best chinese in Syracuse! By far the cleanest restaurant! One of the main reason I started coming here is because of the cleanliness of their place, and the food makes it that much better!
My favorite quick Chinese joint in Syracuse. Good, cheap, fast and friendly. Anytime anybody asks for my recommendation for Chinese food, I ALWAYS tell them about China House.
Great prices and kind staff, their orange chicken has real orange and szechuan peppers. It was perfect.
I always get my fried chicken and rice from here , the food is always fresh and taste good , might be one of the best in town
Hands down once of cleanest restaurants! Always get my favorite curry chicken dish there and Singapore Mei Fun.
Great food, good portions, reasonable prices! Love the tofu dishes, especially general tso's & sesame.
The food here is so delicious, every time I can get the meal quickly, the owner is very nice。
restaurant so clean,I have been there few times .food so tasty. stweet sour chicken is my favorite
Honestly love this place, it has the best General Tso's chicken in the city. I will 100% come back!
Very good and does not have a heavy greasy taste to their food.
Really good relative to other Chinese take out places. Fast affordable friendly, never had problems.
Love the food but I don't like the waiter reaching over my food
Excellent chow mei fun! Best I have had anywhere! Great food!
Food tastes great, and the chicken is cooked like it was not rushed
Good food fast service
Only Chinese food i will eat in Syracuse! Great food and the staff is really attentive and nice
I had the sesame chicken. It was delicious. I had tried a different restaurant a cpl months ago and the sesame chicken was horrible. I will most definitely drive across the city to China house in shop city!
Food was so good, got the egg roll and mei fun and it tasted really fresh and delicious. I'm from Brooklyn and this was still some of the best I've had. The service was also really good, girl at the front was sweet!! I will be coming back
Best take out in town!! I am almost too selfish to share as I don’t want it too crowded! But there chicken broccoli has nice large fat free sauté not fried pieces of white meat chicken and the broccoli is always the right consistency not raw but firm not squishy always just right !! And so healthy! Like home quality but a better sauces lol the menu is extensive, the egg drop soup is so good ! and chicken vegetables soup is very generous it can be a meal !! and mei fun is also generous white meat sauté chicken or generous nice sized shrimp with thin noodles cabbage and carrots we drive from Camillus 690 to Teal ave and home is worth it knowing it will be another satisfying meal and a nice part of your evening the owner is very nice and greats regular customers with a smile and wave from the kitchen and says hello old friend! When he or his wife and some staff recognize you and do the same , fresh vegetables clean quality chicken well prepared and properly seasoned to your liking, I don’t leave lots of review and have been going there 20 +yrs since I moved into Sedgwick and found them way back and it’s stayed excellent and fair price for serving sizes so if curious stop in and say hello old friend 😃👍🏻And enjoy a proper value and serving portion with the fresh ingredients and sauces that are just right not too watery not too thick great sauces great food best takeout out in town - also as a customer of a couple decades I have an old old menu egg rolls were not on my vintage menu the other fella is confused I should post a pic I assure you they are nice clean people of integrity, like the family you enjoy seeing!😃
I was greeted by a very pleasant man who took my order., It was around 7:15pm & they were fairly busy, mostly take out. He asked if mine would be take out and brought it over to a booth and opened the container and gave me utensils & napkins. The meal was freshly made & very good. They were busy. Some people ordered side dishes & eggrolls and also went ne t door to the Fish Cove to get Fresh Seafood. They were busy till I left at about 8pm. The eggrolls were also very good tasting & fresh. 5☆'s!!
Should be rated more than 4 stars. I go here weekly and this place is the epitome of consistency. Best chicken chow mein anywhere In Syracuse, I know because I have tried them all
We've tried 5 other Chinese places in the area. This is the best so far. Got the steamed dumplings, general Sao, Singapore Mei fun, and pork fried rice. We will be ordering from here again.
Giving tis place a 5 stars on food for a few reasons. First time trying it out and the boneless spareribs are great. I DO NOT like ginger but tasted it in the pork fried rice and it definitely complimented the ribs. Got the Pu Pu platter and the steak on the stick had a ridiculously great flavor(cooked to Jerky but sooo good!) They used a real peice of steak for it! Not that soggy stuff you hope is beef! All in all a pretty decent spot. Even adjusted the Pu Pu platter because there was something I didn't like on it and they added a similar item already on the platter for me without a surcharge. Definitely coming back!
There food is the best out of any other Chinese takeout. I love sake bombs but China house tastes so much better. The people that work here are nice too. I eat here once a week.
Chicken chow mein. YOU JUST HAVE TO TRY IT. Amazing dish. Regular customer now since my favorite spot closed down on James st.

