First time here. Moved back to NY State after being gone 21 years; craving pizza. I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE!!! Really good and I folded it!! Thanks you guys! Tina🌼
I've had pizza from almost every pizza competitor. Nick's in East Syracuse, New York is hands down the best in my opinion. For my first slice of New York Pie, I couldn't have expected better! 5* Pie.
DELICIOUS PIZZA! Definitely the BEST in the area, hands down! I love pizza, and have had the pleasure of trying Deep Pan Chicago Style, New York thin Style and all the ones in between from all over the world. Yes, even Paris, France and NICK'S is Da-BEST! We got the Meat Lovers, and OMG, couldn't stop saying to my son with a mouthful of pizza, "Oh my gosh dude, this is so freaking good!" You'll love it!
I was staying at a hotel nearby while in town for a tournament. I decided to try Nick's and I was very pleased with the quality of the food. It was crazy hot inside the store, so I would not want to stay there to eat. The pizza was very tasty and I brought it back for the family to enjoy at the hotel.
Fantastic owners. Wanted to try something new for my employees. Bought 3 large pies and all of it was devoured. Some of the best pizza we’ve ever had. Highly recommend.
I can't comment on most of the menu, but the pizza is great and the people behind the counter are cool and nice. Prices are good too. When people visit me up here (I'm from Long Island), I make sure we go to this place!
Very nice family operated Pizzeria. Everything tasted great, and the prices were very reasonable. Even though they weren't doing deliveries at the time, Nick told me he would deliver to us on his way home from work
We've been hearing about Nick's for sometime. My Fiancé and I live in Fayetteville. My parents and sister came in from Portland, Or. They wanted pizza. They heard from the front desk of the Fairfield about Nick's. Pizza was great, service was excellent and dining room in good shape. Thanks!
Always the best pizza, wings and now calzones. Always fresh, friendly staff, there is nothing negative about Nicks, except I live in Brewerton and they are in East syracuse! I drove their tonight after i came home, and i only work 1/2 mile down the road. Well worth the trip. For a couple bucks more, get the xlarge, HUGE slices. My favorite pizza in syracuse or anywhere, no kidding. My girls loved another place (in mattydale and Cicero, but they have converted, it took one pie!) and now rate all others against Nicks. You have to try it, promise you won't be disappointed.
Excellent NYC style pizza. Very friendly and fast service. Great selection of slices during lunch hour. Definitely the best NYC style pizza in Syracuse!
Aside from supporting a local, independent pizza place, the simple fact is that the pizza here is really good. The chicken on the bufffalo chicken pizza is moist and tender. The red sauce on their traditional pizzas is flavorful, and they are well priced. Slices served at lucnhtime. Worth a visit.
Was visiting Syracuse for a reunion and while at the hotel got a craving for some pizza. Nick's was less than a mile away. They made us an A-1 pizza in 15-minutes! Thank you fine people!!
Unreal how fresh the food was, traveling from boston and will go here every time I am in East Syracuse for work. If you live near here and are not a regular here your missing out. Got the garden salad and steaknand cheese tunnel and nut were very well made and so good.
Ordered from Nick's when we were visiting Syracuse from Canada for a basketball tournament. Service was fast and friendly. Pizza was delicious, and the garlic knots were to die for.
The food is good, pizza doesn't sit too heavy. They have the Best garlic knots. They also have wings hot and ready for the lunch rush. Sometimes gets pretty busy. Depending on where you sit, it could be cold because of the door.
This is our second time eating at Nick’s Pizza and it is DELICIOUS! The crust is thin and crispy with high quality ingredients (the cheese has a rich, buttery flavor). We currently live in Texas and my husband is originally from NY and is very picky about his pizza. My husband said this is the best pizza he’s had in a long time. Wish we had a Nick’s Pizza in San Antonio, TX.
Good pizza, good price, great service.
Very tasty pizza by the slice. I had two mushroom slices and I was amazed at how big they were. The Cheese they use has a nice flavor. the crust was crispy and the sauce was perfect. My only recommendation would have been a few more mushrooms. The place was clean and the bathroom was spotless.
