For starters papa John’s is the best pizza I have ever had. There is a papa John’s on James st in Syracuse New York. When I walked in the door the person at the counter instantly greeted me while a smile on her face. All the employee's that were there were very friendly and very very helpful. At first I couldn’t decide what I wanted and once I figured it out I placed the order. Once it was all done they handed it to me. Once I got home I ate my food and it was so good. It wasn’t over cooked or undercooked. Papa John’s in my eyes have the best pizza in town. I will definitely go back there again no questions asked. I am also recommending papa John’s to all my family and friends. Nothing and I mean nothing can compare to papa John’s. Thanks again papa John’s on James st great customer service was excellent

Stopped here after a crazy day and ordered a quick dinner to bring home. The staff was really friendly and didn't get annoyed when I had no idea what I wanted and changed my order 2x before making a final decision. When we got home I realized I left my sunglasses there. I called hoping they would still be on the counter. The (I believe manager) stated he put them behind the counter and I could pick them up anytime. Anyways, the food was better than I expected.. I haven't ate here in many years but my 9 year old daughter wanted it.. so that's what we had. The food tasted great and just what we needed after a long stressful day. A huge shout out to all the employees, kindness really does make someone's day better!

I tend to be labeled by others as pretentious, picky, difficult to please, etc. That being said I have tried every small business and chain pizza place in Syracuse. This Papa Johns on James Street in the Eastwood area provides the best and most consistent pizza and quality of service, hands down. The staff is friendly, professional, and efficient to the point where I can order from the parking lot at Syracuse University and it's ready by the time I get there. Even if I've forgotten to eat for 40 hours, it's late at night, or my pain is so significant I can barely consider eating, I know I can order from here, pick it up quickly and know I will be well fed from a very kind group of people. Things to know/consider: order ahead (using the app is incredibly easy), know that there is limited tall counter style seating, this is very much a takeaway centric location. They have bottled drinks. They do have slices but I have always ordered a full pizza so prices and details on that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but they are always busy so the turnover is quick. My only gripe to no fault of the owners/employees is the other customers and contract delivery drivers(UberEats, doordash, etc.) that park in the handicapped spots, as it can be legitimately difficult for me to get into the shop. That being said the staff has on more than one occasion run the food out to me which I sincerely appreciate. I highly recommend this location for all your pizza needs.

No issues when placing my order. The guy that answered the phone i believe was the manager. I had a coupon & wanted to tweak the order slightly & he knew exactly what to do with no issues. Pizzas were ready when I arrived & the manager knew what was going on, friendly & greeted me when I walked in despite the place being busy....

Been on a pizza kick lately and decided to stop in for some slices. I use to eat Papa John's when I lived in Eastwood. It's just as good as it was then! Employees were nice and didn't feel rushed when my son was trying to decide what he wanted.

Breona was so pleasant with handling a busy environment. I came in and she made sure to greet me and the others, smile and give great customer service. The pizza is always good ! Happy to be a customer !

Needed a large delivery at 1130am on a saturday. Delivery driver was on time, pleasant, and pizzas were hot! Ordering the day before was wonderful as the woman on the phone did everything possible to help me out and give me the beast deal. 10/10 recommended.

Had a small problem with an order, but the manager was super helpful and resolved the problem like a rockstar. We had a pretty big order. The staff members completed the order quickly and were friendly and laid back. 10 out of 10 service and will be back again! Thank you!!

Omg, first time eating Papa John’s and I mean sooooo good. I usually Door Dash and started picking up orders here and decided to try it. Went online and they had the $6.99 special smh so delicious! Did a pick up order (because I’m cheap and not trying to pay delivery lol) it was hot and phenomenal!!! The staff was quiet but professional, focused on the orders. Definitely coming back!

Can’t beat $1 slices on Tuesdays. Fat, delicious pizza and for $1. The value cannot be beat. These slices are huge. Papa John’s just has great quality ingredients. The slogan isn’t a lie. This place was popping when I went but they were still cranking slices out for the lunch rush.

