The food was delish 😍 Ordered an kaw soi chicken and it was muahhhh 🤌🏻✨ the waitress was so sweet and nice, a relaxing place to dine.
We've always had a great experience here! From our sampling of Thai restaurants in the area, this is the most authentic. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly.
Extremely relaxing and the food is amazing. Only one waiter but he is right on the ball. I love this place
Beautiful decor and the food options are very diverse. If you like Thai there is definitely something here, that you'd be looking for.
I loved this place! The food is delicious and I recommend anyone wanting to try out Thai dishes to come to Thai Flavor and give it a try.
Food is very good. Staff is nice and hospitable. Sometimes it's a bit chilly in the restaurant. Would suggest bringing a jacket or sweater if you eat in.
Superb hot dishes! Freshly made and so tasty! Great and super fast service...definitely looking forward to returning for more!
Tasty. Reasonable price for portion size. Only one waitress for whole restaurant but she was attentive. Service stand appeared clean
Best Thai I've found in Syracuse. Awkwardly quiet but the atmosphere is somehow still great. Clean, good service and delicious food.
Misty was friendly, attentive, and awesome. Food was great! Had summer rolls and beef salad, KILLER BITE
Thai Flavor welcomes you with a very warm atmosphere as you enter. The menu offers high quality and delicious dishes. The chefs put a lot of care into making sure all dishes are freshly made. The service is also great and the owner as well as the hostesses make everyone feel welcome with their kind words. I highly recommend Thai Flavor to anyone!
I really enjoy this place! The decor inside is great, food is delicious, and service is fast. The Papua salad is a great appetizer to begin the meal - nice and spicy. Then I generally get a curry and the mock duck (vegan!). Always a filling meal, and the restaurant is rarely crowded.
To the kindest manager at Thai Flavor, thank you! I have been a customer of Thai Flavor for a few years. We don't go every week but every time we crave Thai at home, we either order pick-up or go to Thai Flavor. It has always been satisfying and, sometimes, delicious. The staff is cordial and they make our dinning experience really pleasant. On 03/05/2020, after our grubhub delivery driver literally stole our order, Thai Flavor's manager, Eileen, kindly offered to have their kitchen prepare our order again and personally delivered it to our home. Thai Flavor went above and beyond to make us whole. You will continue to have our patronage. [grubhub doesn't know where the driver is or what happened to him; we do know he misrepresented a problem with the order before vanishing into the Syracuse night]
I have had the pleasure to dine here on several occasions and am always very happy with my meal. The atmosphere is nice, the music is soft enough to have a conversation, and the service is wonderful. I would definitely recommend this establishment for a relaxing lunch or a quiet evening.
I've been to every Thai restaurant in and around Syracuse, and countless others in states all over the US - nothing compares to Thai Flavor. This quiet, modest restaurant goes beyond 5 stars. Every bite is priceless... simply the best Thai food money can buy.
Traveling up north for a tournament, I eat a lot of Thai food back home. I was definitely hesitant bc most of the time when I eat out of town it's so salty. But this place did not disappoint, my favorite dishes are pad thai and massamam curry. Both were authentic and delicious 😋 will be back when I come back to syracuse!!
The absolute best Thai food in town from an unexpected little out of the way spot. Highly recommend the duck salad and the fried tofu with sauce 3 ways. Also best Tom kha soup I've ever had. I could go on. My favorite take out spot hands down.
Thai flavor is my favorite lunch spot - they have a great lunch menu where you choose a small app, entree, and small dessert for a set price of $9 - a great deal! The options are more limited than their full menu - and I was sad that they removed drunken noodle from their options, but their red and green curries are both flavorful and spicy - a must have for a Syracuse winter warm-up. Highly recommend!!
GREAT FOOD! Is it authentic? I've seen several reviews that claim it isn't. I've eaten at dozens of Thai restaurants and this is surely top ranked... as I have never visited Thailand and had authentic Thai cuisine i'll revel in my ignorance and thoroughly enjoy my Drunken noodles and Pad Thai - this place is a win. Delicious - and unless you're a pretentious wannabe hipster foodie, i'm sure you'll enjoy.
