The Pearl Restaurant & Tavern offers a refined yet welcoming dining experience that perfectly blends upscale ambiance with Southern charm. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere sets the tone—elegant décor, warm lighting, and a lively but comfortable energy that makes it ideal for date nights, celebrations, or even a classy dinner with friends. The menu does an excellent job of combining fresh seafood with Southern-inspired favorites, giving you the best of both worlds. One standout dish for me was the Chili Garlic Shrimp. It was packed with flavor—perfectly cooked, tender shrimp coated in a bold, savory sauce that had just the right balance of heat and richness. Every bite was satisfying without being overwhelming. What truly elevated the experience was the service. My server was exceptional—attentive without being intrusive and incredibly knowledgeable about both the food and cocktail menus. She offered thoughtful recommendations and made sure everything came out just right, which added a personal touch to the evening. Oh! And the old fashioned cocktail is perfect! Lol
Such a pretty restaurant inside and out! So many gluten free options (they have a separate fryer). Best chicken wings ever and the tater tots were amazing! Fried oysters were alittle spicy but the perfect bite.
Located right in downtown on Water Street- came with friends visiting and got alittle of everything to share. If you like wings- these are a must try- they are brined and then fried (fall off the bone tender but a great outside crisp) served with this house Gochujang hot sauce (so good!), the N’awlins oysters (savory in a buttery seasoned broth with baguette to soak up the sauce which you will want to do!), jalapeno spoon cornbread (good texture and complements butter), burger done up their way (fresh meat they grind daily, classic), garlic shrimp (delicious and need bread for the broth), seabass special (perfectly cooked), ham and cheese open face (on their brunch menu we got earlier- sweet and savory! Delish)- and just like their menu suggests- save room for their fresh made pies! Overall- great service by Whitney! She was fantastic- food was great (ordered a 2nd order of wings btw) and love coming here! Some people I see have complained about being overpriced but I think the food is high quality and it’s comparable to other similar restaurants downtown - Highly recommend!
Excellent experience at this one of a kind Seafood restaurant in the heart of Channelside literally right across the street from Benchmark Arena, formerly Amalie Arena! The menu is spectacular and has something for everyone. I loved the Harbour salad which was rich with scallops, crab meat, and shrimp and featured a very nice red wine vinaigrette. I also loved the smoked whitefish spread and the Thai style mussels. For dessert I went with the iconic brown sugar pie which delighted with every bite. Overall I was very happy and impressed with The Pearl Tampa and certainly will be back!!
Incredible experience. Staff was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Clean, well decorated and full of life. Several Lightning fans on a game night just like us. Lots to chose from on the menu. We kept it simple oysters and burgers. All were delicious and served timely. Presentation was spot on. Highly recommend.
The food at The Pearl was absolutely delicious. We ordered the House Smoked Salmon as a starter and Hanger Steak for entree and it was so good, the steak was soft and tender with the combination of kimchee rice and a fried egg. The drinks were also really good. Our waitress Whitney was super sweet, kind and friendly. The interior design of this place is elegant, chic, beautiful and inviting. We will definitely come back again.
The Pearl is highly rated and I can see why. The food, service and atmosphere were top notch. The menu is not large but well thought out and there is something for everyone.
Loved dining in here! They have an outdoor dining area too (great for people watching!) but I sat inside at the bar. Bloody Mary was fantastic and I got the Shakshuka, highly recommend this skillet-like dish!
The Pearl was the highlight of our trip across Florida. We have traveled from Jacksonville to Gainesville, Orlando, Miami, Fort Myers, Sarasota and finally ending up in Tampa over the last three weeks. The Pearl was the perfect way to end the trip. Amazing food. Incredible atmosphere. Excellent 5-star service. We went in on a busy night (Elevation Worship was playing at the Benchmark Arena) so had to park in the paid lot a little down the way but the walk through Water St made it worthwhile. We walked in without a reservation and within 3 minutes they had a table ready for us. Both the hostess and waitress gave amazing recommendations. Definitely recommend the Smoked Salmon starter for any salmon lover. There is no portion of the salmon that doesn’t explode with flavor. We ended up ordering two. We then ordered the Scallops, Hanger Steak, and the Redfish. I don’t see how you could make the dishes better. The Chef has truly perfected these meals. The Hanger steak comes with Kimchi rice and it provides the perfect amount of kick (but not what I would call spicy) to compliment the amazing steak. The scallops have been the best scallops we have had in Florida thus far. You can tell the quality from every single bite. The redfish (apparently a newer menu item) was fresh and also an exquisite experience all on its own. You cannot go wrong with any of these dishes. To top it all off, we ordered three different pies, the brown sugar, the apple pie, and the Oreo pie (all with ice cream). The intensity we devoured them was almost embarrassing. All were amazing but the table consensus had the Oreo at the top. Now while you may think it’s just a typical pie with Oreos mixed in, it is not. They have somehow created the fluffiest cheesecake style pie with Oreo cookie pieces that makes every bite seem like eating an Oreo for the first time. Anytime I am in Tampa, this will be a must.
