Had a good lunch here today. I've had several good meals here, but I don't feel comfortable yet giving them a 5 for the food (even though I want to) because there's always something off. Not enough to ruin the meal, just a little bit not right. Example today: I started with the sunshine roll and it was some of the best sushi ever. The shrimp in it had the perfect crunch and flavor. The cream cheese and scallions went great with the shrimp. I followed with hot and sour soup served hot (temperature) and hot (spicy). It might be too spicy for some but just right to me. I asked my server, who was wonderful BTW, for a description of the crispy Thai chicken that I eventually ordered as my meal. She said it was a chicken breast, panko breaded, and fried. I like white meat chicken, so it sounded good. When it arrived, there was no white meat chicken... all dark meat. It was still good but not what was advertised. Keep trying, Lucy Ho, you're doing a lot of things right... just work on a few details.

When on vacation, one doesn't want just to go out for dinner, one wants an experience. And that's what my family received!!! Tuna tar tar, red dragon roll, sweet and sour bento box, seared yellowtail roll, every single menu option and drink option was beyond expectations. Stephanie was out waitress, but as soon as we walked in, we were met by Wayne, an imposing figure, all smiles and very welcoming!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and service more than most places. If you are in Tallahassee, and you need sushi, this place will not disappoint!!! Job well done across the board! Thank you so much!!!!

First time guests - absolutely pleased with our visit to Azu! Wonderful experience from the moment we walked up to the restaurant! The door was opened by the manager, and we were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile! Chris, our server walked up to our table with an enthusiastic energy, excited to walk through the menu with us as well as list his recommendations, with details of why he recommends them; described what to expect down to the pros and cons to options available (sodium/sugar levels) WOW! I cannot even begin to express how refreshing it is to come to a restaurant and to have this level of care from start to finish! We are customers for life! We had a great experience here for our annual Christmas Eve dinner. The service was fast, and the waiter gave us a wonderful suggestion. He was spot on as what he suggested was the amazing. The food was delicious, and the portions are huge.

This is a Tallahassee treasure. The food is always great. We dined in for lunch for about $15 a person. The bento boxes called our names. LOTS of food that was delicious! There were few patrons; it was about 2:00 pm. The service was on point. The restaurant is clean with a very nice casual atmosphere.

I have just added a new dish to my all-time favorite list!! (Read on to find out) Do not let the fact that this is in a strip mall deter you from stopping. it is well worth it. There wasn't a greeter, so I went directly to the lounge. I actually went for the old standby, wonton soup. The clearest consomme I've ever had actually, but it was so packed with flavor! The dumpling appeared to be house made but lacked any flavor. For dinner, I chose the Crispy honey pineapple shrimp... one bite, and it immediately made the list. Amazing is all I can say!! Great combination of savory and sweet, the dish had complete balance. Highly recommend stopping. Nice selection of sushi too.

Tried and true, the best Chinese in town has to be Azu! At least based on their General Tso’s chicken. About as perfectly prepared as it could be - crunchy exterior, fluffy, juicy Middle, with a good coating of sauce that doesn’t ruin the crunch. The bento box is a good deal. Recently returned here with a friend who works at another Asian cuisine establishment and he was blown away by how well prepared their food was! My sister spent 8 weeks in China and said they have the most authentic Gyoza she has had in town. Great aesthetic for a date night too!

The food here is amazing and the service was A+. We went here during our hour lunch and when I mentioned we were on a time crunch the server got us our food super quick. Also the main dish was super good. The only part of the bento box I didn't care about was the rice and egg roll. They lacked flavor, but the rest was amazing! I would go again for sure!

Super yummy, everything we tried. Great mix of Buffet style Chinese and some sushi. The DIY Tuna Tartare chips were awesome, only made me wonder where the Eel sauce and green onions were. Lindsey was out ever-present server. Crowded house on a Sunday afternoon but worth it. Buffet and menu options available. Only pic I got was my wife's dessert plate.