Delicious! Most beautiful waitress I've ever seen 😍 also very sweet and nice and helpful. Most delicious Thom Ka Gai
The value of what you get for how much you spend is phenomenal. I ordered the chicken fried rice and chicken massaman curry. I specified to make it very spicy and they did. The food was delicious and the staff is friendly.
One of the best Thai restaurants I've eaten at. Eaten in Thailand and all over North America and everything we ate was exceptional. We had Laab ga, yum woon sen, pad Thai, chicken with cashews, som tum, spring roll and yum pla muk. Many things we ordered were not even on the menu but they were willing to accommodate us. Very nice of them. Great staff and nice atmosphere. When I'm back in the area I will be back here as well. Well done! Thanks
I HIGHLY recommend this place, everything is SO GOOD! Decent portions, everything tastes so fresh and they left little hearts on the TOGO boxes. 10/10. 😊
Ordered galangal soup and shrimp pad thai. Both were delicious, came quickly, and our server was very attentive. The decor is beautiful and music lends itself to a nice atmosphere blending traditional and modern styles.
i’m cool frfr and it’s very bussin snd 10/10 must try again. and the ladies are very nice.
This food was so delicious. I got the spring rolls, muscles, the whole red snapper & spicy drunken noodles with tofu. Everything was so flavorful. The red snapper was my favorite. Fried crispy with perfectly cooked string beans & a nice savory broth at the bottom. The muscles had a tom yom broth! I’ve never had that soup with muscles it’s a games changer. 5 stars all around I recommend.
Ordered take-out which was delicious and ready on time as advertised. There seems to be plenty of seating if you stayed to eat and the environment is calming and feels private. Only tried a couple dishes and no drink(s) but I'm excited to return and try something else and some of their teas as I was pretty happy with what I've tasted so far.
The hospitality at this restaurant is absolutely exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the hostess and promptly seated at a cozy table. Throughout the evening, the staff went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations, and he even took the time to check in with us periodically to make sure that our food and drinks were to our liking.
Pleasantly surprised by this place. Didn't look like much from the road but figured we'd give it a try. So glad we did! I had the Chicken Satay and Lemongrass Shrimp Soup. That was the best soup I have ever had. The broth was so flavorful and it was just the right amount. Chicken Satay was seasoned right and the peanut sauce was delicious. Husband had the Chicken Soup Special. Great portion and taste was on point. Prices are fair and the place had a nice vibe as well as being very clean. We will definitely become regulars!
Always great food, atmosphere and service. C'mon Thai Flavor, you guys can do better. I've been a loyal customer for about 10 years and even defended your honor when debating who is the best Thai place in Syracuse. But your service has to get better. I was in for a quick lunch, we were finally out and hour and half later. The server at lunch needs some coaching. As another reviewer reported, food was coming out all over the place, out of order. Maybe it isn't just the server, maybe it's the kitchen. I don't know, but you need to pull it together.
Went for the first time with my girlfriend. Food was amazing!!! I did order the Thai tea w/boba. The tea itself was great. But, the boba didn’t taste like tapioca that I’m used to. Had a moldy taste. They were horrible. So, I won’t order that again. But, overall, service was great, staff was friendly and not overbearing, atmosphere was pleasing, huge portions of food, and once again…the food was amazing!!! I’ll definitely be back
Thai Flavor is very attractivly decorated restaurant with many interesting paintings and other works of art on the walls. The ambiance is extremely calm and friendly. The menu is extensive and has quite a few dishes that are new to me. I opted for the very reasonably-priced lunch special and especially enjoyed the shrimp with red curry sauce main dish. The lunch special comes with the main dish, soup, and dessert of your choice. Everything was delicious and the soup had an authentic Thai flavor but also seemed to I have a distinctive taste all its own. It appears as if they can serve wine, but I opted for two Thai iced teas which were also delicious. The seating seems equally comfortable for one or two people or a large party. If I had a guest coming in from out of Syracuse, Thai Flavor would be at the top of my list of restaurants to take him or her to. It's a little unfortunate that the restaurant is slightly not in an obvious location. Rather, it's off of Erie Boulevard, which is easy to get to, but just not able to be seen very easily from the road. Still, it's worth any extra effort to go to this restaurant for an outstanding and unique meal for either lunch or dinner. Highly recommended!