My first time at this restaurant since the pre-covid era. The staff is great and the quality of the pie was surprisingly very good, especially after having a very poor experience with delivery times and the quality of previous orders from this restaurant. I will go to this location if they maintain the quality of the pies I ordered this week. I stopped ordering from here during COVID because the food was not well prepared. My experience there in 2024 has been great. Very friendly staff and consistent quality. Very good pie!

Nicole helped me order a delicious two topping pizza over the phone and made sure was made with BBQ sauce and not tomato paste, for allergy reasons. When I came in with my child, she made sure I had plates, forks and napkins, so my child didn't make a mess in my vehicle. Great Pizza and great service, thanks to Nicole. I've probably had my best pizza here! If you're paying cash it's the place to go. If you're using a debit card NOT SO MUCH. The first action is a % of tip to leave counter help. Moving freight for decade's no one is tipping me on a bill of laden.

I'd first like to say that I love your cheese bread and the garlic butter as well. But most places do not charge a delivery fee. Papa Johns does. Which would be fine if it went to the driver but I was told it goes to corporate. Why would corporate need to charge a delivery fee. So I'm expected to pay a fee and also tip the driver? I always tip the driver well but when I'm told I have to pay almost $3 for a fee and tip on top of it....I'm almost buying a whole pizza! Not cool.

Unfortunately, masks were not always properly positioned, so I commented. The prices/items on the paper menus were not correct/available. I was told several items were not available when all their food is made to order. When the veggie calzone I ordered for $7.95 as shown on paper menu they provided, not only did the price ring up as $37.95 or so, but the cashier kept insisting the price was correct because that is what the computer showed. I was being billed an outrageous amount for each of the veggies included in the veggie calzone as if they were separate calzones, or some such nonsense. One of the other employees tried to help, but the register seemed to lock up. The other register had its own issues with overcharging. Eventually, after a very lengthy wait and my inquiring on progress, I received my food. Granted, it was New Years Eve and business was booming, but each situation was inappropriate on their own with the combined fiascos and poor attitude for problems clearly the business's fault. I patronize them as often as I can, and their food is good. That so many issues with their ordering occurred in one visit is discouraging. I hope the problems are fixed by now. The veggie calzone was excellent!

It's not really authentic pizza but it's still enjoyable, made with good ingredients, and a clean store. The staff here is always super nice and they're pretty quick. Usually some good specials, so check that out.

Without the Tuesday special lunch rush, I got in and out, with the food warm and in good taste. That said, rushes can cause a bit of waiting unless you order ahead, which I usually do here

We just wanted to say thank you for bringing our food at a reasonable time my wife and I got stuck at upstate medical for over 5 hours for treatment that they couldn't provide for us. Only thing down about today's service was that the long wait time on the phone ball our pizza was good. And the driver that brought it to us at the hospital is very nice thanks again keep it up. Just try to answer your phone at a timely matter.

As far as chain pizza goes, I believe they are the best. I have never had a bad pizza from there however they need to learn to cut the slices a little more even.

We ordered a pizza and wings and paid for 2 extra sauces that were never received, despite my significant other asking the employee to confirm everything was all together. I don't like being charged for items that we were told were confirmed (and present in the order) and not receiving them

The wife and I love Papa John's pizza and their garlic dipping sauce. The rest of my family feel otherwise, so we haven't been in a while. Tried the new (to us) spicy dipping sauce. Lit our mouths of on fire! Pizza could have been a cooked little longer.

I have always liked this franchise. The one in Ithaca is the best. The one in Syracuse on James street has really gone down hill. The past 3 times I went there two times it took over seven minutes for them to answer the phone. The past two times there the pizza was cold in the middle and still doughy. You are going to keep losing customers if they continue to act like they don’t care.

Ordered a pizza online, when picking up my pizza there was just cheese on it and no sauce. The pizza was extremely doughy. Furthermore, the Papa John's coupon code didn't work and they did not acknowledge the national promotion. The workers were good, so that is why I gave it 2 stars.

We had a burnt pizza a couple of weeks ago. I called for a credit ($10.79) and was told I would receive it on my account. I asked if they needed my onlune order number or account number and was told no, since they had my name they could apply the credit. We ordered again and no credit. When I arrived I explained the situation with details of names and dates to the cashier and she offered to discount 1 of my pizzas ($7.55). I said the burnt pizza was a $9.99 plus tax. I could see her trying to do the math in her head, she said she could give me a $10 credit. I said no, $10.79. That was the cost of the burned pizza. She eventually relented. She was always polite, but I should not have had to go through this to get a credit I was told was already on my accout.