I had a very special experience of American-style Chinese food with my family at Azu Lucy Ho’s restaurant in Tallahassee. We ordered House Pan-Fried Noodle, Nabeyaki Udon, and Mapo tofu. Here are some points to evaluate our experience: The portion size was huge, much bigger than what we are used to in northern China; The taste was similar to southern sweet dishes, but we could clearly feel that it was not traditional Chinese food, including the Mapo tofu which was also sweet and more refreshing, very unique; The appearance and texture of the Chinese dishes were still obvious, the Mapo tofu looked tempting, and the noodles were well-made. The only thing that I couldn’t accept as a Chinese person was that they put a lot of broccoli in both noodles, which masked the flavor of the other ingredients. The service was the best I have ever had in a Chinese restaurant, comparable to most western restaurants, a very good experience. I also want to share a funny story about our meal. When the waiter brought the noodles, I saw that the noodles looked like dry instant noodles on a plate, topped with a lot of beef sauce. I didn’t know how to eat it, so I asked the waiter timidly. He was stunned for a long time, looking at me, a Chinese person who only speaks Chinese, asking him how to eat noodles. He finally said that I just need to mix it and then eat it. I couldn’t use chopsticks to eat the noodles because of their shape, so I had to use a knife and fork to finish them. Overall, it was a good experience.

The sushi lunch combo was fantastic! The sushi was fresh, even though I had it delivered. The Crispy spicy tuna roll was fantastic. The other roll I had was good but not my normal taste as it had cream cheese in it. I just picked a second roll at random so it's my fault I ordered it. The Krabi Rangoon was also delicious but I thought the sauce a little too sweet for my taste. The salad had Cucumber and mixed gree s. The ginger dressing was okay. Will I be back? It is worth going to again. I may try a different sushi roll.

Most things here are really tasty. I've has many different dishes and we often go as a family or get take-out. On Saturdays the dim sum is good. My faves are the different noodles, especially the rice noodles, salt n pepper shrimp, wings, mongolian beef, kids like the general tso. They used to offer an awesome buffet until Covid; that's how I tried many other dishes. The sushi is good too.

Trip Advisor rates this as the #1 Sushi Restaurant in Tallahassee. I agree! By far the best sushi I have had so far in the city. Service was amazing, and the food was even better. No happy hour specials, so this is definitely a place to come on a special occasion. Delicious!

Our service was great! We loved the food. Everything was delicious and fresh. The portions are large and we had enough to take home for lunch the next day.

Excellent food, good wine, great service! The Seafood fried rice is an entree in and of itself! The Orange duck was superb...oven roasted and not at all greasy. And even the General Tsao Chicken was perfectly spiced and tasty!

We needed to feed about 15 people and needed the platters made in less then 2 hours. To my surprise they were more then willing to make this happen. I did not know what to expect when I showed and I was blown away by the size of the platters and the price for them. This place came in clutch and I would recommend them to anyone in the area.

Ok edit: I'm back on Saturday this is EASILY the ABSOLUTE BEST DIM SUM I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE TIME! LIKE WOW! They have made a regular outta me! Though I just wish it wasn't just Saturday they have dim sum!😭

Ordered gluten free options here. Food is fresh and amazing and tastes so good. I can’t wait to go back. Been twice and haven’t been glutenized. Love when I find a place that won’t make me sick. Staff are very kind and great service. Will be back often.

Whole other restaurants have become much more expensive, Azu prices are still very reasonable. Sushi is what we favor, the tree is fried food on the menu as well , a good assortment of noodle.s to choose fom and super nice people. The Sunday buffet is always good, happy hour Thursday is generally a great time.

We had a fairly large group on a Tuesday night. We called ahead. They seat us right away. The food was super staggard. We were at two large tables in a semi private space. We had two servers at first. The food took a long time. They served sushi without soy and it was several minutes before the server was even seen to ask. Most of the appetizers were out, eaten, and dishes cleared before mine was served. One gentleman kept waiting and still didn't have dinner when the rest of us were through. All that said. The food was great. The group likes each other and had plenty to talk about.

