Came here on a whim with the my GF mid afternoon. We shared a small greek salad and a medium pizza with feta and artichoke. The salad was plentiful for two people with the contents spilling over. The pizza was a good size with just the right amount of toppings for how thin the crust was. New York fold doable! The crust was bake just right to hold the toppings. It was on the sweeter side and was not embellished with herbs and such. Just a good crust overall. Service was great granted there were only 6 tops when we arrived. Live music on Wed and Sun apparently. We will need to check it out.
I'm extremely picky about pizza and absolutely loved the cheese slices I got! Great atmosphere and prices.
This combo right here. Slice of Life has the best Greek salad Ive ever eaten. This is a small and imo, is perfect for one person. Pair it with a Wilmington Brewing’s Tropical Lightning IPA and a slice of cheese pizza. Its a regular stop for me in Wilmington, NC Hard working staff at every location; a well oiled business machine. ~Beans
Waiter recommended upgrades to the White pizza - it DID NOT disappoint. Delicious pizza, away from the busy street, lots of indoor and outdoor sitting. Check it out!
Pizza is amazing. The nachos are big enough for 2, maybe 3. Wing are to die for. They have several beers and Tequilas to choose from. Their service is amazing and they are on top of your ever need. I was very happy with both the food and service I received today.
Great food and service. Pizza and wings are world class. Menu limited in choices, Howe makes it easy to select what you like. And nice music playing in the background.
Great Pizza! By the slice if you choose. My wife loves their tacos. Service was very good and the place was clean.
The place was awesome and so was the food. We got a pepperoni pizza and wings and it was delicious. Beer selection is also amazing.
Great food and drinks! Ryan the bartender was awesome as were his drinks !
Staff here are great! Friendly, accommodating, and great food. Perfect spot for pizza and wings.
Very friendly. Big place, lots of tvs. Great pizza. However, the restaurant could use a little cleaning. The air ducts on the ceilings and the back of a TV were so dusty, dust particles were falling around us. Also, the servers were not using an ice scoop. The floor around the icemaker was very wet. Will give it another try because of the great quality of the food.
Nick was one of the friendliest servers I have ever met! I can't stress that enough. He is an asset to your company. Pizza and wings were very tasty. Food came out quickly and Nick was very attentive after the food came out, which is rare. Your small salads are overpriced.
Food and drinks were great! The host seemed like he couldn’t care less. He sat us and then continued to walk by us over and over for the next 15 minutes. We overheard the bartender ask if anyone had helped us yet and the host said we had just been sat. The bartender told him we had been sitting for at least 10 minutes. The bartender then took our order and served us the rest of the night. Great place. Clean, bartender was super friendly, good food. I would definitely have a talk with the host who wears basketball shorts and doesn’t seem to care though.
Great pizza. Fun bar atmosphere. Attentive service.
Best pizza in town. Thank you for all the work you do.
I accidentally ordered at the wrong location. The staff was extremely customer service oriented. Rusty was what every employee should be. They fixed my pizza quickly and was very polite about the whole thing. I will never go to another pizza place to order pizza except here. They definitely deserve my business
Slice of Life is a great pizza place. Bar is great, food is better than average. Service staff on point.
Was able to walk from our hotel. Food, was great they were very accomadating ! Added extra seating for more friends.comfortable
I ordered a pizza online and it didn't come through on their end, systems glitch, no biggy at all. They were quick to rectify the situation and get my pizza in the oven. They made sure I was waited on and gave me a beer on the house for my troubles. They asked if I needed anything while I waited and were sure to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. Amazing bar manager y'all got over there. 10/10!
Love hanging out at Porters Neck Slice of Life! Food is great and the beers ice cold ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🍻
We did take out so didn’t get to experience the atmosphere but the order was made perfect! It’s decent pizza and wings. Nothing crazy special, but it does the job and isn’t too greasy or cheesy! I would’ve ordered a whole pie with the kale pesto but the extra toppings are just too expensive on top of the base line pie price.. The Greek salad is amazing, recommend theirs over a lot of similar joints.
The pizza at this place is the best! The musician they had was high caliber and if I wasn't with my family I would have stayed more for all the different beer they had too
My friends & I love coming here. Both while out having a few drinks or even completely sober. Price is good for great pizza. Portions are perfect as well.
Grabbed lunch here. Location is kind of hidden. Got the lunch special of two slices and the pasta salad. Tasted great.