They offer $1.25 slices, which is cool in a crunch. However, the pizza here is lacking. Sauce is too sweet. The pizza all tastes the same because the sace is overpowering and leaves you feeling like you've eaten a donut with cheese. For the pruce, buy a pie from a local business instead. The quality will be much, much better.

Never can get the order correct. Arrive to pick up a complimentary pizza for the wrong pizza made 4 weeks ago, and this Buffalo chicken pizza was also made wrong. UNBELIEVABLE. AND this is the only Papa John's left in the entire Syracuse area

Male manager of the Papa Johns on James St. has a horrible attitude and doesn't know how to speak to customers. Understand they have a limit on $ days but there is a way to communicate their policy to customers in a professional way. Not the first time I have seen him be disrespectful. If he doesn't like his job he should get another. Been a long time customer, won't be returning. Wonder if he felt comfortable being speaking in a disrespectful manner because of my race.

Pizza was ok, not really worth the price. Buffalo chicken wings were a little burnt. Garlic parm bread sticks were good. Wouldn't recommend.

The manager that was working wed late nite the 23rd of April was a LIAR! The Door Dash website was acting all screwy & it ordered our order twice,but only took off the free pizza on 1 of the orders(it was a BOGO sale.so it charged us full price on an order we didn't even order. We timed it and it was 4min 39sec from the time order was sent & I was talking 2 a door dash rep. The manager told the doordash rep they can't cancel any order because it's allreading made. In less then 5min this manager expects me to believe 4 pizzas have been made!!??BS!they wanted the money.so I got my full refund from my bank,it was a FRAUDULENT charge & they wldnt help me & took that lying managers word of the 4 pizza"INSTA-OVEN" cooker over me! Canceled doordash also,been nothing but non english speaking service reps who are NEVER helpful & don't care that ever order has had things messed up or missing. We are going OLD SCHOOL from now on, pick up our damn selves.😁

Overpriced garbage. The food is gross, the facility is gross, and half the employees don't wash their hands. There are a few, maybe 5 people, that actually care about what they're doing and the fact that they're serving people food and are cognizant of the area they're in. Groan. I foolishly ordered a pizza because of that damned "better ingredients, better pizza" commercial. I'm too freakin' old to still be falling for such foolishness... but I'm also notoriously cheap and couldn't pass up what I THOUGHT was a good deal. You see, Papa John's was running an online special: 50% off all online orders. Wow! Surely there must be an innocent and legitimate reason for such a whopping discount. Spolier alert: the pizza is just terrible. I ordered a pizza... and I am genuinely sorry. There's a DiGiorno commercial where the hip people talk about ordering an extra limp pizza. Based on experience, I'm convinced they ordered their pizza from Papa John's. I've never had floppy pizza before. It's not fun. When I tried to lift a slice, it was limp and floppy (insert your own joke here) the ingredients just slid off. What the what? Okay, maybe Papa John's was having an off day...it happens. Surely once customer service becomes aware of my dissatisfaction, they'll try to make things right, right? Wrong. There is no way to contact the restaurant (unless you're old school and decide to telephone them) online. Papa John's has a generic online complaint form, which I filled out. About two days later, I received a heartfelt email from store manager Kathy Tillapaugh. Kathy explained in that she took customer satisfaction very seriously and wanted to ensure my enjoyment. I was told to respond via email or telephone. I chose email because internet. Fast forward 8-10 days. I've been ignored, despite sending TWO follow up emails​. Papa John's got my money and left me hanging (insert another inappropriate joke here). I'm unsatisfied, unhappy and broke. TL;DR. No, just no. The food (the bits that didn't fall off) is bland and their customer service is a farce​. Between the pathetic pizza and AWOL customer service, I've been forced question some of my life choices. Questions run through my mind like, why did I order a pizza when I have a kitchen full of food just waiting to be prepared? Why am I so inclined to take shortcuts in life (read: ordering pizza)? Questions that would have NEVER been asked if Papa John's had just given me a #*+&*! quality pizza!! Boy am I miffed.