Always looks closed from the outside but the hearts of the staff that prepare the food and wait on you can't be beat. My go-to is shrimp pineapple fried rice.
I like to bring my dad and my niece there. When I come to visit, we absolutely love their food. Totally vegan, friendly; totally vegetarian friendly, but there's great food for carnivores, too!
I am so glad I decided to try Thai Flavor. One server for the entire dining room, it was a bit after lunch but there were still about 6 tables plus me and she did an amazing job. Serving, clearing, bringing checks, etc. I had the lunch special, appetizer, entree and dessert. The Thai dumplings were ok, but the filling was a bit dry and almost no flavor. Then my delicious green curry arrived and it was the star! I could taste all the spices and the chicken was very nicely cooked as were the vegetables. I didn't use a lot of rice because I was just using my spoon and drinking the curry sauce like a soup. The dessert was a very small piece of coconut flan....so small but it was really all I needed and it was delicious. The serving was a small lunch serving and next time I'll order a full size dish so I can have leftovers!
Best veggie mix I’ve ever had in massaman curry and it also had tofu, I’m used to having to pick one. Tofu was fried so the sauce clung to it great, and all the veggies were cooked really well. Potato and eggplant were super tender but not falling apart, broccoli was still firm but cooked, etc. Same veggies and tofu (minus the potato, as per the dish description) in the green curry. Mild/medium spice levels were true to expectations. We will definitely be back!
I am extremely satisfied with everything that we got tonight. From the drinks to our meals, I definitely tasted the Thai flavors. The spicy lemongrass soup was perfect especially when since it’s cold outside 😂. The shrimp tamarind and the red snapper whole fish was just so beautiful and delicious. They’re also hosting a live music on Valentine’s Day, which is amazinggggg! I’m definitely going back there!!!
What an amazing find. I’ve lived in New York City where I fell in love with Thai food. The cheap and delicious lunch specials were out if this world. And I’ve been looking for the same thing in Central NY. I’ve been told that my favorite NYC Thai chefs were from Chaing Mai, and when I visited Thailand and went to that area to eat, it was just like being home. I also noticed the difference between this area and others in Thailand. Well I was pleasantly surprised to experience those flavors again at Thai Flavor. The food is great. The service is very good. The decor is also authentic Thai. When we went the restaurant was pretty empty, which was a red flag, but turns out that this just might be an undiscovered gem. Maybe area locals come at lunch time instead of dinner. Do yourself a favor and eat here, we’ve been back twice already and live 45 minutes away. If we lived closer we’d be here all the time. Yum, I’m missing it already. .
Ate here for dinner with a couple of friends since we were in the mood for Thai cuisine. The food and service didn't disappoint, with all our dishes of curry and pad thai tasting excellent. They also have Thai beer which was nice to try! The only thing I would suggest they do is put on some traditional Thai music in the background or something, as it was very quiet in there. I would come back here again however!
A great experience on a snowy day. My daughters and I visited for her birthday. We started with soup. Tom Ga and Shrimp with lemon grass. We were big fans of another restaurants soup these were as good or better. The staff was very attentive. A varied selection of teas all served with a small dish of cookies or a cupcake. We were torn between the orange and chrysanthemum teas. We all loved our meals. More shrimp per dish than any other restaurant I remember. The pineapple curry rice was served in a pineapple half! A real wow for anyone who loves out of the ordinary authentic cuisine.
Came here for lunch and ordered the pad thai chicken lunch. This came with an appetizer, the pad thai and a dessert. A good amount of food for lunch and a low price. I'm definitely going back.
Food: Lots of flavor for the tongue, Service: waitress and server were very polite, cost:$76 for two with large appetites lol, Overall: A pleasant experience although I would advise ordering light if you are on a budget.
Excellent thai restaurant at a reasonable price. Not fancy, in a closed former mexican restaurant. Food is fresh and well prepared. Have not had any disappointing dinners.
Don't get the pad Thai. It's mostly noodles. But over all the place is great. Quiet. Good service. Good food. Really interesting dishes.