How did I forget to review this place? As a Celiac and someone married to an Asian-American, the food I miss the most since my diagnosis is Asian foods of all kinds. While on vacation in Florida, I found Azu Lucy Ho's, which has a separate gluten-free menu. They also provide gluten-free tamari. As far as the gluten-free food, while I thought the house salad was a rip-off at $6, I liked the $18 Mongolian beef and the $21 Yu-Shang Triple. The scallops were HUGE too. While the regular menu is much larger, I was just happy to get some Chinese-American food for once. I'd love it if they could make a gluten-free green onion pancake because I was jealous of the normal one my husband ordered. The owner was also a totally chill guy and very personable. Overall, if you're a Celiac, I definitely recommend this place. Visited: May 2024

This restaurant is located in a plaza not far from the main road, there’s plenty of parking. The shopping center is not very busy and a few stores in it are closed. It’s not far from the firehouse subs. We came on a weeknight for a late night bite of food and a drink. After driving from Ocala Florida. The server was nice and the food was great. The portion sizes are huge, two people could probably share one. We didn’t get to try a lot of places on our visit to Jacksonville, but this was one of the more memorable places we did visit. We took our leftovers home and put them in the hotel refrigerator and heated them up the next day. They were just as yummy as the first day!

Consistently 4 stars, good food and service, only not 5 stars because I’ve never left thinking that was the most amazing thing I’ve ever had but I’m always really happy and I’m not going to say no if this place if suggested. I guess they recently took away bar seating which is a bummer for me. Also, I have an addiction to ginger dressing and I really do not like their ginger dressing, it’s watery or something. The decor, lighting, and music could be a little better but you shouldn’t pass up on at least trying this place. I’ll be back probably semi consistently a couple times a year.

The food tastes great! We eat lots of sushi and kids love the bento made for them. Our dinners and lunches consistently taste same and good. Their sodas need a little more carbonation and that is the only flaw. Great service and clean place to eat. Plenty of parking even in busy days. Prodes are fair. Must give it a try if you never been here before. You won’t regret.

I'd heard about this place from a number of different people either suggesting it or saying it was alright. I happen to fall somewhere in between. I went for the Sunday brunch buffet. I believe they just raised the price to 14.95 if I'm not mistaken, so that was a bit much. They have a pretty small location, and it was BUSY that day. There was close to no parking at all, and there was at least a 20 minute wait. The place isn't normally a buffet, so on Sunday they have the food in containers out on tables, but it makes it more cramped. The food was good, there was an okay selection. I don't think it's worth the price though. You could go to another Asian buffet and get more either for the same price or less. I haven't tried their regular menu, so I can't speak for that. As far as the staff goes, they are nice and courteous. I had no issues with them at all. I don't know if I would come back for the brunch buffet, but I would come back to test their menu out.

This is the second time my wife and I have eaten here. Overall the food and service are great. Thankful for the reviews online - otherwise we would have never dared to go in. From the outside, the place looks closed, not very appealing - nothing attracting you to go inside. Again, thankful for the reviews online. Once inside, the place is clean and comfortable.

My husband and i had a wonderful time when we went 12/10/19. The presentation of the food was beautiful, sushi was delicious, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The staff were attentive as well. The menu pretty standard for Asian cuisine but was recommended by a former employee.

Always a great experience, best around, only complaint is they took Baby Clams off the menu, other than that is was delicious as usual!

The young woman server was friendly but was very much in a hurry. She kept asking if we were finished, wanted a box, ready to pay, etc. I finally had to tell her that we were going to eat our food there, did not want the check yet. Her being in such a hurry to rush us ruined the experience.