We had some amazing oysters and Rockefeller! The hostess, Alysa (I believe she’s a manager), was awesome. Our waiter, Ashley, was the absolute best she made amazing margaritas and Old Fashion! And let’s not forget about Janay, the chef 🥰 she’s the absolute best! Everything was on point from start to finish. Highly recommend Luigi the Security Guy was Top notch as well
Phenomenal across the board! I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday here for brunch this year! This was my first time ever and it did not disappoint! From start to finish this place has it together! We had to circle the block to get parking prepare for that but know there are options, street parking( for the lucky ones) some lots are about a block away. We had reservations we arrived separately the friendly hostess State at our table was ready and we were free to sit down prior to the entire party arriving. They also very thoughtfully had left a table beside us in case more people arrived than we originally thought.! Promptly greeted by our server appetizers, and drinks were served. The deviled eggs were delicious and adorable the way they were served. All of the food and entrées came out together. One dish had the wrong protein, and it was promptly corrected and brought to us personally by a manager, who is also very attentive and kind the mimosa buckets were a hit. We enjoyed a few! It’s a great shared option. The seasonal cocktails were great. This is not a place that you’re waiting a long time for those fancy muddled cocktails. They have a great list. The food was fresh. Everything was delicious. The clam chowder is the real deal creamy thick flavorful the best I’ve had in Florida. ( if not anywhere). My entree was the hanger steak I like rare it was perfect and tender do not let it overshadow the kimchi fried rice which was outstanding! Make sure you save room for this famous pie. We tried several all of them were devoured. I miss getting pictures of the delicious Dutch apple pie and I also had the peach layered pie, which was served in a jar. It was just Everything you want in that peach pie dessert! All of the staff from the hostess server, and even the bus boy who took our group photo for us went above and beyond in every opportunity they could. We were a large party. We enjoyed the food ambiance and friendship never felt rushed or needing anything the staff did a great job! There was an auto gratuity which I have no problem for the level of professionalism that they exhibit here could inspire our server, politely mention the auto gratuity and upon interaction for Payment with each person in our party repeated it reminded them so no misunderstandings Could occur. She was great! This was a memorable dining experience that will remain at the very top of my list for some time to come congratulations to those work in that Sunday morning, August 24, 2025 you all did a great job and it was so greatly appreciated. We will be back if you’re reading this review deciding if you should eat here or not don’t skip it. You’ll be sorry and missing out on a great opportunity!
Great atmosphere. Very courteous staff. Chicken sandwich was crispy and delightful. We also had their tater tots extra crispy and they were extremely enjoyable. Very crispy outside, slightly fluffy inside. Paired very well with their spicy mayo or ketchup if you’re old school.
Service was great and the food was fantastic! I ordered the jalapeno spoon bread and it was amazing!! I stopped eating cornbread as a kid but this was the most moist and delicious cornbread I've ever had in my life. The whipped butter with honey was the icing on the cake so to speak. The Harbour salad could be enough for two people depending on how hungry you are. I will definitely go back. I'm a bread head and the garlic bread that came with the garlic shrimp is a bread lovers dream. The right amount of crunch, butter and softness.
OMG!!!! Just Goooooo this place was AMAZING! We arrived during happy hour (that was a treat) the drinks were amazing, very clean and flavorful, the food was fresh and delicious! Staff found out we were there for our 15 year anniversary after we closed out our tab and treated us to a free dessert and told us about another location in MI were we are from. This place was so good we may have to go back before we leave Tampa!! I cant express to you how delicious everything was and the vibe is just so chill! And the kitchen was in sync so much that you could hear them celebrating each other in the back, I love when happy people are handling my food. This is by far one of the best restaurants we have visited this far in Tampa!
Really enjoyed the me. The Harbour salad was delicious. The server was so friendly and helpful. Great Gluten-free options. They even had corn bread croutons in the salad!