I like the food overall. To Owner: If the owner would seal the calzone edges (both sizes) shut, I'd order a couple each month as the food is good quality. What do I mean by sealed ? Calzones usually have 1 opening, a hole at the top to vent the excess steam pressure from cooking. Folding dough on itself doesn't create a seal and it allows the steam to escape far too easily. ~ Wet the dough edges and press together gently. Your calzones will go from "ok" to "OH YEAH!". <3 Why mention this ? because without the seal, calzones don't full cook inside. I had mozz in mine that still had shreds.
Ordered calzones and wings last night and they were absolutely delicious! Best wings I have had in a while, definitely recommend. The delivery took long because there was an issue with the driver. The manager of the restaurant called be back to apologize for the long wait and refunded me back my money. I appreciate the excellent customer service and genuine people running this business.
The owner was great! I came down from Wisconsin on work and loved the pizza! Such a good hand tossed pie. All the employees were helpful and welcoming. Not to mention that the resturant was insanely clean and up to date. A place with good food, good customer service, and a clean environment.
Nick's has the best pizza, thin crust, tasty cheese and sauce. The toppings are always excellent. Never a bad experience here and the staff is always friendly. Very clean dining area. A great food find in Syracuse!
Being from out of town, it's always risky finding a good pizza. If you're ever in Syracuse you should try Nick's Pizza on Thompson Road about.5 miles south of Carrier Circle. It's a small mainly take out place but all 6 tables were filled and lots of people coming and going with take out. Excellent pizza so you won't go wrong with Nick's.
Came for a slice on lunch and found wings on tap! Mmm dreamy! Pizza was done well, good sauce, good crust, lots of cheese and tasty pepperoni! Though they had 6 or so slice options, I'm a sucker for a classic pepperoni, no disappointments here folks. I recommend Nick's Pizza for a fast, tasty lunch!
Stopped in at Nick's heading back to Ohio from a trip to Vermont....and I am sad that Nick's isn't closer to us....hands down the best pizza I have had in a long time!! Nick and his staff were super friendly and made lunch very enjoyable....the polls that vote Nick's the #1 pizza in Syracuse don't lie! Go get yourself a slice....or 3 ....today!!
This is by far the best pizza I have had in a LONG time! Definitely quality ingredients! Super fresh! Friendly staff and super quick delevery! Don't miss out on the garlic Knotts!
I ordered food at a hotel nearby. People on phone were friendly and willing to help me since I didn't have their physical menu to look at. The food came quick. I ordered the meat lovers pizza which was very tasty and medium wings which also were real tasty. I like when places give celery or carrots in with the wings but I they didn't give any. Also blue cheese container was a bit on the small side but these couple of things don't matter much because food was great!
Great pizza, great service - I don't what Captain "my city throws batteries at Santa" Philly pants down there before my review is talking about, but as NY Style pizza goes, Nick's is amazing, and the staff is great. You want a dollar fountain soda, go back to the McDonald's in Philly - that seems to be where your palate resides. Go Mets.
Awesome! I had a dinner "emergency" last night (a Sunday night) and walked in 7 minutes before closing and they happily helped me. Even after I said I needed 48 wings....with three different flavors they were still nice to me (although I wouldn't blame them if they were grumpy lol). All of the staff was very nice and didn't seem "put out" in the slightest. The cherry on top was the wings were fantastic!! Another item noteworthy was that the place was spotless clean. I have been in A LOT of pizza shops and to be honest - they are not always the cleanest places but Nick's was very clean! Thank you Nick's for helping me feed my three guys so late!
My husband really likes Nick's cheese pizza, and he's really picky about pizza! I'm more of a sub/sandwich person, so I tried the cold ham and cheese (pick your own toppings). It was really good and the bread was excellent. Now I'll make Nick's my go to sandwich shop!
One of my favorite pizza places! Nick's has been a go to since I worked in the area but since moving I still try to make my way over there for a slice! Nick and the staff are always professional and welcoming and the food is delicious!
Pizza was hot and delicious! The staff was very nice and friendly.. they gave my kids a free order of garlic knots. I would definitely recommend them to family/ friends and order from there again! Great business
Updated review 1yr later: I can not say enough GREAT things about Nicks. My Husband, toddler and i love their pizza and love their service! Large slices, great wings, great people. Thank you for saving our Friday night dinner! 1yr ago review: My husband and I discovered Nick's when we moved to East Syracuse a little over 1yr ago. Their pizza is so good, our go to spot. Plus their oatmeal raisin cookies are delicious. The gentleman who cashed me out saw I had my baby with me and carried my pizzas to my car. Very thankful for the service! Thank you!
