever sales that you had today from my tab, you could easily multiply this twice a week.
The lady bartending on the end by the video games was very slow. Slow moving, slow thinking, spilling drinks, imbalanced customer service. Meaning she was kind to her friends or regular patrons and a bit snappy with me. I waited patiently for my turn to order didn't say much but hi and just vibes with the atmosphere. And she kept looking at me and ignoring me. I just said ok and walked away. I never got a chance to order. Also, if you don't have a friend, I would caution going, bc the environment is a little clique-ish. But the bar is nice and the atmosphere would be more fun if you did.
