SATA Empanada

I drive by this place several times a week. I decided to so by tonight. What a cute quaint family owned place. While I waited for my empanadas they gave me a sample of their lentil soup. It was delicious. I tried the ground beef, chicken, spinach/feta cheese and apple empanadas. All were hot, delicious and super afforable. I will definitely come back.

Lentil soup is amazing reminds me of my aunt's cooking 🤤 so good. Prices are great, there's one picnic table for seating, parking is good, they're open till 9 so it's a great snack place but also a good dinner place if you want pizza after sports or a sandwich for lunch.

Delicious and fresh empanadas! They feel homemade with a wheat flour crust that is very crispy and not greasy at all. They offer multiple flavors and have menus in both Spanish and English. The ground beef was our favorite; it has a little bit of corn and potato and is really flavorful. The steak and mushroom is also very tasty, both have a gravy like filling that makes them juicy. The cheese empanada uses a mix of white and yellow cheese; I loved the combination. The spinach one is great for those who like greens, the spinach tasted fresh and well prepared. They also have a really tasty lentil soup that is very nourishing. If you like lentils, you should definitely try it. Nothing felt heavy, over-seasoned, or greasy. Everything was made with care, and it felt so good to eat there. The person who assisted us was so nice, friendly, and helpful. It was wonderful to find someone with that attitude after a long day of work. Thank you, sir! The place has two or three outdoor tables with umbrellas; sitting there during the sunset was really nice. 10 out of 10 for these empanadas, shoutout to the owner!

Stopped by on a whim because I was craving an empanada. Immediately encountered the KINDEST owner who let me and my family try the (delicious, very flavorful) lentil soup while I ordered a few empanadas. I had one of the best beef empanadas I’ve had in a while. Also had a delicious steak and mushroom empanada as well as a pepperoni and cheese one. My husband loved the chicken empanada and my very picky daughter loved her cheese empanada. This will become a new favorite spot for us, for sure!

This is a hidden gem! They do to-go only and there are two picnic tables outside. The owner was so nice and gave me a sample of the lentil soup which was delicious!! Then I got two chicken empanadas and they are sooo amazing, filled to the brim with juicy chicken. It is one of the best empanadas I’ve had for sure. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone!

Stopped by for a few empanadas to go. Owner was so hospitable and sweet. The food was made fresh, came out quickly, and was cooked to perfection, with each empanada in its own cute little labeled bag. We ordered the steak/mushroom, chicken, and ground beef empanadas, all of which were delicious and filled with meat. The lentil soup was also phenomenal. Would return due to the excellent customer service and presentation alone, but the food makes it perfect. I’m about 20+ minutes away, but will be making the trip here as frequently as I can. Don’t sleep on this place!!!

Okay words couldn’t express how of a hidden Gem this place is. The owner hospitality is out of this world he makes you feel like a family member vista his home. Please support this small business we need to keep this place alive. People the empanadas are wonderful not greasy. It’s a must try if you’re in tampa. The apples pie is homemade and authentic. Everything I have eaten from empanadas, Pizza, veggie burgers sandwich are all amazing so fresh. You could taste the love in all the flavors. Just go buy taste for yourself.

I met Nader at my job a while back and during our conversation he invited me to stop by his business SATA Empanada. "I can’t believe I drove by this place so many times before finally stopping in—I’m so glad I did! Now, every time I drive past, I have to remind myself to stop by for lunch again after work. The owner, Nader, is incredibly kind and shared how the name SATA is a tribute to his two daughters, Sara and Tara. It’s such a cool family-run spot. The food is 10/10. The Chicken and Tuna Fish empanadas are my current favorites (perfectly crispy!). Nader gave me a sample of the Lentil Soup while we chatted and it was so good I decided I had to return in the future to get a full serving. I haven’t tried the Apple Pie empanada yet, but it’s definitely on the list for next time. If you’re looking for high-quality food and amazing hospitality, this is the place!"
