DELICIOUS! I feel like this spot is so underrated. I stopped by here last month on a whim with a couple friends for dinner and was so pleasantly surprised. I believed I got their super taco and a hard taco shell, with lengua and cabeza (or pollo?) and wow, delicious! The service was quick and the order was fairly affordable, considering the current prices in this economy. I also enjoyed the fact that there was a free chips and salsa bar. Is this a whole in the wall? Yes. Is it a bit grungy? Also, yes. But this place is exactly what you expect and does the job done when you want some yummy Mexican food. I'll definitely be coming here again when I'm in the area.

This is a pretty solid Mexican restaurant with lots of seating, a big salsa bar and free chips, and a wild variety of classic taqueria eats on its menu. I got the giant quesadilla with birria meat and it was huge and stuffed with cheese and juicy birria meat. It was simple but so so good.

I ordered a Molcajete and a Jarrito Drink. I spent $41.31 The Molcajete comes with 7 tortillas, additional can be purchased but for the size of the molcajete I think you should get 10 tortillas.

We randomly dropped in. Loved the music. It was late, busy, and I knew I was in the right place. Food was INCREDIBLE. Hands down the best burrito I have had in years!! We had carnival and let me tell you, nothing short of The best. They were fast, no frills and I can't wait to go back

Local taqueria joint…nothing fancy but food is very good and of good value. Service is efficient. I always get the Pastor super burrito which is greasy but delicious or the generous carnitas fries. Usually do take out. There’s a chip and salsa bar that’s complimentry.

An unassuming taqueria next to the Chavez Mexican Market in Sunnyvale. We were in the mood for some comfort Mexican food and so glad to have found this place. The menu is extensive. They have colorful photos of selected items in the wall, which definitely helps people who don’t speak Spanish. We ordered an enchilada plate with three different types of enchiladas, a wet burrito, and a birria plate (a beef stew in red sauce). It’s a casual place. You order the food at the cashier and they will bring the food to the table you choose to sit down. No tips were required. The price was very reasonable, the serving size was huge, and the foods were all tasty, definitely hitting the spot. My daughter loved the chorizo enchilada so much that she ordered a second serving. They also have complimentary self-served tortilla chips and different types of salsa. The chili oil was surprisingly aromatic but mildly hot, and we would add it to anything to spice it up. The red and green salsa were also very good. Some other popular items we noticed were the shrimp cocktails served with Mexican beers. The service staff were very friendly and patient. We are so glad we have found our favorite Mexican restaurant in Sunnyvale, “Three Little Horses”!

Excellent food - a regular joint for lots of locals. No frills, decent service, but the food and salsas are worthy of an award. Bless the people who stay true to their roots, and serve a plateful of nostalgia with every meal - a taste of home! Thank you Tres Potrillos. Bravo, hicieron muy bien!! And for the brave ones, go for ab adventure, try their spicy salsa with the chips! Ooh que rico!!

This is the local favorite spot for excellent Mexican food in the Sunnyvale in Mountain View area. This Taqueria has excellent food, great service, a cool, local atmosphere, and unlimited chips and salsa with homemade spicy dressings if you are a fan of Mexican food and you live in the area, this should be your first stop. The Taqueria is located in an outdoor plaza near a Mexican food store, liquor store, and others. Parking can be difficult sometimes, but you will eventually find a spot. Parking is free. The location is visible from fair Oaks Avenue. The food here is Taqueria style, which means not too fancy, but also high quality. The highlight here is the chips and salsa bar which is unlimited and self served. They have multiple different sauces which range from very spicy to mild. They serve many different, Mexican plates, Mexican snacks, and they also serve beer. The service is friendly, and you order everything at the counter. There is indoor and outdoor seating. This place is highly popular so if you arrive at a busy time, you might be sitting close to someone. There is a reason this is the favorite in Taqueria location in Sunnyvale area. I recommend you at least visit this location once.

awesome place - don't know how in the world I hadn't gone there before. It is a no-frills place but the food is awesome! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the counter and they bring the food to the table. Lots of the traditional options, seafood, soups, enchiladas, tacos and then some :) Today I tried the tres tacos - 2 chicken and 1 al pastor. They are the street style tacos - so not too big. They also have a grande. The three tacos were awesome! Loads of meat (see pictures) was amazed at how much there was - great value at 9 and change. The flavors were also very good, spicy but not too hot. They have free unlimited salsas and chips but would caution on going crazy because you need the space for all the good food!

Insanely great, authentic Mexican food. Tons of variety in the menu, unlimited chips and salsa, and plenty of seating. Really enjoyed this Mexican food. 10/10 would recommend.

We ordered a carne asada green wet burrito and it was very good and huge size. The chips are a bit dry but okay. The strawberry agua Fresca was tasty but we didn’t like the cucumber one it had a weird after taste.

Entrees were filling and flavored nicely. Seating was crowded, and lines ran thru enter restaurant at times, so ppl stood next to you while you ate. Orders took a lil while but worth the wait. Overall good but weekends are too busy.

I was craving a molcajete, and this place was the closest to my hotel. That being said, I had ordered the Molcajete De Mariscos and my brother ordered the other molcajete . Tres Portrillos is a neighborhood restaurant that has a variety of food options from tacos to burritos to soup. I tried the pozole and felt the flavors clashed. The portion though was massive and it seems other food items are great value as well. Staff is friendly and parking is free/easy in the lot.

If I were to rate the portions alone, I would give them 10/10. I liked how I got those two big plates for only $37! The taste was good but not outstanding. The atmosphere was not comfortable, but that might depend on your personal preference. If you want to be full without paying too much, I would recommend it.

Food used to be excellent! The last two to three years it’s SO bland. I am pretty sure they changed staff because I don’t see some of the people that were there before. The reviews are correct they’re expensive now and they have cut back on the portion a lot. Two years ago i ordered a carnita burrito I was extremely tired and came home to eat and after two bites there was a silver piece of brillo from cleaning the table or floors in my burrito. I have a strong stomach but i near threw up! I was not feeling well and did not return to put them on blast or get my money back. I think back and regret not calling them out but i was not well that day so they got a pass. I mean this pice of brillo was BIG. I didn’t return for a couple of years because every time i thought of them i felt a little queasy. I’ve been back now a couple of times and as i said, food is SO bland and tasteless. So disappointed! I used to order from here and their food was good and good portions. I ordered a super burrito with carnitas, rice, cheese and light pinto beans.. The burrito had a little of carnitas and cheese! If I wanted a bean and rice burrito, I would have ordered that! There carnitas doesn’t taste like real carnitas! No more for me. I wouldn’t recommend this place! Do better or keep losing customers!