I was told it would be a 10 minute wait for my take out order. After 20 minutes, I popped out of my car to gently ask if my order would be ready soon and they said it would be 10 minutes. I never got the food that evening. This was the final time I've been here. The other times I've gone to this location, the food was inconsistent and packing in quality. Sometimes overcooked, undercooked.

We ordered 2 pizzas tonight, one was the xl which still is smaller then the regular pizza parlors large. Asked for 2 toppings, wanted the entire pizza with mushrooms then only one half of the pizza with onions. Not only was the pizza later then stated it would come. But our toppings were barely a handful of sliced mushrooms mostly piled in the middle near the end of one slice, and a few slivers of onions on one slice. So we called and guess what, they can't do refunds, all they can do is make us wait another hour for a new pizza oh and take the original pizza back. What are they going to do with it? Resell it? It was 9pm already who wants to wait another hour. So for us to get any credit for a half ass pizza, we either have to call in the order or go there. Yeah lets see if they do. Tired of getting ripped off. They had no problem taking my money but have a problem giving it back when they screwed up. So I'm going to post a pic of it. How hard is it to spread mushrooms on a whole pizza, then some onions on half of it? I'm probably going to stick with the regular pizza parlors. They're mostly family own and would of given back our money.

This place made me never ever order there again. Very unprofessional. They told me I would get my food in 40 minutes it finally got here after 2 hours because apparently they wrote down the wrong address. Pizza was like warm and dry by the time it got here. I sent it back. Manager was very unprofessional also, my wife called and he made her stay on the phone waiting for over 30 minutes until she finally got tired of waiting and she hung up. There was a mistake in putting in the order . We called immediately and the manager on duty refused to correct even after we were put on hold for 3-5 mins. When she gets on mellisa was extremely rude and disrespectful. Mom & I ordered pizza delivery to our hotel room. We specifically put our room number and un-checked the box that said “leave at door” AND put in the note to please knock on door. We got a call from the front desk that our pizza was here. We’re in our PJs in bed, had to put clothes on to go downstairs to get it. What’s the point of all the instructions we left? Too bad we had to tip beforehand... the delivery person did not deserve 20% for that.

I been coming to this location for years getting slices of pizza....always nice costomer service and im able to pick what slice i want. But today who ever the young boy is at the front is very rude. Don't order at night it seems smh wasn't even late but I ordered 3 papadias and they normally come with their respective sauce and 2 peppers but they gave me a sauce that doesn't go with the papadias I ordered and all 3 orders had no peppers smh when I came back to state my concern, a fight was about to jump off so I couldn't get my sauces or peppers smh

THIS IS LONG BUT PLEASE READ ALL. I want to start by saying this was my first time ordering any kind of food online. I have a very distinct dislike for the practice. I order food out to be served not to assist in the serving. I ordered online because that was the only way to get promo price and my mom was having trouble doing so. Upon examining pizza it wasn't to my liking TOO MUCH sauce, skimpy toppings towards middle. I went in and explained and told them it wasn't there fault because of my online order errors (again first time) but it wasn't to my liking. Was told i had to pay for another. Successfully proved my point and got an agreement for a free replacement. Manager walked away shaking head and scoffing at which time i asked for a refund given her response. I no longer felt comfortable with her prepping my food out of sight. The cashier did say manager was wrong and apologized numerous times. Despite previous statement refund was refused. Unfortunately my mother was unaware of the goings on and started eating, I am unaware of how many slices in the car. I left pizza in restaurant called there corporate number and am filing dispute with card company.

Was decent until I realized I was missing points online from an order done on Chris eve. I tried to get my points back after long conversation with online chat and I believe a phone conversation. They told me only the store manager could add it because for some reason my order had been deleted. I was like that’s strange because I paid cash. My guess the worker pocketed it. And I never got my points from the manager.

