Amazing nabe, highly recommend, and nice apetizers too. But be careful, the nabe portions are big, so be prepared. If you are ready to share the taste and fun with someone - great option!
We are a family of three. We get miso soup as an appetizer and it's very warm. The bathroom and restaurant are both very clean. The food is very fresh. Our kid gets to select an ice cream cone. They have 14 flavors and the shop next door makes the great ice cream. The ice cream was delicious and we left feeling satisfied. The restaurant was quiet but they had amazing service. I will definitely visit again with two older kids as well.
COMES WITH ICE CREAM ON THE HOUSE! ...and tea....and miso soup...and friendly staff... And cozy place. I got their oyako don (chicken and eggs rice bowl) it was tasty, well cooked, juicy, and massive! The green tea ice cream at the end was just perfect to leave a great impression. I will come back. Note: there is a $15 minimum for credit card, but they don't seem to be super strict about it :). menu attached.
Moved here a year and a half ago, and we’ve gone to Seto maybe more than any other nearby restaurant. Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the staff is really sweet and friendly, and the food is always great. Definitely go for the high quality soy sauce!
Seto’s is a quaint spot tucked away in the corner of Sunnyvale. Going to this restaurant is like going back in time, in a good way. Reasonably priced menu (even post Covid), mom and pop owners who greet you warmly, and a homemade taste to their food. You won’t get high end (high nose) vibes here so if that’s what you’re looking for choose another spot, but if you need a peaceful dinner or lunch out they have an extensive menu that can fill you up. They also have a lot of space and traditional seating, so it’s a great spot for large groups. Service is also 10/10, especially when the owners are able to attend to your group. Can’t wait to come back and visit again!
Lovely neighborhood spot. I've passed by easily hundreds of times, but didn't stop because it just doesn't jump out at you from the street. I'm so glad I made a point of stopping in this time. It's really charming inside. I did take out, but the service was outstanding. The food was fresh and flavorful and well prepared. The sushi was visually attractive. Living very close by I will definitely be back. Try it. They deserve the business.
We live in Redwood City and we stumbled on Seto one night when we were down this way shopping. It is one of our favorite places to go for dinner. The sushi is delicious and fresh (I am picky about sushi and do not return to places I don’t like) and I have never had any other dish that I did not like from here. The price point is EXCELLENT for the Bay. No doubt there are many places to eat delicious Japanese food in the Bay, but I love this place for its kind, personable owners/workers and low key atmosphere for a peaceful dinner in addition to its great food.
The food shared by the 6 people in our party was excellent. The calamari was overcooked but all other dishes were delicious. Loved Seto!!! Will be going back soon!!!!
Seto has been around forever and I had only been once my wife has never been but honestly I enjoyed it as did she! Clean, friendly hosts, they use a no contact menu and ordering with your smart phone which I respect. Plenty fast and great food!
Stumbled upon this place when I was visiting from New York and was very impressed! Sushi was excellent and the tempura was absolutely amazing! Found out that they’ve been a tempura house for 50 years and I can absolutely see why. My servers (who may have been the owners) were incredibly kind and attentive. Hot tea refills were very generous and all around was a great meal. So happy I tried it!
Can’t say anything bad about them when you can have a -$12 Katsu Don (pork egg rice) in Bay Area. Please give it a try! I’ve been here multiple times, unagi, chirashi, rice with tea are all good. And I can feel the hospitality atmosphere in the place, seeing people from the neighborhood gatherings here and enjoy the food. Their online contactless order system is also pretty handy. The best I’ve used ever.
We ordered a variety of fresh fish, and it was all delicious. Additional items like the tempura, steamed egg, and little sashimi salads were delightful too. It's not cheap, but we went all out on a dinner here. We had a nice private room in the back, with the traditional floor seating (no shoes inside). You ring a bell for service. They also brought us matcha ice cream at the end, and offered seconds to any of our group who wanted it. Granted, one of my friends was a regular and knows the workers, so we were treated extra well.
I'm surprised the average ratings aren't much higher because this is our favorite sushi in the area. Good food, good service, good pricing.
Love the fish & sides they have. They have other fish besides the usual. I don't eat/get the chips (french fries) so I get fried zucchini or mushrooms &/or ther sides. All the food is great!
The dining space was clean and comfortable. It added to a very pleasant experience.
Hi everyone ,very delicious dish ,I still wanted to go and order different sushi ,it was fresh . They have Contactless ordering system which is too fast ,just you order food with QR code and it goes to the kitchen and you'll see the process in your phone . I love this app ,QR code is much more faster . Love this restaurant.
The restaurant is located in the Sunnyvale neighborhood not that busy in the weekend night. The owner is friendly and polite ask around the table to see if you need anything else. Everything is good with reasonable prices. Will definitely be back.
Everything was very good and the server was really nice! The ordering system is good! You can tell which dishes were ordered by whom on the receipt, and I think this place is really good for group dining!
Enjoyed my meal here. The staff is very kind and attentive. We tried their set meal for two people and goodness it could've fed an extra person comfortably. We got there when they opened and there was not much people so go early when they open and you'll be good to go. They appeared to have a good sake and drink selection I did not partake but will try it next time around! I'd go here again!
Best Japanese restaurant I’ve been to in Sunnyvale! Food was great tasting and authentic, the atmosphere was cozy with an intimate charm, and service was fantastic. Definitely recommend 💯
I drove by 12:45pm this afternoon and saw the county passed health sign will definitely go for dinner tonight since I wasn't able go for lunch.
Decent food at reasonable price. The decor might seem slightly drab, but the quality of the food and ingredients were great, and the serving size was just right. The ice cream at the end left an especially good impression that made me want to come back again.
I was tired of jetlag alredy almost 1week. And finally I caught a cold. I need some soup, make my body warm and healthy. I choose Nabeyaki Udon. Actually I felt something strange. Booze i know Nabe and also Udon. But Nabe+Udon? Never heard about kind of these before. Big sized bowl (yes. This is USA), plenty of veggies, chicken and egg and mushrooms . Soup has full aroma of young cabbage & mushrooms. Noodle's solidity is 'al dente' itself. Very 'even'. I felt my body and soul gonna just awakend. It's more than $14.5. You can be proud of your foods.
Good service and friendly staff. We ordered the bento boxes, myself with the salmon teriyaki and tuna and my wife the tempura and California roll. Both delicious and we'll be back again.
I love it, sat at the sushi bar.. I had great and creative nigiri, and very big ones... the tempura is good, not superlative but a very good one. The roll I had was good and very balanced. But again the nigiri were terrific! The salmon belly button was unforgettable!

