This place is in a sleepy shopping center, but is THE BEST restaurant for miles. Delicious fresh food, great service and they deliver too. Definitely recommend.

Best Hatian Food I ever had. I live far into Dade County and I will travel here instead of buying Hatian food in Dade. Serving sizes are great Prices are great and customer service is excellent. You can taste every single seasoning reminiscing with your taste buds, the succulent Juices Encountering in your mouth,leaves you wanting more,you can hear the Chanting Of your ancestors encouraging you to continue to eat when your full to the max.

Food was excellent. I am Trinidadian and enjoy food from all islands, and this is the best Hatian restaurant I have ever eaten from. The food is tasty and the portions are more than enough.

Our favorite Haitian restaurant in Broward county. Parking is congested at times because of the drivers license place, mostly because they park in H&R's reserved parking. I Love ordering ahead online and it's always quickly ready and their food is well seasoned and fresh tasting 🤤

The restaurant was easy to find and there's reserved parking. You can smells the food as soon as you walk in the door. The staff are very friendly and have great customer service. The food was ready in less than 10 minutes and was perfectly cooked.

I never leave reviews, but this place deserves a great compliment. Food was great and HUGE portions. Served quick and staff took care of us like we where regulars. It made the start to my father's day great.. Highly recommended..

I’m munching on their delicious cabrit in the parking lot as I’m writing this... I’m very impressed. The goat meat is cooked to perfection; a subtle crunch on the outside with a savory juicy inside. The presentation was beautiful, with nice sized fresh green plantains small side salad & black rice which was to die for. Will be returning as I used to drive way to Miami to find authentic Haitian food..

We eat here almost every week. There is a bit of a wait because the food is made to order so that it's fresh. I love this place air wish I could take them with me when I move out of town next year 🙁. Ummm yummy, their Chicken fingers and legume are very tasty. I like these dishes better than any of the others.

The food is ready on time and the fried fish is delicious. I wish they had more soup but it's ok their are other great dishes on the menu. The rice and beans is excellent. This is a haitian-american restaurant so PLEASE know what you want before you order. Every thing on the menu is delicious so take your time and enjoy the music 🎶 and good vibes.

Ordered oxtail and chicken in sauce. It was served with red beans and rice and fried green plantains. Flavors on point! I think oxtails can be a disappointment in the amount of meat you receive vs rice. I didn't take away a star since it was soooo good and had a spicy kick to it. Overall good service experience and delicious food.

The side of macaroni was flavorful, hot and delicious. It had so many layers of flavor from the peppers to the epis. I'm not too happy about the price for but given that most restaurants nearby don't sell side of macaroni I'll give them props overall. I had no issues with customer service.

Been here many times and enjoyed it but this time the cashier had a terrible attitude. Food was packaged messy, my other half complained about his food as well. This was the 1st time this happened so I'm not knocking them but it's something that can be worked on to get better.

I ordered Oxtail and this is what a $16 lunch special looked like….👀 more bones than oxtails. There was literally 2-3 partial oxtail pieces. When I got back to work and opened the container, I was shocked.

I was visually impressed via Instagram but my taste buds were not. My parents are Haitian so I’m pretty used to Haitian food so I had rather high expectations. As expected, there was no customer service. I said good evening in creole and I got a rather dry response so I’m diverted back to English. I got the Tassot Turkey Simp and Lemon Pepper Wings. The Tassot Turkey was nothing special to be honest and it I didn’t really taste the seasoning. One thing Haitian food is know for is heavy seasonings so I was pretty shocked at the lack of flavor. There this thing called “epiz” and I think they need to use more of it. The plantation were good though, it’s kind of hard to mess that up. The Lemon Pepper Wings were simply too salty. The wings were tossed in some dry rub but sitting in a pool of salted butter. All in all, it wasn’t that bad. But try for yourselves.

Cashier and service was excellent. the meal is a whole other world. Left a lot to be desired.

Ordered a griot and a fried tilapia ....got more rice than anything neither was worth the price. food was ok nothing special . Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone

Ok I thought it was just me being picky but now reading the reviews AFTER ordering I realized I'm not alone. (I work in food service so I'm not usually one to complain but I also know there should be some standards for customer service). First, don't order online, they charge a convenience fee which I actually find understandable because I know those services cost money and going through an app is easier than calling, BUT in addition to that they up the prices and don't include their specials listed in the store. I guess maybe that keeps the fee lower than it would be so still not tooo mad about that, but the real issue is I think they don't always check their online orders... I get there at the time quoted for my order (20 mins), and I am barely greeted, just a blank look up after *I* say a friendly "Hi, how you doing!:)" No smile back at me, just a very bland "Hi." I tell them I have an online order, they look for it on the screen and tell me "Not ready yet, it'll be about 10 more minutes." I get some dishes take time, but if that's the case just be realistic about your quote times... and no, it wasn't busy, I was the only one in there when I came in so that doesn't seem to be the likely cause for wait either... Either way, I get it, maybe the website just puts in standard times or maybe they forgot to check it, again, I work in food service, we are human, sh*t happens. Usually i would apologize for making a guest wait longer than expected, especially at lunch time cause you never know if someone is using up their break to wait here even though they already planned ahead and ordered beforehand, but 10 mins didn't seem TOO terrible so I tried to brush off the lack of apology, politely said okay,  and sat to wait... 10 mins go by... 15 mins go by... finally about 20 mins later, bag is plopped on the counter, "It's ready." Still just a blank expression on the other side of the counter. And then *I*  end up being the one to say "Thank you, have a good one!"  Just to get the most dry "You too." replied back. So yea, I waited twice the quoted amount, about 40 mins, for food, but it  wouldn't be nearly as annoying if there was just SOME level of customer service. I wait tables, I'd be lying if I said I NEVER forgot to put in orders, but I at least offer an apology for the wait, thank the guest for their patience and even outside of mistakes, I try to be at least SOMEWHAT hospitable even on my worst days, cause I signed up to do customer service, and ESPECIALLY since this place expects tips....I try to maintain a certain standard because I expect tips, so I guess I just get disappointed when I'm not offered the same standard.  Which is also another reason why NOT to order online, you tip there before receiving the order, I've heard TIPS to stand for To Insure Prompt/Polite Service. So here I am tipping for service that was barely polite and very NOT prompt. I mean food is okay, big portions, but griot (fried pork) was a little dry, nothing I would normally be apt to complain about if the rest of the experience was good, but if I'm getting dry service AND dry pork... and then come to find out from other reviews that this apparently seems to be their standard... meh. Work is around the corner, so for the price value maybe I'll give a second chance on a different dish and just make sure to call instead of ordering online... but I won't be dying to come back or anything.

I was so excited to find a Haitian resteraunt near me. I ordered the griot and rice and peas! My taste buds were literally screaming. I must say that the rice and peas was amazing. I was not to fond of the griot. 95% of my griot was fried extremely hard and I could not even bite it. I was little disappointed but I will definitely give them a second shot.

H & R Grill use to be one of my favorite restaurants but with the recession going on the taste of the food is not the same (In my opinion the food is tasteless no flavor). You are paying more for less. It seems that staffing has gone down also. They do have a lunch special from 11am-2pm but on only selected items.

I was surprised the food was not bad. I ordered fried chicken. But this place needs a improvement in customer service. The young lady in the front didn’t even say hi to us, she barely talked to us. I almost felt intimidated to order. I have never felt that one before. That’s why the place is empty

Heard about this place when they opened, but this is my first time eating here. The food was average. It didn't have the authentic Haitian flavors. However, my children enjoyed their food. I enjoyed listening to the music that was playing in the restaurant. The lady at the counter is nice and friendly.

The only reason why I’m going to give this such a hard three is because at first he used to be a five for me but they went up on the prices. The plates used to be around $16-$20 now everything is 25 to $35-$40 a fish is $60. That is insane.

Pedí rabo de buey y así se veía un especial de almuerzo de $16... 👀 más huesos que rabos de buey. Había literalmente dos o tres piezas de rabo de buey. Cuando volví al trabajo y abrí el envase, me quedé atónito.

It was a miss. Rice hard and dry. I do not like to use a lot of the sauce because too much oil of course, but that couldn't help the dryness. I do not know why they serve this to customer. I ran out of sauce and rice still dry. Good rice do not even need much sauce. Also, the portion of meat to rice is not it. This was a x-large serving of rice with small amount meat. No good. Being the rice is 80% of the plate I was not satisfied with meal. At least the meat taste good though.

The young lady wasn't very welcoming : / that took my order. Not to me anyways but the next young man to enter at least got some laughs and a smile out of her.

I placed two of the same orders I asked them to put the fried plantains from my order in the other order but they didn't listen. So I went home with fried plantains that I didn't want. It seems like every time I go there something wrong with my order. Don't think I will be going back.

This was the first Haitian restaurant I ever went to where the food was flavorless! Imagine my shock and disappointment. I hoped this was a one time thing, but their past reviews only confirm my experience. I can not recommend this place.

Usually I order from this restaurant through Uber eats however I decided to stop in today and unfortunately that was a big mistake. If I ever order from here I’d only do Uber eats. The woman handling orders has terrible manners and service. Also not giving correct times for when the food is done in addition to was not wearing a mask.

Decent food but depending on who is at the checkout counter, the service is not always the greatest in terms of friendliness. A few of the folks there are quite friendly, but there is one 🥴.........

