We had a great experience! The atmosphere feels cozy and authentic, and the food definitely stands out. We ordered borsh, lamb rack, plov with lamb, the sampler platter, and the shashlik platter — everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. The house-infused vodka was also a fun touch and paired really well with the meal. Overall, it’s a lovely spot if you’re craving traditional Eastern European dishes made with care. Would definitely come back!

Babushka's has great eastern European/Russian cuisine. We tried a lot from the menu and everything was fantastic. The dumplings are a must! The cocktails were good and there's a choose your own adventure house infused vodka flight, weirdly horseradish infused vodka was the favorite. Staff was friendly and service was good on a busy Friday night.

Been wanting to try Babushka's for a while, and today was finally the day! Let me just say that it was an excellent first impression. Antoine gave us perfect service, such a gentleman and attentive. The food was delicious, and my kids enjoyed it all. We also tried the charcuterie board, and I highly recommend that, everything on it was great. My husband and sons wanted to try a bit of everything, so they ordered the two sampler style meals. I tried the Chicken Kyiv, and it was just awesome... if not for the apps (which included the Siberian Dumplings), I would have finished the plate. Overall, yes, we will absolutely go back! Zero complaints about our experience, start to finish, thanks to Antoine and the amazing meal. Don't skip this restaurant, try it yourself!

Certified authentic! Had a great time dining at Babushkas, just like I remember as a kid in Ukraine. Was a great place to bring friends who have never tried authentic Eastern European food. We had everything from apps to dessert and nothing disappointed. Thanks you!

this is one of my absolute favorite places to eat. i usually get it to go, but the atmosphere is calm and welcoming.plus, the staff are attentive and will make sure you are happy with your food & service! i’ve had the borscht (10/10, always!), sol yanka (10/10, so delicious and warming), both siberian and lamb pelmeni (both are SO GOOD!!) but only had them as pan fried, their house-made kvass (incredible flavor, perfectly bubbly!), and their house-made dried apricot vodka. i genuinely have zero complaints about babushka’s, everything i have had the pleasure of eating here has far exceeded my expectations and i am always looking forward to come back when i’m in the area!

It was my first time trying Russian cuisine, and I absolutely loved it! The servers were fantastic—so attentive and helpful. They guided us through how to enjoy the dishes without us even having to ask and offered excellent recommendations. I’ll definitely be coming back. The only downside is that the venue has a bit of an old smell; I hope they use some refreshers to make it more inviting.

We always try to stop here when we are in the area. Great place with interesting and tasty options. We always get the horseradish vodka shot- why? Because you just have to! The borscht, khachapiri pie (cheesy bread with dill sauce) and mushroom bliny (mushroom crepe) are authentic and awesome! I must mention the staff they are fantastic and so grateful for your business

Previous to my dining experience at Babushka’s, I knew nothing of Russian cuisine and went in a little nervous. Boy was I wrong! The food here is so good! The waiter we had was very kind and knowledgeable. If you’ve never tried Russian food before or just want to try something new, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and the experience was very nice! 8/10 - only because I don’t eat everything we ordered but everyone seemed please, thank you Babuska’s!

Babushkas was such an amazing restaurant! The service was excellent and the food was out of this world!! We got the sample platter for two people and we devoured it. Hands down, so worth it! I’m not even from Florida, I’m from Boston, but I’d go to this place again if I ever am back! 5 stars all around

What a gem of a restaurant. It did not dissapoint. The food was amazing, can't wait to go back to try one of the many great food choices. Service was excellent and the restaurant decor is quaint and charming. Best Golutzi i ever tasted, highly recommend.

This place was totally an unplanned, wonderful surprise. As soon as we walked in, we knew that this is where we were meant to have a wonderful dinner and a wonderful foodie experience. Our server, Igor was top notch and very knowledgeable, a must for our next visit. And the food is above reproach. Everything from our appetizers to desserts surprised our palates and made us smile. Compliments to the chef!

I had an incredible dining experience at Babushka's Hyde Park in the heart of Tampa! From the moment we walked in, the beautiful atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant impressed me. The true highlight of our visit was our server, Igor, who provided top-notch service with a genuine, welcoming attitude. He made the experience even more memorable! The Russian cuisine was absolutely delicious – every dish was prepared to perfection, bursting with authentic flavors. You can truly taste the care and attention that goes into every meal. I can't recommend Babushka's enough. The combination of amazing food, impeccable service, and the charming ambiance makes it a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning and will be recommending it to everyone I know!

we had a young blonde man as our waiter and he made the lunch experience so pleasant for us. just super kind and earnest with his recommendations. The kompot was absolutely delicious and worth the order. the bruschetta was pretty awesome too. my friends absolutely loved the dumplings, literally scraped the bowl with their forks. the place is also beautiful and we took so many nice pictures there. thank you babushkas + your staff for being such lovely gems. ☺️

I've been going to Babushkas for years. All the food feels like a warm hug. Super healing, my go to comfort food I'm TPA. Try the Siberian Pelmeni- super comforting & juicy. Martinis are delish. Chicken Kyiv is a crowd pleaser. Broscht is my go to carry-out when I'm sick.