First time here at this pizza place. Plain cheese isn't my favorite and do recommend pepperoni or sausage helps with the taste of the cheese mix. It's nice that you can see your pizza made in front of you if you order one direct than a slice. Have a good selection of Pure Leaf ice tea that I liked. Service is good and great with regular customers.
Great food. Clean location. Will be back!!
One of the best Pizza Places you will ever visit. You will not be disappointed!
Tried this place while passing through town on a road trip. Was recommended by the front desk at my hotel. Got a pineapple pizza and a salad. Salad was enormous. Pizza tasted so good. Crust was crispy. All fresh. Will stop by again next time I’m in town!
Best pizza and garlic knots we've ever had, so soft and buttery...nice crispy crust on the pizza XL slices. We also enjoyed the wings. Try it you won't be disappointed!!!
Called in for slices of pizza and they were so good and great price! Totally recommend! And their customer service is out of this world, the small gesture they did for me and my little one was out of this world! I cannot thank them enough!!!
Really solid pizza. They have a variety of refrigerator sides, and they always have slices available. The pizza is one of my favorites, and is always really tasty and with a variety of topping. The owners are great people and are happy to stay open a little later if you come in off the late shift. The seasonings are just around the counter in the left. Its great getting to add oregano, garlic and red flakes to your slice!
I was in Syracuse for a visit to the zoo. We stopped in at Nicks at 8:45 pm and the entire staff was so nice. They made us a fresh pizza & garlic knots even though they were getting ready to close. The food was FANTASTIC….I had read all the reviews and this is the reason we decided on Nicks! Highly recommended!!! Food was fresh, hot, extremely tasty!! Thank you Nick’s Pizza!!
This might not be a typical scenario for most pizza customers, but we needed a special order, to feed 40 people, on 24 hour notice. The owner and staff did an amazing job of preparing and packaging the food for our special event! Whenever we are in Syracuse looking for good food, Nick's Pizza 🍕 will be our first choice! Thanks!
Friendly staff & great pizza. Generous pizza ingredients too
I have been touring the Finger lakes for 2 weeks and today I ordered a plain cheese pizza and was fabulous. Great crust, cheese and sauce. Delivery was quick and the driver was very polite and courteous. A big thanks to Nick's you saved my day.
Went here for the first time today. Me and my fiance went to just grab a slice because he has told me several times how delicious this place is, and it didn't disappoint! I had one slice of garlic and it was one of the best garlic slices I've ever had! I will definitely be back to grab more than just one slice!
Great family owned business!! Support Local! I am a native New Yorker and finding NY style pizza in Syracuse is tough. From the moment you walk in the door at Nick's you're taken back to a traditional style pizza with the scents of crispy pizza dough and simmering tangy sauce and lots of melted mozzarella!
If you want awesome pizza, look no further. Nicks is THE place for pizza. They have an assortment of slices each day to choose from. If you want a ridiculously delicious sub sandwich, try the Philly Steak and cheese. Loaded and definitely worth a try.
Amazing New York style pizza. Ordered a large pepperoni and garlic knots. So much food for a good price. The place is in a little shopping strip but the inside was immaculately clean! I was super impressed by everything. Staff was super friendly too! If you live near Nick's I don't know how you could ever order chain pizza.
This is the best place in Syracuse for thin crust pizza. The line was out the door at lunch time but they kept it moving. I have been going to Nicks since it opened and I have never had a thing that was bad! He has a good selection of food! We primarily get pizza and wings (both bone in and boneless). They make them any way you want. My son does not like sauce on his wings and it is taken care of. Nick and his staff are good people serving good food!
Simple is best. This place is not gonna wow you with decor, but that's just fine with me with pizza that's very well made with a good balance of ingredients not to mention how fresh everything was. I treated myself to some of their char-grilled wings and I HIGHLY recommend them to wing enthusiast. Good place nice folks good eats what more could you want?