I would say that their food does not taste bad , however expecting proper customer service should be expected not hopeful. Two stars is generosity because the food isn’t bad, but in a customer service atmosphere, you should excel at that. If your order is wrong don’t expect them to compromise, and correct it... the blame will be placed on you... the customer. Consistently I’ve had them deny simple request that makes my mind boggled. I’ve ordered food there and asked for white rice and beans to be separated from the meat because my daughter is picky, they said no, and that’s no if’s and but. Recently I called and explicitly requested white rice and beans, the person taking the order must not have heard the white rice and beans and gave us “diri kole.” Which is not even white rice at all. Upon receiving the meal, I politely informed them that the rice was wrong and they told me that’s what I ordered and wouldn’t budge. Normally restaurant either take the meal from you and correct it but they choose to argue with me instead about it. Eventually I got a refund and realized that I won’t be giving them my service if you can not own up to your mistake.

I've been coming to this place for years now and sometimes it's a hit and sometimes it's a miss but the food is always good today was my final straw I will not be coming back to this place I ordered a dish called legume which is supposed to have meat in it as well as vegetables but for whatever reason whenever I go to these Haitian restaurants they always give you more vegetables than meat if you're paying almost 18 $19 for a meal you should at least get at least two to three pieces of meat I even offered to pay an extra $5 to get more meat when I got the food home I had take out and I opened the container there was only one piece of beef in there and there was like a fat from other turkey or a chicken that was not from the meat and the rest was vegetables I was so disappointed I tried to support black businesses the best that I can but what's the point of supporting you when you not giving me what I asked for we try to support you guys but you always find a way to let us down and what I mean by that you never give us what we pay for we have to stop spending our money where we're not wanted or respected I could go to any other restaurant and by the same dish but I came to yours and this is what you do to me it's pathetic how some businesses run their business Don't be surprised when people stop coming to your business

He estado viniendo a este lugar durante años y a veces es un éxito y a veces un fracaso, pero la comida siempre es buena. Hoy fue mi gota que colmó el vaso. No volveré a este lugar. Pedí un plato llamado legumbres que se supone que tiene carne y verduras, pero por alguna razón, siempre que voy a estos restaurantes haitianos, siempre te dan más verduras que carne. Si pagas casi 18 $ 19 por una comida, al menos deberías obtener al menos dos o tres piezas de carne. Incluso ofrecí pagar $ 5 adicionales para obtener más carne cuando llevé la comida a casa. Pedí comida para llevar y abrí el contenedor. Solo había un trozo de carne allí y había como grasa de otro pavo o un pollo que no era de la carne y el resto eran verduras. Estaba tan decepcionado. Traté de apoyar a los negocios negros lo mejor que pude, pero ¿de qué sirve apoyarlos cuando no me dan lo que pedí? Tratamos de apoyarlos, pero siempre encuentran una manera de decepcionarnos y lo que quiero decir con eso es que nunca nos dan lo que pagamos. Fue un error. Arroz duro y seco. No me gusta usar mucha salsa porque hay demasiado aceite, por supuesto, pero eso no ayuda a que se seque. No sé por qué le sirven esto al cliente. Se me acabó la salsa y el arroz aún estaba seco. Un buen arroz ni siquiera necesita mucha salsa. Además, la ración de carne con arroz no lo es. Esta era una porción extragrande de arroz con una pequeña cantidad de carne. Nada bueno. Como el arroz es el 80% del plato, no quedé satisfecho con la comida. Al menos la carne sabe bien.

THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE CLOSED DOWN. THERE IS ALWAYS AN ISSUE. There’s always a problem. Either HAIR is in the food(second time) or they give you old plantains that are refried. I go over there and complain the cook had the audacity to tell me that I’m always complaining. THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN !

I wished i could give this location no star due to the way I was treated today. I ordered three plates of food over the phone and all plates were incorrect.(incorrect rices, missing condiments, and incorrect drinks) I called to advised that there was an error, the rep that answered states that I did know what came and defended the employee who took my order. Please use this a coach opportunity, to train you employees NOT TO ARGUE with your customers, because we support your business. I will not be returning to restaurant and since I am not valued as a returning customer. #ShameIlikedthefoodlookingforanewspot

I would never order here again. The sous pwa was tasteless, the red sauce is made with tomato juice not traditional tomato paste (sous tomat) which is evident. They skimp around here and it shows! They also charge extra credit card processing fees which they do not disclose to customers! Too many other options than to eat here again.

I went there on a Sunday the Food was sooooo Good. I referred my co workers the next day...Now it's time to order lunch at 11:43am anticipating it to arrive at 12:30pm the food never came I called around 1:49pm I called to find out where the food was and why is it taking so long...The receptionist at the restaurant tells me "She dropped it off to an office is Sawgrass" after being frustrated and hungry I told her to have her come back out with the food...Got put on hold and transferred to another young lady to the point I said F*** it just refund me my money $32 hunger and Freustration!!! Next time I'll pick it up Food is Awesome tho!!!