The lunch special is very impressive, being both tasty and well priced. Recommended!
Great food. Limited selection but very good. Price is reasonable and service is both English and timely.
Had a very good meal! Will defitely go back when in the area. Good variety of dishes on the menu. The waitress was delightful, and the interior is very pleasant.
We had take out for dinner from Thai Flavor and really enjoyed our dinner. I had a mango chicken curry that was delicious and had the perfect amount of spice. If i compared this food to the best Thai food I've had, it probably deserves a 3.5 but I think this is good food for this area.
Quiet place on a Monday for lunch. Had the basil chicken, very good. Lunch deal includes app, entree and dessert $15.00.plenty of good food. Service was great.
You can't beat the price. Great atmosphere and the food is delicious. Lunch specials are awesome. It's an old Mexican restaurant, but they've decorated it to look authentic. Give it a try.
The interior is surprisingly lovely. There's large windows into the patio and intricate tapestries for tablecloths. We had from the recommended menu, spare ribs and the red curry chicken mango dish. The ribs were decorated with carrots and cilantro. The curry was a nice a nice orange with cut chicken carrots and mangos. It was a punch of flavor and not so spicy that I would cry. TLDR: This place looks abandoned on the outside due to the Venetian blinds for the enclosed patio but the inside was beautiful and the food was great.
The food is perfect and they have great serving sizes. The staff are very friendly. I haven't dined in; just takeaway. They don't seem to be ss busy as they could be; people should go check them out!
Thai Flavor is an inviting Thai restaurant that captures the authentic essence of Thai cuisine with a modern twist. The menu offers a wide range of traditional dishes, from spicy curries to flavorful noodle dishes, each bursting with bold, aromatic spices. Whether you're in the mood for something sweet and savory like Pad Thai or a rich and aromatic green curry, there's something to please every palate.
In town overnight for an early flight. I love trying different Thai restaurants ever since my visit to Thailand. I had the curry puffs and the C1 - Pad Kro Pao (basil sauce) with medium spice level. The curry puffs were delicious. The pad kra Pao was good but the spice was very weak for ordering medium. Next time I will get a higher spice level. The wait staff were friendly and very efficient.
The food here is delicious, but has become A LOT pricier since COVID. With the Thai Fresh Rolls, you used to get two full rolls. Now they give you one, cut into 4 pieces for almost double the price. I’ve always loved this restaurant, but was disappointed with our last visit. Still giving 4 stars because the food has always been fresh and delicious, and always friendly staff.
Food was very tasty occupies all allergies. Restaurant is not clean, there are spider webs in the restaurant. There is only one staff who keeps on running, so service is slow.
The person taking orders is a robot with no customer relations and if that is not enough, packs your food with ice cream in the same plastic bag. By the time you get home, its all melted and kind of mixed with the mediocre food. Wont go back for sure
The food is okay. Got the veggie pad Thai — barely any veggies. Got a side of rice for FIVE DOLLARS, that was in a small container and not even filled, it was in a Saran Wrap ball…it was sad. I would’ve paid $2-3 in nyc for that rice. Super overpriced and disappointing. $50 for two things on the menu. Wanted to love this place more.
An average Thai eat-in and take-out restaurant. Friendly wait staff. Fast service. The Pad Thai is 90%+ noodles. Great if you need a carb overdose. Not so good if you want to eat an authentic Pad Thai. Prices are reasonable for what you get. But if you crave authentic Thai food this isn't the place to satiate it.
Update: Beef Green Curry not what it used to be. Decent, but no longer life changing. I can’t stop ordering the beef green curry😫 Other dishes are also great, but this dish will hook you. You’ve been warned
The food lately hasn't been as good as it used to be. Much much smaller portions now and more expensive. We don't mind paying premium prices for a really good meal, but sadly, the food has been inconsistent in both flavor and quality. In a recent order, we had two dishes with chicken and we couldn't figure out what was wrong with some of the chicken. It was a strange consistency and was possibly undercooked? Not all of it was like that though, but some was inedible and gross. We've also noticed sauces seem watered down, which also waters down the flavor. We've been coming here for years for sit down and take out, so we are sad to see the change in quality. We'll keep trying and hope for an improvement. We would hate to see them go out of business because they're choosing to charge more for lesser quality food. Thai Flavor, please take note of these comments...we want you to succeed!