Always really good and he gave me a free Asian bikini calendar lol
Very good place to get Chinese food from. I haven't seen anything about skinned cats or dogs in the papers lol. But seriously good food and great portions for the price. The only place in town where I get my take out from.
The quality of the food was very good. I gave them a 4 star instead of 5, because I got more meat that rice. The rice was very small so you still felt hungry.

This restaurant has average Chinese food. It's not better nor worse than any other Chinese restaurant. They re quick and accurate with the order. They take credit card which some of the other area Chinese restaurants don't.
****UPDATE 12.20.23**** I don't know if this place changed hands but the past 2 times I've ordered from here the food hasn't been as good. Last night I ordered Beef Mei Fun which was supposed to be beef with rice noodles and instead I got chewy beef with angel hair pasta. Maybe their usual clientele can't tell the difference but I can, since I love Chinese food and I've had the same dish elsewhere. I'm not sure what they're trying to pull over on people using a cheaper ingredient. They could have called me and told me they ran out of rice noodles and they'd be substituting. They could have also told me when I picked up my order! Also, what's with the Fort Knox decor when you walk in? The counter is completely closed and framed in with glass. Hey, I understand Covid is still around but this is a bit much. Even during the height of the pandemic, this restaurant didn't take the same drastic measure. So again due to these new developments, I wonder if the restaurant changed hands at some point because the quality of the food and the decor has drastically changed. Original review: Even though this is "fast-food" Chinese, it doesn't taste like it. (The only exception would be items from the combination menu.) I've ordered from here numerous times and the food is HOT, delicious and the service is quick!

Something was telling me to stop eating halfway through my meal. It felt funny eating the dumplings and chicken. Not sure, I have a stomach ache now, feels like I may vomit. The vegetables were fine though..maybe undercooked meat in the dumplings? Update: my stomach has settled. Maybe it was bad timing. They were polite when I was in there as well.

Not great but no the worse I had. I will say the egg and spring rolls were far better than the food. The fried rice was greasy. I will not visit there again.
Good food but portions were small. Only went once and ordered orange chicken, when I got home I had only gotten 3 pieces. Always check your bag before you leave
Not bad chinese food, but definitely remarkably mediocre. Food was bland. Almost like they intentionally try to keep there food totally unremarkable. Not worth the effort or the money. If you want meh food, save your money and go to Mcdonalds and order off the dollar menue
Unfortunately, it's not the same as it used to be. The portions are still big. The food has changed. It's very bland now. They changed the "pork" fried rice to "ham" fried rice. The sesame chicken and rangoons had NO flavor. I will say, I did like the broccoli. It was crisp. I'm wondering if it's under new ownership. A waste of $35. 😏

I ordered steam dumplings pork and I think 💬 it was chicken 😱 the service well cashier should not greet anyone never smiled or greeted me China went down 👇
Use to love it, but lately is very disappointing. So we decided to try it again, this time my spouse found a chunk of hair in his food. Never again.
Ordered the beef and broccoli-not only was it lacking in flavor but after eating it, my partner felt sick to his stomach and threw up not too long after.
Food wasn't cooked all the way, waited over 5 minutes for service ... food is a major disappointment.... waste of 30 dollars for 2 combination plates.
Ordered chicken noodles soup and they give you 1/3noodles and the rest is tasteless broth for $4dollars could have eaten noodles and noodles with a better flavor for "$1dollar so sad how they treat people
Worst food I ever had my beef lomein was rancid will never eat there again.girl at counter was very rude also.
Hoped for clean shrimp but not at this place never again rice was nasty shrimp were never cleaned.