This place was amazing! Our server was incredibly kind, very attentive, and always seemed to check in on us at the right moments. We ordered 2 meat shashlik dishes and then the veggie grill to share which was perfect. The vegetables had that amazing grilled flavored and the sauces that came with everything were the perfect pairing. Save room for dessert because the Syrniki is good enough to want two!

♥️Amazing food! Amazing ambiance on the inviting back covered patio with our 🐶. Awesome server, Nazar, we took his advice on his recommendations and we were happy we did! The mushroom soup, the Asian puff pastries, the Turkish coffee and pastry, the chicken kabob, cabbage salad, pickled onions, beautiful presentation! The blueberry lemonade was phenomenal! DEFINITELY give this spot a GO! 💯 you will NOT be disappointed! Enjoyed eating here with my daughter! Outstanding find! The BEST! Super friendly too from the moment we walked in! ADORABLE 🥰

Had lunch yesterday, and what a wonderful experience!! The decor is warm and welcoming, the service was fantastic, and the food...oh, the food was amazing. Everything was good, but the Blini were so phenomenal that I'm craving them already. The infused vodka was a taste delight, and the elegant pot of tea was perfect with dessert Can't wait to visit again!

Between the service and the food, I had a very positive experience here! My group of four was treated warmly by our server and our food came out in a timely manner. I don’t know very much about Russian cuisine but was very excited to try the traditional dishes that were present! I was not disappointed at all! The Borscht was delicious, the dumplings were well seasoned and very satisfying and the sampler board as the app was delightful. The ambiance was also beautiful! It’s a cozy place with a bright and airy feel thanks to the natural light, plants, and pillows. I will definitely be returning here!

All the food we got was delicious, the restaurant itself is stunning with its decor and aesthetic, inside and outside. Service was fantastic as well, very friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and anticipated our needs.

Delicious food that is far from the "usual" offerings available to someone like me, a native born American with no recent family background/culture outside of the typical American one. I especially love and recommend their Vinagret salad, pictured in my snapshot.

The best authentic Russian food on the west coast! I LOVE LOVE LOVE their Borscht, and their Cabbage Vareniki is amazing too! 100% worth the drive all the way up from south Fort Myers!

Great place! The food was delicious and the staff helpful and friendly. This was our first visit here. I mentioned it was our wedding anniversary and they gave us a complimentary dessert. It is the little things that count the most. We’ll definitely be back.

This was my second time at Babushka’s and it was just as amazing as the first! The first I only had a soup and apps. But I knew I had to bring my husband. Everything—from the appetizer to the entrée, dessert, and drinks—was absolutely delicious. True comfort food that hits the spot. While there were a couple of small inconsistencies (some dishes could’ve been hotter, and I burned my tongue on another), the flavors more than made up for it. Everything was so well-seasoned and satisfying. We’ll definitely be back!

My wife had been here before with a friend so she wanted me to try it. Definitely a different food experience which can be a nice change of pace. My primary reason for leaving a review though was the service. Antoine was just phenomenal. His customer service and kindness are so refreshing! Not to mention, you can tell that he has genuine pride in the food and his country. As for the food, I was very impressed with the amount of meat I received in my Chicken Shashlyk order. It was juicy and fresh. Now, be aware that the mash potatoes will not be as tasty or creamy as the American version. Otherwise, the restaurant vibe/decor is very welcoming. This restaurant is worth a stop.

Had an amazing time at Babushka’s. Our server Nazar was incredibly thoughtful and knowledgeable. We had the Dumplings, the Beef Stroganoff and the Chicken Kiev all delicious and the portions were perfect. For dessert the Syrniki just completed what was already a wonderful dinner. Would definitely recommend and return.

We ordered soo many things on the menu and every single dish was delicious! 🤤 the samsi, borscht, pilimeni were bomb. The drink menu is super unique and yummy too. We loved the atmosphere and especially the decor. Felt like we were having a delicious lunch at babushka’s in Russia. We will visit every time we are in Tampa. Highly recommend 👌🏼

Hidden gem! I had been wanting to go to Babushkas for a while now and finally made it for Mothers Day brunch. We had such a fantastic experience. The food came out fresh and piping hot, wonderfully prepared with thoughtful pairings that balanced all of the flavors. The service was outstanding! Our servers were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We were so impressed with the all the little details that go into the experience. We are definitely coming back and my only regret is not stopping in sooner.