Always have enjoyed it here . Never had a complaint here with food or drink , service at times can be spotty I’ll admit if theyre busy but that’s few and far between . The ice cream sandwiches are top tier , strongly recommend, and locally made! Been plenty of times before and will be back plenty more.
I have only ordered pizza by the slice but it has always been perfect. Little pricey for BTS but it is what it is. The wings here are fantastic!! Large wings not that Toney crap from mini baby chicks
Nice atmosphere ; family friendly; sports. We were there the second week they were open - super busy. Took a bit to get our server (she was great) but that’s to be expected when it is that busy. Seemed like everyone wanted to try out the new place that night. Family loved the pizza - I thought the wings were done right and with their good beer selection, all was well. Looking forward to returning and sitting outside (looked like an outdoor stage).
The pizza could have had more pepperoni on it. Kinda greasy on top. Crust was good.
Pizza was excellent, we had 18 inch sausage and artichoke toppings. The wings were a bit soggy, for my taste. The service was good but slow, for how busy it was. The atmosphere was a typical sports bar atmosphere. Were told we could not eat on the patio. Overall I'd recommend this place for pizza 🍕.
Pizza here is meh and not worth the price. Service was good, beer was cold, and the games were on. But there are better pizza places in the area that don’t charge $25 bucks for a medium pizza. Won’t be coming back.
We waited over an hour for a simple medium sized white pizza. After taking with the manager, he waved the pizza and gave us complimentary drinks. Overall the service was less than desirable.
We had a table of 8, half adults and half kids. Our orders came out one at a time. When the last adult meal came to the table the children were finished their meals. Other adults let their food sit and cool to wait for everyone to be served. Unfortunately poor planning in the kitchen cost the waitress a nice tip. Some of the condiments requested never came.
We sat for 30min and no one waited on us. We watched these two servers(pic1) serve every one else around us. These people next to us just sat down😞 They were served immediately(pic2). This was finally our waiter and he was very apologetic, he tried to make us feel at ease. The live music was nice, but the delay in service was disappointing 😞
The waitress was nice and attending. The "Tomato Basil" was a full jar of Marinara Sauce with cheese sprinkle on it
We normally love Slice of life at Pine Valley but when on vacation at Figure 8 we ordered 3 large pizzas $106 to go on 7/15/25. The pizza was not good at all. The cheese was hard on top and just very dry pizza. (Did take a picture)Such a disappointment. We had one whole pizza left untouched. We didn’t call because being on Vacation with a large family time slipped away.
average food. Waitress did not take time to listen to our request. Orders came out sporadically. Waited one hour for a sandwich to arrive. I would have left, but was with family. 8-23-2025 5:45
Was going to eat here and saw that a simple pepperoni pizza was going to be $28 so we went to Italian Bistro where the pizza was about $8 cheaper and just as good. We got pizza and wings for the price we would have paid for just a pizza.
Overcooked, dried out, not much taste. What has happened to one of my favorite places? I had not ordered or been in, in about six months. It will be much longer before I call or come in again. Leathery is best description I can think of now.
Use to go here pretty often but just went today and the experience was super uncomfortable. The bartender made an “omg I love you” comment to my boyfriend within like 2 minutes of us sitting down that made us both feel weird.. pretty strange no matter the context of the conversation. Continue ordering and while we’re eating one of the girls is talking about creating an only fans and posting naked videos? Like why are talking about that while guests are eating right next to you… food was okay but overall the experience was just uncomfortable and did not make us want to come back
My visit was 3 December 2021 for dinner before my Wilmington Historic 5K the next day. I didn’t know what to eat but was tired from my drive, I read the reviews which to me were not hitting high but I figured I would give them a try. My order was a takeout and I did have a beer while I waited. Figured one slice of pepperoni pizza and some garlic parmesan wings. Place looked nice, staff were very pleasant, atmosphere seem nice. So, my slice of pizza should have been the only thing I got. It was okay, but pictures say a lot, but the wings were horrible. Not cooked well, some cheap garlic sauce thrown on them and parmesan in a container to the side. Really. At least they could soak the wings in the garlic sauce. Then I really can’t believe the cook or preparer actually picked up the celery sticks, put them in the container and not looked at them. Don’t know if that was by design, but I wonder. Disgusting, all the celery sticks in this batch where they came from were contaminated. Wasn’t a good thing to serve this to someone in the medical field. They were lucky I was too tired to walk back across the parking lot for my money back. However, now I understand the poor ratings I came across. If you are smart, think twice and never again.