My daughter and I were starting when we arrived at our hotel in East Syracuse, but after travelers no we didn’t want to go out. After the hotel desk attendant offered Nick’s as her first choice, I ordered from there. The woman who answered the phone was fantastic (even though I knew they must be busy since it was 8 on a Friday night). Then our food was delivered 20 minutes earlier than promised. Everything was absolutely delicious!! Thank you!!!
I've tried 5 or 6 different pizzaria's in search of a favorite "New York Style" pizza place, and this is definitely the best I've had since I moved here a couple of months ago. Staff seems really friendly too! Good tasting thin crust and the most important thing to me is that the sauce has flavor... I'm craving it right now!
We stopped in this evening and was met with a very friendly and clean location. Before leaving, we were chatting with a lady at the restaurant and disclosed where we were staying. We then accidentally left before bringing our slices of pizza with us. To our wonderful surprise, she showed up at our location before we were barely even out of our cars. Wonderful service. Highly recommend.
The pizza was great, coming from an out of town visitor.
Great little pizza place. I don't know anything about Nick's. We were in town for 2 weeks for a job and had been trying out various non-major chain restaurants each day. Nick's had good reviews so we weren't too worried about trying them out. The pizza was awesome. We ordered ahead to stay in and eat for lunch, and we were a little late getting there but they kept our pizza hot by the oven till we got there. They don't have a huge seating area but my guess is more people order to carry out anyways. Everyone behind the counter at one point or another offered additional service in one form or another throughout our visit. Will definitely eat here again next time we're in town.
Nick's pizza is one of the best pizza l have ever tested in my life 😋 l will give them a 10
Awesome pizza spot, typical New York staff, friendly but busy, and great New York Pizza. I was looking forward to it, being in New York and they came thru. Also got a salad, decently priced.
Ordered take out, quick service, helpful with food allergies (PN, TN) and staff was kind. Delicious thin crust pizza. Enjoyed both the regular sauce and garlic 😋
We call Nick’s on a regular basis. Best shop in town!!! And you can’t beat the prices. LOVE IT!!! I’m ordering tonight!!!
It's a mom and pop pizza store..food was good ...portions were HUGE. Wife and I split a calzone and neither of us finished it. The counter person put two slices on the side so we can eat with our son... The other counter person gave them out....so as an apology they gave us a full pie ... We told them that we weren't local but they were like enjoy 🤯. It's a strip mall pizza place with great food and a even better staff
Ordered medium pizza and wings special. The staff was friendly and cheerful. Added 2 toppings and bought a soda all for under $40. The pizza was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The wings were juicy too. Would definitely recommend for pizza and wings.
I just had a 5 hour drive from Connecticut and was in the mood to eat pizza, I saw this place and decided to stop by. I can honestly say that it was an amazing slice, very nice looking, well made slice. It reminded me of what slices in NYC used to look and taste like. The crust was crispy to perfection, the right amount of cheese and the sauce had an amazing herb taste. It felt good being able to sit in there and relax after a long drive, nothing better than being able to sit and enjoy a great slice. Also, it has that old school style of oil dripping from the pizza, I love that ... As an executive chef, I can say that this place, especially for its location is a hidden gem.
We were traveling from Illinois to Maine and we always stop overnight in E Syracuse. We wanted something that would fill up the family and was good. Tried Nick's Pizza and this place came through. The restaurant has the best thin crust pizza - the only downside is that they are so far from home - otherwise we would be taking out all the time. Will be back the next time we come through Syracuse.
The closest thing you'll get to a NYC slice up here! This small restaurant has large by-the-slice options, and there are many to choose from! Drinks are 50 cents for a refill and come in styrofoam, hence the 4 stars. Other than that, I would highly recommend this restaurant as it is great pizza at an affordable cost!
Ordered for a business lunch and learn. Food excellent especially the meat lovers pizza. Excellent choice.
I just ordered a 17inch pie to be delivered… 1/2 was "SUPREME" or was supposed to be and 1/2 was pepperoni and green peppers .. Got the pie and the "Supreme" part was just SAUSAGE???? REALLY? So with tip it was almost $35.00 was a pretty expensive pie .it was good but I had a very disappointed grandaughter… I guess next time I'll know to be more specific..