Was very very good but my crab fried rice was supposed to have tomatoes didn’t have any. I asked the waitress she went and asked the chef and he said we were very low on them.!!!! Wow, I guess I couldn’t have had them they were for someone else ?????The last of them !!!!was very weird for him to say that … was disappointed
Awful! Our food came at different times, so while one was done eating the next person was just getting their entre. Everything was out of order and the desert we ordered wasn't right, to which the waiter said he knew but they had just cut a piece. The waiter said he was sorry that the food was bad and he knew it was an awful experience. We got up and walked out!
Extremely overpriced for what you get. $44 for two takeout entrees, spring rolls and soup is absurd in Syracuse. The quality of the dishes was sub par. Will not go back.
Ordered takeout. The beef salad was disappointing. I eat Thai food a lot and this was not good. Typically it is sliced beef in the salad. This was deep fried and not very good.
Ordered a Drunken Noodle dinner to take home. When i got home flavor and taste was fine. But not the hair i found. Nicest people when i picked up. But disappointed when i got home. The owner Mom and daughter helped me and i gave them a big tip because they where so nice and helpful when i picked up...i will try it again maybe in future.
If you want poorly executed Chinese flavored Thai dishes then this is the place for you. Flavorless vegetables are also available. Group of 6 of us, 10 minute span from first main dish service to the last. We also had a few ants climbing up the booth to keep us entertained while we waited.
Went in with high expectations from Google reviews and came out with a sour taste. The food was not as authentic as other Thai restaurants we have tried. The Pad Thai was average and I would recommend a pass on the sweet and sour chicken. The staff was friendly but lacked customer service. We had to call out for service multiple times and towards the end when we asked for to go bags and cups it was simply put in the bar area, making us stand up to put our own items into the bad and pour or drinks into the to go cup. This would not have been an issue if they would have provided the bag and cup at the table, but to make us go and get them was not the greatest of service. We are still glad we got to try a new place, but we will have to look elsewhere for Thai food in Syracuse.
Five people went on a Monday evening while in town for a conference. The food was good enough and it is an extensive menu. But service was atrocious. Had I only been there with my wife, we would have walked out. It wasn't that busy but we sat for an hour before we were noticed. Finally they took our orders. Main dishes were brought out sporadically and one person finshed before another person had any food. Drink orders didn't come out until after the first main dishes came out. (Main rule of restaurant management: bring out drinks immediately!) Those of us who ordered soup got our soup AFTER the main course. They were probably very short staffed but it was about the worst service I'd ever experienced.
I started by giving this place a 1 star, I was angry at the prices and unfortunately let it be known. I was charged $12 on my tab for 2 cokes and one refill of each. I paid $9 for 3 small chicken satays and $9 for a small dish of calamari. the entrees were reasonably priced for the quality of food, and I do have to add the food was delicious! I was not happy with the service however, as it was not that busy and I felt she was taking her time. I had to wait an extended amount of time twice to be helped. Bear in mind, I had a 12 and 2 year old with me. We wanted to eat and go lol. I am all about supporting small businesses, but the energy just did not match on this one. The service should match the price and it didnt.
Ordered spicy basil fried rice but got some Chinese style fried rice with dark brown chicken and tasted disgusting. And a Pad Thai tasted too sweet and no peanuts in it. Never again.
Went to there and been charged more than what I wrote on the receipt. I have to go to there again to argue about the activity on my credit card and they told me to come couple hours later. Then they faked a receipt for the amount charged on my credit card. They have credit card fraud issues and they just fake your handwriting if you argue with them. Never go to this place again.
I ordered chicken pad Thai online, got there to pick it up and they had made me chicken fried rice, so I waited until my order was made again. Once I got home I opened it and they had made shrimp pad Thai and the shrimp tasted bad. If I had an allergy I would have been in serious trouble.
If you are willing or have the time to sit in the empty restaurant and wait for an hour after your scheduled pick up time for some average tasting food, then this is the place for you. If any of the above is not something you enjoy, I would find somewhere else to eat. You can find better prices, better food, and far better service.