I've been twice and both times the atmosphere and staff have been very nice. The food to my knowledge is authentic and delicious. I strongly recommend the restaurant, it is a bit pricey but good for a special outing. I only took one photo sadly but it was tasty.

This is an amazing hidden gem of a restaurant. DO NOT be overwhelmed by the menu. The food was amazing, the atmosphere is quite cozy and niche (in a good way). The service was exceptional. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The infused vodka flight was worth every penny and the sampler dinner was so much food. A great way to try the most popular things. 10/10 definitely recommend and I will be back. #OfflineTampa

I've been wanting to try this place for a few years and finally made it! We were lucky to snag a table around 5:30 on a Sunday evening. By 6 the place was packed, and mostly reservations only. Since it was my first time I wanted to try everything! I started with the mushroom soup. It was savory and delicious. I then got some of the dumplings, which were not as I expected, but very tasty. The kind I got were like little button dumplings. About the size of a quarter, and filled with pork and beef. They were served with sour cream, which actually suited them very well. For my entree I had the lamb kabob. It was good, though a little overcooked for my liking. The new potatoes that came with it were perfection, and I could have been happy with just those. The dill sauce on the plate made everything even more delicious, and I also liked the little slaw on the side. I brought half the lamb and a good portion of the dumplings home, and was completely full when we left. Some of my friends ordered the larger soup-filled dumplings, so I got to try those as well. They were delicious! I also enjoyed a couple bites of their sampler platter that included stuffed cabbage, chicken kiev, beef stroganoff and a lamb dish. Their mashed potatoes had no seasoning, but everything else I tried was delicious. I look forward to returning and trying more items from the menu!

I recently dined at Babushka’s and had an outstanding experience. The food was absolutely amazing, with every dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was equally impressive, offering a warm and inviting ambiance that made the meal even more enjoyable. The service was attentive without being intrusive, adding to the overall fantastic dining experience. I highly recommend Babushka’s to anyone looking for delicious food in a great setting!

This place is great. Friendly service. Great food. I’ve never had Russian food before and I loved all of it. The dumplings and the Nordic appetizer were incredible and the menu makes things very approachable. Great cocktails, too. We will be back! :)

Babushka’s will make you wonder why you don’t have Russian food more often. The meal is the definition of comfort food - fresh, homemade, and made with love. Highly recommend the Khilkani dumplings and Golbutsy - can’t go wrong with the sample platter. The house infused vodka is also dangerously good. To top it off the staff are kind and welcoming, matching the homey atmosphere perfectly.

The service is as great as the food. We celebrated a friends birthday and had a great time. I had the chicken shashlik and Georgian red wine flight. Can’t wait to go back! They have a lot of gluten free options as well.

Perfection. This is a special place. Every time I walk in the door it feels like a unique experience. Always impressed by the original take on drinks that you can’t find anywhere else, unless in Europe. BTW- they are made by true Europeean experts and made with passion. It’s a staycation or tourist destination that should not be missed. It simply isn’t duplicatable here in Hyde Park. To say less - the bar and atmosphere is very cozy and unique, the bar tenders are carefully meticulous and thoughtful in every moment. Love it here. Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-free, Paleo, Keto, alcoholic ALL WELCOMED

The food was great, we had dumplings, Nordic tartar, pork skewers and honey cake. The vodka flight was fun - wide range of options. They were very busy on Xmas day so service was slow but very friendly. Would definitely come back.

Amazing time once again. The food is phenomenal, no matter what you order. We tried a few things on the menu along with the entree sampler, which was a ton of food - all tasty. The service was quick and attentive. We sat outside and it was nice and relaxing, inside was more elevated with live music. Don't forget dessert! The tea service is nice as well

My wife is polish so I know polish and Ukranian good (at least some of it). But they have the selection of traditional foods and overall it is decent, but seemed like the food was just sitting in a heater for awhile. For instance it just seemed dry. But overall still delicious otherwise. Server was good and still took us back to eastern Poland.

my standards for russian food are high since i grew up eating it as well as frequently ate at russian/ukrainian/uzbek/georgian etc restaurants in nyc. with that, vinegret was fresh and tasty, lulya shish was alright, pelemni were average, plov was pretty bad, samsa wasnt bad. service was amazing as well as ambience/decor.

Babushka’s in Hyde Park delivered a wonderful brunch experience with great food and warm service. We started with the Kaluga Royal black caviar—a perfect beginning to our meal. The Benedict eggs served with vodka-infused salmon were outstanding, with a hollandaise sauce that was rich yet perfectly balanced. The borscht was flavorful and comforting, and the waffles were a lovely, separate dish to round out the brunch. If anything, five bellinis just didn’t feel like enough to pair with all the delicious caviar. One area for improvement would be the coffee, while cappuccinos and lattes are offered, they’re currently made with regular brewed coffee and milk foam rather than proper espresso and textured milk. Investing in a quality espresso machine and coffee would really elevate these drinks and match the high standard of the food. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will definitely be coming back, next time to experience their dinner menu.