Friend and I stayed in Syracuse for a wedding and happy to have found this spot. We got our food to go. It was freshly prepared and a fair price for the amount of food we ordered ($17 for two large slices of pizza and a 12-piece wing). The employees were really pleasant and the service was efficient.
Not a bad place to get pizza from, but there are so many pizza places around that not many of them stand out. This place is run by friendly and happy People who know how to make a pizza circle. The real shining diamond of this place is the SAUCE! This delicious sauce coupled with just the right amount of cheese and dough make this place formidable to all it's other pizza opponents!
Sausage and mushroom pizza had good Italian sausage on it, cost $3+ tax. Thin, crispy crust. The dining area is large enough for 20 people to eat and order at once. The take out slices are large.
Really great staff. For two people just stopping by, they took good care of us. They accidentally gave us one wrong slice. They gave us a correct slice for free. Great folks! Thanks Nick& staff!
Picked a spot on maps off Route 90 instead of a rest stop. Wanted pizza and Nick's looked highly rated. Glad we stopped, because their pizza was great! Look forward to trying some other items we are passing through.
Staff was super friendly and the restaurant was clean. We didn't wait long and the food was good and hot.
First time trying this pizza, I'm typically displeased with Syracuse pizza and coming from Brooklyn I have a high standard with pizza. However, I will say, this is my 2nd favorite in the Syracuse area. The cheese was perfect, the crust was almost perfect, very minor flaws that I only noticed literally because I come from Brooklyn, very minor though. The sauce was the only thing that threw me off a bit, a little too thick and a little too much oregano but the sauce was still overall very good. I hate to be critical when I actually like a place such as here but I feel with minor adjustments they'd literally be a 10 out of 10 spot, I'd still recommend it as it is now though.
Fine pizza place in strip mall. Friendly staff, only carry Pepsi brand drinks. Do take card or cash. Brownies looked great. Cheese slice was huge and very good. NYC style. Also tried the garlic slice. Very tasty as well. Nice crisp crust. Another thing to note is they're closed on the weekend.
We have always loved Nick's pizza. The crust was always crispy and delicious. The past three times we have gone, it took forever to get the pizza and the crust was wimpy. Maybe Nick needs a new oven! I'd go back for sure if things improve.
I have to laugh at Syracuse. Ive lived here for almost 10 yrs now and the reviews for food are always insane. Coming from Philly I know great pizza, cheesesteaks, panzarottis and strombolis. Nothing up here comes close. You. all say how wonderful it is, and it is hardly eatable! I just paid 31.00 for a medium pie that was a step above Ellios and 12 medeocre wings. 1.00 tacked on for using a credit card and 2.99 for a fountain soda......why? I can get any size soda at McDs for a buck. Insanity runs amuck up here. Really the palates pale up here....... no joke.
First time customer, placed an order by phone at 8:59pm. Paid over the phone and was told delivery time will be 45 minutes to an hour, cool no problem. It's now 10:50pm I've tried calling the restaurant but no one answered. I'll be calling tomorrow morning for a refund. I'll be sure to update my post in regards to how they handle it. Bummer 👎😤 Update, after calling and speaking to whom I believe was the manager/owner she assured me that I would receive a refund which I did get after a few days and apologized for the matter. I'd give them another chance and pickup verse delivery.
It wasnt a good as expected a big cheesy mess. The only thing really good about the pizza was the robust marinara sauce they used. And the broccoli cheese bites were bland and not worth finishing. Over-priced and definitely over rated!
Placed an order for 2 orders of wings when went to pick up order only one order was there. One employee offered to make another order and I opted to wait, but then then they wanted to charge me for it. I told them no they messed up I should not be charged for their mistake.
Probably the worst tasting Pizza I've ever had. I had a slice of Pepperoni and it was extremely greasy and tasted like pizza from elementary school. The crust was bland and flavorless and it overall seemed like low quality ingredients were used. I also am unsure how long the pizza was sitting out before being reheated. I don't understand that at all. The TV was on but absolutely blaring. I couldn't hear the employee who was chatting with me because of the loud TV but she was very nice. $3 and change for a old and not tasty slice of pizza is also extremely overpriced. I'd say anything over a dollar is way too much money for what you're getting.