Honestly everything we had was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend had the baked clams and had me taste them. So so good! Also highly recommend the curry mussels my best friend ordered and I have to mention the pub burger was the best I’ve had in some time. Yum! 😋 can’t wait to be back!

OMG—let’s just say The Pearl! For me, this spot is every southern vibe and comfort food favorite, elevated to a top-tier level. The interior and aesthetic are absolutely stunning, with an atmosphere that feels both warm and refined. The starters alone set the tone—deviled eggs, fried pickles (arguably the best I’ve ever had), and that jalapeño cornbread that’s unforgettable. The Nawlins charbroiled oysters? Deliciously Lavish! Each dish felt carefully crafted, full of flavor, and truly memorable. If you appreciate good food and great energy, this place is a home run. Honestly, it’s been the biggest home run for me since moving to Tampa. Thank you, The Pearl, for creating such an amazing dining experience. Highly recommend—check it out and see for yourself!

Our first time here, the atmosphere is quite noisy. Food was savory and well prepared. Had drinks then shrimp appetizer. My wife had the scallops, and I had gulf snapper, which had a deliciouslemon sauce. Dessert was key lime pie and peanut butter pie.
Very delicious food in a beautiful atmosphere. The fish spread was really good (although I recommend with a honey or jam element). Crispy chicken for the kiddos was so crispy and tender I needed up eating more than I wanted. My sister and I ordered salads and we loved the generous perfectly cooked grilled chicken with it. Everything we order was g perfectly cooked and seasoned. Highly recommend. Our server (Noah) was very attentive, welcoming, and friendly. We will be back.

They have gluten free entrees and a fabulous gluten free, low sugar dessert! The service was excellent. \nAmbiance is very cool, kinda a 50's vibe with the cool blue colored bar stools.
We had the shrimp and grits, pancakes with bacon, and the blueberry donut holes. I requested and omelette and they made it for me. Very nice staff. Highly recommend!

Stopped for lunch and it did not disappoint! Bartender was excellent with our drinks and food choices. Best also was the atmosphere and music selection. We won't forget this one! ❤️
What caught my attention is that we made a reservation for a group of 12 people and were seated 30 minutes later. That’s where things started off badly… For a table of 12 people, we were assigned only one server who came by every 10–15 minutes. The kitchen, or the dishes we ordered, were basic—nothing spectacular for a place with Michelin stars. The only standout were the desserts, which I give a 10/10. Again, the service is very poor and basic. It’s an option you should rule out for groups of more than 10 people. The atmosphere is limited, and overall my experience was very basic. 6/10 for a place with Michelin stars.
I enjoyed it here! 8.5/10 — the service and ambiance was sparkling, really elevating the overall experience. i loved the art, the individual bathrooms, our attentive waiter and the overall ambiance. the menu was full of thoughtful combinations that will have your mouth watering, seriously. - The water street punch caught my eye because of the reposado tequila, but it was so much more than i was expecting. Robust and bursting flavors, with the St-Germain Elderflower and the basil. The strawberry gave it a fresh sweetness, and the grapefruit juice gave it a sharp tartness. It was spritzy and refreshing, with a cute, thin slice of cucumber dusted with lime zest. I really enjoyed it! 9/10 - the n’awlins style baked oysters were fantastic, definitely recommend! they come on a bed of rich garlic herb butter, and have a cheesy, herbaceous crust. the butter really was unforgettable! We even ordered more bread to eat all of it. - the harbor salad was full of creamy chunks of avocado, lump crab, plump shrimp, bacon and sharp bright quality from the vinaigrette — just so fresh and light. i didn’t really enjoy how mushy the croutons became, but otherwise it was delicious.
We ordered the Old-Fashioned Deviled Eggs—great presentation and very good flavor. The Fish & Chips were hot, crispy, and delicious. The Harbour Salad had excellent seafood flavors and was very fresh. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was very good. We sat by the glass wall, which gave us an amazing view, almost like sitting on the patio. The Michelin Guide was spot-on with this recommendation.

A lovely dinner spent with friends and great food. We sat outside which was pretty hot even in the shade - I wish there were a few more fans. The Fish and Chips were so tender and it was a lot for one person! The fish was Perch. The Tater Tots and Fried Pickles were fun appetizers to share amongst our table too. The staff were all very nice I just wish we didnt have to box our own leftovers! I will come back any day, though.
The food here was fantastic. I got the Great Lakes Fish and Chips; it’s perch and fried to perfection. They make pies daily, and even though I ordered apple pie, I never got the chance to eat it. But it looked delicious and smelled amazing. The service here was slow, unfortunately. Our server was a great person, but it seemed like she forgot about us a lot and made us crunch for time in our vacation as a result. The venue has cute paintings and a lot of fan fave props and things around to spark conversations at the table. Overall, I would recommend if you’re in the area. Not too pricey, and great quality.

We were very disappointed with our experience at The Pearl last night. The food and drinks were generally good but not worth the $350 Spent on three people. The spoon bread though is always great. What was most disappointing was the service. Our waitress was very friendly, but extremely overworked. She was handling two rooms of tables on a Friday evening. It seemed by herself, so her visits to our table were infrequent to say the least. They also didn’t seem to have enough people working in the back bar because it would take almost 20 minutes to get a new drink. It’s too bad because this was a spot that we liked to take our guests when they came into town. We won’t be doing that anymore
This is my second time visiting this restaurant! The initial visit was great, However this time I ate inside the restaurant, The amount of fruit flies and swatting, I did while trying to eat my meal was ridiculous. I couldn’t enjoy my meal. I had to ask the waitress for something to cover the appetizers, which her response was that of this wasn’t a big deal. Then at one point the lighting became very dim, where it was difficult to see.. This experience was one that will make me think twice about visiting this restaurant again.