What a delightful space! Cute decor, very spacious (surprisingly spacious as the establishment looks very small from the outside), with a tastefully decorated patio. The menu features traditional and hybrid dishes from Russia and Eastern European as well as a nice collection of cocktails, wines, beers and vodkas. The food was served piping hot and tasted delicious. Some of the flavor combinations are unique, like I've never had dill cream with spicy tomato sauce. We asked for medium-rare temp on the duck which came out almost well-done, however, it still tasted delicious. Service was lacking. Although very pleasant and able to answer any questions, our server took very long in between check-ins and never brought silverware. We had to ask the chef who delivered food for napkins and forks.

The food is good, although portions are quite small, so if you're a bigger guy you might want to eat something before. Our waitress was nice and made decent recommendations. The service was a bit on the slow side, caveat - we dined on Thanksgiving, but at the same time that's what differentiates "excellent" service from "good" service. Parking is extremely, so be advised. Also the restroom situation reflects the parking space paucity. They have a single use bathroom situation - one male, and one female. Other than these infrastructural annoyances, and the slow service, we enjoyed ourselves. The atmosphere seems very eclectic and has a rustic, minimalist feel. The music was by far my favorite feature, it was a variety of [Eastern European, presumably] pop, jazz, and folks music. The salmon tartar, Borsht, and dumplings were delicious. I also enjoyed an after dinner tea. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves, I would recommend this place to try out, and we will most likely be back again.

We visited Babushka and really liked the ambiance — warm décor, good music, and a cozy vibe. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, which made the experience pleasant. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the atmosphere. We ordered khinkali, lula kebab, and a vinaigrette salad. All three dishes were disappointing in quality and flavor. The khinkali lacked freshness, the lula kebab wasn’t seasoned well, and the vinaigrette salad tasted dull and not as vibrant as it should be. Overall, it’s a nice place to sit and enjoy the setting, but the food quality needs improvement. We left feeling underwhelmed, especially for the price.

Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The food itself was mediocre, but the real issue was food safety and basic standards. Our order was mistakenly served to another table. Five minutes later, once staff realized the mistake, they took the plates from that table and placed them directly on ours. That alone is unacceptable. It made me seriously question whether anyone on staff is ServSafe certified. None of the employees were wearing non-slip work shoes, which resulted in people slipping on the floor — not only unsafe, but honestly sad to watch. It did not inspire confidence in how the kitchen is run. I also strongly suspect that ready-to-eat food was handled with bare hands, which is another major red flag. To top it off, the odor in the restaurant was unpleasant and far from appetizing — definitely not the kind of smell you’d expect when dining out. Overall, this place needs serious improvements in food handling, safety, and basic professionalism before I could ever consider returning.

My girlfriend and I made a reservation here for Valentine’s Day and were really looking forward to our evening. When booking, there was an option to select a special five-course Valentine’s dinner, which I intentionally did not choose because I wanted the flexibility to order from the regular menu. When we arrived, parking was very limited, but thankfully my girlfriend found a spot just in time. We got there about five minutes early, but still had to wait outside for about 10 minutes before being let in. After being seated near the front, we waited another 10–15 minutes before our waiter approached us. When he did, he briefly mumbled something and walked away. When he returned, I asked for menus and was told that the Valentine’s Day special was the only option available, at $115 per person. To be clear, I have no issue with the price itself. My concern was that I was still able to make a reservation without selecting that option, and it was never clearly communicated that it would be mandatory. I spoke with the manager, who pointed to fine print in the reservation, but this was not made obvious during the booking process. While we were discussing it, the first course was brought out, and the overall interaction felt rushed and uncomfortable. At that point, my girlfriend and I decided to leave. It was disappointing, especially since we had been genuinely excited about spending Valentine’s Day here. We ended up going somewhere else and salvaging the night. For a restaurant charging that level of pricing, I would expect clearer communication, better organization, and more attentive, respectful service. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning.

Made a valentines res for me and my fiance. Thinking it was full menu. Show up to a limited menu (was quality food - please don’t get me wrong) but it was a bait and switch. 1 deviled egg per person. A couple beets with arugula. A hush puppy type fried something. And our “entree” which was 3 bites. Also got a dessert. Both were not very good. All for the price of $115 per person. Was so hungry after , that we asked for some extra bites. Charged and arm and a leg for it. Very disappointed in the experience. I know the food is good there. But I feel like we were fooled - open table needs to be more descriptive when certain events are going on.