Honestly the workers are so rude, it also seems kind of racist in there, they slammed my food around and were aggressive handling my money, when the caucasian person came up the lady’s entire vibe and tone changed, all I did when i came in was say hello how are you doing. I’m honestly never going back and the food is mid
Very disappointed with our food today. The sesame chicken combo had bland rice, undercooked broccoli, and a few dried-out chicken pieces. My two orders of sweet and sour chicken were overcooked and dry. The white rice was bland, and the sweet and sour sauce tastes of sugar. There is nothing in it that tastes like a sweet and sour sauce. The shrimp lomein tasted metallic and old, like it has been sitting around a while. The shrimp were so tiny I think ants are more enormous only good thing was the egg roll; I am taking mom elsewhere, even if it's not close. I have been coming here forever. Very disappointed.
YOU MAY NOT HAVE BEEN THERE THAT LONG I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SHOW YOU THAT YOU DID SERVE EGG ROLLS. WITH THE LUNCH MENU. I actually asked two friends of mine and they said the same thing so please don’t insult my intelligence or my friends and family who have been served that in the past you can say anything you want but there was an eggroll served with lunch please don’t worry cause we and my friends now will no longer be going there you never even offered us anything back and we have ordered General towel from many places and it never looked or tasted like that and again I never order chicken and broccoli but it looks like there is no point in arguing with somebody who thinks they are right can’t wait to spread the word. Have been going there for 25+ years. Just asked about the lunch menu noticed they didn’t serve with eggrolls anymore I asked her about it ,she said they never did I must’ve been going to a different place? I said no it’s this place. Then ordered General Tao not spicy and shrimp broccoli I got sesame chicken with no sesame and chicken broccoli. I called and she started raising her voice to me and told me General Tao is the same as sesame chicken? I’ll be looking for a new place she was rude and the food was horrible..I have even a hard time giving them a 1 star.
I purchased a quart of house lo mein. I asked what it comes with. I was told chicken, shrimp, pork, carrots and bok cho.I asked for peas, onions and bean sprouts. They apparently don't have bean sprouts which is more common sadly. And refused peas he said ok onions and o was charged an additional.75 cents . No problem I chose to wait for my food. I literally received 7 of the baby shrimp that 60 make a pound. A few slivers of pork and 8 pieces of chicken! Even the carrots were barely visible. I muddled through a rats nest of gummy lo mein noodles! VERY DISAPPOINTED!
I went to get food from this place and the guy was digging up his nose and I politely I asked him could he wash his hands before preparing my food. I found this to be very rude because first he's digging in his nose and is around food that customers have to eat and then when I voiced my concern he and the other employees started speaking in their native language and started laughing. I will never eat here again. So disrespectful and unclean behavior.
I don’t typically order Chinese food but when we do, it’s only for the chicken wings, spring rolls and crab Rangoon all of a sudden tonight the sauce is not included with the crab Rangoon really whoever would want to eat that without sauce had to call and make a return trip not OK not going back!!!! ////owner responded sorry for the inconvenience however, it states clearly on our wall that you have to ask for the sauce. I’m a bit confused. How would I know that if I ordered it for pick up?
Purchased meals for my family and I while visiting Syracuse for an event, and I must say that it was the worst we've ever had! No one wanted it, because it lacked everything!!! Paid $6 for eggs and broccoli to be added to our 2qt shrimp fried rice and they were lacking. I want to know what happened to the peas and carrots that we were told would be in the rice, because that was lacking too! Another thing that happened, myself and the rest of my family felt sick all night and day yesterday! What in China are you putting or not putting in your food?! It was just disgusting. The $100 spent, was a waste and it should be refunded, because 80% of the food is still sitting here. Contacted the owner and his response is, we been in business over 20 years...that doesn't mean you're stuff is great. The problem in this world is that people are settling for nonsense and it needs to STOP! You should reimburse me or remake every single item we ordered. Also, REMOVE Sesame Chicken, Chicken Lomaine, BBQ ribs...from your menu! Shame on you!!!! I could go on. On that note, If you appreciate and enjoy good tasting, quality food, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO COOK FOR YOU. SMH