AZU is an innovative sushi spot with a posh atmosphere that makes it perfect for a fancy date night out in town. I ordered the poke bowl and was surprised to find it served as an appetizer without rice, designed to be sharable. While I did not realize that until it arrived, the presentation and flavors were fresh and enjoyable. This place clearly puts thought into offering something different, and it makes for a memorable dining experience.

Not what it used to be! The good: crab Rangoon were large but no crab. Crispy pineapple shrimp and crab explosion sushi roll were on point. The bad: Mango beef- tenderloin chunks were too big and tough. The sauce was too salty and tasted starchy. The ugly: chocolate trilogy dessert was supposed to be layers of mousse, which it was but the dessert arrived frozen, had the consistency of ice cream and lacked in flavor.

Started with Peking Duck,it was so tough 😫 The waitress was polite and changed to the salmon. The salmon was good. However, they did not season their vegetables at all. As much as we enjoyed Dao, this was a let down.

Too pricey for the quality of the food. The restaurant is nice, and the server was very friendly, but the food lacked taste. It was ok, but not delicious. And when you go out and spend $50+ per one person, you would expect it to be very good, not "meh!".

I stopped in for lunch and unfortunately left underwhelmed. The sushi was the highlight of the meal and easily the best thing I ordered; fresh, well-prepared, and enjoyable. The moo goo gai pan was decent and probably the safest non-sushi option on the menu. However, the cashew chicken was very disappointing. The sauce completely overpowered the dish and dominated the entire plate in an unpleasant way, making it difficult to enjoy any of the individual flavors. A not to mention that the sauce did not even taste good, had it, it over taking the dish may have been a positive but as for this experience it was nasty. Overall, while the sushi alone might justify a return, the hot entrées were inconsistent and not worth the price. With better balance and execution on the cooked dishes, this place could improve, but as of now it’s a 2 out of 5 experience.

The food used to be very good. The past few visits, I have noticed the food has gone downhill. I ordered sushi, hot and sour soup, and a house salad. The sushi was very dry. The shrimp in it was rubbery and seemed old. The salad was terrible. The lettuce was brown and not fit to eat. The soup was so hot I could not eat it. It was never burn-your-stomach-lining hot before. It may have been from the day before. I like spicy food, but it was beyond anything I could tolerate. Maybe you get better food if you dine in.

Today I ordered Thai fried chicken. This fried chicken doesn't taste any different from the others. There is no special sauce.Several pieces of fried chicken were placed on a whole plate of green vegetables. It looks like a lot of fried chicken, but in fact, many of them have no meat, only skin.(Please see the photo I have attached). The rice is a very very small bowl!. As a girl who doesn't eat much, I don't even feel full. We also ordered sweet tea. The waitress only give us one time to refill. And the refill She gave it to us is even not sweet tea! When we wanted to pay, no one bring bill to us, we wait for a long time. And we must go to the front desk, then we have waited again at the front desk because their machine has a problem. I don't think I'm going to be in this store again. It was not a great experience.

Bad experience for dim sum lunch today. Food was pretty bad. The buffet is usually pretty decent for the price but avoid dim sum menu. The house mustard was absolutely foul too.nobody cared.

挂羊头卖狗肉,别来。Not for Chinese. Other Chinese people, please forget you know Chinese and ignore all dish names in Chinese because they are NOT what you expect. For example 夫妻肺片(normally a cold dish soaked in hot chili oil) is a boring stir fry here. Another dish had a similar problem but I don’t remember what it was. Just imagine the best thing in a dish is the cilantro on top….. There was one time I asked for take out they asked me to wait 40 min to pick up and when I showed up they told me I got here too late they need to re-cook it and I have to wait. The portion of poke bowl is very small. Just total disappointment every single time I came here. I don’t know how they managed that. I have absolutely no idea why people speak highly of this place.