Came in late but had delicious large traditional dinners for four of sushi, katsu curry (2), salmon teriyaki, appetizers, and drinks (unlike Japan, we took home lots of leftovers). Very prompt and friendly service (like Japan).
i come here often for lunch and dinner, love the vibe and the food, my favorite is the fish cutlet curry rice, and the seto bento is a really great lunch option. i prefer the kitchen or grill items here over the sushi items. soups, currys, teriyaki, etc but that’s just me try whatever looks good owners are very nice and chatty too, a great and inviting restaurant, a very comfortable dining experience, a must on a cold day

Note: I do not give 5 stars to anything. 5 is perfection and humans are incapable of such (at least for now). 4 stars should be considered a 'perfect review' Wow. Just wow. Unexpected gem in a slightly off the main road location. Went here with my boyfriend and was blown away by the service we received. Since then we have been back on a weekly basis. The food is INCREDIBLE. The nigiri and sashimi are so fresh you could hear it swim (not literally of course!), and the cuts are very generous. The tempura (this is a tempura house!) is fantastic; not too breaded but just enough for that nice light battered flavour. The sake selection is good, too. Their cold soba is FANTASTIC, especially on a hot summer night. I have yet to try their sukiyaki but I plan on it soon. The manager is from Tokyo, and the chef is as well. If you speak fluent Japanese this place will be a good way to keep it up. My only regret is that I don't have enough money to come here on a daily basis. I will upload more pictures over the weekend when I go back. Ignore my small amount of sake in the pic; I was the DD so I couldn't have too much and I'm a lightweight.
If you're looking to try a new sushi place definitively check out Seto Sushi. The parking and building entrance confused me a little at first. You park in the back, walk all the way around the building, then the doors are in the front and center of the building. You can also park in the street in front of the building. As for the food, I chose the California roll, and something else similar to the California roll. Both were tasty and quickly brought to the table. Miso soup is included in your meal. My drink was slightly unsatisfying. I asked for half Spirit and hair lemonade. My drink tasted like deluded lemonade. I intentionally ask for this drink to test out the waiters/restaurants ability to do something differently than the normal drinks. That aside, this place is worth a second visit for me.
Overall, a good place to dine. The tonkatsu was delicious, and the sashimi set we ordered was also quite good. However, the beef skewer appetizer arrived at the very end, which was disappointing, and it wasn’t great in terms of taste. The atmosphere is authentic and calm, making it a pleasant spot to enjoy a meal.
Food tasted good, not perfect. Everything seemed really fresh, a huge plus for raw fish in my opinion. Appetizer was very nice. Service was perfect, must be said I was at a time with not a lot of people.
Great food great customer service..my second time here things have changed..thanks to Rona..but all good in the hood. Perhaps one thing would be a plus if they added pictures next to order on menu app or provide menu when ordering from app(whatever the QR code thingmabob)..especially for those who eating sushi for first time. Oh yea food was bomb.🧨👍 Will definitely come back again! 🤙