Subpar food, horrible service. The one time we ordered from there the man who answered the phone was rude beyond belief. A simple question about their menu brought on an aggressive tirade from this man who sounded so bitter. I was flabbergasted at how clueless they were about customer service. We are still raw from this experience.

Normally don’t write reviews but this time I had too. I have had the food at this restaurant before over 2 years ago but today I picked up some chicken and macaroni and cheese . The chicken was hard and it felt like it was over cooked or recooked. The whole house has the runs. Never again. Sorry guys you need to do better.

The lady at the front counter was very rude! I was at the DMV all day and was very hungry because I am pregnant. I came in and nobody was at the front ready to take my order so I ring the bell and the lady just carelessly walked over without greeting me. I explained to her my situation and she didn’t even care. I then told her if I can get something else other than 2 plantains with my lunch special and she told me I can get extra rice but I didn’t receive it and was too hungry to dispute. The food was not even good. I had to throw the rest away! Do not waste your time there are better Haitian restaurants out there with good customer service.

This will be my second time going here simply because my usual restaurant was out of bouyon. My first time here I ordered a fritay everything tasted weird and the meat well there was no meat, what I got was a plate of bones. The bouyon today was more like a soup. For $9 it was served in a plastic container, absolutely no taste and was extremely watered down. Maybe if I had no knowledge of how it’s actually supposed to taste or if I didn’t have another 10x better restaurant in the area I frequent, I would not have been as disappointed. Their prices are a lot higher as well but totally not worth it, I suggest going to JJ’s Gourmet in Sunrise you will see the difference. I hate to write such a negative review but my hope is that they step it up. Give your food more flavor. A bouyon is supposed to be a hearty meal where you taste the meat and the rest of the items in every sip of the liquid not watery. Provide people with meat, don’t cut corners on the ingredients or else lower your prices.

This used to be my go to spot for Haitian food but my last two experiences leave much to be desired. A few weeks ago I ordered legume and had it delivered via UberEats. A few bites in I was greeted with a long strand of hair. I decided to take a break ordering from the restaurant for a while in the hopes that things would be better..... but unfortunately they weren’t. I placed my order an hour ahead of time and still had to wait for my order to be ready. Also, I requested extra sauce for my rice to which the server gave me two extra. I told her I wanted more and would pay for it (which is usually what I do when I order from UberEats since that option is available).... and of course she still refused. So after paying over $20 for food I am now standing in front of my stove making sauce because this lady refused to allow me to pay for it. Come on Haitian people... it’s 2020 it’s ok for your customers to pay for sauce to eat with the massive plate of rice that you serve. That being said.... I won’t be going back.

Food was terrible, I ordered a Grio it wasn’t fried correctly and the rice taste as if they didn’t wash it, worse Pikliz I’ve ever taste in my life I didn’t even touch the plantain it looked so dry. I also got teo Haitian Pattie’s they were harder than a rock!!! garbage straight!!!

I placed an order over ubereats, not only was the store apparently closed but the Ubereats page was saying open, I couldn't get my food and ubereats refused to give me a refund because I didn't know I had to take a pic of the store being closed.

I paid $29 and change. The fried plantains were old black and greasy. The fried pork were skins hardly any meat.

Straight up fired a girl in the front and get a new chef end of story. Because when I first came, the couple that opened up the company was so happy. The food was good.Whoever runs the front right now.She has the worst type of energy to put at the front to be greeting people. She makes you not want to come back. Been coming for 8+ years, food is not the same and the energy you're greeted with is dry and unfriendly. Seems everything income in. Food goes up and down. But lately,too many times in a row. Food is dry. Rice not steamed long enough meat bland, at least my selection, or maybe the food's from previous days. I don't think ill be back.

Fish was old and not fresh! Wasted $30!

I am 100% Haitian & I know what fresh taste like.. I also know what left overs taste like. The food they serve is definitely NOT fresh. I used to order the spaghetti a lot year ago. It was delicious!! Now it old left over spaghetti being served everyday ! I stopped buying. The lady in the front is disgusting! I order for pick up. Get to the restaurant 30 mins later & my order still isn’t ready. I won’t be coming back here ! It just isn’t worth it.

I went to the place yesterday. December 28, 2022. This lady in the front did not even say hi to us . She was also very intimidating. She doesn’t listen or respond to what you have to say. When the food was ready, she carried the food like it was bag of trash. I have ordered catering for a party in the past. I have never experienced something like that until yesterday. Stay away from this place. The customer service is awful !!!