I’m somewhat a regular here so it was very heartbreaking to sit at the bar for 15-20 min making eye contact with multiple servers/bar backs and not one coming to take my order or even speak to me. I understand when it’s busy and everyone is taking tables that service is slow but there were at least 3 people behind the bar the entire time just chatting to each other. Was never able to even order a drink and I left after it became clear that no one coming over. Very disappointing.
I never tried the pizza. Went to eat and watch a football game. With multiple TV's with the same game playing, I asked if when seated could we be seated to see the game we wanted to see that was on 1 TV. I was told no guarantee and that the game could not be put on another TV. The hostess told me that if they were switched it would become a "thing" and the other games were more popular. I left and went to Buffalo Wild Wings and was graciously seated to watch my team.
Showed up with the whole family of 7 with plans to spend easily 300.00 with food and drinks. We were told by the server, that "the owner said" we were not allowed to put a 4 person table together with a 6 person table with the place maybe 1/3 full of capacity.... (yes only 33% full) Imagine 7 people squeezing into a 6 person table tying to fit all the pizzas with empty tables all around.... Soooo... we left and will never be back... Your food isn't worth being treated like that, I don't care what kind of day you're having... Ogdon Tap Room had no problem accommodating us....
Sat at the bar for football, checked on once in over an hour. Server never asked about food or anything but waited on a couple that came in 30 min after us that sit next to us. Asked for check and was charged with 3 drinks instead of the two we ordered. Staff were busy talking and licking what looked to be a ring pop………….
We were sat for dinner. 15 minutes later never approached by wait staff. No beverage was offered No eye contact. Nothing. We ended up leaving due to not being served. What a disappointment.
Probably the worst pizza I’ve ever had, which is shocking cause the other locations are usually pretty good. No pizza sauce. No pizza flop. Barely any cheese. I should’ve listened to the reviews and the wings were not that great either. Will not be returning to this location.
This used to be one of my favorite pizza places. Ordered a large with two toppings (meatball/extra sauce). Pizza was dry and burnt on the bottom. "Extra sauce" was a tiny cup of marinara on the side. Manager offered to give me another cup. I don't think she gets it.
Went today on a Sunday at 2pm, not crowded maybe 1/3 of the people that are usually there when I go. Hostess just says “follow me” no greeting or anything, leaves silverware on the table and walks away. Then after waiting 10-15 minutes and no one even looking our way we just left. The bartender was flipping customers off behind the bar and cussing quite a bit (several children were around) It’s a shame because it’s some of our favorite pizza in town. Drove from Hampstead and we were excited for it. Just to drive back to Hampstead and eat local. I know staffing is hard nowadays but train them right. Just a “hey I’m a bit tied up I’ll be with you shortly” would have went a long way.
For Slice of Life to be thee best pizza in the city, management needs to be more particular who they have host their customers. Me, my sister and my 2 y/o niece decided we wanted pizza and wings. Upon arrival we were told it would be a 10 minute wait, muscle memory, we look around to see why, in which my sister saw a couple of empty tables that could accommodate our tiny party but ok. No problem. They know better than us. The ‘hostess’ ask for our name and she writes it down. There wasn’t any seats for us to sit and wait so we told her we’d wait in the car. About 5 minutes in, I notice a family of 3 adults walking in. I told my sister to go in just in case, so they won’t seat anyone before us. She went in and what do you know, the family was immediately seated. I asked for a manger and instead, (I guess) their ‘lead hostess’ addressed our concerns stating it was a ‘tenative 10 minutes’. We were offered a table top which wouldn’t be safe for my niece. I asked if there was anywhere for us to sit and wait (again) for a table so we wouldn’t be overlooked and the low level ‘hostess’ offered the bar knowing we had a child with us. My sister asked if we could sit at an empty table until then. And they said sure. While waiting, we saw two tables clear out. The tables were broke down then cleaned. We waited and waited and waited. No one came to let us know their were tables ready. We waited some more. Me and sis decided we’d just seat ourselves at one of the ready tables before they seat anyone else (again). We waited and waited while staff walked back and forth not even acknowledging us. Finally, here comes MATTHEW P. our waiter. He turned a very frustrating situation into a great evening. He exudes kindness and even exchanged conversation, laughs and giggles with my niece. Thank you Matthew P. Great customer service sir! I don’t want to assume that this behavior had anything to do with us being the only African Americans there.
Loud! Obsessively loud! Kids coming in had to block ears with sweatshirts. Could not have a conversation without shouting. Had to leave after salad. Will NEVER return. Instead, went to La Costa.