I wish I could give negative stars for this place. I have never had a good experience here. The food is never cooked right, and the staff is incredibly rude. Totally got ripped off. Ordered pizza from this location and never got it. I called back multiple times over 2 hours and they lied saying it was delivered but the hotel wouldn't let them come up. Went to the front desk and was shown the security footage showing that Noone ever came. Then was told they were refunding my money and it was never refunded. The guy I ordered from also refused to give me his name or the managers name. They actually stole from me!

Horrible pizza and horrible customer service. I ordered my pizza right before they closed, that was my first mistake. I got home and the pizza was so undercooked that the dough was stretchy (yuck). So my niece, my nephew, and I ended up throwing away our slices. I called that night there was no answer so I called the next day and the manager told me that only two slices can be missing from the pizza to get a refund. The pizza was so raw that it was stuck to the bottom of the box. Never ordering pizza from here again. With a manager like that I honestly don’t know how they are still open.

I ordered a pizza off doordash and when it arrived after eating a couple bites I realized it was raw. When I called Papa John’s they told me there were no complaints about anything being raw and I had to contact doordash. The manager didn’t seem too concerned about feeding people pizza that is literally raw. I pulled all the toppings off and the “crust” was just warm dough. My vegetables were crunchy and just warm, not even cooked. The Papa John’s manager pretty much told me they wouldn’t do that even though they did. My toppings were also a big pile in the middle and the girl on the phone had the gall to tell me it wasn’t. I only got a partial refund from doordash so I suggest just avoiding this place in general especially on a delivery app because the store’s gonna act like it’s not their fault for cooking raw pizza and you’re not gonna get your money back completely.

This place robbed me of $5. I ordered over the phone and when I picked my order up I was told they didn't charge me for part of my order. So I paid for it. When I got to my truck I seen the receipt under a sticker on the box which said I did pay for my order originally. So I went straight back to the register and the manager said because I step outside he wouldn't refund me my money. They all seen me go to my truck and straight back. And also they charged me for a pepperoni and I ordered cheese. I feel robbed. Never again will I be a customer .

If I could give a zero I would! When my pizza was delivered to my house, it was smushed and cold. My wife called back to speak to a manager about the c condition of the pizza and she raised her voice and said nothing was wrong with it even though we sent a picture of it to her phone. She placed us on hold and we said we would call corporate and she came back to the phone and told us to go ahead and call corporate then hang up and called the police on us. The whole conversation was video recorded and sent to corporate! Terrible. Never eating here again

This place use to be my favorite I don’t know what happened to their food but it’s either under cooked or cold or burnt, I made orders in the past they was perfect. Everytime I order from here I get the rude driver who doesn’t call & just pounds on the apartment door & talks disrespectfully to me all the time. Called around midnight to order a Hawaiian pizza with 2 hot sauce (buffalo) on the side Repeated asking for sauce 4 times and when the pizza arrived after 45 minutes it was the wrong pizza....with no sauce. Called back and asked for the right pizza to be delivered with hot sauce, asked again a few times ...came about 30 minutes later once again with no sauce. Called back to express my concerns and was told I never ordered sauce. Wanted my refund and was quicker to go in store. When I got there they offered me some coupons because I didn't want pizza anymore tonight and then was told there was no coupons. A simply sorry about that would have made this situation alot better. Please work order accuracy as your a well known company and maybe some customer recovery.

Delivery man is very disrespectful. My delivery driver flung a pizza box at me because he went to the wrong building and couldn’t figure out how to get to the correct building. While entering my building he almost hit me with the door without saying excuse me. You’re better off getting Domino’s. WAY BETTER customer service. Called the store to report my interaction with the driver and the manager refused to give me any information so that I can contact Papa Johns customer service or even hear me out.

My pizza was never delivered! I called the "restaurant" and was told they got "super busy" but 2 hours later my pizza never came. My bank account was charged with no problem within seconds tho. This is about as fraudulent as a company can be. Just ducking crazy. I'll just double up on Digiorno at this point. Its laughable...

This was my favorite pizza spot however the past two times I ordered delivery the food took over an hour and half to come and it was cold not fresh. It’s ridiculous because I spend along of money here and they dont even offer anything for the inconvenience.