Good value and good food. Just that the restaurant can use a serious make over. It doesn't look very inviting at all when you step into the door.

We had a short amount of time for dinner and my wife wanted sushi. Seto was the closest so we decided to try it out. The restaurant looks decent on the outside but on the inside you immediately notice the uneven floors, the old decor and the strong smells from the fish and chips restaurant attached to Seto. We were also the only patrons and it remained that way throughout dinner. It appeared that most of Seto's business was takeout. With regards to the food, my wife was quite impressed with the Nigiri Supreme. She thought it was very fresh. I thought was quite disappointed with my Kitsune Soba. There was very little Soba and only two pieces of fried tofu.
Under staff and food is not as good as before, especially beef teriyaki, used to be very good, kind of disappointed
The staff was so nice and helpful . Shrimp was not washed therefore i didnt eat it. I personally did not enjoy the food made my stomach hurt for 3 days.
Between 2-3, rounded up for super friendly waitress Angelina. Food was on the cheaper side for dinner, but SO salty. Decor was cute, even had a room. Building looks really odd.

Ordered a nigiri sushi deluxe and overall the fish and seafood was bad and expensive, service was slow. I would pick Kura over this. Not sure why it's got good ratings on Google, but probably cuz there are fish and chips restaurant reviews mixed in here.
We ordered lots of skewers and none are satisfactory. Meat is dry and firm, and lacks the flavor. Two of us ordered plum wine and they came in two different kind of cups 🤷🏽
I am quite disappointed with my experience at this establishment. While the fish tempura I ordered was satisfactory, my husband's teriyaki chicken was unappetizing due to its excessive fat content and lack of flavor. The service was notably subpar, with infrequent check-ins from our server, though he was otherwise pleasant. The most concerning incident occurred after we had paid and were leaving; a female staff member pursued us to our car, demanding a tip. Our decision not to leave a gratuity was a direct reflection of our dissatisfaction with both the service and the meal. This particular interaction was highly unprofessional and frankly, quite embarrassing. Consequently, I cannot recommend this establishment. I advise against spending your time or money here.

Fist time there and I can't say I'm impressed. To start, the customer or lack of costumer service for me makes or breaks my experience. I did see the mixed reviews prior to visiting here but decided to visit and experience for my self, i do love good Japanese restaurants. The food isn't great, it's rather plain with hardly any taste. Bring your phone because they don't provide menus, their online menu provides very limited information about each dish and ther pictures are low quality, hard to tell what's on the dish. The staff isn't friendly and they Lack customer service, after we sat, we didn't see anyone until it was time to pay for the bill...we did have this guy without a uniform offer a tea refill, which never made it to our table. I do not recommend this place.
I went this place with my family. It took more than 1.5 hours to get the food. Sushi taste was not good. Not good experience at all!
When I stopped by the restaurant this evening, I found a closure notice posted by the County of Santa Clara Department of Environmental Health. I presume the restaurant will reopen after they correct the issues. The report dated today at the County website says: Inspector Observations: FOUND DEAD COCKROACHES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: ON THE FOOD PREP TABLE NEAR THE 3 COMPARTMENT SINK, ON DISHES UNDER THE CENTER FOOD PREP TABLE, ON THE FOOD PREP TABLE AT THE SUSHI BAR.