I have no complaints on the tastes of the dishes, because we have been frequent customers (not so much in the past few years because we have been busy to eat out). But we love the food always. But really disappointed the fact that we ordered a whole peking duck, $50 on Uber eats and picked up. Got home only to find out it didn’t look like a whole duck. Called and explained what happened, after them going through a few phone and online orders of “half duck” that were not ours, finally, the receptionist was able to see our online order of a whole duck - still insisted that I got a whole. I understood mistake could happen, could have been many people ordered half of it that night and our order got mixed up. But well, she insisted that I got a whole thing. Well, she asked how they can fix my problem. I sincerely said that i wanna hear how the restaurant offers to fix my problem because I didn’t want to be demanding, but she couldn’t say what. So I said because we lived a bit far, couldn’t come and get the other half, so I asked for partial refund. Even I said I could send a pic of what the portion looked like to prove it. Only to be told that I had to contact Uber eats. So why asked me how to get the problem fixed? I took a picture when first opened the box, had to leave the skin aside to see what underneath, 6 pieces of meat with some shredded, really not that much. If this is really the whole duck, they need to work on getting a good sized duck because this is way too expensive. Sorry I’m not returning anytime soon.

I ordered through Uber eats literally because my car broke down a few hours ago and I was starving. This is what was sent. I go to this restaurant all the time and never have been so disrespected in my life. This is not how the shrimp for the Bang Bang Mango Sushi Roll should look! I am super angry and would be at your door right now if I could. You literally burnt the shrimp! Would you all eat this?!

I am a big fan of honesty. When you a employee telling you one thing and you had to drive 10 miles to get there and find out that it was not true it is called dishonesty. I give one star for everything if you are going to lie to your customers, or should I say potential customers. Buffet is only on Sundays and when I called they told me they have Buffet now. I take care of a daughter so I can't spend a lot of money I like to eat.

Overall terrible experience. We got here at 1:30pm, which should be a busy hour but only 2 more tables besides us, it’s ok as I personally don’t like a noisy dining environment. What we didn’t know was that it’s just a start. As my friends who recommended us here said the quantity is sufficient and the taste is pretty good, we figured we can order three mains and take one out for dinner. After asking whether we are ready to order while we just sit down, Mr. Waiter didn’t show up until 10mins later. However, it appears one Bento box, one Stirred fried rice, and one $22 Sushi special is just enough for two people. We are Chinese, the taste was ok, but a little bit salty, so as you can imagine, we finished our iced water pretty quick, and the empty cup just stayed there for at least 15mins while no sign of our guy. Finally Mr. Waiter showed up, he only refilled one cup and gone. As we thought things couldn’t get any worse, I saw a dark hair on a green pepper of the Bento box. I went to ask for the manager, one of the waiter called a higher rank waiter, whom she said she “is not the manager but she can be”. As I insisted to talk to the manager, what she was doing was only hum and haw. The solution was she took the almost finished Bento box away along with the $12 on the receipt. Yep, nobody got hurt but me, who knows how many hairs I just ate. Terrible services, terrible kitchen hygiene, terrible after-sale service, okay food. Won’t come again, nobody deserves this kind of experience.

L

I have no idea how this place is popular. I ate here twice: once for regular dining with oily, fatty, flavorless food, and once for the buffet, which was like something made by someone who didn’t know how to cook. On top of that, too many people squeezed in a small space and small tables around tight buffet zones. Overall, the food tastes weird. I don’t understand why some of my friends keep coming here.

M
Miss Purple

Filthy bathrooms and rude staff. There was feces all around the women's toilet seat. The Hispanic middle aged female at the bar was treating people like dirt. Horrible service. Everytime I went to speak she just walked away. Another woman at the bar told me you're not imagining it....she really is that rude. Tried to tell her the deplorable state the bathrooms were in and she did nothing to correct it. They should change the name from Azu to A-poo because that's what you're going to deal with in the bathrooms.

P
Patient Feedback

The women aren't friendly at all and the male staff are a little TOO FRIENDLY. Bring a man to protect you. The restaurant is DIRTY.