We ordered a New York style cheese pizza to deliver to our hotel. Took an hour and then it had pepperoni which we explicitly stated we don’t eat pork. They offered a replacement but my husband had to pick it unless we wanted to wait another hour. Upon eating it, it was the thickest doughy-est awful pizza. Such a disappointment

visually the food was okay looked like fast food pizza, the “boneless wings” looked the frozen chicken nuggets when BBQ sauce all over them, the cheesesticks were nothing special, everything tasted super greasy and not totally cooked but again it’s pizza what can you do about the grease. i had this meal last night with my partner and both of us have been sick all day throwing up this food. i will not be coming back.

I’m honestly really disappointed with my delivery from Papa John’s tonight. I specifically requested my Philly Cheesesteak pan pizza to be well done, but it showed up barely cooked. The dough is extremely soft and squishy, almost underbaked, and the cheese is literally spilling off the sides of the pizza instead of being melted and set properly. This isn’t what I expected at all, especially after paying for delivery and leaving clear instructions. Quality and attention to detail really matter, and this experience completely missed the mark.

I called the place an order and the automated receptionist couldn't understand me. When I finally got to a person they told me 15 minutes for one pizza. That sounded good. I got there 25 minutes later. They took my money and told me my pizzas the next one out of the oven. Then 20 minutes later still no pizza and they don't know where my order is. I try to get my money back and they say I never paid. Some arguing and getting the cashier back up there to vouch for me I got my money back and left without a pizza. They were all very rude and they lied to me several times. This must have been the very worst experience in a pizza shop I've ever had. Also while I was there people just started lining up and not getting their orders a couple came in and said they ordered on the app which indicated their order was ready but when they got there they didn't know where it was. Someone else came in for their order and they were told it was already picked up and they're not going to get another one. This place is a mess It needs a lot of help.

Ordered a pizza 1/2 onion with mushrooms and sausage and the other half just sausage. Picked up an all messed up onions on half and mushrooms on the half to bad couldn’t eat it being that I hate both mushrooms and onions. Gave y’all the way we wanted it but you failed we won’t be back

Where do I start, they use DoorDash with these unprofessional and corrupt drivers, either the food is stolen (said delivered) or arrived with dog hairs on it. They tell you wait 20-30 minutes to call about undelivered order and yet they close within that time frame. We went to pick up our food and it was still made incorrectly and the workers like to rush and not care. Yes, we do tip; which is a waste of our money. I do not recommend this location to my enemy.

We love our Shaq-A-Roni pizza… but had a terrible experience this time around. Our pizza we picked up and it came as you see. Looks like someone got hungry behind the senses. We called asking for a refund but would only credit us with an another pizza after driving all the way there. He said it was caught in a pizza machine and he “checked” the cameras. I called back to follow up on why they cannot give us a refund. The manager didn’t even introduce himself on the call and stated he’s already dealt with this situation yelling at me irritated when I was just trying to have a conversation for him to hang up on me. After all this frustration and trying the pizza, we ordered it well done it was undercooked. We unfortunately will be giving our business elsewhere going forward.

NEVER AGAIN! i spent almost $40 on two pizzas that we’re supposed to be bigger than what we got! What we received we’re basically two very small pizzas that look more like personal size!! I got the extra cheese alfredo and the fresh garden. This papa johns location is the worse i have ever ordered! Wasted money and the pizza wasn’t even that great :/ i do not recommend this place, hell i will say this but even little caesars is way better than this papa johns!

I came in n to Papa Johns on James St to get my son, whom is in hospital, 2 slices of pizza cause this place is his favorite. He opened the box to dried out pizza. It was so bad that he said that the hospital food was better. I left hospital after I left there which was 2 hours later due to visiting hours. The manager Melissa said she wouldn’t change for 2 new ones‼️ This is rediculous‼️‼️ They knew what it was like. I am so disappointed with this company‼️‼️

Ordered pizza and it arrived totally destroyed. Box was half crushed and the pizza stuck to the box so of course the cheese stuck. Gotta love just crust. Customer service just referred to a survey. Update. It's been weeks since I complained the manager said she would let me have a free pizza. I called no one had a clue what I was talking about and said I have to pay like everyone else. Save your money and don't order here. The fat scumbag that delivered the pizza also smelled horrible and I did not say anything a mixture of drugs urine and no. Almost like he was homeless