Very nice atmosphere! Wonderful service! Perfectly delightful food! Love the Tom Ka Gai Coconut soup! Fresh vegetable & food! So tasty & fresh! THAT WAS 4 YEARS AGO!! I've been driving an hour to get their Thai food but this was the worst boiled meat tasting garbage I have ever eaten!! So disappointing!! They must have taken over by new people because it is absolutely disgusting in that restaurant!! There was lint & dust hanging 2 inches down from the vent OVER THE BAR!! I will NEVER go in that building ever again! The Tom Kai Gai ( chicken with coconut) soup was bland. NOT FRESH! The Yum Nur ( Beef Salad ) was rubbery & tasted boiled! I will learn how to make before ever stepping foot in that establishment EVER AGAIN!!
At 13.99 a dish I would have expected more chicken and vegetables.....I basically got 5lbs of flavored rice. We ordered 4 dished and all were the same all rice and noodles no vegetables and chicken. Very disappointed. On the upside it was speedy service via grubhub
I ordered from this restaurant and they sent me the wrong order. They took my money and refused to reimburse me. I spent a lot on several dishes. I am sick and I can not be in public. I need my food delivered. They took my money and did not reimburse me. I called them twice and they said, we have your food here, come pick it up!!! NO I WILL NOT PICK IT UP. I am sick!!!! I ordered this food to be delivered. It took hours to get here and the order is 100% wrong. This place is a scam. Do not order from here.
I ordered delivery. Green curry, masaman curry, fresh rolls and spring rolls and none of it was good. I kind of want my money back. The masaman curry is weird and the green curry is not even green curry and it is soooo fishy. I love thai. Ive had it from all kinds if places. This food is horrible.
We did take out from these folks. Absolutely disgusting food and service. Would give zero stars if I could. Spent $165.00, (includes a $30 tip), on the worst possible Thai food in Syracuse!! Rotten tomatoes, and old hard bitter pineapple in the rice. The rice was so old and so overcooked we weren't sure what grain they gave us. Coconut Curry like water. Old brown vegetables. Their fried veggie dumplings are these mystery green triangles that taste like old oil. Gross. We had to throw away everything. It was a real shame. My brother was in from Florida and we were so excited to order Thai because it’s one of our absolute favorites. All the lovely fresh vegetables, proteins and fluffy Jasmin rice. Uh uh, None of that! We were both like WOW when we called them for help, and they said it was all their original recipes & they were sorry we didn't like the food? They didn't even offer new food for us to pick up, or to deliver a new order & pick up the old from us. Nothing.. Even after we told them about the rotten vegetables and that they can clearly see everything for themselves. Then, when I asked for a refund they passed me off to two different people then she said I had to travel to the restaurant for cash, she wouldn’t refund my credit card, and would only give me a 50% refund. I told them I was prepared to give them a really bad, but honest review, I just wanted a full refund. But here we are because they said, "go ahead, we don't care." I did end up going to the restaurant, and they did give me the 50% refund in cash. But man! I don’t know about you, but they made it real hard for us to get anything decent from them. The whole experience was Really disappointing. Wish I took pictures to show y’all.
We have been dining there for more than 10 years but our recent visit (after the ownership change ) was a horrible experience. I had the worst lunch in my whole life! Just heated canned food, nothing close to Thai and high price. If you love Thai food, then never go there.
Cold food microwaved, food smells bad, cold customer service and cold hospitality. Not children friendly restaurant at all…charges extra fees, I don’t recommend this Thai Flavor restaurant at all. Compare to Thai Loves NY in same city, Thai Flavors is a total, complete opposite! If ANYONE thinking about trying Thai food, please try….Thai Loves NY first! In same city, price reasonable and I promise you won’t forget the taste…Thai Flavor so pricey and not deserve the price for a decent meal!!! TRUST ME…try the two restaurants I mentioned and you will taste the differences!!!
Do you want to know why your restaurant is almost always empty? Your food sucks. Your chef can't even cook a simple fried rice or a cup of coffee. A new chef will be a good idea.