The pizza was ok on the first couple bites but then got really hard and chewy towards the crust. My jaw definitely got a work out on the couple pieces I ate. Not impressed.
Used to go here as a regular. Overall great food. However, Saturday night I stopped by after work for a quick bite. I order my usual; a slice of pizza, a drink, and a garlic knot. Pretty basic. I paid the lady and collected my change, not even paying attention to what I was charged. I didn't receive a receipt either. I recently was counting money for budgeting and realized that they had charged me over $15 for my meal. (According to one of their staff it was supposed to come out to around $6. I called ahead and asked if anything could be done. They said possibly if I had the receipt, and even if I didn't that maybe they could figure something out. I drive there and talk to one of the staff about the issue and he seems pretty irritated and disbelieving of me. At this point, I didn't want any free food or even a refund for that matter, just to make sure that that's where my money had gone. He checks the receipts and nothing can be done. He informs me that I can speak with the boss the next day, which I could not do due to working all day. I leave and put it behind me. I drive to the Dunkin' Donuts to get a coffee when I get a call from Nick's on my phone. I pick it up, hoping they found the receipt. Instead, I am greeted to the staff member that tried to find my receipt calling me a thief and to not try that again. He blatantly lies, stating that he made me a calzone Saturday night, which I sure as hell didn't have. I politely told him that accusing his customers of attempted thievery isn't how you keep customers and how he lost a devoted regular. If you're looking for competent and polite staff, steer clear of Nick's.
I ordered the Eggplant Parm which was $10 and when it was delivered, it was literally 1 small slice of eggplant. The side of pasta that came with it filled the entire takeout dish. All tasted great, but if I wanted pasta, I would have ordered pasta and not paid $10. Very Sad, because it tasted good which was just a tease to eat it in 3.5 bites.
The food is ok, I use to eat lunch here a few times a week, and get take out at least 1 night a week. I worked right on the corner of Molloy and Thompson, so it was right down the road. Mostly it was good, one time we ordered and got a terrible pizza that was undercooked and sloppy and called to complain and got nothing but an attitude. Then I went in with the pizza and spoke with the manager and owner, the latter being I think Nick...first the manager insulted me and when I said I come in all the time, he said he has never saw me and I was lying. Then the owner Nick, who knew me by first name and regularly commented I was one of his best customers, didn't say anything to set him right. He refused a replacement pizza or refund, and said in the future I could go somewhere else. And I quote "There are lots of pizza places around you know" and so I don't generally go to Nicks Pizza anymore...also another time I recall Nick telling my friend "maybe you should come a different day and order" and he always was giving people an attitude because we would order on Monday when the pizzas had a special...just a petty scumbag, treats employees like dirt. I would go out of my way to not go here, especially with East Wok next door...Nicks also owns Jreck Subs next door, so thats why it is so terrible. Really though, with Twin Trees and Pavones on this side of town you have no reason to go to Nicks to be treated like dirt. Thanks again, Nick.
After reading all the amazing reviews of their pizza and wings, my husband and I decided to order..what a mistake! We ordered a plain pizza not sure what kind of cheese, possibly parmesan and the crust was tough..we ordered crispy garlic medium wings and there was no garlic and very little sauce that the chicken was not coated..so I guess when we are back in town we will need to find another place to order as we won't waste our money ordering from Nick's on Thompson St again
This has to be the worse pizza shop I have ever ordered from.... Ever!!!!!! They made my entire order wrong and tried argued with me about. I ask for honey barbecue chargrilled wings but they gave me regular fried soggy wings with barbecue sauce on them. I also ordered a chicken bacon ranch pizza but received a dry pizza with only cheese, bacon and chicken NO RANCH JUST DRY!!!!!. Terrible customer service at its best!!!!! I should of stuck to what I know and love, “Franco’s” has the best chicken, bacon ranch pizza in town and “OIP” has the best honey garlic wings!!! They’re always delicious and never disappoints. Even Dominoes have better customer service than Nick’s. Won’t be ordering from them again!
Guy on the phone was rude. Makes jokes about being deaf, and pizza was mediocre. Got a medium special, and I added two gatorades, it goes from 29.99 special to 42 dollars. Terrible across the board
